  1. Multiple Accounts and Inactive Manager

The cheating is currently bad in many game worlds and as Kev mentioned, we are currently about to embark in a clean up in many game worlds. The email confirmation will just be a small step in the right direction with more to follow.
  2. A little too late for SM?

Thats good, hopefully its the start of more welcoming changes for you. We have also put back the top 50 managers from years ago. Not the most important issue I admit but was simple to put in.
  3. Is this why the multi player game is finished?

Paul, thanks for that feedback. Some interesting ideas there. The idea around player ratings and concerns is an interesting one and something Ive seen suggested in a few places.
  4. Is this why the multi player game is finished?

We have a couple of new ideas around how to deal with cheats, will post them on the forum shortly to see what you think.
  5. Is this why the multi player game is finished?

You will see at least myself communicating on the forum going forward
  6. Is this why the multi player game is finished?

There will be a lot more of it going forward. We have got a mandate now to get the multiplayer back to what is can be and we will need your guys help. Its not going to be easy and it will take time, but engaging with people like yourselves is the first step.
  7. Is this why the multi player game is finished?

Hi Smut and Soccahappy, This is going to take time to get all the things right in the multiplayer, but I can assure you that we are very actively underway with it. There is a lot to fix and it will take a few months at least to get it back to what it used to be. We are looking at going back to how it was years ago, in some respects 5 years+. Every few weeks new changes will keep going in and bit by bit we will get there. It is a play by mail at the end of the day, we realise that and also we have made many mistakes too. It will take a while to convince you guys of this, and I can totally understand why, but that is also one of our key goals. We do need your help and I am listening, and we have a team dedicated to it.

  9. Hello, Its been a long time since I have posted in the forum. There are going to be many changes to SM Worlds coming in the following months that will move the game in many ways back more towards what it used to be in the years gone by. The first thing and possibly the most important of these is the approach that we will take. We will be a lot more engaged with the community going forward,, especially right here in the forum, You are now going to see us about a lot more, just like you used to. Secondly we will be working through a whole range of issues to improve the game and forum. Its your game and we want and need you to work with us to improve very aspect of it (including the forum itself). We will also be very transparent on the changes we are doing Every few weeks a batch of changes will be placed in the game and they will be logged at the thread below. We will also be asking for your help shaping the future changes we do. We want to ensure we remain a community driven game and if we are going to do it then we will need your help to achieve it.
  10. Re: SM Worlds Suggested Improvements Discussion With the concerns and player rating drops, the idea is to disincentive people from building huge squads where most players will never play and the hogging of those players ruins the game. Then those players just go up in value eventually from when they bought them, usually from unmanaged\external clubs, then just sell them back to unmanaged\external clubs for a profit. a 94 rated player with concern level 1 will still be a 94 rated player, but play as a 92 rated player. He will appear as 92/94 in all places were his rating is displayed. If his rating goes upto 95 say, then he will be displayed as 93/95, and visa verca if he goes down to 93 rated, 91/93. So he will play worse as his concerns grow. Basically his moral is low. Unmanaged/external clubs are prepared to pay less because he has concerns, so they would offer as if he is a 92 rated. So the players values and performances will drop if not getting played. On moving club, his concerns will have gone, so he will play like a 94 again, and external clubs will then value him at 94 again.
  11. Re: SM Worlds Suggested Improvements Discussion Thanks for the feedback so far. The more views and ideas we got around the problems the better solutions we can come to. Just regarding how long it takes to address all these issues, I would like to say that it depends on two things. One reason will be how long it takes to carefully test the changes before putting them in the game, eg the match engine changes need to go in carefully without bugs and worse results. The other will be how long it takes to think up the best solutions to these issues, so it will be dependent to a point on the discussions here in the forum and other channels. There is plenty of devs all ready to go at it and just waiting on the planned solutions to be given to them. The key is to take the time needed to get it all right, as it might take time for us all to figure out between us all what the best solution to more contentious issues like for example dealing with large squad sizes. Going forward, we will be a lot more involved in building both games with the help of the community. This will be helping to design all new features in both single player and multiplayer, as well as for asking for community testing of those features before they go into the games. One last thing, we would like you to hold us to our 10 principles that we have had up since the start of SM, the most relevant one relating to this post is that at the end of the day its your game. http://www.soccermanager.com/corporate-info.php
  12. Re: Current Multiplayer Problems & Solutions Thanks Rilo. I was just about to direct the readers of this thread to the other ones.
  13. Re: Current Multiplayer Problems & Solutions We now have the single player out as a Beta build and we will continue to develop it over the coming months and years. It is true that we haven't spent as much time on the multi player as we would have liked to or even should have. Although we are listening to you and we are actively underway to address the issues that the MP game has. We have been reading the forum threads and collated lots of issues that have been posted by yourselves. The prize money has now doubled, back to what it originally was, and work will be done on the economy, cheating, wiki, match engine, concerns, squad sizes etc. We are in the final stages of putting a plan together and it will be posted soon here on the forum. Then we will ask for your help in editing, modifying and getting it right. After that we will get underway with doing it all.
  14. Hello Again!

Its been a long time, but have returned to become more active on the forum, rather than just reading it!
  15. New Game World Economies Explained

Re: New Game World Economies Explained This is true, its the downside of anchoring game worlds as they currently are, but the other option of lowering them would mean a slow decline in the game worlds state to bring them back into line. We decided to try going with the former.
