1. Malmö 2 - 0 Celtic (Agg: 4 - 3) WE'RE IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FOR THE 2ND YEAR RUNNING!!!! What an awesome game it was. IMO, it was the best football we've played this season. Could have won the game comfortably if it wasn't for their keeper Gordon who made some world class saves. Rosenberg and Adu who were suspended for the 1st leg showed what we missed. Both of them were fantastic, especially Rosenberg. We had a bit of luck when Celtic had a goal wrongly dissolved. It could have also been a red card for Arnason who decided to be the goalkeeper and punch the ball. But before that Celtic were lucky not to go down to 10 men when Griffiths kneed Tinnherolm in the groin. What disgusting behaviour from Griffiths. The cheek of him to say to the ref that he got the ball, but tbf he did but it was the wrong one. If Griffiths got sent off that the disallowed goal incident wouldn't have happened. Zlatan tweeted to congratulate us by saying "MFF in Champions League. One day I hope to experience the Champions League in Malmö on the pitch. Congratulations! ". Could it mean that Zlatan wants to come home and don that sky blue jersey again? He did say that his next move will be a surprise. Anyway, I would like this group in the draw: PSG, Porto, Olympiacos, Malmö.
2. Celtic 3 - 2 Malmö Disappointing with the performance but I can't complain as I'm absolutely thrilled with the result. We have a massive advantage with two away goals!!! As I mentioned above I was disappointed with the performance especially defensively. I honestly thought we were going to be in for a long night when we were 2-0 down in the first 10 minutes, but we somehow dusted ourselves down and got back into the game. Who else but Jo Inge Berget, the ex-Celtic player who came back to haunt them by scoring twice. We missed Rosenberg and Adu (I thought I'd never say that given his current form) badly. If they weren't suspended, then I reckon we would have won the game. Now with them back for the second leg, I'm extremely confident that we'll progress to the group stages. Also the game had vibes from last seasons play-off game with Salzburg. We get an important away goal right at the end to make the deficit by one goal and it was the same yesterday. History tells us that Malmö won the return leg. On another note, Wiland made some interesting comments about the Celtic players - http://www.theguardian.com/football/...children-malmo . I would agree with him on that. The biggest pig was their captain Scott Brown. He is an absolute (insert every expletive in the dictionary). Just wait till he gets a sly elbow in the face from Rosenberg, then we'll see who's the big guy.
3. Thank you and yes you're right. It was a definite penalty, but let me remind you that Salzburg were awarded an incorrect penalty whilst we were denied a definite penalty. Both the Austrian and Swedish pundits agree on this unanimously. But on the overall performance in the two legs, we deserve to go through.
4. The second leg finished 3-0 to Malmö. What a game it was. Two early goals by Djurdjic and Rosenberg gave us hope that we could go on and win the tie within 90 minutes' date=' and hell yeah we did after Rodic pounced on a defensive error by Miranda. The 2nd half was quite nervy though, especially after Adu was sent off. But we held on and defended well. [YOUTUBE']6timgKaTli4 All the money Dead Bull Salzburg spent and they still can't get into the Champions League. They might as well create their own version of the Champions League with their Red Bull money featuring other Red Bull owned teams. Now we face Celtic in the play-off round. There's no doubt that it'll be a tough tie but I think we'll go through. We've got an unbreakable spirit, never say die attitude and that should help us through. I'll be going to Celtic Park along with a large contingent of fellow fans, so it should be a nice day out. Rosenberg and Adu will be suspended for the first leg (you won't get lucky this time Celtic ), Rosenberg's influence and work ethic will be missed, Adu...... meh not so much, he hasn't performed well this season. Prediction for the 1st leg: 3-0 to us. Jo Inge Berget will come back to haunt you with a hat-rick. Nah just kidding, I think it'll be 1-1.
5. FT: Salzburg 2 - 0 Malmö The referee was absolutely atrocious. We had two clear penalty shouts which weren't given. Also Salzburg's penalty was incorrectly given IMO.
6. Salzburg: Stankovic; Schmitz, Miranda, Hinteregger, Ulmer; Berisha, Keita, Leitgeb, Atanga; Djuricin, Oberlin. Subs - Walke, Upamecano, Prevljak, Pires, Lainer, Laimer, Nielsen. No Soriano in the squad as he's on his way to join Benfica. Massive news for us as he was the most dangerous player against us last year. Malmö: Wiland; Tinnerholm, Arnason, Carvalho, Yotun; Rodic, Adu, Lewicki, Sana; Rosenberg, Djurdjic. Subs - Johansson, Bengtsson, Vindheim, Brorsson, Rakip, Eikrem, Berget. Happy with the team. FRÅMAT MALMÖ!!! Kick off is in 50 minutes.
7. Wiland's transfer to Malmö is official, but we need another goalkeeper as Azinovic has been ruled out for the rest of the reason after he ruptured a tendon in his knee in the game against Žalgiris. He'll be missed off the field more than on the field as he's quite popular with his fellow teammates in the dressing room (he's not really a good goalkeeper). 2nd Round Results: Milsami Orhei 2 - 1 Ludogoretes Razgrad (agg: 3 - 1) Crusaders 3 - 2 Skënderbeu (agg: 4 - 6) Dila Gori 0 - 2 Partizan (agg: 0 - 3) Žalgiris Vilnus 0 - 1 Malmö FF (agg: 0 - 1) Lincoln 0 - 2 Midtjylland (agg: 0 - 3) Vardar 1 - 1 APOEL (agg: 1 - 1, APOEL win on away goals) Maccabi Tel-Aviv 5 - 1 Hibernians (agg: 6 - 3) Pyunik 1 -0 Molde (agg: 1 - 5) HJK Helsinki 1 - 0 Ventspils (agg: 4 - 1) Astana 3 - 1 Maribor (agg: 3 - 2) Steaua Bucureşti 2 - 3 Trenčín (agg: 4 - 3) Fola Esch 0 - 3 Dinamo Zagreb (agg: 1 - 4) Dundalk 0 - 0 BATE Borisov (agg: 1 - 2) Videoton 1 - 1 The New Saints (AET, agg: 2 - 1) Stjarnan 1 - 4 Celtic (agg: 1 - 6) Rudar Pljevlja 0 - 1 Qarabağ (agg: 0 - 1) Lech Poznań 1 - 0 FK Sarajevo (agg: 3-0) Just two major shocks in this round with Milsami Orhei of Moldova and Astana of Kazakhstan beating last seasons participants in the group stages, Ludogoretes and Maribor. There's also been an accusation of match fixing towards Skënderbeu: https://twitter.com/GraemeCCFC/statu...92358261747714 , https://twitter.com/ogers88/status/623609419566346241 , https://twitter.com/ogers88/status/623609726128009216 & https://i.imgur.com/cYwdJc1.jpg . It's not the first time they've been accused of match fixing. Google "Skënderbeu match fixing" and look at the results. The 3rd Round draw: Champions Route KKS Lech Poznań (POL) v FC Basel 1893 (SUI) FC Milsami Orhei (MDA) v KF Skënderbeu (ALB) HJK Helsinki (FIN) v FC Astana (KAZ) - Sorry Safir Celtic FC (SCO) v Qarabağ FK (AZE) FC Steaua Bucureşti (ROU) v FK Partizan (SRB) FC Midtjylland (DEN) v APOEL FC (CYP) Maccabi Tel-Aviv FC (ISR) v FC Viktoria Plzeň (CZE) GNK Dinamo Zagreb (CRO) v Molde FK (NOR) Videoton FC (***) v FC BATE Borisov (BLR) FC Salzburg (AUT) v Malmö FF (SWE) League Route Panathinaikos FC (GRE) v Club Brugge KV (BEL) BSC Young Boys (SUI) v AS Monaco FC (FRA) PFC CSKA Moskva (RUS) v AC Sparta Praha (CZE) SK Rapid Wien (AUT) v AFC Ajax (NED) Fenerbahçe SK (TUR) v FC Shakhtar Donetsk (UKR) My predictions in bold.
8. Finished 1-0 in the end. Zalgiris pretty much parked the bus over the two legs and made it hard for us. They can be proud of their performances, apart from their thuggishness in the 2nd leg. It looks like they wanted a wrestling match instead of a football match. Thought the referee had a good game today. Also a quick shout out to the three youngsters, Franz Brorsson, Erdal Rakip and the 16 year old debutant in goal Marko Johansson who had good games. It was Marko who started the attack which led to the goal. Anyway much improvement is needed to get past Salzburg. Rodic, Arnason, Carvalho and Djurdjic will be available for registration, and hopefully we'll finally get a new keeper (Wiland perhaps?), drop Yotun for Vindheim or perhaps we'll get a new LB and drop Eikrem who's been abysmal for the last couple of games. If I was the head coach, this would be my team against Salzburg: Wiland (?) Tinnerholm - Arnason - Bengtsson - Vindheim Rodic - Rakip - Lewicki - Berget Djurdijc - Rosenberg Interesting thing to note, only two players in the above line-up started against Salzburg in the 1st leg in last years match (Tinnerholm and Rosenberg). Six of the players who started in the 1st leg have left the club.
9. YES!!! 1-0! Tinnerholm with the goal!
10. Oh great! Our 2nd choice keeper, who's currently our temporarily 1st choice since we sold our actual 1st choice keeper without lining up a replacement has picked up an injury, so an 16 year old will replace him. Great work Daniel! Delighted for Marko though.
11. What a dull first half. I hope Yotun never ever plays for us ever again. Even Stevie Wonder can do a better job than him defensively. Whoever scouted him should be sacked. What a terrible signing he is.
12. We'll be fine. For some weird reason' date=' we're always play terribly in the first leg qualifying round of CL/EL. Last year against Ventspils, we drew 0-0 (went through 1-0 on aggregate). The year before in the EL, we drew Drogheda 0-0 (went through 2-0 on aggregate). If we beat Zalgiris, we'll face Red Bull Salzburg in the next round. A rematch of the epic play-off game from last year. Also it gives me an excuse to post this wonder goal: [url']http://www.goalopedia.com/goals/256

U21 CHAMPIONS!!!! :D Also what on earth has happened to this forum?! The new design has made it so slow and unresponsive. Edit: Images don't work for some reason. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CIx8RsxWoAAbweQ.png https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CIyILwrWwAA3Pf2.png Still haven't left Kurzawa alone after that incident. :D
