Middlesbrough set new club record
Middlesbrough smashed there previous club record for goals scored with a 10-0 demolition of Oxford United granted against a far from full strenght Oxford first team who were rested after yesterdays league game.
Middlesbrough were given a scare just after the start of the match when Andy Wright's shot from the edge of the box just went wide of Victor Valdes's goal Boro though hit back within 2 minutes when Dimitrios Salpigidis shot from just inside the penalty area and left the Oxford keeper motionless just 3 minutes later Boro were 2-0 up when Ferreira Wagner's excellent volley was only destined for once place Boro did not ease up on Oxford and in the 13th minute Markus Rosenberg curled a wonderful shot into the top corner that goal signaled a brief lull in play with Boro settling into a steady rythem and in the 23rd minute the Inevitable happed a 4th for Middlesbrough this time Baris Ozbek with a nice header from 8yds out despite sinking fast Oxford to there credit continued to try and in the 30th minute Halleson Philco headed just over this spelled a brief spell on the ball for Oxford with chances falling to Shinnie and Wright with the latter hitting the bar this spell of possession was abruptly ended when Dimitrios Salpigidis seized on a poor pass in the Oxford defence and round the keeper to add his 2nd of the game and just a minute later Markus Rosenberg added his 2nd to put Boro 6-0 up going into half time.

Eagles Complete Triple Swoop
Crystal Palace today completed their third transfer of the day with the capture of young Frenchman Kevin Gameiro from Strasbourg for £4.5m plus Velikonja. This after already signing long term signing Vaclav Kadlec from Crewe for £4.5m plus Rhys Williams and France goalkeeper Nicolas Douchez plus Assman from Toulouse.
£7m Signing Kevin Gameiro
"I couldn't see Assman improving anytime soon" explained Holt. "I will keep an eye on him, but we need somebody a little better at this moment in time and I thought Douchez was perfect for the job. I was also pleased with signing the young French striker Kevin Gamiero from RC Strasbourg. This kid is pure class and I see him having a bright future in the game.
New signing 29 year old Nicolas Douchez
Signing Kadlec has been my number 1 priority for sometime now. Its unfortunate that I only captured him due to Crewes poor finances, but I firmly believe I have bought the best 17 year old footballer in the World. I have already told him to forget about his £7m transfer fee as its meaningless and just to get on with improving his game. Although he will go straight into the World Famous Paul Holt Youth Academy proudly sponsored by Texaco (Nationally Focused, Nationally Admired ), I will also be calling him up to play in the first team to give the lad invaluable experience".
In other news, Holt has hit out again towards England and Rochdale manager Elliot Sutcliffe regarding his comments about defender James Collins. Crewe manager Sean Fitzpatrick revealed Sutcliffes comments in the media yesterday and Holt has reacted angrily over them.
"Regarding the comments made by our National manager towards Collins, I think he is out of order. Should Mr Fitzpatrick apologise for revealing his comments? absolutly not. Sean is a top gentleman which is the total opposite of Mr Sutcliffe. Mr Sutcliffe is a childish moron who has a mouth bigger than China and the brain the size of a petit pois. He has a reputation for spitting his dummy out whenever he disapproves of something. He needs to grow up and fast and I advise him to take a good look at Sean and use him as a role model. As for James Collins, I think he is a good defender. His positive attributes outweigh his negative ones 5 to 1 and I hope Mr Collins takes Elliots discraceful comments about him with a pinch of salt. And this is the guy who The FA chose to look after out England players? ttsskk"

RICHARDSON PLEASED WITH MUCH IMPROVED DISPLAY
Brentford 3-3 Crewe Alexandra
Brentford showed huge improvement in tonights friendly at Griffin Park with old rivals Crewe. In a stunning match which had an astonishing 54 shots on goal, provided 6 goals and a sending off. It seemed to be a friendly in name only.
The Brentford of old seemed to come out for the first time in a long time and Richardson must have been pleased with a confident opening display although the impressive Marat Izmailov did hit the side netting with a crisp effort after only two minutes. Mame Diouf showed his employers what they have to look forward to on his return with a curling effort that was a matter of inches past the far post. On ten minutes, former Crewe hitman Adrian Colunga was sent through on goal and his shot beat the keeper all ends up but came back off the post but he smashed the ball in at the second attempt. Brentford thoroughly deserved their lead and the home side could smell blood. Crewe just couldnt seem to handle Brentford going forward and just 60 seconds after the restart Jay Tabb fizzed in a dangerous ball across the face of goal and Colunga was just unable to get his outstretched leg to the ball. Manager Sean Fitzpatrick was raging on the touchline and his players tried to regroup. A dangerous cross from Eliah was met by Luka Modric but his header was dissapointing. Crewe began to get a foothold in the game, Izmailov hit a speculative 25 yard effort that Lewis did brilliantly well to tip onto the bar. Moments later Luka Modric had a glorious opportunity with an empty net after Izmailovs shot was parried away by Joe Lewis but the Croatian didnt impress his National manager nor his Club manager as he blasted his effort well over the bar. It proved a costly miss as Jay Tabb cut inside on the right hand side and let fly a great strike into the bottom corner to give Brentford a 2-0 lead. Just before the break though Marat Izmailov got the goal his play had threatened when he beat the offside trap and cooly slipped the ball between the legs of the keeper.
Crewe manager Sean Fitzpatrick must have had some strong words with his side at the interval. Crewe came out looking determined to get back on level terms. Just before the hour mark, Marat Izmailov proved to be the thorn in Brentfords side with a glorious curling effort that Joe Lewis could only watch in admiration as it bent into his top left hand corner to level the game. Gary Cahill spoiled Crewe's fightback with a stupid rant at referee Mohamed Benouza that earned him a second yellow card. Crewe manager Fitzpatrick gave the defender an icy glare as he went up the tunnel.
Diouf had the chance to put the Bee's 3-2 up but his shot was brilliantly cleared off the line by Bryan Ruiz. The follow up from Lassad was tipped over the bar by the man of the match Carrasso. With just three minutes remaining Izmailov looked to have won the game for Crewe with a stunning 25 yard thunderbolt into the top corner that Lewis got his fingertips to but the power on the shot meant he had little chance of keeping it out. Brentford didnt give up and substitute Rodriguez Pedro tormented Collins and his shot come cross was turned into his own net by Bryan Ruiz to make it 3-3.
Pedro after his effort was deflected in right at the death for 3-3
All in all a draw was possibly the right outcome for the effort both sides had put in and the amount of chances created. It would have been cruel on either side had they lost.
Quote:
I'm happy with how we attacked Crewe. We made it an open match and we actually started the game very well and deserved our lead. The goals we conceded were just pure quality and Sean has quite a player on his hands there. It is unusual to see three top drawer goals like that in one match. I think Joe has done very well in goal tonight and is unlucky to have lost three goals. If we can play like that most games for the remainder of the season, we will put real pressure on the sides in the play off zone.

Due to a personal reasons Danny Taylor was sacked as Coventry City manager, since this happened Danny has taken time out to get himself back to the standards of the setup and is looking to join back... He did a good job at City and is now looking for a new team within the setup to work his magic once again.

Cheltenham town 4 Millwall 1
Review
An awful night for Millwall at Cheltenham’s Whaddon road saw the Lions tumble back down the table after an unexpected 4-1 hammering from the Robins. In a one sided first half the Lions dominated proceedings, but after falling behind to a shock 9th minute opener from the near dead Antonia Vazquez, failed to convert a host of clear cut scoring chances. Millwall fared little better in the second half and just before the hour mark fell further behind as Town midfielder Aleksandr Ryazantsev finished well from just inside the box. Towns second signalled an all out attack from the Lions and after Dimitrov and Boselli replaced Ahumda and Graphite, they were rewarded with an 81st minute life line from Lemoines header. As the South Londoners threw everything forward into gaining an equalizing second goal, the exhausted Vazquez had just enough life left in his aching body to put points beyond doubt with a 87 minute, two goal blast to complete his hatrick. The defeat sees the Lions drop back down to 10th spot with next up a midweek visit to the New Den from Birmingham city.

Setanta Interview : Dave Izod !!
Dave Izod has agrred to come to our studios to be interviewed. We now welcom Dave Izod.
Rumours report that Loic REMY could possible leave Millwall to go out on loan. is this true ?
Absolutely not Loic is far to important to our aims this season to loan out to a division 2 rival. He has come on leaps and bounds lately, as both a striker and on the wing , and alongside Graphite, Boselli and Jose Marie Callejon he will form part of our attacking line up for many seasons to come.
You had a shocking 4-1 loss to Cheltenham Town. what went wrong ?
Plenty, poor finishing lapses in concentration at the back and I hate to say it a goalkeeping error for the third, it was an awful performance in a game I expected to win.
You are currently the manager of Mexico. How are you feeling managing Mexico ?
Its ok, I am doing as a favour for one of the Millwall board members Mr Fraser who has business interests in many South American countries including Mexico and Columbia.
We now have a caller on the line ...
Dave how are you going to fix your disappointing 4-1 loss ?
On the training pitch, starting nice and early on Sunday morning with a refreshing 5 mile cross country run.
who are you future transfers ?
Wait and see !
would you consider selling anyone ?
Several will soon be on their way Song and Mondragon are both approaching the end of their careers and come November I can see Jake Buxton, Steve Morrison and maybe Kryston Pearce leaving the reserves.
You had a great victory over Malta, how do you then lose 3-1 to hungry ?
Basically I underestimated them, and sent the lads out with instructions to attack at every opportunity. They played some great counter attacking football and well the rest is history, still we have learned a lot and will return to winning ways against Senegal next week.

Worst kept secret confirmed
Almunia- officially completed his move to Tranmere
The worst kept secret in English football has been confirmed with Manuel Almunia completing his move from Cardiff to Tranmere for a fee of 4 million pounds and German keeper Frank Rost. The move, already broadcast by both Setanta Sports and Sky Sports, will help to improve the finacial stability at Cardiff. Almunia, who has had stints at Arsenal, Wycombe Wanderers and Preston will replace 216 game veteran, Rost, in goals for Tranmere. Rost, however will replace Almunia.
The other player leaving Cardiff is Mexican born, Roman Morales. He said this when unveiled to Chivas de Guadalajara fans, 'I am happy to return to Mexico. I was not happy with the way the manager was employing me and the style of the team. I blame him for me not being in the recent Mexican squads and I feel that returning home could open the door to more national team opportunities.' Morales, who signed back in season 4 for 6.3million played 156 times for Cardiff, scoring 22 goals and 30 assists. His average match rating was a reasonable 6.87.
Manager Jared said this, 'I am happy with both deals. We get cash and a good replacement goalkeeeper. Morales is open to his opinion but I do not want to be distracted by his banter- maybe Swansea paid him to try and disrupt me. I'm sure of that! I can promise the fans that a very good talent is on there way to replace Morales and we should have left over cash to buy another enforcement in the squad.'
The final news from the Cardiff camp was Polish teenager, Patryk Malecki, who recently scored 4 goals against Sheffield Wednesday has officially been promoted to the first team.

Burrow blasted!!!
Jovetic: The player at the centre of the scandal
Cardiff manager Jared is again in the headlines with he most recent attack on another team. Earlier Jared was reported to claim that Roman Morales, a player who just left his squad, was paid by arch enemies Swansea to disrupt his season. Now he has blasted long time Preston 'legendary' manager James Burrow. This is what Jared had to say,' I am disgusted with James Burrow. He is a legendary manager in this setup but his recent behaviour has been disgusting. I saw this because after his side embarassing loss recently he went on record to say all of the players that played in that game were for sale but when I enquired about Jovetic he said it was a publicity stunt! This type of behaviour is unacceptable and wastes managers time.'
The jibe refers to this article posted earlier:

He said when he enquired about Jovetic, Burrow replied
Quote:
No, Im not selling, its just a publicity stunt
When SM Times tried to contact Burrow he was unavailable for comment.
In other news Jared confirmed a very much understrength side will take on Huddersfield in the Shield. He said 'Promotion is the focus. I will give some of the fringe and youth players a shot but I would much rather win promotion than win the cup and after speaking with the board and the players, they all have agreed with me.'

Murphy returns home
Crewe today completed the permanent signing of former England international Danny Murphy for a fee of £4.5million.
The 32 year old is returning to the club were he started out as a trainee following a succesful loan for the first half of the season.
Daniel Benjamin Murphy made his debut for Crewe in the 1993-4 season before moving on to Liverpool, Charlton and then Tottenham, prior to the commencement of his EC106 career.
An £8million transfer in season 2 saw him move from Spurs to Hull City, where he spent several succesful seasons before a continental move in season 6. 2 seasons later he was back in England with a £2.6mil move to Huddersfield where he soon became a bit player and was loaned out, first to Middlesbrough, and then to Crewe.
The move has been hailed by the Crewe fans, who have also seen the likes of Luka Modric, Gary Cahill and Manuel Friedrich join Crewe this season.
Despite his usual hatred for all things WAG & WAG related(Posh/Colleen/Cheryl Cole), it appears that Crewe boss Sean has welcomed Danny's wife Joanna Taylor with open arms.
Oh Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling
From glen to glen, and down the mountain side
The summer's gone, and all the flowers are dying
'Tis you, 'tis you must go and I must bide.
But come ye back when summer's in the meadow
Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow
'Tis I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow
Oh Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so.
