Ashley Williams was born on the 23rd of August 1984 in Wolverhampton. He began his career at West Bromich Albion but was released at the age of 16, he then joined Hednesford Town at 16, and played 34 games untill he joined Stockport in 2003, at 18 years old. With Stockport beating off competition from Oldham for the defender who impressed at Hednesford.
He featured in 162 league games for Stockport in his time their, scoring 3 goals. He impressed a lot of people since joining, and was a regular in the side at a very young age. He earned a call up to the Welsh National Team in March 2008, eligible through his Welsh Grandfather. Featuring against Luxembury on the 26th March, impressing Welsh boss John Toshack. And just 2 days later he secured a move to Swansea City, who were very likely to get promotion to the Coca-Cola Championship. He joined a loan-deal with a permanant move likely at the end of it. He featured 3 times for Swansea as they secured promotion to the Championship and settled in well, impressing from his first game.
He then signed for Swansea in the summer, for a fee of £400,000 and became Swansea's most exspensive player. He became a regular in the starting XI at Swansea, along side Captain Garry Monk in the centre of the Swansea defence. He helped Swansea reach their highest position in 26 years as they finished 8th in the league. He then continued his form in the 2009-2010 season, playing very well for both Swansea and Wales. He's played every league game of the season for Swansea, and has even covered in a holding midfield position with injury problems in midfield. Williams was then awared the Wales National Team's player of the year, and just days later he captained Wales to a 3-0 win over Scotland at the Cardiff City Stadium.
Is Ashley Williams the real deal, can he go on to better things and play in the premiership. I can sign him in one of my setups and money is no question, so i was just wondering wheteher his rating could go to like 88 in the future.
