    Squad Numbers

I was wondering whether it would be possible to give GM's the option to give their team squad numbers? I see it working like this - At the start of the season the manager is told to allocate his players with their squad numbers for the current season. The manager can still allocate squad numbers to ay other players at any stage during the season but the players that are not given squad numbers are not available for selection on the tactics screen. This should negate any need for a reserve squad and also tidy up the tactics screen as we will not have long lists of players to scroll through for anyone with a large squad. Any thoughts?

    uefa champions league fight

Re: uefa champions league fight haha, it's going to be Liverpool, because if they don't finish in the top 4 they'll go crying to UEFA like they did a couple of years ago and get in anyway.

Re: Gold Championship 9 - Match reports / Transfers thread Madrid Slip up to Betis. Madrid slipped up once more which now sees drop from 1st place, a placxe where they have been all season and have now fallen behind Varcelona into 2nd place. Jewiss was very unhappy,' We are going through a rough patch and its not good enough, we have lost 2 games on the trot and thats not good enough. Overall its not good enough to see us in 2nd. A lot of people would expect me to be happy with second, with Barcelona, but i am not we have a great squad and i am looking to stregnthen in the middle of the park. Yes i have been talking to the Liverpool coach Dan who has said the players which he would like in exchange, and i am currently in negotiations with him about who we are going to exchange, although 1 of the players we have both agreed about. Gerrard would obviously be a great addition to our squad but we will have to wait and see. EDIT: At 19:55 hours a deal was done on the well known MSN engine. The deal is Toure and Diarra for Gerrard. This will meant that Madrid will need to reshuffle the formation from 3-4-3 to 4-4-2 but is a setback i am willing to take. He is a great player and negotiations are in progress, i have only just received notification that he is available and i am not too sure whether we shall be making a bid but i am of course interested. The match: Madrid went a goal behind from a clever finish from Mark Gonzalez. Despite being outplayed for a lot of the game, Madrid then managed to get one back through Voronin after a set of slick passes and a clver finish. Betis then had a player sent off, Juanito, for diving and play acting, surely not worthy of a red card. But, this seemed to inspire Betis who came out after half time and ran Madrid ragged. Pavone scored shorty after and that was it,Madrid lost again and Jewiss was not best pleased.

The deal however sees young duo Vincent Kompany and Arda join the cup plus a small 3m in cash to include the deal. Vincent Kompany is a young, well rated centre back from Belgium. " Im not nervous, the team's very much changed since the last team they played in the Champs cup 2 seasons ago, so we start very much from fresh," " Best of all, we must enjoy the occasion, we played every friday now up until March in the elite competition around, which isn't a bad thing at all," TOM DOESNT RULE OUT MORE SIGNINGS Valencia's presidents have told manager Greenfield he has no reason to hesitate on big money signings, and is allowed to splash the cash as much as he wants. Allardyce leaves Newcastle

Re: Allardyce leaves Newcastle Having lived an worked in Northumberland and Newcastle for the last 13 years I think I am within my rights to say the following. Yesterdays result (6-0 v Man U) just highlights the problems at Newcastle United. A really bad week for the club has seen them get their just desserts at the end of it. The board should be ashamed of themselves for trying to heap all of the blame for what has happened to this club over the last few years on one man. Getting rid of Sam Allardyce is a mistake. The bloke has a proven track record in club management and what he did at Bolton was nothing short of a miracle. The problem with every aspect of Newcastle from the fans all the way up to the Chairman and Chief Exec is that anyone attached with the club has a superiority complex. They think they are a big club and they think they have an automatic right to be in the top 4/5 every year. The number of managers since Kevin Keegan left only compounds this arguement. Every summer I have to put up with the locals saying who is going to be coming to Newcastle. Over the last few years Ive heard them talk about Ronaldinho, Rooney, Raul, Torres, Beckham to name but a few. All of who were supposed to be wearing black & white the following season. Also when the managerial vacancy comes up. Klinnsman, Mourinho, Wenger have all been spotted in hotels down the Quayside. What gives the fans of Newcastle the idea that they have a god given right to have world class within their club? Having 55k passionate supporters filling your ground every other week does not automatically qualify you for Europe or bring you trophies. What they need is a manager to come in and be given some time. Someone like Allardyce. At Bolton he did great but Bolton are not the most fashionable club in Europe (No offence to Trotters fans). Allardyce siezed his chance to ply his trade with a club with more resources, a bigger fan base and one that was more well known throughout Europe. At the first sign of trouble the board ditched him just a few days before they were due to play at Old Trafford. Long term success cannot happen overnight. We all know about Man Utd and Fergie and how it was a good 4 years before they even thought of sacking him and all that. This is what Newcastle need to do. Find a good young manager and stick with him. Take the rough that comes with it over the first couple of years because sooner or later it will pay dividends. Get this chip off your shoulder about being a 'Big' club languishing in the bottom half of the table. You are not a big club - open your trophy cabinet and that will tell you everything. Don't jump on the manager's back at the first sign of trouble. You call yourself some of the most loyal supporters in the land. Show your loyalty then. In fact there are only about 18k supporters who can give themselves this name. They were the ones rattling around St James' when Ossie Ardilles was in charge and the team were close to relegation from the old second division (now the Championship). In short get rid of this superiority complex you have, get a manager worth his salt and stick with him or the next few years are going to be just as bad.

    Spanish Ratings

Re: Spanish Ratings A couple players i feel are worth the buy and will increase in ratings. Some been mentioned and in that case here's just my opinion on them :L). BRUNO, Soriano - (Villareal) left winger.23yrs old,76 rating and has been a surprise regular this season.Should rise to 81. ÁNGEL , Martinez - (Espanyol) Spanish midfielder who is 21 and rating 81.Has started 11 matches and scored 2 goals in a team which is 3rd in La Liga table right now. With the rest of the Espanyol midfield 86+ this guy will rise to an 85/86 rating. KOIKILI , Lertxundi - (Atletic Bilbao) Spanish left back who is 27yrs old and 76 rating. Was bought to be a reserve for Del Horno but now this guy is the regular at left back with Del Horno on the bench. With 13 appearances and 1 goal this guy could be the best signing in the spanish ratings and i would give him a 85 rating. INIGO, Vélez - (Real Murcia) Spanish forward who is 25yrs old and 74 rating.11 games and 1 goal to date which aint a good scoring record, but should rise to an 83/84. SERGIO ASENJO, Andrés - (Valladolid) Young Spanish keeper has attracted lots of attention due to his performances this season. With a 75 rating and only 18yrs old starting 6 games this season he's been compared to Iker Casillas.Rise to 80 but nxt few weeks i would give him an 81 if still starting. ANGEL MONTORO, Sanchez - (Valencia) Surprise inclusion in the Valencia line up vs Barcelona but has since started 3 games.19yrs old,75 rating will rise to a 78 this time around but has the potential to reach an 85 nxt ratings if still getting games. FAZIO, Federico - (Sevilla) This Argentinian centre back has impressed for Sevilla this season and has played 12 games.23yrs old now and 83 rating, like mentioned in the thread should increase to an 86/87 rating. DIEGO CAPEL, Trinidad - (Sevilla) 19yr old Spanish winger who has bags of talent.Played 13 games this season and has a 83 rating. I think he will rise to a 87. LUIS FABIANO, Clemente - (Sevilla) 12 games,12 goals puts Fabiano as the top scorer of La Liga. This 27yr old Brasilian has found his scoring form this season and should rise from 90 to atleast 91 but pushing for 92. SUSAETA, Markel - (Atletic Bilbao) Susaeta is 20yrs old and 78 rating.Hs position is right midfield and he has played 13 games this season.I expect him to rise to an 83/84. Jus opinions and i expect all to be +/- 1 rating .

Re: Players regaining Fitness.. may be he should regain half the norm fitness in the last week then..so norm a player would get about 10-11% a day in fitness.. so how about in the last week of injury he gets say 5% a day back in fitness so he would be nearer full fitness that he would be...
