  1. Re: Forumer Of The Year 2008 - (Qualifying) - Group 1 To be fair to me though, it seems a couple of comments on here unjust. I did intially say when the seeds were sorted(because some may recall i was seeded) that i didnt feel i should be taking part as my contribution this year hasnt been great. I was then put into a qualifying group but was still unsure why. This year i have posted 126 times, probably more than most also in this qualifying phase so it's not as if i havent been here. If i go through i apologize as being 30years old i dont need to be part of a popularity contest. It seems alot of people take this a bit too seriously but then they are all alot younger than me, must be maturity . So i appeal to all not too vote for me and let someone more deserving through, i really dont need a forumer of the year title to know i am a top bloke . p.s this will be my 127th post.

  2. Do whatever you want with these stats. I have searched hard and put a lot of research into scouting quite a few leagues, and I will update the stats every 5 games if possible, with players to watch and current lineups. Starting off with Brazil, who just played the 15 th game of the season. Here goes. I will also say that the updates might not always be right after the games are played. I have a full time job and will go to university, so a lot of my free time goes to this. I do it because I love it, not cause I have tons of time on my hands. HERE ARE ALL THE POSTS BRAZIL : 15 GAMES (You are reading it) AUSTRIA : 5 GAMES SWITZERLAND : 5 GAMES BRAZIL : 20 GAMES DENMARK : 5 GAMES SLOVAKIA : 5 GAMES MEXICO : 5 GAMES NAUTICO Rank : 13 Most common starting 11 : Eduardo G 31 85 Everaldo Batista CB 34 85- Vagner CB 25 84- Negretti CB 20 80 Alceu DM 24 85 - Paulo Almeida DM 27 81 Ruy RM 29 85 - Geraldo AM 34 85 Wellington F 20 83 - Felipe F 30 86 Players of note : Negretti CB 20 80 - 11 starts Gilmar F 24 76 - 3 starts, 4 subs, 1 goal Players missing from real life clubs : Laborde Wesley Thiago Luizao Eduardo Ere Anderson CORITIBA Rank : 7 Most common starting 11 : Edson Bastos Barreto G 28 83 Felipe CB 21 71 - Nene CB 33 83 - Mauricio CB 23 82 - Ricardinho LB 23 83 Carlinhos Paraiba CM 25 82 - Ale CM 19 82 Rodrigo Ribeiro ??? - Michael AM 26 84 Keirrison F 19 83 - Hugo CF 19 82 Players of note : Felipe CB 21 71 - 9 starts, 1 sub Guaru LB 26 72 - 5 starts, 4 subs, 1 goal Henrique CF 24 75 - 2 starts, 7 subs Players missing from Real life clubs : Rodrigo Ribeiro Jecimauro Jose Borges Florescu Dirceu Cadu Arilton Andrade IPATINGA Rank : 20 Most Common starting 11 : Fred G 24 83 Mariano RB 22 85 - Gian CB 25 82 - Thiago Vieira CB 30 78 - Edimar ??? Marko Mitrovic

This upcoming year a new U17 starlet is yet to be awoken! Marko Mitrovic was bought my Chelsea during the winter transfer market of 2008. In Sweden they call him the next Ibrahimovic. The starlet has a chance to play for Sweden or Serbia in the future. Currently, he's playing with the U17 team of Sweden and recently they played a couple of preperation games for the European Championship that's coming up very soon. Marko Mitrovic ended up scoring 7 goals in 4 games! Robin Söder - IFK

This boy is only 17, played for IFK Goteborg in their 5-0 demolition of SS Murata in CL qualifying. He scored one and i believe he set up another, and proved to be a pain to the Murata defense. Im not saying he will set the world alight by any means, but i do believe that if IFK do get through to CL main stage he will be in with a lot of runs as the manager has a lot of faith in him. As a lot of his team mates are in the mid 80's, he will be well-worth buying either as a money spinner or for your lower league club. he is not on the DB

    Manager 'Sack Race'

Note: This is just for fun, no prizes on offer, but still join in. Who will be the first to be sacked this season? Last season it was Jose Mourinho. I will make a poll with nine managers plus an 'Other' option. If you do select 'Other' you must state what your choice is. The poll is public so I can see who has voted so I can check the list of 'Other' voters against names on the thread. Also, if a manager leaves to join another club (e.g. Mark Hughes and Steve Bruce last season) that does not count as a sacking. Here is the list of managers: Tony Pulis Tony Mowbray Phil Brown Gareth Southgate Roy Keane Roy Hodgson Gary Megson Steve Bruce Alan Curbishley Other (please state) Have fun and hope lots of members take part in this. Good Luck!!

  8. Re: Gold Championship 19 Match Report and Transfer News Larisa (5th) Vs Olympiakos (1st) In midweek, Olympiakos face theyre first away game of the season against Larisa who have shown on Matchday 1 there not going to be played around with after beating Panithanikos by a goal to nill. The ovious threats they do have are Polish Ex-Celtic striker Marej Zurawski and loanee Wyane Bridge who wont take no prisioners at the back. Olympiakos on the other hand are playing a stronger squad than ran over Crete on Saturday. Foggia will deputaise and be in the Starting Eleven for the match. Both Torosdis and Salas are expected to start whlist new loanee Eguren is expected to be on the bench, unless Ledesma leaves before Wednesday. The Alkazar Stadium (13,108) should provide as some hostile atmosphere for Olympiakos. Toggs does think so that the side will take the game seriously as he expects, and show Larisa his side are more than ready too dominate Greece and then the world. Expected XI --------------Nikoplodis-------------- ----Tosordis---Antzas---Thinen---- -Belluschi--Ledesma--Stoltdis--Barnetta- --------------Foggia-------------- -------Gomis--------Salas------- Transfer Front Toggs is chasing both Dutch International Dirk Kuyt and Spanish striker Alvaro Negredo. SSN understands that both Christian Raul Ledesma and LuaLua are involved in the deals. Toggs hopes to tie up a deal soon for one of them.

    Should I Sell Hladky

Re: Should I Sell Hladky He is much better than Derdiyok. Derdiyok may rise 1 or 2 for his Euros performances, but in Switzerland he won't go much higher. And other than that, all you have is Fabiano in CF, so I would keep Hladky in case Fabiano gets injured/suspended or for cup matches when his condition is low. On a sidenote -> Luke, do you think I should go for Pogrebnyak or Hladky? Could Hladky reach 91 any time soon? And could Pograbnyak rise to 92 any time soon?

Re: Should I Sell Hladky i was thinking about selling this player too, wont rise any time soon due to being in the summer leagues, and so i was more on the lines of thinking about a straight swap for acosta... same age and rating but more likely to rise imo

Re: Should I Sell Hladky Depends on your other position strengths and weaknesses. I actually had hladkyi from when he was 84 and sold him to buy marek hamsik same age same rating, but I needed a midfielder who I believe has more chances of getting a higher ranking sooner.

    Erwin Hoffer

Erwin Hoffer is a 21-year-old striker already mentioned as part of a list in an earlier thread by Chelsea1992, but I think he now deserves his own thread. Why? The numbers speak for themselves. Born in Baden bei Wien, Austria, on the 14th of April, 1987, Erwin Hoffer played for youth clubs SC Haidhof, FC Tribuswinkel, Badener AC, and Admira Wacker Mödling before signing for VfB Admira Wacker Mödling, where he spent the 2004/2005 and 2005/2006 seasons. He produced four goals during his 21 appearances there before being signed by previous Austrian Bundesliga victors Rapid Vienna. Since then, he has participated in 52 games, scoring a total of 14 goals for the club. He has also made progress internationally: 9 goals in 13 U-17 games, 0 in 2 U-18 games, 5 in 10 U-19 games, 4 in 8 U-20 games, and 6 in 12 U-21 games. He is now in the full Austrian national team, with which he has played 5 games and is yet to find a goal. This 21-year-old forward is likely to increase in his rating, which is currently at 85 in SM.

    Need A Good Young CF

Re: Need A Good Young CF Of those players I would say 1. Pogrebnyak 2. Bendtner 3. Gomis And a young player you may want to watch out for is David N'Gog. Young Liverpool striker rated 82 expected to be a part of the first team so he could see a nice rise during the season.

    Need A Good Young CF

Re: Need A Good Young CF My 3 to go for in this order are ... Pogrebnyak ... will be interesting to see him in the CL this year. Bendtner could get a lot more playing time upfront with adebayor .. Negredo .. young and i think 89 rated around 22 year old .. ould be up for a rise

    Chermiti

was mentioned in players ratings and not in the scout. A 20 year old Tunisian who plays for etoil. Is renowned for his amazing skill and goal scoring ability. In the final of the African Champions league his team drew 1-1 with Al-Ahly (who were olders of the comp for three years running). His team had to go to Egypt and beat a team that hasn't lost in 4 years:eek: and thanks to Chermiti thats what happened. the player scored 3 goals in the final which ended 3-1.

  25. Is an Egyptian striker (21 years old). who started out in Al-ahly youth team where he scored an incredible 60 goals in his ast season with them before moving to al-Zamalek who sold there star striker Amr Zaki to wigan. This leaves a spot open for Sherif to claim a regular place in the team. his rating is now 82, It should easily go 85-89 range as the season progresses.

    Team Guides

Re: Team Guides OLYMPIQUE LYONNAIS Goalkeepers Hugo Lloris (21/90) - Hugo Lloris will become France's top choice after Gregory Coupet's departure to Atletico Madrid. Last season Hugo Lloris played for OGC Nice clocking up a total of 2636 minutes in 30 games. Remy Vercoutre (28/86) - Remy Vercoutre had a lot of playing chances last season due to Gregory Coupet's injury, but it seems like he will continue to become a super sub this season with Hugo Lloris's arrival at the club. Last season, he played 19 games, clocking up a total of 1710 minutes. Johan Hartock (21/Not on DB) - Johan Hartock is the third choice goalkeeper at Olympique Lyonnais. He is yet to make a debut for the French champions and probably will only manage to make the bench as Hugo Lloris and Remy Vercoutre will take the first team spots. Defenders Fabio Grosso (30/92) - The squad's only left back after Nadir Belhadj left to Lens in the January transfer window and is Italy's top left back as well. Last season he played 30 games, totaling 2750 minutes, scoring one goal and receiving five yellow cards and one red card. Francois Clerc (25/90) - Finally managed to establish a name at the Gerland after playing 27 games, a total of 1933 minutes, and scoring a goal. Will replace Antoine Reveillere and take the spot for himself very soon but it will be hard for him to become a regular for the France National Team because of Bakary Sagna. Anthony Reveillere (28/89) - Had another decent season last year, playing 28 games and scoring once, a total of 2064 minutes. I do not understand why SM decreased him, although he was a regular for Olympique Lyonnais Marques Cris (31/91) - The Brazilian defender only managed to play 13 games and score one goal after a terrible injury which sidelined him for many months. Marques Cris is likely to keep the starting spot as Sebastian Squillaci left to Sevilla and Lyon are yet to sign a new replacement. Jean-Alain Boumsong (28/88) - Joined Lyon from Juventus last season and played only eight games last season after coming in January. Probably will be substitute for John Mensah and Marques Cris this season, but do not think that this Newcastle United flop won't have a chance to play. John Mensah (25/88) - The Ghanian captain played for Rennes last season and only just moved to Lyon this summer as one of Sebastian Squillaci's replacement. He is probably going to start alongside Marques Cris next season. Played 25 games, totaling 2159 minutes last season. The Ghanian has been linked with many Premier League clubs but chose to stay in France Sandy Paillot (21/75) - The young French prodigy has had a very good debut season last year, and managed to have his eleven-minute debut for Lyon before being loaned out to Grenoble Foot 38 where he played 11 games, and winning 920 minutes. He is set to rise soon. Midfielders Roman Beynie (21/Not on DB) - We don't know too much about this kid. He is yet to make a debut for Lyon and probably won't for some time to come. Mathieu Bodmer (25/91) - Mathieu Bodmer has been a key figure of Lyon last season, playing 37 games, totaling 2673 minutes and scoring 6 goals for the French champions. This tall midfielder will have his chances reduced by some bit after the arrival of Honorato Ederson, Jean Makoun and Miralem Pjanic Honorato Ederson (22/89) - Honorato Ederson is also a new signing from OGC Nice along with Hugo Lloris and has had a very impressive last season playing 36 games, scoring 7 goals totaling 3145 minutes which was very great and he was awarded with a move to France's biggest team. This move might affect his career though as there is a lot of competition in the team. Sidney Govou (28/92) - Has always been Lyon's top winger and is also one of France's best wide players. Sidney Govou was the club's third best goalscorer, knocking in seven goals in 32 games last season in a total of 2191 minutes. Still set to be Alain Perrin's top choice. Clement Grenier (17/Not on DB) - Clement Grenier is a product from the Lyon Youth System but has yet to make a debut for Lyon. However he looks very promising but his chances are very slim due to the consistency of his current team-mates. He might have to be loaned out soon. Pernambucano Juninho (33/95) - Lyon's best player by far. He dictates play at the club, and also scores a handful of goals each season. Last season he played 32 games in the league and managed to score 8 goals, mostly from excellent free-kicks and he is still going to play top football for a few more years although he is already 33. Pernambucano Juninho is an indispensable player at Lyon. Kim Kallstorm (25/92) - The Swedish International joined Lyon two seasons ago and has played an amazing 70 games out of a possible 76, scoring 8 goals and clocking up a total of 2534 minutes last season. Kim Kallstorm is set to have some fierce competition this season, but nevertheless he is still a great player. Kader Abdul Keita (26/91) - Had a slow start to the season last year after an impressive season at LOSC Lille, Kader Keita was deemed as a flop for his expensive fee but soon impressed many fans and pundits as he went on to play 30 games and scored 4 goals that season and looks to shine this season. Jean Makoun (25/90) - The new signing at Gerland will have to impress Alain Perrin if he wants to break into the starting eleven since the Lyon midfield has been very consistent last season. Jean Makoun only managed to play 26 games and score 2 goals last season for LOSC Lille due to playing in the African Cups of Nations. Said Mehamha (18/Not on DB) - The 18 year old midfielder is yet to play a single game for Lyon and probably will have to look for loan options to get some first team football action and then return to Lyon like Clement Grenier. Miralem Pjanic (18/85) - Definitely one to watch out for this season being Metz's best player last season and if he had better team-mates, FC Metz could have survived the drop. Hopes dual nationalities of Luxembourg and Bosnia, the playmaker played 32 games and scored 3 goals for FC Metz last season and those performances impressed Jean Aulas to bring him to Gerland. Barbosa Fabio Santos (27/87) - The Brazilian midfielder can not be described as anything except for a fringe player at Lyon. He has only managed to play 16 games for Lyon in two years, all due to injuries. Definitely not one to keep hold of. He has suffered a broken cheek and a fractured eye socket and will be out for a few months against Nancy in a friendly match. Jeremy Toulalan (24/93) - One of the best holding midfielders in the world at the moment and definitely France's best holding midfielder. Has been nothing short of impressive after joining from Nantes and played 62 games, clocking up almost 5000 minutes in two seasons. Pierrick Valdiva (18/Not on DB) - Another example like Clement Grenier and Said Mahamia. Needs to be loaned out for first team football. Forwads Karim Benzema (20/93) - Karim Benzema is one of the world's biggest prospects and was France's top goalscorer last season, scoring 20 goals in 36 games. Certainly one of the best French forwards out there and is set to follow the legendary footsteps of Just Fontaine, Michel Platini and Thierry Henry. He is only 20 years old and a beautiful future lies in front of him. Cesar Delgado (26/90) - Cesar Delgado was bought from Cruz Azul in January but failed to make a great impact playing only 7 games totaling 222 minutes last season. We will wait and see how he does next season. Chaves Fred (24/91) - Another Michael Owen case when injury has wrecked such a promising career. After a great 2005-06 season, he got injured many times and only managed to play 20 games but nevertheless still got an impressive 7 goals. Anthony Mounier (20/71) - Will probably not break into the first team for a while but managed to get eleven minutes of first team action last season. Should be loaned out. Frederic Piquionne (29/89) Lyon finally manage to sign the Frenchman after 18 months of endless negotiations and many arguments when he was still as Saint-Etienne, one of Lyon's biggest rivals. Frederic Piquionne scored 7 goals in 32 appearances for Monaco last season in 2174 minutes. Yannis Tafer (17/Not on DB) - One of Lyon's most promising players. For more information on him, please visit threads made by R.B.C and Insider. Is yet to make a debut though. Must Keep Hugo Lloris Fabio Grosso Francois Clerc Antoine Reveillere Marques Cris Sandy Paillot Pernambucano Juninho Kim Kallstorm Jeremy Toulalan Miralem Pjanic Sidney Govou Kader Keita Karim Benzema Must Sell Remi Vercoutre Jean-Alain Boumsong Sylvain Idangar Barbosa Fabio Santos Cesar Delgado

  32. Re: Gold Championship 18 Match Reports / Transfers Thread Celtc 1 - 2 Rangers Rangers win first derby of the season Despite having 63% of posession, Rangers could only manage two shots on target compared to Celtc's ten. Although they had five times as many shot, Rangers finished all their on-goal attempts. Born-finisher Kris Boyd got one, with wantaway striker Daniel Cousin getting the other. Massimo Donati had put Celtc ahead but Rangers' resiliance got them the win in the end in front of a 60,831 crowd at the Glitterdome. Just one off full attendance. Rangers next played Manchester United in a glamour friendly. Rangers 2 - 1 Manchester United Rangers done it again, winning by the same scoreline, and even the same posession . This time they managed 30 shots on goal, with Daniel Cousin and Lee McCulloch getting the goals. Alberto Zapater was sent off in the clash, although this won't be forwarded into the next match. Net up it Dundee United tonight at Ibrox and manager Russell hopes they can get all three points after a 1-1 draw against Motherwell at Ibrox in the season opener.

  34. Re: A Guide To The Americas Part 2 #1 Carlos Carmona Carmona Whilst At Coquimbo Unido. Here is my first find of the new thread, and he won't dissapoint you. His name is Carlos Carmona, and he is from somewhere where it isn't very chilly, Chile. He was born on the 21st February 1987 in Coquimbo, Chile, and he is 1.78m in height. Coquimbo, Chile - Carmona's Hometown. Back in 2005, Carmona burst onto the international scene during the 2005 Fifa U20 World Cup, he started 1 of Chile's 4 games against African side, Morocco. He was an unused substitute for 'La Roja's' first two Group C games against the Honduras and Spain, but played a full 90 minutes in Chile's final Group C match, against Morocco. Chile progressed to the round of 16, where tournament holders Holland stood in their way of a place in the last 8. Chile succombed to a 3-0 defeat, with Carmona replacing Ivan Vasquez in the 46th minute. This was an interesting debut tournament for the young midfielder, he was the youngest member of the Chile squad. During the same year, Carmona was also a member of U20 Chile side that participated at the 2005 South American U20 Championship, he made 5 appearances in 9 matches, whilst being the youngest member of the squad again. Chile's opening game in the first stage came against Uruguay, Carmona was an unused substitute in a 0-0 draw. The next game saw Carmona make his debut in the competition, replacing Fernando Meneses in the 78th minute, with Chile taking the spoils by 3 goals to 2. Next up were the always tricky, Brazil. Unfortunately, Carmona sat on the bench for the entire game, with Brazil handing Chile their first defeat, by beating them 4-2. Carmona missed the final first stage match against Ecuador because of injury, but Chile still taught Ecuador a lesson in how to play football, by convincingly thumping them 5-1. 'La Roja' progressed to the final stage of the competition, and first up were Colombia. Chile were narrowly beaten 3-4 in a thrilling match, with Carmona replacing Jose Pedro Fuenzalida in the 77th minute, his second appearance of the tournament. Would Carmona get a starting 11 berth in the 2nd final stage match? Yes, he did. The start came against tournament favourites Argentina, Carmona was booked early on, in the 21st minute and was later replaced by Ricardo Parada in the 64th minute, nethertheless a start. The match ended level, at 2-2. Another place in the starting 11 followed against Venezuela, this time Carmona was replaced in the 46th minute by Sebastian Montesinos, but with Chile winning 2-3. However, Carmona started his third game in succession, with Brazil being the oponents. He played a full 90 minutes, but gained a booking in the 32nd minute. Chile still crawled to a 2-2 loss though. This booking was a blow to Carmona, as he had already picked up one earlier in the final stage. This meant he was suspended for Chile's final game against Uruguay. Chile picked up a point from the encounter, after a 2-2 draw. Carmona probably would have started, had he have been available for selection. A good tournament for Carmona, with 3 starts (2 against the best U20 sides in South America, if not the world), and 2 substitute appearances. The 2007 editions of the Fifa U20 World Cup and the South American U20 Championship, both featured Carmona once again. He featured in 4 of Chile's 7 games at the Fifa U20 World Cup. The first group stage pitted Chile against Canada, Congo and Austria, and Carmona started all 3 of the games. The first match was against Canada, with Carmona scoring in the 54th minute with a header, and playing a full 90 minutes, nothing was ever going to stop Chile from winning, the full time score was 0-3. Next up were African side, Congo. Carmona once again played the full 90 minutes, helping Chile to a comfortable 3-0 win. Their final group match came against Austria, who frustrated Chile, and held them to an exciting 0-0 draw. This is where Carmona's tournament lost its sparkle. He picked up an injury and had to be substituted in the 29th minute, by Gary Medel. Carmona captained the side for all 3 matches. Chile progressed to the round of 16 where Portugal were their oponents. Carmona was an unused substitute in the 1-0 win for Chile. A 4-0 win against Nigeria in the quarter finals followed, with Carmona replacing super striker Nicolas Medina in the 46th minute, and picking up a booking in the 91st minute. Chile were finally beaten in the semi finals, against a very strong Argentina side 0-3. Carmona was an unused substitute. 'La Roja' had a chance to get 3rd place against Austria (who they drew with in the group stages). They delivered and deservedly won 0-1. However Carmona was once again left in the dugout for the full match. The tournament started brightly for Carmona, but gradually got worse as Chile progressed, but the South American U20 Championship 2007 proved to be completely different. Carmona started all 9 of Chile's games, proving himself to be a supurb captain and midfield maestro. Chile's first game came against Brazil, Carmona played the full 90 minutes and was booked in the 37th minute. Brazil showed their class and won the match 4-2. Paraguay were next, and scraped a 1-0 win over 'La Roja', Carmona playing a full 90 minutes for the second match in succession. A 0-4 thrashing of Bolivia followed that, with Carmona playing the full 90 minutes again. A crucial victory for Chile, whose confidence needed lifting. Peru were next, and Carmona captained the side to a 2-4 victory, once again playing the whole match. With 2 wins and 2 losses, Chile progressed to the final stage of the competition. Colombia were up first, and Chile showed the other countries what they were all about with a comprehensive 0-5 victory, with Carmona playing his fifth successive 90 minutes, and picking up a booking in the 27th minute. Brazil who beat Chile in the first group stage followed the Colombia match, and a 2-2 draw was the final score. Carmona yet again playing the whole 90 minutes. One tough country, was followed by another as Argentina were up next for Chile. 0-0 was the result, and Carmona completed another 90 minutes. Draws were becoming all to common for Chile as a 1-1 draw against Uruguay followed. Carmona kept his record of never being substituted or a non starter, as he played another 90 minutes. Paraguay who edged Chile 1-0 earlier in the tournament were Chile's final game, and a win by one goal was again the result, with Paraguay winning 3-2. Carmona completed his excellent tournament with another full 90 minute display. Altogether Carmona completed around 810 minutes of football, captaining the side in every minute. Next up on Carmona's International calender came the Toulon U21 Tournament 2008, this is a competition with 8 countries competing in it. He featured in 4 of Chile's 5 games. Chile were placed in group A with France, Holland and Japan, and first up were France. In a truly entertaining game Chile triumphed 3-5 winners, with Carmona playing 73 minutes before being replaced by Boris Sagredo. A more comfortable 0-2 win over Holland followed, with carmon aplaying the full 90 minutes. Carmona grabbed his first goal of the tournament in Chile's final group game against Japan, with a stunning 40 yard volley in the 75th minute. The final score was 2-0 to Chile and Carmona gained a booking in the 26th minute. Heartbreak was to hit Carmona in the semi finals against the Ivory Coast though, with Carmona only one booking away from suspension, a booking was to be avoided at all costs. Unfortunately, he was booked in the 34th minute. This was highly debatable and it ruled Carmona out of the final, if Chile got there. Chile ran out 2-1 winners, with Carmona playing the full match, and helping his beloved country whilst he could. Carmona's absence for the final, didn't help Chile, and they succombed to a 0-1 loss to Italy. RM, LM, DM and CM Are All Possible Positions For Carmona. This Player Is On The DB - Rated 83 - RM/LM - Aged 21 - Reggina - Rating Change +3 This Player Is Valued By SM At - £3,543,000 Carmona's Spectacular Volley Against Japan. On the positive side, Carmona's performances not only propelled him into the limelight, but he was then called up for Chile's 2010 World Cup Qualifying games against Bolivia and Venezuela. On the 15th June 2008 Carmona started the game against Bolivia, completing a full 90 minutes, and helping Chile to a 0-2 victory. 4 days later, on the 19th June 2008, Carmona once again played the full 90 minutes, this time against rapidly improving Venezuela. He also picked up his first senior intrenational booking, in the 16th minute. His performances were of a high standard, with people highly impressed in Chile. Now onto the domestic side of things. From 2003-2005 Carmona was making a name for himself in his hometown's football clubs' youth academy (Coquimbo Unido). From 2005-2007, Carmona was in Coquimbo's first team squad, making 92 appearances, scoring 7 goals at a very young age. He moved to O'Higgins for the 2008 season in Chile, and it didn't take long for him to settle in. The 2008 Apertura bought 13 starts and 1 substitute appearance for the youngster. His goals came on the 8th March 2008 against Metipilla in the 5th minute, the 19th April 2008 agaianst La Serena in the 64th minute and finally on the 30th April 2008 against Universidad De Chile in the 5th minute, a tally of 3 goals in 14 appearances altogether. I do see a problem with Carmona's playing style based on this statistic though: 8 bookings. Discipline is a much needed necessity throughout the modern game, he must cut out these bookings if he is to become a top class player in Europe. The Clausura 2008 bought 3 starts and 2 more bookings, before Carmona took a big step in his career: To join Italian Serie A side Reggina. He officially moved to Italy on the 18th July 2008. From Coquimbo Unido (Left), To O'Higgins (Center) And Now Reggina (Right). Personal Viewpoint - I am very excited by this young prospect, as his physical style of play may suit Italian football. I am also anxious to find out where Reggina will play him, he was used on either wing in Chile at Domestic level, but on the international scene, he is played in either the holding role or the centre of midfield, in my opinion his best position. Who knows what the future brings, but hopefully it will be a bright one for Carlos Carmona.

Together, we will find out more youngsters and hot prospects and information about them as we go through the country that has brought us stars like Rafael Marquez, Omar Bravo and Pavel Pardo and with many future prospects such as Giovani Dos Santos and Andres Guardado and to lesser-known players like Efrain Juarez and Jonathan Dos Santos The players in this list do not necessarily need to be unknown, I am just giving extra information on the players to provide you information and knowledge on them. All the players that will be mentioned have to be under 24 years of age and feel free to message me any suggestions. We will start off with some background information of the country's football history. Note: These players are not my find, they are hot prospects that need singling out.
