  3. Mario Kirev is a tall youngster playing for Slavia Sofia. He was given a chance to shine due to Yordan Gospodinov's injury and so far he's played in 4 league games [total of 360 minutes] and 1 Bulgarian Cup match. It's also important to mention that Yordan was available for Slavia's last game with Levski, but coach Kuzmanovski preferred the youngster again, so this run in the first team might be long-lasting. Slavia - Vihren 2:0 [No video available] Botev Plovdiv - Slavia 2:1 http://sportal.bg/video.php?video_id=9488 Slavia - Chernomorets 2:0 http://sportal.bg/video.php?video_id=9627 Bulgarian Cup: Botev Krivodol - Slavia 2:1 http://sportal.bg/video.php?video_id=9712 Yes, in that game Kirev makes an obvious mistake for the "B" group side's second goal, but he's only starting his career. 4. Hi guys, recently alot of people were asking like "Who to sign?" or "Should I buy this one" in this forum. So I decided to make a thread for me to help people on these type of questions. Feel free to ask a question here and I'll help you. This is not my thread, its for everyone to use it. If a forumer asked a question, not only me myself can answer it, anybody can answer that particular question. Remember, this is a thread for these questions below: "Who to sign?" "Should I buy this one?" So if anybody has some knowledge of player ratings, you can help to answer questions.

    Forlan

Re: Forlan That's his in game scoring stats, which will improve with the right tactics. In Real Life he is on fire, and is worthy of a 94, so buying him is a pretty good deal. What did you buy him for?

  9. Re: KANOUTE, Frédéric or . LUIS FABIANO, Clemente in a trade ? Well i have a similar problem, both players are at an unmanaged club in one of my set-ups so i had to decide who to buy... I've settled for Kanoute because i don't see his rating going down anytime soon and with 12 goals this season he is Sevilla's top scorer and scored half of their season total. Luis Fabiano is quality but he has a bad temper and could end up doing a Baptista... It's a tough one mate, good luck.

  12. Re: DM/CM - Wingers (88 or less & rising soon) Ok one thing is for sure, you should get Busquets - Played alot of games for Barca this season and looks quality and mature at 20 years old. Yebda could be a dark horse with Inter Milan tracking him... Not sure on Song, can't see him rising to 90 anytime soon. As for Davis and Sammarco... Davis - NO NO NO NO - Would be a terrible signing!! Sammarco - In the same bracket as Song, don't think he has a chance at hitting 90 at the moment. What other players are available?

    Squad Size Option

Re: Squad Size Option In my last post i gave my opinion on two factors that i thought could go a long way toward reducing the problem of player hoarding. Those being the introduction of wage budgets and the other being player morale playing a bigger factor in the game. Id like to discuss the first issue in a bit more detail...ive had a few ideas on this and thought i might share them. This post does contain a bit of a dip into the financial side of the game but thats inevitable when were talking about introducing wage budgets...so please forgive me if it gets a bit "numbery" at times. What ive done is to take a good look at my Spartak Moscow team (stadium size 85,000)...and try to work out how wage budgets could work. Ive then taken a look at Liverpool (stadium size 45,000) and finally a less in-depth look at the "smaller" teams (stadium size 20,000 or less)...(you will see why ive had a less in depth look at these stadium sizes later)...and tried to apply the same parameters to them to see what happens. The first thing i did was to work out the wages i would need to acommodate a very good 55 strong team...30 senior players/25 youth players. The breakdown of this team would be (2x95(rated players)/4x94/2x93/2x92/4x91/5x90/3x89/2x88/6x87-85/25xyouth(below 88 rating)...this is the make-up of my team at the minute...ive never won the league with this team/ive won the cup twice (not SMFA cup!!!)/and im currently 2nd in the league and not looking likely to win it. I would consider my team to be one of the stronger in my gameworld...ive worked hard to get these players, i can field a strong first team and a reasonable second string for cups/shields...and i wouldnt consider myself to be a hoarder. LETS ASSUME EVERYONE AGREES WITH THE PROPOSITION THAT MY TEAM WAS STRONG BUT THAT I WASNT GUILTY OF HOARDING. (please,please,please...i know that this is a BIG assumption and that different people will have different opinions on the strength of my team...but bare with me) The next thing i did was work out how much it would cost to accomodate this team. It worked out at £1.25million per turn or £43.75million per season (for 30 games + 5 cup/shield games...assuming a small run in each). This is my only expense apart from ground maintenance (£5.5million/season). Therefore to accomodate the team above i need an income of at least £49.25million per season. At Spartak my TOTAL income (excluding any transfers) will be £90.7million over the season. Therefore i would be left with a PROFIT of £41.45million...AFTER ACCOMODATING THE ABOVE SQUAD. Now lets see how Liverpool would fair. I am grateful for the Liverpool manager in our gameworld letting my have a look at his balance sheet by the way. OK..so first...we want to give him the potential to accomodate a similar squad as me...thats fair right? So...lets say he does...his expenses will be??? Well...the wages will be exactly the same...£43.75million(35 games) + ground maintenance of £1.6million. Therefore to accomodate the same team it would cost Liverpool £45.35million. (thats roughly the same as me...after all we will have the same squad!!!). Liverpools TOTAL income for the season (again excluding transfers) however will be £42.5million. Therefore to accomodate the same team Liverpool would make a LOSS of £2.85million. The situation obviously only gets worse and worse the smaller your stadium...but it seems that 47,000-50,000 seater stadiums are the cut off point, it becomes impossible below that, to accomodate the above squad without making a loss. So how to teams with smaller stadiums go about remedying this? One of the most common methods is that they have to "buy players for profit", by doing this they supplement their income in order to be able to eventually possess a squad like the one above. I at Spartak dont have to do that because of my massive income stream. In fact...because of my huge income i can go ahead and buy EVEN more high rated and youth prospects without so much as a thought...but i choose not too. My first idea to solve this was to impose a universal wage cap of £1.25million per turn. Remember this was the amount per turn i have to pay to accomodate the squad above. This would mean that no-one in the set-up could assemble teams that for example had 5x96 rated players/6x95rated players/8x94rated players...and so on. Why?...because the wage cap wouldnt allow it. However this does create more problems than it seems. The main problem is that it doesnt address the problem highlighted above in terms of the financial difference between Spartak/Liverpool/and the smaller teams. Although no team would ever be able to amass a "super-squad" and hoard players...it didnt address the issue that many teams would still be unable to afford the squad in the first place, without "buying for profit" and supplementing their income. Not ideal...as this promotes the formation of bigger squads (something we are trying to tackle). Therefore i thought the idea unfair. So i came up with a second idea...actually its an old idea!!!...but i thought about it afresh What if we could somehow try to level out the expenses/incomes of the teams with different stadium sizes...more policing costs for teams with bigger stadiums/much more maintenance costs for teams with bigger stadiums/more coaching costs the bigger the squad/much increased travelling expenses for teams with bigger stadiums (i know this should be squad dependent...but maybe we could pretend its for carrying the clubs president/vice-president/presidents wife and kids!!!...i joke)/massive electricity costs/massive ground rental costs...all of these could in theory reduce the income of the teams with bigger stadiums down to a more reasonable level. Great idea...but it can only be done up to a certain extent before it becomes silly...i dont want a £40million electricity bill thanks. Although this method may reduce the income stream of the big boys...i still cant see how this on its own could limit hoarding. After all if i lose £20-£30 million in extra expenses at Spartak i can still afford my nice squad AND SOME. Will this idea help...yes i think so. But on its own i dont think the idea is enough. So i thought some more... This is the idea id most like some feedback on. I began to toy with the idea of "wage expenses (not budget!!!) being determined by income". e.g...my Spartak. Season income is £90 million. Currently after wages and maintenance (for accomodating my "reasonable" squad) im left with £41.45million profit. What if my wage bill for this SAME squad was instead...£70million + £5.5million ground maintenance. That way id be able to accomodate my team but only be left with £14.5million/season (enough to dabble in the odd transfer deal)...this is much less than the £40 million id normally have left...i.e money is being sucked out of SM by increased player wages (i think its widely accepted that theres too much money floating about SM at the minute). I would never be allowed to go above my limit of £70 million for wages...thus eliminating the chance of me buying more players. But theres still a problem!!!!! If it now costs me £70million to accomodate this team...then what about Liverpool??????? If it costs them £70million to accomodate the same squad and they only generate £42.5million income...then the situation is WORSE!!! Or is it? What if...A players wage at a club depended on that clubs income? e.g...VIDIC earns £75,000 at Spartak Moscow...after all its a massive club right, lots of income etc...but if he signs for Liverpool he looks around the stadium and sees the club isnt as big (in terms of income) and accepts his pay will be lower and so he signs for £50,000 So at Liverpool...the income per season is £42.5million. What if, TO ACCOMODATE THE SAME SQUAD as Spartak (who now pay £70million), it only costs Liverpool £30million? (after all, the players must accept wage limitations at smaller teams) Again this £30 million would be the wage cap. Liverpool will now be able to afford the same squad as Spartak...and have about £12.5million over at the end of the season (similar to Spartak). It seems things are evened out. This idea only works on the fundamental principle that players will earn different amounts depending on the wealth of the club they sign for I have actually carried through this concept in more detail...for example...with the above idea in place my players would get a 63% pay rise across the board...eg, VIDIC would now earn £122,250 per turn instead of £75,000. My wage bill would increase. At Liverpool...his players would get a 29% pay DECREASE across the board. eg, VIDIC would now earn £53,250 instead of £75,000. Liverpools total wage bill would decrease. A few final important points.... 1.This idea is basically a sliding-scale approach to wages. Wages are dependent on club income. 2. From my workings out these rules could only be applied to teams with a certain stadium size, once you get down to stadiums of 20,000 or less the wages that would be paid to players would get silly. Therefore to go hand in hand with this idea...it seems that there needs to be an option for managers to be able to increase stadium capacity to around 30000+ at least (this keeps the wages paid to players realisitic)...eg according to my idea VIDIC would get paid 50p if he played for Accrington Stanley (an exageration but you get the idea i hope). 3. These ideas are applicable more so to the larger teams...but since they are the ones that are able to have the big squads thats ok. However, as i said above they can work for ALL teams eventually if SM allow managers to increase their stadium. 4.this idea may help remove alot of the excess money from gameworlds over time (not sure on this one...its a brain-strainer to see if it will or not). 5.this idea evens out the financial diffferences between teams. 6.this idea may eliminate the need to "buy players for profit" 7. THIS IDEA AT ITS CORE...AIMS TO REDUCE PLAYER HOARDING. 8.this idea may be rubbish and i cant see it yet!!!! if it is, let me know and more importantly why? N.B...although the maths may seem daunting (with all the variously sized stadiums and rated players...it really isnt...after all, there are roughly 10 bands of stadium size 0-10,000...10-20,000 upto 90,000-100,000+ish and so on...and only 35 different levels of player ratings...65-99...with microsoft excel and a little time the maths are easy..ish...my girlfriend unhappily worked it out for me in about an hour!!!).

    Rio Ferdinand

Re: Rio Ferdinand He's not that young really, 24, 25 in August. Like I said before Ferdy has a shot at 96, so I would at least keep him until the English rating changes are over - you could get a much better deal for him that just Chiellini and cash, like a player rated 91+ at least....

    MAKEEV, Evgeni

MAKEEV, Evgeni Name: MAKEEV, Evgeni Age: 19 Nationality: Russian Club: Spartak Moscow Position: RB/LB SM Rating: 74 Sorry for no picture, can only find one and can't seem to upload it at the moment. Profile Evgeni Makeev is a 19-year-old plying his trade at Spartak Moscow. He was snapped up from FC Sheksna Cherepovets, a Russian Second Division team in 2007. After a year or so in the youth team, it now seems that he will make more of an impression on the first team squad this season. He made his full debut, starting in the 1-1 draw at home to Zenit St. Petersburg last weekend. Unfortunately, he sustained a hip injury and was forced to withdraw at half-time. This will keep him out for 3 weeks, according to the Spartak Moscow website. Until then, it remains to be seen whether or not Makeev can make a big impression this season. However, with players such as Sergei Parshivlyuk (age 20, SM Rating 86) and Artem Dzyuba (age 20, SM Rating 84) coming through the ranks in recent times, Makeev could be the latest prodigy to come out of Russia. 24. Re: Gold Championship 8 - Transfers, Rumors & Match Reports Serie A preview. Siena vs Juventus. Siena are currently unmanaged and without Valerio Bertotto and Enrico Chiesa, they'll surely have a tougher game. Juventus have to be considered as the favourites especially with the help of new arrival Timmy Simons. Catania vs Cagliari. Leamington Steve's men visit the Angelo Massimino stadium tommorow hoping that they can take all three against the unmanaged Catania. Doblas and Nicky Butt will probably make their debuts along with Cagliari's new key player Fabio Quagliarella. Catania will have to rely on the presence of the fans and Ginoatha Spinesi to get anything out of this game. Genoa vs Lazio. Not as one sided as everyone expects and if the home side put their minds to it could easily get all three. Butron (87/gk), Gustavo Lopez (87/W), Ochs (87/rb), Vilchez (87,cb) have all joined Genoa along with Geovanni and youngster Vidal on loan. However, Lazio should have high expectations and with the help of new signing Seydou Keita expect all three points. Reggina vs Palermo Palermo will want the win here and I fully expect that to happen. The Sicilian side managed by Antony Martignetti have only added Almiron on loan but with players like Miccoli, Barzagli and Bresciano at the club the talent is evident. Internazionale vs Sampdoria Alot of pressure will be on the reigning champions and with Sampdoria tommorow, there's a strong chance of an upset. Inter will be pleased to see Cassano leave and also at the arrival of Rosina and Modric. I do think that'll Inter will scrape a win and that at the moment do have a great chance of success. Roma vs Parma. Just avoided relegation and that's the reason why I'm putting my money on Roma for this one. James Kolonko's done a good job getting Cardozo, Poulsen, Kuranyi and Kerzhakov to the club in such a short time. Parma are yet to make a signing but that could be a good thing. Napoli vs Livorno. Neither club will make a huge impact on the league and I fully expect a tight and boring game which will most likely end a draw. Milan vs Udinese. Udinese begin the season with an incredibly weaker team than what ended last season. 24 year old Marco Murriero(gk/77) is expecting to start and has already received a lot of criticism from the fans. It's unclear whether Dan Payne will start Rodriguez, Moutinho or Iaquinta for the first time. Atalanta vs Fiorentina. Gonzalo Castro will surely make his debut after he completed his move from Bayer Leverkusen for 18m, a few days ago. Without any clear talent I think that Atalanta will have a lot of work to do and will definately be pleased with a point. Empoli vs Torino I'm expecting Keith's Torino to just edge this one but wouldn't be too surprised to see a draw. Both clubs could realistically end up with a Uefa Cup spot but will need to stay focused in games like this. IT ALL BEGINS TOMMOROW.............
