    GC Ranking Systems

Right i typed this out once already and my computer automatically refreshed and what i had written was ironically deleted, what fun! I know that many managers are disppointed with the fact that there are some manager who are regulalry getting the top sides and leaving other maanagers without a hope of getting the teams they want. I know that a friend of mine, who i am sure wont mind be using this example, has recently got Real Madrid and Barcelona in successive GC's. Many people didnt like this as it was seen as club hogging. I however dont see a problem in this as afterwards the clubs he has got are nowhere near as sought after. It would be ncie if people could guarantee that they would not go for the prestigious clubs in a space of 10 GC's. It is not always the case that people get the top clubs over and over again, but sometimes the mere presence of the fact that by stating on the forum that they are going for Real Madrid for example, can be enough to put others who are GMs off going for that team ont he basis that before this person has had a relatively successful time in getting the team they want Now what i propse is that during a period of 10 GCs club prestige points come in place for GC's. This could happen as early as these setup bands: 70-79, 80-89, 90-99, 100-109 etc. Clubs would be given prestige points based upon the places in the 'Best Club' ranking order. For example: The top 10 clubs would be given a rank of around 35 points, the next 10 30 points, the next 10 25 points and so on... I propose that at a few days before the creation of GC 70, on your profile a message comes up saying, You have 100 GC Prestige points remaining to last you from GC70-79. Then if the managers get, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester Utd, Inter, Milan, Liverpool, the prestige poits drops to 65 prestige points for the remaining GC's within the GC band. Furthermore i propse that a manager withing these setup bands will only be able to manage the same time once! So if i managed to get Barcelona in gc70, i would not be able to go for them in 71, 72, 73, 74, 75, 76, 77, 78, 79 but will be able to in Gc80. Now i see many advantages of this ranking system: 1. The maximum ammount of extremely good clubs within a GC band that one manager could manage would be limited to 2 top clubs and 2-3 medium clubs, and with no points being needed to manage smaller clubs, on an account there will be a wide variation of clubs on an accoount! 2. The top clubs will begin to see a wider spread of managers with not always the same people being abkle to manage them. 3. Club hogging, although will not be removed completely will be dampened down. Thoughts....

After all the constant moaning and crying about the last couple of GC creations and how no-one apprantly likes random created ones, I'v thought of the following as an alternate method. The only other way I can think of dishing out clubs so its still random, is a lottery type system where people register an intrest in joining the next GC. But agree to keep whatever club they get for a minium of 1 season otherwise they miss out on joining the next 3 GC's created, from the date they quit the Gameworld if another GC has been created in the mean time. Then SM use somewhere like random.com to match accounts and clubs up, it would be longer for the Dev's to sort out, but no-one could complain or moan about the system being unfair ect ect

Note: I do not claim it to be my find, he already has his own thread. The person who "scouted" this guy made a brief post about him and he has not updated it. So to make life easier, SM's Swedish forumer [That's me ], will keep you upto date on Erton and make a in-depth post about him. Erton Fejzullahu Name: Erton Fejzullahu Club: NEC Nijmegen Date Of Birth: 9/4/88 Age: 21 Position: Fwd (Can also play AM, LM & RM) Nationality: Swedish (Born in Kosovo + Has Albanian & Kosovon nationality) Height: 180cm Weight: 81kg SM Rating: 77 Overview: Erton Fejzullahu is a Swedish footballer of Kosovon & Albanian descent currently playing for Dutch Eredivisie side NEC Nijmegen. He recently signed for them after a great half season with Mjällby AIF who play in the Superettan which is the 2nd tier of Swedish football. He was considered to be one of the biggest talent in Swedish football. He's normally a striker but he can as a attacking midfielder, on the left wing and the right. So, he's quite versatile. Early Life & Footballing Career: Erton was born in Mitrovica which is in Kosovo and at the age of four, he and his family fled to Sweden because of the war. His family settled in the town of Karlshamn. At a young age, he was spotted and by Högadals IS who currently plays in Division 4 and they decided to sign him. He played for the youth team. When he made his debut for the U-17 team, he impressed many scouts and attracted interest from several large clubs. He finished the season as the top scorer with fourteen goals. His last game for Högadals IS U-17's was against AIK Atlas. He went on trial with Malmö FF & FC Copenhagen. He then decided to join FC Copenhagen in 2005 after a six digit fee plus clauses was accepted. He joined FCK because he wanted to play abroad. He impressed Hans Backe and sporting director Torben Storm during his trial with FCK. At that time Tobias Linderoth & Marcus Allbäck was the only Swedish players playing for FCK and the manager Hans Backe was also a Swede. Comparisons With Zlatan Ibrahimovic: He was compared to Zlatan Ibrahimovic at a young age. He was compared to Zlatan because of the appearance, style of play, background and the approach to football. Erton once said that Zlatan was one of his idol's and he has always looked up to Zlatan but he said that he wants to be his own star. Time At FCK: Erton signed a three year contract and had a vision that he would play for the first team during them three yeras but he never played a first team for FCK. He only played for FCK's reserve team who play in Division 2. He never really got a chance to shine at FCK, so he was loaned out to Mjällby AIF but the this became permanent and he signed a three year contract with them. First Two Seasons With Mjällby AIF: Erton first joined Mjällby AIF on a season long loan but then this became permanent and he signed a three year contract. He made his debut for Mjällby AIF against GIF Sundsvall. The game finished 0-0 and he got booked. In his first season with Mjällby AIF, he scored eight goals in eighteen games in the Superettan. This made Mjällby AIF to sign Erton on a permenant deal. He signed a three year contract. In his second season, he twenty four Superettan games and he scored five goals. After them two season's he attracted interest from many clubs and he went on a trial with Udinese. Kalmar FF was one of the hot favorites to sign Erton and he nearly signed for them but Udinese wanted to take him on trial, so he went to Italy. Super-Erton To Good For Superettan: His thrid season with Mjällby AIF was actually his last. He played twelve Superettan games and he scored eleven goals. He played three Svenska Cupen games and he scored three goals which helped defeat Malmö FF & Hammarby IF. He scored his first hat-rick against Ljungskile SK and he was leading the clubs and the league scoring charts. He attracted major interest. Most of the Allsvenskan clubs were interested, teams from Holland, France, Italy, Denmark and Turkey were all interested in him. He was close to joining the scums (Helsingborgs IF) but he wanted to move abroad so he decided to join NEC. A New Chapter - NEC Nijmegen: Erton signed for NEC on a four year deal. Many Swede's make their name in Holland like Berg, Larsson & Zlatan. Erton could proberly follow the footsteps of them. NEC's technical director, Carlos Aalbers was pleased to sign him. He said "Erton is a multi-functional player who can play in more than one position in attack or in midfield, besides that he is fast and he can score goals." Erton was also pleased to join NEC. He said, Despite the interest in me from Sweden, Denmark and many other Dutch clubs, NEC felt good from the start and I hope to have very good times here, in Holland all clubs are attack-minded. For young strikers that's the ideal school to develop yourself as a player and make yourself better." He played some part in NEC's pre-season. Erton was given the number eleven shirt. He made his debut against Feyenoord today. He played 90 minutes but NEC lost 2-0. International Career: Erton has played twice for the Swedish U-21 team. He made his debut against Slovakia in June then four days later he scored his first goal against Finland. Style Of Play: Erton's a fast technical player. He's not afraid to shoot from distance and he's strong in the air. His Rating On SM: The average raing of NEC's is 81. I'm sure he will be a regular this season for NEC and if he plays regulary (Well, he should) he could get a nice rise just like Saidi Ntibazonkiza. Thanks For Reading. Comments Appreciated. SANDRO, Ranieri (88) - 9C

SANDRO (Sandro Ranieri) Sandro Ranieri Guimaraes Cordeiro, simply known as Sandro, is a defensive midfielder currently plying his trade at SC Internacional. He, like so many other talented Brazilians before him, was brought up at Internacional as a youngster. Sandro is known as a defensive midfielder. He likes to play behind the main midfield, which is great at Internacional with attacking mids like Giuliano, Taison, D'Alessandro and Andrezinho. He likes to roam around looking for weak passes, and pounces as soon as the ball is sent in. The best word to describe his style of play would be "Predator". He was scouted to Inter by the same scout who brought us Bayern Munich defender Lucio. When asked if he wanted to follow Lucio's path, Sandro responded that he wanted to make some noise at Inter first, then of course leave for Europe. He made his Internacional debut late last season, as a substitute in a 2-1 win over Atletico PR in october. He would go on to make 4 starts and 1 more sub appearance late in the season, scoring two goals. He impressed a lot, and those performances allowed Internacional to get rid of long time regular Edinho, who was sold to Lecce. In January 2009, he was selected as Captain of the Brazilian U20 team for U20 Sudamericano. He played a big role in the squad, which was strong up front, but weak at the back because of injuries. Again, he played the predator and tightened up the midfield, allowing Douglas Costa, Maylson, Giuliano and Renan Oliveira to be creative and attack from midfield. Brazil won the tournament, and will be in Egypt in September for the U20 World Cup. Upon arrival, he was integrated back into the squad as a substitute. He started on February 22, and impressed. He is expected to be given every chance to make the starters role his own. Inter manager Tite: “He is a strong defensively and is good in the air, he also has a good sense of anticipation with strength and quality passing.” “ Sandro has a lot of quality and a good range of passing. He understands what is nessecery of him. He also defends aerial ball’s very well” He is rated 78. Campeonato Sudamericano Sub 20 Goals 1. February 4, 2009 v Venezuela - 0:45

Marcel Ziegl INFO: First name: Marcel Last name: Ziegl Club: SV Ried Nationality: Austrian Date of birth: 20/12/1992 Age: 16 Country of birth: Austria Rating: ?? Position: Centre Back (CB) 2008/2009 Stats: Started: 0 On As Sub: 6 Goals: 0 Minutes: 31 Marcel Ziegl is a 16 year old centre back who currently plays for SV Ried in the Austrian league. He made his first appearance for the first team half way through the 2008/09 season, he then didn't feature until the last few games of the season, where he kept getting more game time under his belt. In every first team game he featured in SV Ried were unbeaten. Next season big things are hoped of him, and will hopefully get a lot more game time. Most of the 2008/09 season Marcel Ziegl played for SV Ried U19 in the Jugendliga U19. He was a regular starter from then at centre back totaling 1367 minutes and 1 goal. Firmly nailing down the centre back spot. On the international seen, he has made 8 appearances for Austria U17, safely making him a regular at the back putting in solid performances. He is a feisty little player who is not scared to throw his weight around and put in hard fair challenges. For example in the game SC Rheindorf Altach Vs SV Ried, he came on in the 89 minute, and got booked in the 90 minute! He is a very commanding center back who is good in the air but also quick across the ground. He is still a very young player and at only 16 he is showing a lot of promise, yet still developing and getting better. Hopefully we will see more of him next season, and maybe even secure his place in the 1st team. I guess we will have to wait and see, but don't get me wrong, but i have a good feeling about this guy, and i can see him being big. Andre Schürrle Name: Andre Schürrle (Schurrle on the DB) Date of Birth: Nov. 11 1990 (Age: 18) Current Club: 1. FSV Mainz 05 Position: Striker Height: 1.75 m Nationality: German Rating: 72 Andre Schürrle joined Mainz at the beginning of the 2006/2007 and was used in the youth team there first. He was an important part of the team which won the youth championship 08/09 against Borussia Dortmund who were regarded as the favourites by most experts. He's in the bottom row in the middle just above the space between Deutscher and Meister This season, after Mainz coach Jørn Andersen was fired just before the start of the season, Mainz's youth coach Thomas Tuchel was named the new first team coach. He's one of Schürrle's biggest admirers, and after Schürrle played a great pre-season, he got his first chance in the DFB-Pokal, the German cup, when he was subbed in in the 64th minute. Despite Mainz losing to a 4th division team, he could impress, and one week later he made his Bundesliga debut when he started as the sole striker in Mainz's match against Leverkusen. Mainz dominated in the first half, and Schürrle almost scored his first goal, but Rene Adler could just stop his shot on the line. He's also a regular for Germany's U-19 with 11 games and 4 goals, who only missed the recent Euros after losing to Spain. He is not on the DB, but seeing how highly he is regarded by his former youth coach and how well he did in his first games, I expect him to feature regularly this season, maybe not always as a starter but he will get his minutes. With a bit of luck he picks up enough games/minutes before the changes, where he'll probably get added at around 75-77. If he gets added before the changes another small rise might be possible, but potentially he's a 85+ player and should be snapped up as soon as he gets added. Update: (Aug 15) added to the DB at 72

    Wesley Sneijder

    Joe Bennett

Name: Joe Bennett Age: 19 (28/03/1990) Club: Middlesbrough Posistion: LB/LM Another academy product from Middlesbrough Bennet has been an ever present sight in the reserves over the past season, putting in a few good performances and earning England caps in the U16's, 17's and 18's. He is on standby for the U19 squad with other fellow Boro players. He signed his professional contract at the start of this season after a number of impressive performances in pre season, most notably against Celtic. Earlier today he made his Middlesbrough debut against West Ham and he was the only bright spark in what was a disapointing performance. He was solid at the bacl and made one terrific tackle when he tracked back 20 yards to make a sliding challenge on Kieron Dyer as he was about to pull the trigger after being put through on goal. He seems to have outplaced Jonathn Grounds as the reserve left back and with Pogatez set to leave it would mean that next season he would fight it out with Taylor to be the first choice left back. He is a promising full back and could become similar to the success Rhys Williams has been. Currently NOT on the DB.(Was waiting till he made his debut to post)

Re: Stubborn Soccer Manager Cant See Right and Wrong You've said that at least 5 times now...listen dude' date=' this thread, no matter how many times deny it, is doing nothing but moaning. SM, like [u']ANY OTHER GAMING WEBSITE[/u], sometimes has to bring down its server and correct bugs/make fixes. It is unfortunate that this regular action caused the misfortune of missing out on one of your transfer targets, but its happened, and it wouldn't be fair to the other guy if the deal got reversed, so nothings gonna happen. Hard luck mate, but like many ppl have said, its a game, and you have money now to spend on a different player. And yes, I know you've said that there are no players as highly rated as the one you wanted, but thats where I place the blame on you for not lining up backups. I've missed out on transfer targets many times, and when I do, I go for my backup options. That's my two cents.

Re: Gold Championship 67 Match Reports/News/Transfers Thread 9 In. 5 Out As Gazza Aims To Change Newcastle's Fortunes. Late last night. Newcastle United aimed to put last season's relegation behind them as they appointed Gazza Thomas as thier new manager. And he vowed to bring back the good years to the club. He told SMTV ; Im still speachless. Its such an honour to manage one of englands most famous teams. I aim to bring premiership football back to newcastle this season as its absolutely shocking for them to be in the second division. The fans deserve better and i cannot wait to transform the squad. Now to the transfer front. Gazza put the whole squad up for transfer except Steven Taylor and Tim Crul. And many clubs were ready to pounce on the bargains. The first player to leave the club was argentinian winger Jonas. He left to join Brazil giants Sao Paulo in a straight swap for Raphael Jean & Henrique Hugo. Jean will become Key for Newcastle The next to leave the club was spanish striker Xisco. He joined Valencia for £7m + promosing midfielder Ángel Michel. Michel Joins as Xisco exits. Alan Smith left to join stoke in a deal thought to be worth around £4.2m Damien Duff left to join Liverpool for £6m + Stephen Darby & Nikola Saric. And Ryan Taylor joined Middlesboro for £4.5m + Lita. Newcastle also signed Ideye Brown. Daniel Owusu. Daniel Maka and Papa Pete Diouf for undisclosed fee's. Gazza also revieleved that 5 players are set to leave the club and more look to follow. Gazza also hopes to unviel more signings in the following days. Exciting Times Ahead For Newcastle

    Loyalty vs Greed

Re: Loyalty vs Greed Look, this is how I see it, and I was in a similar position once. Im Derby County in GC21, and Ive managed to get them from Division 2 to 4th in the First Division. Ive been offered Team after Team After Team. But you know what, I'd never give up my Derby Team for the best team in the land. If you feel you have done so much at Bolton that you dont want to let them go, then don't go, but if you want to move on and take those big players, then you do that.

    Stven Thicot

Steven Thicot Steven is a 22 year old French Def/DM playing for Hibernian. Hibernian He went on trial with Scottish Premier League club Hibernian, for whom he appeared as a substitute in a pre-season friendly against FC Barcelona. He signed for Hibernian on 29 July 2008 on a three year contract. He made his Scottish Premier League debut in the 1–0 defeat at Kilmarnock in early August. Thicot had to be substituted after just 33 minutes due to a thigh injury that kept him out of action forweeks. He returned to the team in a 2–1 win at Aberdeen, but was again substituted in the 74th minute. Thicot scored his first Hibs goal and took the man of the match award during a 2-1 win over German giants Stuttgart, but it wasn't enough to win the tie for Hibs. Thicot struggled to break the solid centre half partnership between Rob Jones and Chris Hogg, but after Jones move to Shorpe United, Thicot started to play more regularly. So far he has started 15 games and came on as a sub 5 times. International Career Thicot was part of the France national youth football team that won the 2004 UEFA European Under-17 Football Championship. Future He is on the DB rated 78. The highest is 85. I expect him to rise to 82-83.

Re: Graphic Design Feedback Ok, everything seems to have calmed down here and I don't want any arguments to start again. So please don't post anything more regarding this. I would just like to say I am a little disappointed tbh with how some 'respected' members behaved in here over the last couple of days. Yes Milano started this with his sharp comebacks but most people on here responded in the same way. I think you all need to take a good look at how you reacted and make sure it doesn't happen again. That's all, thanks.

Yap made various changes to the starting lineup, with the most notable being the inclusion of Juan Forlin. Fulham started with a defensive 4-5-1 formation. The match started on a bright note, with Ronaldo pleading with his teammates not to get too complacent within 1 minute of the game, as they were seen doing all sorts of tricks and juggling acts. They were nearly made to pay for it within 90 seconds, as Schwarzer saved smartly from Ibrahimovic. Brade Hangeland then cleared a shot from Aliyev off the line, as Leeds stepped up the pressure hoping to find an opener. Kuyt's header grazed the bar, before Marchisio was caught offside on 2 occasions. A dull first half ended 0-0. After an unimpressive performance, Yap sent on 20 year old Keirrison for Ibrahimovic, and the youngster made an instant impact, as he crossed with precision for Kuyt to sidefoot home. A Bullard chip from 30 metres nearly landed in goal, but for the crossbar. Kuyt then made it 2 when he smashed it with venom into the net following a moment of indecisiveness by Clint Dempsey. The referee then blew for the final whistle as Leeds will now face West Ham United next in the 4th round. Leeds United: Buffon; Motta, Forlin, Bocchetti; Senna, Felipe Melo, Marchisio, Sneijder, Aliyev; Kuyt, Ibrahimovic (Keirrison 60) Fulham: Schwarzer; Stoor, Hangeland, Baird, Kallio; Gray, Murphy, Seedorf, Dempsey, Bullard; Ronaldo

Re: Please help MIDFIELD DILEMMA... REP WILL BE GIVEN Firstly I think its wrong to promise rep in your title, just a heads up mate. Well from the list I'd get: Hernanes - Dubbed as the new kaka, strongly linked with Milan to replace Kaka. Defour - Very good player, strongly linked with Liverpool and Real Giovinco - Nice little player, gonna be the man for Juve in the coming years. Zapata - Don't know to much about him but he seem good.

    GC Ranking Systems

Re: GC Ranking Systems Awesome idea's Matt, i think that the prestige points is a good idea, because people like me always say im going for Real etc and it would be good to have certain points for the certain amount of GC's. I also think Club hopping should be stopped, im not saying i dont do it because i sometime do but it ruins the game alot. Now i think that when you take over the club the Quit club should be taken away for 15-20 days, many people would say if you didnt want a team and couldnt quit them then they would get ruined and lose games, but thats why if he plays players out of position normally SM automatically put some players in the right positions for you. Thoughts? Good idea Matt.

Re: English Championship 106 - Transfer/Gossip thread Lions duo move on to greater things Millwall confirmed this morning that two of their so called 'golden generation' of youth players are leaving the New Den. Young Midfielder Dan Gosling is off to Portsmouth in a exchange deal for Striker Mwaruwaru Benjani, and Left back Joe Mattock returns to his Spiritual home Preston in a 3.2 million pound cash deal. The two were part of a fine crop of Lions youngsters including Santos Airton,Cesar Denis, and Krysten Pearce who were expected to form the bedrock of the team for many years to come. Following Mondays meeting between chairman John Berylson and Manager Dave Izod, it certainly appears, that with a general down turn in football attendances expected across the league ,the Millwall management team are looking to secure this seasons financial stability early. With Nicolas Loderio signed over to Oxford on a season long loan deal, Lions fans will no doubt be wondering if Brazilian Airton will be the next starlet to be cherry picked by the big clubs as Izod seeks to navigate a path to divison 2 survival.

Re: Argentine Talent thread Federico Raúl Laurito (born 18 May 1990 in Rosario) is an Argentine association footballer who plays for Club Atlético Huracán. A Newell's Old Boys youth product, he moved to Udinese at the age of 17. He scored 24 goals in 30 Campionato Nazionale Primavera games before moving to Livorno on loan. Now he plays for Huracan who will be missing Pastore BUT i reckon Laurito and De Federico will have a good partnership and defently one to watch this season. Not on DB yet.

Re: The Coca-Cola Championship 2009/10 Season Opening Day Weekend Results Friday, 7th August 2009 Middlesbrough 0-0 Sheffield United Comprehensive Match Report Match Highlights - - - - - - - - - - Saturday, 8th August 2009 Cardiff City 4-0 Shorpe United Cardiff kicked off the new season in a brand new stadium and with an emphatic win over newly promoted Shorpe. Summer signing, Michael Chopra got the first, albeit thanks to a hefty deflection. Jay Bothroyd was on hand to tap-in at the back-post for the second before Chopra killed the Irons off in first-half stoppage time with a vicious effort that Joe Murphy could only get a hand to. Peter Whittingham put some gloss on the final score with a late penalty. Match Highlights - - - - - - - - - - Crystal Palace 1-1 Plymouth Argyle Newboy Stern John almost gave Palace the perfect start in this one, but missed the target with a header. Kriztian Timar didn't disappoint at the other end, emphatically volleying home from a corner. John went off with a suspected broken arm, and it was his replacement, Alan Lee who got the equaliser, heading home to give his side a share of the spoils. Match Highlights - - - - - - - - - - Derby County 2-1 Peterborough United A late Gary Teale strike won all three points for Derby after Peterborough thought they had snatched a draw. Paul Green provided the cross for Jake Buxton to head across goal where Miles Addison was on hand to give the Rams an early lead. George Boyd had a goal disallowed for Posh soon after, but it was Derby who were controlling proceedings. However, the home side failed to close the game out and a mix-up between captain Paul Connolly and 'keeper Stephen Bywater led to the latter bringing down Shaun Batt. Boyd stepped up to despatch the resultant penalty and reward Peterborough with what they thought was an unexpected point. However, it was not to be as Joe Lewis and the Peterborough defence dealt with a Derby corner poorly, and Teale was on hadn to poke in a late winner. Match Highlights - - - - - - - - - - Leicester City 2-1 Swansea City Swansea took an early lead at the Walkers Stadium when Welsh international defender Ashley Williams headed in an early corner amid dodgy Leicester defending. However, it was Williams who gave the Foxes a way back into the game when he brought down Bruno Berner in the area, although Steve Howard's spot-kick was well saved by Dorus De Vries. Martyn Waghorn's deflected shot gave De Vries no chance for the equaliser, before substitute Danny N'Guessan scored the winner on his debut following Howard's knock-down. Match Highlights - - - - - - - - - - Preston North End 2-2 Bristol City Preston lauched an impressive late fightback to give themselves a point from a game where they possibly deserved none. John Parkin somehow was foiled on the line by Louis Carey early on while Youl Mawene also missed a guilt-edged opportunity. But Bristol City took control of the game after half-time when Mawene bundled over Danny Haynes in the area. New signing Paul Hartley scored a debut penalty before fellow Scottish newcomer, David Clarkson, grabbed himself a debut goal under ten minutes later. But, cue the fightback. Parkin made no mistake with a half-volley on the edge of the area after the ball fell kindly towards him. The referee helped bail the Lilywhites out by ruling the ball to have struck Carey's arm deep into stoppage time and new captain, Callum Davidson, struck the late, late equaliser. Match Highlights - - - - - - - - - - Queens Park Rangers 1-1 Blackpool Heidur Helguson hit the bar for the home side in the game's first real chance with the goal gaping. But Blackpool went up the other end to net the opening goal as Ben Burgess slotted home following Gary Taylor-Fletcher's lay-off. Rangers continued to spurn opportunites and found their opposition 'keeper, Paul Rachubka, in fine form. But they did eventually get the equaliser late on, when Peter Ramage's cross flew straight into the back of the net. Match Highlights - - - - - - - - - - Reading 0-0 Nottingham Forest These two sides played out the only goalless encounter of the weekend at the Madejski Stadium. David McGoldrick tested Adam Federici from long-range early on, while Reading's young side struggled to test Lee Camp. Jimmy Kebe almost gave the Royals the lead in the second period, and Federici made another good save to deny Robert Earnshaw. But a draw it was to be and the main action of note came when Luke Chambers was given his marching orders for an apparent elbow to Shane Long. Match Highlights - - - - - - - - - - Sheffield Wednesday 2-2 Barnsley Comprehensive Match Report Match Highlights - - - - - - - - - - Watford 1-1 Doncaster Rovers New signing Danny Graham gave his new side a first-half lead by being on hand to tap-in at the back-post. But their lead was short-lived as a terrific header from James Hayer looped over Scott Loach from fully 18-yards out. Dean Shiels had the best chance to win it for Doncaster, but his effort was just kept out by Loach, while Tommy Smith's late header went narrowly wide. Match Highlights - - - - - - - - - - West Bromich Albion 1-1 Newcastle United Newcastle picked up a point in a tricky encounter amidst their troubled position both on and off the pitch. After missing from glaringly close-range early on, Shelton Martis gave West Brom a first-half lead in a bit of a goalmouth scramble following Jonathan Greening's free-kick. Substitute goalkeeper Tim Krul kept Newcastle in it with a series of impressive saves before and after Damien Duff's equaliser. Kevin Nolan found the Irishman in space on the left and Duff made no mistake from 12 yards out. Jonas Olsson had a late goal rightfully ruled out for offside. Match Highlights - - - - - - - - - - Sunday, 9th August 2009 Coventry City 2-1 Ipswich Town Comprehensive Match Report Match Highlights - - - - - - - - - -

    right winger needed urgently

Re: right winger needed urgently well, within ur squad, you already have one of the best right wingers in iniesta. If you want one from outside, robinho, arshavin, benzema, hleb, cazorla, and kuyt are all options. And of course ronaldo, though I'm doubting whoever currently has him will give him up. Since your currently in possession of the best right winger after ronaldo, I'd stick with him for your starter, unless you need him for another position, in which the above would all be good candidates.

Re: Sambalele's Leeds United | Caleb's Huddersfield Town | Toggs's Rochale | Target: 10 August '09 Toggs Hopeful Of Becoming Third Sucess Story Following the tales of Caleb' Huddersfield & Sam's Leeds' sucess, Toggs hopes he can emulate the same sucess with his recently changed squad. In the first report of many too follow, I hope too share with you how far i've already got with my squad, the current XI and where I want too take the club. Story So Far - I took the reigns of a fairly weak Rochdale squad on the 20th of December 2009. I had many aspirations for my team that I would forfill in the future, but the basic idea was too buy as many risers as I could afford, and gain promotion in my opening season. As the risers joined and departed I was picking up countless wins, and with the help of players such as Helmes, Hourau & Renan, sucessfully acheived promotion, topping division four with 96 points and 31 wins from a possible 38. Division Three so far has proved too be more of the same. The squad experienced wholesale changes, but with the unsettle inside the team, results were still coming thick and fast. I currently top Division Three by six points, with 56 points after 25 games with my new squad, aswell as a good Cup run, adopted by the fans as the Rochdale'Aticos. The Team - Buying risers has enabled me too get a good powerful XI, capable of beating any team in the setup. Will give a quick account of my strongest eleven. Van Der Sar, Dani Alves, Chivu, Bruno Alves, Toulalan, Xabi Alonso, Gattuso, Robben, Schwinsteiger, Berbatov, Luis Fabiano. Van Der Sar is a very experienced goalkeeper and wouldn't need adaption too the English leagues. Also is the sides Vice Captain. Dani Alves, Chivu & Bruno Alves provide me with a rock solid defense, who can withstand any attack put at them. They give me the foundations too build on. Xabi Alonso, Gattuso & Toulalan could be the best midfield trio in my setup. They can attack and defend and give alot of positives too my team. Robben & Schwinsteiger on the wings with their paced should give wide backs nightmares and give my upfront duo Luis Fabiano & Berbatov alot of chances. Both of them are proven finishers. Where I Want Too Be - I want too be Division 1 champions, and sucessfully have tooken my side through every division, and been sucessful and won all of them. Immediate plans turn too tonight though as I face Wigan for a place in the Final of the English Cup. Will give debuts too the majority of my starting XI, in arguably, the biggest match since my reign at the club. Haven't won a trophy ywt, other than Division Four, and it would be nice too add the FA Cup too my collection, after only two seasons. I would not mind a night with that Rochdale model, but I'd want sucess with my club first. Thanks for reading. Hope you enjoyed the first of many.

    Huddersfield Town EC106 Blog.

Re: Huddersfield Town Blog. My defenders are good, I am now playing 3 at the back. I had to overpay, I believe as there was only 1 other bidding for that player, Chygrynskyy. That was suprising, you will find few young 88/89 defenders in this setup. So I made sure I got him, 6.7 million and 2 players, 1 was Geromel of Koln. I had heard a lot about this player, from 1 year back, so when he came up for grabs. I had to make sure I got him, so I paid a lot more than he was worth. Bocchetti was a player I had been looking at for a long time, and he was available, so I snapped him up. Important defenders are Compper who should get a rise to 88, probably in the second German changes. That also depends on Hoffenheim playing like they did before their Xmas break. His wages are 12,3k. I spent 4.8 million on him, and he is value 7.1 million. Chavez, Def, of Atlas got a nice rise to 83, and I see he is starting in Mexico. I am hoping for 86, and him to make the World Cup team. 900k well spent. I made sure to get him before someone posted about Mexico. I am hoping De Laet will get a few games, in the cups maybe, and give him a tasty rise from 73. Moisander I am keeping for as long as I have him on 7.6k. He will probably go up to 87, unless AZ are shocking, but I am playing 3 at the back, so I will loan him out. My form was inconsistent when I played 4 at the back, when I changed to 3, I kept winning. 5 wins and a draw in the last six games, and more wins before that, helped me to second place, pipping 2 teams on equal points. Emerson, same age, rating and position, I will see if he starts at Lille. Maybe a rise of 1 for him, but I will probably swap him out. Still a +5 from him was great. Another same age and position and rating is Schaffer, +10 from him, and he should get some games at Benfica. Tiago Pinto is on loan from Porto, so I will be keeping him. For 4 years on 3.5k wages. Biava is 88, and on loan. I will see how he does at a good Genoa side. He is not playing to well, and the chairman is unlikely to let me loan him out, so I will se if I get a good swap deal, as his value has not gone up, unlike the other elder players in my squad. Jaissle is 86, and I will wait and see what playing time he gets at Hoffenheim. I had a lot of players from that team, and they all got good rises. Forlin, 86, great buy for 10k, perhaps my best ever. Boca had tonnes of risers, and everyone was going for Viatri and Gaitan, who were well established. Forlin had only a few appearances, so I went for him instead. I put him on a 5 year contract of 12k, as he would only have 1 new season on 3.5k. He will be in my team for a long time, along with the Ukranian and Bocchetti. That will be a good back 3. Maicon was another +5, and he is now at Porto, and I think he will start now Alves is gone. Another keeper, and a few more rises for him. Trasch broke into Stuggart late enough, and he went unmentioned in the Germany risers because of this. He is sure to start somewhere, and like Chavez, is 83 and a Def. That is a useful position, keeper for the cups and youth tournament perhaps. I managed to snap him up just before the changes as well. Brandao for some unknown reason was available even though he was long mentioned as a super high riser. I assumed he was taken, but I found him after looking at another player. Another keeper for the fact that he is on 3.5 wages. You got to keep these guys as backup, too many teams sell after they rise to buy someone on higher wages as backup. I try and keep them if they are playing in a good league. Another I got before he got too well known about was Schennikov, and I will be keeping him of course. My squad is full of LB's. I have no RB's worth holding on to. Only a few risers. I am looking at a few defenders, who I won't name, for the short to medium term. Long term wise, is Forlin and maybe Maicon. As my back 3 consists of an 88 and 90, and I am keeping the 3rd place open. I have Marcellis on loan, thanks to Darlington, and he has done okay in 8 starts. Talking about starts, my sub in's usually get a high rating of 7 or 8, then if I start the. Funny that. I don't hold to much stock in the match ratings. My defenders average maybe 6.2 to 6.7. Midfield is around 7, and attack is 7.2 or 7.3. But I usually sub in attackers and midfielders, who get a high match rating, and rarely defenders. MY goalkeeper and 2 attackers finished 1,2,3 in order of best average rating. Palermo finished with 7.57, 16 starts, 8 subs. Hoarau, missed 2 months of the start had 24 starts and 6 subs, and 7.43. My keeper, who is turning out to be money well spent, I bid twice his value, cash and good p/e, had 7.41, after 17 games. I had Nikopolodis before him. Next highest on more than a few games is Negredo on 7.01. My player of the season willl be Hoarau, especially after losing him for abuot 4 months, 2 towards the end of last season, 2 at the start of this just finished season.
