  1. Re: Official FIFA World Cup 2010 Discussions Thread I watched England's defeat yesterday thinking what I normally do when they bow out of major tournaments and this led me to think that I would be putting together a 20.000 word thesis on here about what is wrong with the British game (it's not just England's problem). I thought that, with Lampard's "goal" to give them the perfect excuse to ignore what I have thought has been obvious for eight years or more, the pundits would be up in arms at the injustice of it all, but, fair play, the consensus has been that England were stuffed and that "th

  3. This can be seen as either a suggestion of a change in the game mechanics or as a plea to players to use this option a little more sparingly when rejecting transfer offers. The reason behind it? To improve harmony within the game, and to increase activity in the transfer market. All too often I see managers click this option all too readily when a fair deal has been offered, or even when you counter with a reasonable offer after they have just offered a cash-only deal in a GC, which in itself could be viewed as insulting! I would even go so far as saying it is many managers stock response to

Bundesliga minutes: 2647 Bundesliga assists: 11 Bundesliga goals: 13 Champions League minutes: 933 Champions League assists: 3 Champions League goals: 2 This season Thomas Muller has become much more than a regular in the Bayern Munchen first team, and also the German national side. However, this only earned him a +3 rise from 85 to 88. The seemingly only argument against Muller's higher rating is his young age, and thus his unproven consistency. But compare this to Rodriguez PEDRO's recent rise from 88 to 90 at the age of 22 (after just one season) and Toni KROOS' recent rise fro

Re: Summer transfers + ratings Good source, although he is a Porto fan as I recall....;)True, he hasnt played at a toplevel in the WC, but a lot of quality players has had their problems in South Africa. Im not saying that you are wrong in your prediction, but Mourinho is a great great man management coach & could make him a very dangerous player for the future. I hope that he gets a longer lifespan than Benzema last year...

  11. Re: Most Overrated Players Thread I'm sure I'll get some diferences of opinions, but for me, Kaka is one of the most overrated players out there. Time and time again I watch games he's playing in, whether Milan, Madrid, or Brazil, and he frankly isn't that good. He loses posession far too much, from bad passes or poor touches. Also, it seems every time he gets into the final third, he lacks all creativity to take on defenders, forcing him to try and force bad crosses into the box, or it hits off defenders. As well as his passing and touch, he rarely scores anymore for someone who is suppos

This win meant that we now move up to second in the group on 6 points behind first place Anderlect. He should be a 1st team regular for them as Duscher is a mediocre player and he would most definitely leave and Zokora has been linked with a move to Olympiacos. A new addition to the AC Milan squad as they sold Storari to Juventus. He should be Milan's new No.1.

Re: England: Great Club Players, Rubbish Internationals Glen Johnson showed the first touch of an elephant, the passing skills of a five year old child and the defensive knowledge of a bouncy castle. I dont think he was the worst player there (Gareth Barry gains that award) but he was one of the lowest five I would suggest. The notion that he was 'one of the best players for England' is laughable. As for him being one of the best right backs around... I can only assume you mean in the Merseyside area? Phillip Lahm, Dani Alves, Douglas Maicon and Srna are just four names I can think of in a ma

In the first game Capello went for the other bloke and that ultimately cost us 2 points against the US. Had we got the win then we'd have topped the group and probably still be in the competition. Re: Official FIFA World Cup 2010 Discussions Thread Right I am going to try and give some analysis now as to why I think England as a country seem to fail at football, for sure I never ever thought our players was good enough to win the World Cup but why is it that Germany can hardly get out of 2nd gear and thrash us 4-1 and should have been more, when teams like Serbia and Ghana can compete and in Serbia's case win the game. For us to succeed I think we need to look at the fundemental reasons we fail at football: The System England play:Now I am not saying 4-4-2 is fundementally flawed but I

I'll start with the the England game and a couple of my thoughts. These may have already been brought up already but seriously i aint reading through the last like 50 pages, which mostly seem to be people slagging each other off rather than actual discussions on the games Obviously Lampard's "goal" is the most controversial, how on earth the ref or in particular the linesman didn't see that is embarrassing At this level there is z

I have never heard a more biased fan, whether they are more inclined to their club (Swansea) or their country (Wales). However - the top teams have been asking for a winter break since lord knows when - and the FA/PL refuse every single time Maybe with the introduction of player quotas from this season it will see more English lads get games in the EPL... And who knows in 2018 - 52 years after they last lifted it...England could again win the tournament by playing all their games at home

A packed Stade de France saw Lille beat Marseille 3-1 in the Charity Shield final, the action packed match saw youthful Lille overcome Marseille. The game started with it's usual pre-match build up, dubbed the "Battle Of Age" where Lille have a very young squad, and Marseille have experienced stars. Marseille started the scoring on 34 minutes when Mohammadou Niang scored a great solo effort, but only 6 minutes later Lille's Loic Remy equalise. At the break it was equal, but Jack E

Eazy was an ordinary little boy who did ordinary little boy things, like playing, eating, bathing, destroying things, and going to school. One day, when Eazy went down to the bus stop to meet the bus to go to school, he found all of his friends huddled around in a little group, talking about the Purple Wombat. Being a little boy, Eazy was curious. So he asked them, "What's the Purple Wombat?" "You don't know what the Purple Wombat is?" Teb the leader of the children exclaimed disgustedly.
