OVERVIEW This years Euro u19 will take place in France. There are 8 teams competing in two groups and the standard Group Stage to Knockout stages rules will apply. I will be trying to watch these games and will be scouting for players at this tournament. TEAMS France Overview Francis Smerecki's side have enjoyed a solid season to date, losing only three of their 12 friendly matches – winning five – and, having lost out in the last four in 2008/09, are targeting another strong showing this time round Record 57-37-13-7 (in u19 Euros) Players to Watch Gilles Sunu Yannis Tafer Gael Kakuta Maxime Bourgeois Coquelin Gueida Fofana Clement Grenier Timothee Kolodziecziak Netherlands Overview The Netherlands have reached the UEFA European Under-19 Championship elite round every year bar one since the competition's inception in 2001/02 but have never before made it through to the final tournament, losing out on goal difference to Slovenia in 2008/09. Wim van Zwam's side ended the wait in considerable style, however, qualifying unbeaten – winning five of their six matches – and booking their place in France with a 3-0 dismantling of 2008 champions Germany. Record 49-24-14-11 (first year in the finals) Players To Watch Rodney Sneijder Oguzhan Ozyakup Rick Van Haaren Jerson Cabral Luc Casnos Christian Klem Top Scorer in Qualifying Rick Van Haaren, Luc Casnos (2) Austria Overview Regular participants at the UEFA European Under-19 Championship, Austria started the season slowly but came good at exactly the right moment in both the qualifying and elite rounds. Having squeezed through the first stage as one of the two best third-placed sides thanks to a narrow defeat of Scotland, Andreas Heraf's side recorded fine wins against Serbia and Denmark, the latter a remarkable 4-3 triumph, to snatch a place in France. Recod 50-24-8-18 Players to Watch Lukas Rath David Alaba Michael Schimpelsberger Andreas Weimann Christoph Knasmullner Top Scorer in Qualification Christian Klem (4) England Players To Watch Thomas Cruise Jonjo Shelvey John Bostock Nathan Delfouneso Sanchez Watt Frank Nouble Jacob Meliss Dean Parrett Matthew Briggs Group B Croatia Overview After five successive elite round exits between 2004 and 2008, Croatia finally qualified for the UEFA European Under-19 Championship for the first time with an impressive six-game sequence, scoring 12 goals and conceding only two. Coach Ivica Grnja has moulded his players into a solid unit who were the only team to win all their qualifying fixtures and will now be keen to make an impact at the finals in France. Record 45-26-10-9 Players to Watch Matej Delac Franko Andrijasevic Anton Maglica Mario Ticinovic Filip Ozobic Andrej Kramaric Arijan Ademi Top Scorer in Qualifying Anton Maglica (4) Spain Overview Winners in four of the first six years of the UEFA European Under-19 Championship, Spain failed to make it beyond the group stage in 2008 and 2009. Luis Milla is in his second season in charge and, with his team the first to qualify having emerged unbeaten from a tough elite round group in Turkey, hopes will be high of claiming the trophy for the first time since 2007. Record 64-45-11-8 Players To Watch Keko Sergio Canales Rodri Iker Muniain Ruben Rochina Marc Bartra Thiago Alcantara Top Scorer in Qualifying Rodri (4) Italy Overview Italy emerged triumphant in the second edition of the UEFA European Under-19 Championship in 2003 but have been unable to repeat the feat, although they did reach the final in the Czech Republic two years ago only to lose to an impressive Germany side. Massimo Piscedda's squad swept into the finals this time round, winning their first five games in the qualifying and elite rounds to render a final-day defeat by Russia irrelevant. Record 54-34-10-10 Players to Watch Fabio Borini Gianmarco Zigoni Marco D'Alessandro Mattia Destro Jacopo Sala Michelangelo Albertazzi Top Scorer in Qualifying Matta Destro (8) Portugal Overview One of Europe's most consistent teams at youth level, Portugal have nevertheless missed out on the last two UEFA European Under-19 Championship final tournaments and will be keen to impress in France. Qualifiers in 2006 and 2007, Portugal have not reached a semi-final since finishing runners-up in the second edition of the U19 competition in 2003 but remained unbeaten this time round, winning five of their six matches including a memorable triumph against Spain last November. Record 61-33-15-13 Players to Watch Nelson oliveira Sergio Oliveira Roderick Top Scorer in Qualifying Alex (4) SPAM WILL BE SCOUTING THIS WITH ME

    GK Statistics

Currently, the number of games, goals and assists are in the players statistics. For the GK, its the same. I suggest that Gk should have an extra slot which is Conceded. As in, the amount of goals they conceded. This is coming from my personal view. Anyone share my idea?

    Burys Rise to the top

Re: Burys Rise to the top Bury 3-0 Coventry A compfortable win, despite having 10 minute for 70 minutes. Tevez scored in the opening minute. Walter Samuel was sent off on the 21st minute for a two footed challenged. An own goal before half time gave Bury a 2-0 lead. Mesut Ozil finished the scoring with a cool finish. Burys 6th league win in a row, but not much change at the top of the table. *Transfer Update* Bury have sold Wiljan Pluim to Vitesse for £750,000. No new signings.

Re: Which of these to Sell and which to Keep? How many players would you like to keep, and how many to sell? Scout, htrakr and abidicus did a good job. Some of the others are good, but not must haves. Doumbia will be due a rise to 88. Aleksic could breakthrough. If Mariga gets even half the amount of games at Inter, he will rise. Julio Sergio will rise to 90 and beyond if he remains no.1 at Roma. Ait-Fana is a talent and should rise more in the future. Possibly the same for Tabanou if Toulouse have a good season. Macedo Michel is worth keeping. The rest are okay, but sell if you need some cash.

    EC2933 Reporting Thread

Re: English Championship 2933 Reporting thread The Hoops Advance Queens Park Rangers 3 Swansea 1 Queens Park Rangers made short work of Swansea at Loftus Road on Friday to advance to the Division 3 Playoff Final. Goals from M'Bengue, Zanetti and Fuster ensured a Hoops victory while Clint Dempsey provided Swansea's only goal. The result has angered some Swansea fans who felt that Swan's manager Al-Hendy lost the competitive edge when playing first team players on the last day of regular play even though they had already secured a spot in the playoffs. Pre -game Al-Hendy defended his position: "I made my decision, and I will live with it. In my mind, we had not secured 6th place as there was only a 6 goal difference between us and Southampton, and I did not feel like that was a safe enough margin for me to send out the B team. I also knew that there was a good chance for us to climb above Leeds, which did happen, and because of that we face QPR who's squad is significantly weaker than Nottingham's. The loss of Cris and Simplicio was a huge blow to the team and our morale, but we'll do our best to replace them and fight on. " It didn't work. Al-Hendy's descision to force a meeting with QPR rather than Notts Forest backfired, The Hoops looked like a team of destiny tonight while Notts Forest crashed out at home to Leeds, 4-2. Sgt Fury at the post game press conference: "First I would like to wish Al-Hendy all the best. He's a good manager and a good lad. Criticism about his game plans were in my opinion unfounded and before you jump down my throat about my "rookie decision" comments let me just say that it was all gamesmanship. If I was him I would have done the same thing. Facing us rather than Forest would have been my choice at the time so you can't blame the man. Having said all that I sure as hell wouldn't want to face us now. We were brilliant tonight and I have already told the boys so. Zanetti showed me something today. I gave him the captain's arm band because we needed a leader and that's what we got. Bloody Brilliant. Also M'Bengue stepped up, his solid work at the back was the cornerstone of our success, no question". When asked about the upcoming final against Leeds United: "It will be a tough test but nothing we can't handle. We don't fear them, and I'm sure they will say they don't fear us. But they had better respect us, that's a fact." The playoff final will be played on Sunday night and will be televised live on the Homecooking network.

    Official Liverpool Thread

Re: Official Liverpool Thread I'd actually love to play in Turkey or Greece for one of the big two in those leagues! I was reading an article on Matt Derbyshire about playing for Olympiacos and he said he's treated like a God over there and the fans are so passionate as you can see, especially in Turkey, considering the welcome they gave to the rubbish Darius Vassel. I'd rather play in Greece/Turkey than France tbh. Anyway, Reira will probably be there for a bit do well then get sold to someone like Getafe or something like you said.
