    Sky Blue Lee

    SM Forumers on FIFA 11.

This thread was inspired by Tom Erdenay's SM Forumers on Football Manager. With FIFA 11 on the horizon, I'm going to use my early access to the game's creation centre for something. I'm in the process of creating a team, and will fill it up by creating players based on SM Forumers. This is where you come in. Let me know of your position, attributes, physical stats, name, preferred number(s), footedness, etc. I'm going to make a somewhat balanced squad rated around 70-83. No higher really. Here's how it is at the minute. Team: Sporting Pork (they wouldn't let me use Sporting Fagbag ) Stadium name: Stade Du Ponce Squad so far, squad numbers in brackets (with forum usernames rather than real names I've used ingame): ST - Sky Blue Lee (3) ST - Midnight To Six (7) ST - Robocod (9) ST - Shack (20) ST - Derpee (32) RW - Baseball Furie (14) LM - Donkey Punch (33) LM - EdMoses (15) LM - Nathan Kirby (6) CM - Wesley Sneijder (5) CM - Kylan N-17 (8) CM - koplfc (17) CM - Kensational (10) CM - Jooles (16) RM - KopStar (11) LB - Dean89 (25) LB - Pazzano (18) CB - Sambalele (4) CB - Tom Erdenay CB - Chazza Bones (39) CB - Bourkey (26) RB - x Burrow x (12) RB - FabianDelphAVFC (2) GK - drseanfitz (1) GK - Dan Griffin (13) The squad cap is 25, and here is the cap on each position I want to fill, with the figure on the left being the number of players already there. Strikers: 6/6 - FULL! Midfielders: 9/9 - FULL! Defenders: 8/8 - FULL! Goalkeepers: 2/2 - FULL! Total: 25/25 - FULL! Your position can be either the position you usually play on FIFA, or, preferably, the position you play in real-life. I don't want an influx of strikers and wingers if possible. You don't need to have FIFA to take part! Just give me your details and I will create a version of you in the game. For those who do have FIFA, I will be making the team available to download once it is complete, so you can all use and edit the team as you see fit!

Re: English Championship 7046 Match Report/Tranfer Gossip Thread Division 2 Cliff's predictions Turn 12 wednesday 15th september Burnley VS QPR Burnley have been chucking along quiet nicely in division 2 so far and their defeat to division 2 leaders Nottingham Forest was only their second league defeat in 11 games. With a goal difference of +15 they are the second best scoring team in the division and with a good home record they will fancy their chances QPR stuck in mid table with a rotten run of 4 losses in 6 games this probably is not the best time to be facing a high flying team on away soil, they are slowly slipping away form the play-off places but still are a good few points above the drop zone ZANETTI is suspended Can see goals in this game sadly most of thoes goals for burnley their at home and have a good scoring record their beating pompy 5-1 Prediction: Burnley 3-1 QPR Pompy VS Doncaster Rovers Portsmouth were tipped for division 2 success this season they came down form division 1 with the best squad on paper. In fairness some will question the managers signings. Sitting one point for the drop zone moral is low in the camp a bad time to be playing play-off contenders Doncaster. Doncaster are doing well in the league 7th place and are really going for thoes play-offs not the game of the turn in division 2. Prediction:Pompy 0-2 Doncaster Ipswich town vs Watford Ipswich 5th in the league and will be there and there abouts for promotion come the end of the season. Good looking signing in S. NEYMAR the young lad brings attacking power to their play, Ipswich will not want to slip up after slipping a few places they will want to keep in touch with automatic promotion. Watford under new management well all know Hammer had a bad reputation before moving to watford and now new manager kylan hood will have to pick the team up but hammer did leave some good attacking players behind, 6th place just behind Ipswich only goal difference between the two sides. 6th vs 5th neither will want to lose touch with the pack above them with bristol city pushing on. Prediction:Ipswich 1-4 Watford Norwich VS Reading Norwich in the bottom 3 only buy a single point they will be hoping for a home win coupled with a Portsmouth lose. with out a win in their last 6 games. Reading 19th place 2 points behind Norwich a dog fight then with out a win in their last 6 like norwich losing 5 worrying times for reading the loser of this game will have a real fight on to stay up Prediction:Norwich 1-1 Reading Middlesbrough VS Leicester City Middlesbrough are one of division 2's strongest teams sitting 2nd place in the table however they are slipping behind Nottingham Forest while a lose for them and a win for Forest wont give them the league, but making thoes points up may be hard,Good attacking power middlesbrough have goals in them.won 5 of their last 6 games. Leicester pretty much mid table a fairly average team only made 3 signings so far and many see that as the reason why they are only just mid table. Prediction: Middlesbrough 4-0 Leicester Bristol City VS Derby County Bristol are pushing on now and are challenging for automatic promotion now in 3rd place the table is starting to take place they will want to stay their i believe they will be in the top 6 at least come the end of the season. Derby mid table sitting in 13th place and have been hit by Injuries a bad time to be playing 2nd place chasing Bristol city Prediction: Bristol 3-0 Derby Swansea VS Hull City Swansea a nice team signed safe players witch wont break the bank on wage bills,9th place and i think they will be happy with this as long as they are around the play-offs come the end of the season is yet to been seen but with strong signings when the transfer ban ends they could be a force in the second half of the season. Hull City like pompy expected to contest the title after coming down with a strong squad on paper, they have signed some good players on the up Hulk one of the stand out names joint top scorer in division 2 with 10 goals. How they are 15th and mid table is anyone's guess. Prediction:Swansea 1-3 Hull city Leeds VS Barnsely Leeds very much mid table but its not all bad after just coming up 17th would be a welcome finish, If they peak too soon they may crack they may be a gap between singings and players already at the club i think a sort out is what is needed. Barnsely 20th and bottom of the table and believe it or not they are already fighting for life in Division 2 they leak in goals -18 goal difference their signings are also highly questionable too. Prediction: Leeds 2-0 Barnsely Preston VS Cardiff City Preston are lingering just above the drop and will be aiming for mid table places come the end of the season not the most exciting team in division 2 do tend to let goals in at the back some of their signings are questionable. Cardiff City Always there and there abouts play-offs would have been a safe bet for any punter to put money on but now their down in the mid table region, cardiff had spent well to E. LAVEZZI being that signing but just has not adapted to english football. Prediction:Preston 0-0 Cardiff And finally last but not least ! Sheffield Utd VS Nottingham Forest Sheffield also have been knocking on the premier league door sitting jsut out side the play-off places they will soo badly want to push on and find a way into the top 6 i would not put it past them with some good signings already you never no maybe that little bit more is needed they have goals too in J. WILSHERE and C. KEIRRISON. Forest well what can we say are flying top of the table and not just they are a good few point ahead some amazing singings in Raul,Seedorf and abidal they are the spine of the team reyes is out injured and seedorf is suspended they score goals for fun, already i think they have enough points to at least stay top 6 give them until turn 19 and maybe they will have automatic promotion all be sealed. Can see goals in this game its a question of weather forest's defence can keep out sheffield's Wilshere and Keirriosn out Prediction: Sheffield 1-4 Forest Ipswich Vs Watford is my game of the turn 5th vs 6th the game is live on BBC 1 Kick off 20:00

Re: English Championship 5579 -Match Report/Transfer Gossip Thread Daggers boss looking for new era at Victoria Road Speaking in a press conference new Dagenham & Redbridge boss Shack O'Neill spoke of his delight being named the new boss and outlined his goals for the remainder of the season as well as running the rule over his new loanees. Obviously im delighted to be handed the job, being out of management for a while i was looking for the right opportunity to get back into the game and when this was offered i couldnt say no. This is a very proud club filled with ambitious and determined players who feel they can acheive more so im here to try and make that a reality. As we all know this league is one of the hardest leagues to escape from, but thanks to the previous manager the club are currently in a fantastic position to reach atleast the play offs possbily automatic promotion with a bit of luck on our side. When asked about his transfer policy the new boss had this to say In terms of transfers i have already spoken to a few players about their positions in the squad and already have ideas to trim it down a bit, these players have been transfer listed and i would like to thank them for their service getting us this far, but now im looking to make my stamp on the team and bring in my style of play. Loanees As of today i secured the loan signings of adam MATTHEWS from swansea which i believe will do us the world of good as our full back positions which currently doesnt look too strong so his addition is marvelous as he is a young eager player who will slot right into the team. As well as this we have also secured the services of Facundo BERTOGLIO from millwall for the remainder of the season, who again will be a valued addition to the squad, as he can play on the wings or behind our strikeforce helping to link the midfeild and defence together. Both loans are greatly appreciated and i would like to thank both managers for making this possible. On the up and comming match Notts county away is never an easy fixture despite the fact they are currently struggling near the bottom of the table, looking at their squad they have quality players who on their day can really hurt you, il be working on the training ground as much as i can before the game implementing my new style of play on the boys, and looking forward to getting back in the dugout and hopefully come away with 3 points.

Moritz Leitner Name: Moritz Leitner Date of Birth: Dec 8 1992 (Age: 17) Current Club: TSV 1860 München Position: Attacking / Central Midfielder Height: 1.74 m Nationality: German/Austrian Rating: 75 Prediction: none yet Well, it's been a while since I've made my last talent scout, and I wanted to wait with a new one until I found a real gem. Moritz Leitner could well be that player, despite only playing in the 2. Bundesliga. And even though I haven't really seen enough of him to make an in-depth analysis of all his strengths and weaknesses, he's convinced me enough in the one game I saw him in. The son of an Austrian mother and German father was born and grew up in Munich, and he's been playing for 1860 München's youth teams since the age of 6. In pre-season, he was allowed to train and play with the first team, and impressed his coach enough to be called up to the first team for this season. Obviously, he even impressed so much that he was in the starting line-up against in the first game of the season against Bochum, who got relegated last season and are favourites (amongst 5-6 other teams) to get up straight again. Despite losing 2-3, Leitner had an IMO amazing game, he never gave up and fought for every ball, showed good vision and some good dribblings, one of which lead to a goal. He wasn't as impressive in his second game, but again, he pre-assisted a goal. YDm_pWFnxcg lwwyXZjs4Eg For highlights from Leitner skip to 1:35 in the first video, where his dribbling and pass led to the assist for the 1-1, and 1:23 in the second one, again a nice dribbling and a good opening pass which lead to a goal. What I really like about this player is that, despite his skills on the ball, he always seems to have an eye for his team-mates as well in the right moment. He's not the typical selfish playmaker, when he sees a better placed player, he doesn't hesitate to pass the ball on, and he plays that passes at the right time and very precisely. As with most young players, I see his weaknesses in his physical presence, but that will probably change with time, and maybe he can improve his defensive duties a bit. Another thing that speaks for his immense talent is that he was called up for the German U-19 already, even though he only had an Austrian passport until shortly before his nomination. It doesn't happen very often that the German FA calls up players that would also be eligible for Austria

ROBERTO FIRMINO FIGUEIRENSE Roberto Firmino Barbosa de Oliveira October 2nd, 1991 Figueirense Attacking Midfielder 1.80 metres 2010 Serie B: 2 starts (2 goals) 2010 Campeonato Catarinense: 11 starts, 4 subs (4 goals) ROB2010 Roberto Firmino is an 18 year old attacking midfielder who is currently playing for Figueirense. He has been known for a while as their best young promise, but has taken off in the past two months and is now one of the best promises in Brazil. As a tall attacking midfielder somewhat reminiscent of Kaka, Firmino has already drawn attention from Europe. In fact, early in 2009 he has a trial for l'OM; and this year he has been repeatedly linked to Manchester United; all this before cracking the Figueirense starting 11. He got his debut last season, aged only 17, in 2 Serie B sub appearances late in the season once Figueirense's position was set. It took a good 5/6 games in this season's Catarinense until we got to see him, subbing in against Metropolitano on the 31st of January. After 2 more sub apps, he finally got his first start, against Chapecoense on the 10th of February, where he won the winning penalty. It didn't take him long to start adding goals to his playmaking skills. His first came on the 3rd of March against Brusque FC, followed by 2 goals in his next game again Joinville. He added one more in April to finish the Catarinense with 4 goals. 1st Catarinense goal: 0:30 2nd, 3rd Catarinense goals: (1st and 3rd) 4th Catarinense goal (2nd of the clip): Roberto Firmino was on fire heading into the Brasileiro, Serie B. But alongside his new status came bigger expectations. Well, he's delivered. After two games, Firmino scored the 1-0 goal in a 1-0 win over Sao Caetano and the 2-1 goal in a 2-1 win over Portuguesa. He was the most dangerous player in both games. Firmino is the type of player that Brazil is lacking at the moment. He's a true field general, in the mold of Kaka and Paulo Henrique Ganso. He'll not only lead the attack, but often push up and finish it. With big clubs like Manchester United and Marseille already interested, he'll be an interesting one to follow in years to come. Vid from last year.

    Scandanavian Risers

UPDATE : http://forum.soccermanager.com/showthread.php?t=68980 ^^^Check This Thread For The Lastest Rating Changes, Whatever League^^^ I would like this thread to be an open discussion on ratings and on-goings in all the scandanavian leagues. First time trying to predict ratings so if someone says something against my predictions they are probably right. Compiled solely on statistics, rarely watched any of the teams play in my life. Doing it bit-by-bit ill start with sweden. Sorry for the poor layout too i will try and clean it up later on. Well thats the predictions finished, in all 71 predictions have been made for Norwegian and Swedish leagues. Just to make sure everyone knows, THE DANISH LEAGUE IS NOT BEING REVIEWED, so don't buy any from that league unless you are prepared to wait for a while.I was going to go on and do finland, iceland possibly greenland if i could find the stats but seen as they have listed just them two leagues ill leave it there. I will post the results of how many i got correct/wrong when all ratings have been looked at. Finally, well done me for guessing the right leagues to be reviewed . I have been through the ratings done so far for the norwegian league, I have noticed I have over predicted a good few by 1. It is my first set of predictions and i don't think it is too bad considering this. Just be warned when buying my Swedish players that the same may happen, where they fall under my prediction by a rating. Hopefully i'll learn from my mistakes and whenever i decide to do another set of predictions i will get them spot on. Re: Dm 70-75 You could also try Michael Stephens, 21 year old midfielder for LA Galaxy. He is a 'Mid' only rated 73 (so will cost c£100k) 18 starts and 4 sub appearances so far this season - so I'm guessing he will rise to about 80 Enjoy! http://uk.soccerway.com/players/michael-stephens/97302/ (While we are on LA Galaxy, I'd also recommend Juninho if you need an AM - rated 75, 19 starts this season)

    Forum Improvement | Rep Overhaul

Re: Forum Improvement | Rep Overhaul Who cares about "rep" anyway? Well yes a bit BUT.... Why not just recommend a post as being worth reading ie everyone has an equal "vote" ie 1vote. A hundred people read it & 50% think its a good post, informative or funny or whatever. So it gets 50 votes (50 x 1vote). This could lead to a Post of the day section... OR post of the week... month .... year etc. An advantage to this would be to have all the best posts in one place, ie the weeks top twenty recommended posts etc Just a thought ... Why not recommend it? ;)

Re: English Championship 7046 Match Report/Tranfer Gossip Thread League Two Turn 12 Predictions Roy Keane hosts tonight as he gives you his expert opinion on the latest round of fixtures in the nPower League 2. It comes on the night of the return of the Champions League in which Tottenham threw away their 2-0 lead and Rangers held Man Utd to a memorable draw. Carlo Ancelotti, boldly, announced his team selection for Chelsea's opener tomorrow night where he has chosen Danny Sturridge to lead the line! I'm sure Turn 12 will prove to be an entertaining night for 7046 with so many people stepping upto the prediction plate. 6TnsPEMRcTw Stockport County (8th) VS Bury (10th) - Bury, managed by the well known Neil Matterson, travel to Edgeley Park to take on Stockport. Both clubs are in contention for the play off spots and it should be an interesting match. Bury have been off form of late, winning just 1 in 6 whlst Bury have been on the same form. On paper it seems a close tie but I expect Bury to win with Diego Amaya proving to be their driving force in recent games. Prediction - Stockport 1-2 Bury Exeter (4th) VS Shrewsbury Town (11th) - Shrewsbury Town make the trip to a somewhat rejuvinated and impressive Exeter City outfit, who have thrown themselves into the portmtion race with some blistering league form. Exeter's key man has been loanee Magaye Gueye who has scored a whopping 7 goals this season. Shrewsbury lost at the weekend, 2-1 to Northampton Town and will be looking to kickstart their season on tomorrow night. Howeevr, I expect Exeter to win this game quite comfortably. Predicition - Exeter 3-1 Shresbury Town Northampton Town (2nd) VS Brighton and Hove Albion (6th) This is very much the fixture of the turn for the nPower League 2, as this game is being broadcasted on Sky Sports 1 at 7:30 (K.O 8:00 PM). This is a mouth watering tie where Music Man's Northampton are flying high in the league to the shock and sheer joy of their fans who weren't sure where the club was going in pre season but Music Man ceratinly has brought his enthusiastic life-style into the team and it is clearly showing. Brighton on the other hand, were promotion favourites but two shock defeats in the last two games could cost Ashh's side dearly come seasons end as they now sit 6th and they could be lower after tomorrow night. However, I expect Brighton to bounce back in a very close and entertaining, free flowing match Prediction - Northampton Town 2-4 Brighton and Hove Albion Dagenham & Redbridge (14th) VS Southend United (9th) Dagenham & Redbridge go into the game full of hope with two major loans, Alan Hutton and Michael Dawson keeping previous leaders Brigthon at bay over the weekend, whilst captain Paul Benson is hoping to repay his faith in his manager by putting in a good performance tomorrow night. Southend are the clear favourites in this match but recent league form suggests they may struggle with 2 defats in 3 games and the earkly signs of quality slowly fading. I expect it to be a very close, scrappy game and presume Dagenham will nick in a goal but fail to keep a clean sheet. Prediction - Dagenham & Rebridge 1-1 Southend United Rotherham United (19th) VS Accrington Stanley (1st) Shock leaders Accrington Stanley travel to Don avlley to tackle lowly Rotherham United. Sccrington Stanley look a completely differant team since highly rated manager Aidan radford has come in and bought well and has used his contatcts to bring in some key loans. Rotherham on the other hand, cannot find form and are sitting 18th which is a surprise for a side that almost won the play off's last season. I expect Radford's Accrington to run away with the game and show Rotherham how it's done. Prediction - Rotherham 0-3 Accrington Stanley Other Predictions Oldham (3rd) 3 - 1 Wycombe Wanderers (12th) Leyton Orient (7th) 1-0 Hartlepool United (5th) Chesterfield (18th) 0-2 Aldershot Town (13th) Burton Albion (16th) 0-0 Tranmere Rovers (20th) Yeovil Town (17th) 3-3 Gillingham (15th)

Re: English Championship 3951 - Transfer/Gossip thread New Season Ambitions and Stoke Preview As the new manager of Leicester I am very excited for the upcoming 4th season in the prestigious 3951. I've inherited a great young squad and hope to continue building the side in the same vein throughout my time here. My chairman, Milan Mandaric expects promotion and I fully believe I can achieve that target, hopefully by claiming the league title. New signing from Charlton, Jack Rodwell. I've already started to add to the squad in both the first team and the spectacular youth ranks at the Walkers. Nicolas Otamendi, Aritz Aduriz and Jack Rodwell are expected to challenge the starting line-up after joining this summer and Soumahoro, Ruiz, Kroos, Gotze, Calvente and Leitner will go into the academy. I've also been tracking Derby goalkeeper Joe Hart though their manager is very reluctant to sell. I'll keep him in mind for the future but for now I'm happy with Soslan (Dzhanaev). Stoke provide our first challenge with the home game this weekend. They have had some illustrious managers in the past and have a very strong squad. We hope to capitalise on their low confidence having been relegated last season in a firm last placed finish. With a few injury concerns I hope to put out a side of Dzhanaev, Botia, Almeida, Otamendi, Insua, M'Vila, Pastore, Honda, Susaeta, Neymar and Aduriz. Another new signing; target-man Aduriz.

Re: How to beat 4-2-4? I never use a 4-2-4 unless I have too but even then i hae only won the match once, the main weakness is from the wings , if they don't push up their Fullbacks then use a 4-4-2, if they do, try a 4-3-3 wingers

    Your Formation With This Squad

Re: Your Formation With This Squad I'd go falcao over mata only because at AM Ronaldinho would play better than Mata at AM, seeing as Ronaldinho is a Fwd/AM, and because of Ronaldinho's 94 rating, he sould play better then the others change of plan Ronaldinho at AM, set as Playmaker Falcao as target man, should mean a LOT of goals for Fabiano

    How to beat 4-2-4?

Re: How to beat 4-2-4? i guess you are Chelsea ? and there are probably few managers in this english game world right? so since your squad is much higher, i would recommand the excatly same formation and instruction as his. of course you goal is to win, right? so if it doesn't work in half time or 60 minutes, change into use hard tackling direct passing, fast pace, counter attack and tight marking, attacking mentality use 433 in 75 min if still don't work

Re: The English (Mainly Premier) League Thread Being a Blackburn Rovers season ticket holder of 24 years, i can help out here. The starting line up is complicated when it gets to midfield because it usually depends on Dunny being fit as he's our gazza. Not many people know how much of a battle there is to get into our midfield. Here is a typical starting 11: Robinson, Givet, Samba, Nelsen, Salgado Diouf Jones/Nzonzi Pedersen Olsson Dunn Kalinic/M.B Diouf Pedersen is still thought of by many as a LM but for most of last season and the beginning of this one he's played as a CM. Due to the fact he is REALLY SLOW. Chimbonda got a rare game as a sub at City but never gets anywhere near the first team anymore. Best buys: Phil Jones, looks so accomplished for his age it's frightening and already makes someone like Carragher look like an amateur (not difficult granted). Better at CB than DM though. Chris Samba: Can't understand how he's still playing for us, an absolute menace, wins everything. Didier Drogb described playing against him like "playing a brick wall". Exactly what a team like Arsenal needs. Don't be surprised if Mancini tries to sign him because he tried whilst at Inter ;-) and his display against City on Saturday will have alerted him again. Hope to god he stays though. Kalinic: The new Matt Jansen. Holds the ball up outstandingly (berbatov like), touch and passing are excellent needs to start creating more goals for himself though rather than relying on service (good start with 2 in 4 this season). Very agile, very classy, very hardworking. Best up and comers: Grant Hanley: Struggled to get first team action this season but was man of the match in a win against Aston Villa at Villa park on the last game of the season. Future Scotland International. Jr Hoillett: Was the goal scorer in that 1-0 win against Villa, very very quick but needs to seriously work on that final ball. A bit like Lennon but less brains. Olsson: Ath Madrid and Valencia were all interested before he signed a new contract, every bit as good a Gael Clichy but better in LM. N'zonzi: Great passer of a ball but can be a little too casual in the wrong areas. Has the ability to dominate games when on form but still very young to have that level of consistency. Wenger was interested in him and Jones in the summer. Frank Fielding: Somehow got into Cappello's squad last month. Superb talent for the future. We (blackburn) have always had quality keepers e.g. Friedel, Flowers, Robinson and Given so trust our goal-keepng staff to do the same with Frankie.

Re: English Championship 7046 Match Report/Tranfer Gossip Thread SMFA Cup and SMFA Shield Preview - Turn 6 SMFA Cup Four English teams are represented in the SMFA cup, Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool, and Arsenal. The SM Assistant Manager takes hold of the reigns at Liverpool, but with the other three managers being gold members fate rests in their own hands. These reports will concentrate on gold members who have a say in their club’s success. Chelsea vs. Marseille Chelsea have already qualified as group winners so expect an experimental line-up against Marseille, who need Milan to trip up against Paris Saint-German if they also hope to qualify. Chelsea comfortably won the first game 1-0 away from home and even with some team tinkering they should be expected to do the same here. Prediction: Chelsea 2 - 0 Marseille Man Utd vs. Vfl Wolfsburg A must win game for Man Utd, currently sitting in second place in the table, some three points behind group leaders Athletico Madrid. With Roma and Wolfsburg just behind them on six points anyone could go through and with Man U’s home form being notoriously rocky so far this season qualification is by no means a certainty. Still, despite injuries to key players Man Utd should just squeak through. Prediction: Man Utd 3 - 1 Vfl Wolfsburg Liverpool vs. Genoa Sitting top of the group and playing at home Liverpool should be expected to cruise to victory here against bottom of the table Genoa. Easy Liverpool home win. Prediction: Liverpool 3 – 0 Genoa Arsenal vs. Napoli The chances of progression are not looking good for Arsenal, currently third in the group, some four points behind leaders Napoli. Arsenal must go all out for the win here and hope that second place Sevilla fall away at Porto. Expect Arsenal to put in a good showing, but to fall here at the first hurdle. Prediction: Arsenal 2 – 2 Napoli SMFA Shield Of the eight English teams represented in the SMFA Shield, three, Man City, Spurs, and Fulham have already qualified, and all of the other five are still in the mix to make it through to the next round. Out of these eight just four, Spurs, Everton, Sunderland, and West Ham, are managed by gold members, with the rest being left in the competent hands of the SM Assistant Manager. Man City vs. Galatasaray Way too many a’s in Galatasaray’s name if you ask me, it just seems wrong. That issue aside, there’s not a lot to play for here, with Man City already assured of qualification and Galatasaray already confirmed as bottom of the group. Expect Man City to rest key players to avoid bookings and yet still run out easy winners. Man City 3 – 0 Galatasaray FC Schalke vs. Spurs Oh how Spurs manager BC Cliffs must wish that the AI could take over the SMFA games to keep up the good run. Still, it doesn’t matter here with nothing riding for Spurs on this game having already won the group. FC Schalke need to win this one more than Spurs, which to the chagrin of Cliffs they likely will. FC Schalke 2 – 0 Spurs Lazio vs. Everton A do or die game here for Everton, with the winners assured of qualification. With injuries to key defenders Everton have a huge task against an attack-oriented Lazio who favour a 4-3-3 formation. Expect goals, and if (and only if!) Everton can get their tactics right then also expect Everton to turn things around here and sneak a well deserved away win. Lazio 1 – 2 Everton Aston Villa vs. Spartak Moscow A draw here will be good enough for Villa, whereas Spartak must win. Expect Villa to go through with the draw they need. Villa 2 – 2 Spartak Moscow Fulham vs. Athletic Club With Athletic Club already eliminated Fulham should win this comfortably, though who knows with SM’s crazy AI. Nevertheless, Fulham should win easily. Fulham 3 – 1 Athletic Club Sunderland vs. Palmero Sunderland has it all to do here against top-of-the-table Palmero. If Sunderland win they top the group, but a loss or even a draw means their fate will be decided by the Getafe-Rubin game, with qualification likely going down to goal difference. Palmero have a strong side on paper and their 4-5-1 formation was the undoing of Sunderland in the first leg. Expect Sunderland to learn from the tactical mistakes in the first game and just edge Palmero out. Sunderland 2 – 1 Palmero AJ Auxerre vs. West Ham Bottom versus top, but things are so tight that either club could still win the group. West Ham turned out to be comfortable winners in the first leg, although away from home things will be a bit trickier. West Ham should earn a draw, and that will likely be good enough for them to progress. Auxerre 2 – 2 West Ham Blackburn vs. Besiktas A draw will be good enough here to see Blackburn through in second. Still, Besiktas are a strong team and could well provide a shock upset. Blackburn 0 – 2 Besiktas

    How to beat 4-2-4?

Re: How to beat 4-2-4? I would suggest playing either 4-2-3-1 ---------------Cesar------------------- Ramos----Pepe----Samuel---Chiellini---- ---------Fabregas------De Rossi-------- Arshavin------Iniesta--------Robben---- ------------Higuiain------------------- Tackling Style : Hard Mentality : Normal Passing Style : Short Attacking Style : Through the Middle Tempo: Normal Pressing: Own Half The back four should be able to deal with the other teams attacking four given the far superior ratings however if you are not comfortable with that then maybe tick the box men behind the ball? The five man midfield should comfortably keep possession against their two but whilst you are attacking Arshavink, Iniesta and Robben will support your lone striker. That's my own personal opinion and do not claim it is foolproof but that's how i'd do it Let me know how you get on and how you decided to play!

    NFL Predict

Re: NFL Predict NFL Predict Resources There are a bazillion places to look for injury updates, standings, rumors, etc... For the uninitiated, here are just some random references that you can use for the various NFL games. Standings : NFL.com/Standings Stats : NFL.com/Stats Injuries : NFL.com/Injuries Odds : There are thousands of sites to choose from. I tend to look at an aggregator of various betting houses' lines, so I can get a feel for how the betting line has moved throughout the week. USA Today's is fine, but again there are countless others... USA Today Odds Expert Picks : Even the most knowledgeable NFL analysts on the planet only get 65% of their straight-up picks correct. Here are some sites that I look at... Experts USA Today Experts ESPN Game Day Overview : I find the USA Today site a good comprehensive site for the basics (odds, injuries, expected weather, historical match-ups, etc...) USA Today Match-Ups click on the various game match-ups for detailed info Power Rankings : Some pundits put together a rank of all of the teams in the NFL Pete Prisco's Rankings ESPN Power Rankings Jeff Sagarin Ratings USA Today Rankings Fox Sports Power Rankings Team Rankings Power Rankings - this one slices it multiple ways (e.g. home, road, last 5 games, etc...) Game Predictors : There are a few sites out there that have good game day predictors. These predictors simulate the game 1000s and 1000s of times and come up with a result. ESPN has 2 very good predictors. One of their predictors simulates the game on Madden 1000s of times and comes to a result. Their other predictor simulates the match-up 1000s of times given various situations and comes to a result. Unfortunately there isn't a set page that you can go to get the predictions. You have to go to the various match-up pages on ESPN.com and the predictor will be on there. Other than ESPN (which again has good ones) the following is a site which provide score predictors for the various games. Fox Sports Game Predictor Monday Night Total Points Tie Breaker : For the tiebreaker for the Monday Night game, Andy is going with Total Points. Sounds good. Just so everyone is on the same page... Every week for every game the betting experts and betting public have already weighed in on what they think is going to be the total points for any given game. It is usually called the Over/Under line. This number is available looking at any NFL odds. For instance, the San Diego X Kansas City game tonight has an Over/Under of roughly 45 points (seen in the odds HERE or HERE). Sometimes these Over/Under numbers are wildly off (as exemplified in this week's Minnesota X New Orleans game where the O/U was 47 points, but the teams only combined for 25); however, in most cases the O/U predictions are generally in the neighborhood (+/-7) of where the scores actually end up. So if you are going to pick a Total Points that is wildly different than what the Betting Public and the Odds Experts believe with the Over/Under number, hopefully you have backed it up with some sound out-of-the-box thinking. .

Re: English Championship 5579 -Match Report/Transfer Gossip Thread Matthews Joins Daggers For The Remainder Of The Season Adam Matthews Joins Dagenham & Redbridge for the rest of the season on loan Swansea City have announced that young right-back Adam Matthews has joined Dagenham & Redbridge on loan for the rest of the season, where he'll try and keep Dagenham in the play-offs but it'll be a hard task. Dagenham's defence is pretty thin and Adam Matthews was needed, he'll be a regular at right-back with Carbal Patric advancing up to right-midfield. Young Matthews made four appearances for Swansea this season, three of which starts with his most recent in there 1-0 defeat away to Reading where he came on as a substitute with half an hour remaining, Overall for Swansea he's made six appearances with five starts and the one sub appearance making two full appearances in his debut season at Swansea. He was used for the Youth Cup mainly in that season, and when it was all over he managed to bag a loan move to Divison 4 play-off hopefulls Bradford City where he got 14 appearances in the close season and all of which were starts. This season he was the vice-captain in Swansea's Youth Cup team after the age restrictions were reduced, originally he couldn't find a club but after the new Dagenham manager took charge Matthews was an immeadiate first signing. Matthews is earning a pretty high £11,550, and Dagenham are paying all of it with Swansea no prepared to subsidise the wage fee but on the other hand there's no immeadiate loan fee or any sort of loan fee for Dagenham to have to pay Swansea. He's on a 3 year contract at Swansea, but it'll be a relief for Swansea to get him off there wage bill with that sort of wages for a player who will only get the odd game as a 7th or 8th choice defender behind the main five first team defenders which will rotate to fill the four starting roles in the Swansea side. Matthews only chance of playing some more first team action in Division 2 will for a couple of first team player to be injured or suspended then Matthews might get a chance of some first team action but it's a long shot with the likes of James Tomkins not even able to get a chance at first team action. In terms of transfer news for Swansea there isn't any planned buisness buisness but they have made it clear that star players can go but only if somebody is willing to give them an offer to consider. Swansea don't want cash for the likes of Mikel Arteta, Carlos Cuellar, Joleon Lescott & Peter Crouch but they can leave aslong as a good bid is put in with a player going in the other direction.

    Antionio Mihaylov [AC Milan, 17yo]

Full Name: Antonio Mihaylov Nationality: Bulgarian ***: ??.??.1991 Age: 17 years old Position: AM/S C NOT ON DB A Bulgarian is part of the giants AC Milan. The 17yo Antonio Mihaylov is training with one the youth teams. Antonio has a 4 year contract with the club, but he's a big fan of Manchester United. He wants to be like Cristiano Ronaldo, although his position on the pitch is more similar to Berbatov's. His career so far is developing in the same way as Bojinov's. Being the latest Bulgarian to make it in Italy, he's friends with everyone in the team - the biggest partnership being formed with Cafu's son [Wellingtom]. Antonio Mihaylov went to Italy 12 years ago. At the time he was 7, but he didn't forget the Bulgarian language, although he's worried about making any mistakes. A year ago, the player-manager Emil Danchev gets involved in Antonio's career [note: he's most famous for managing Berbatov]. Mihaylov's brother also played in AC Milan's academy, but he's now playing for another team. His father is a former footballer - Krasimir Pirchev. "Danchev hasn't met me with Berbatov, but I dream about that." the talented player said. "I love playing behind the striker, but I can also play alongside him. The tactic is likewise as the one they employ for the first team. Too bad it's hard to make the jump to the seniors." Before the start of the season, the legendary Franco Baresi was coaching the youngster. Antonio is said to have been of his favorites. "Antonio, don't try to score beautiful goals. It's important to get the ball in the net" the Rossoneri youth coach yells out during the practice. "They say I don't have much aggression on the pitch. I don't think I can add that to my personality. I just look for the pleasure of football" Antonio pointed out. Emil Danchev is closely following his latest gem. The impresario finds the time to visit one of Milan's camps. Danchev has a talk with Mihaylov's coach, but doesn't want to share any details. "The following months are very important. I spoke to his coach and he's pleased with Antonio" Danchev said briefly. Antonio looks like a serious lad and he also knows that it's going to take a lot of sweat to appear at "San Siro". The logical question is if that boy, grown up in Milano, is thinking about his home country. It's obvious - on the display of his phone you can see the Bulgarian flag. Mihaylov and Cafu's son

    Primera División de Argentina

Re: Primera División de Argentina Sorry for the slow reply Caleb. Bordagaray - is still to rise to 84 this week. After that, his rises will be minimal. He's in and out of the side right now and I can't see him getting above 85 in the next 6-12 months. Nunez - can't get off the bench right now. Short-term, I'd certainly sell him. Long-term, he might be worth keeping, but I'd lean towards selling. Oberman - probably sell this guy as well. AJ are a shadow of the side that won the Clausura and will struggle greatly in comparison this season. I think Oberman might be injured right now, so despite being a starter, he's not gonna see any great improvement next time.

    SMEL Squads Thread

Re: SMEL Squads Thread Previous Manager: andyowls "A" Team: Hugo Lloris Ligue 1 goalkeeper of the year for the past 2 seasons, Lloris starts for his national side and is regarded as the best young 'keeper in the world. Sven Ulreich Just 21 years old and set to start in goal for Stuttgart next season. Besides, the German goalies are always superb. Vedran Corluka Tall, skilled player across several positions. Very good on the ball, in the air and in the tackle. Evgeni Makeev Talented young Russian who can play at wing-back on either side of defence. Currently plies his trade at Spartak Moskva. Nedum Onuoha This could well be his break-out season. Very very fast, very strong and also got good technique. Underrated due to injuries. Bruno Alves Former Portuguese player of the year is an absolute rock at the back. It'll take a strong attack to get through him. Vincent Kompany Able at CB and DM, Kompany is another rock at the heart of Racing's defence. Similar attributes to Bruno Alves. Michael Dawson One of the best CBs in England last year and rewarded with a World Cup spot. Very important for Spurs with the fitness issues of King and Woodgate. Phil Jones One of the most promising young CBs around. Aged just 18 he was the best player on the field when he came up against Drogba. Domenico Criscito Young Italian wing-back who starred at the World Cup. Gets forward well down the left flank and puts the ball in the box. Roberto Canella Another young full-back. Voted top young Spanish left-back in 08/09 and will provide excellent cover for Criscito. Xabi Alonso World Cup winner in the heart of midfield. Strong tackler and one of the best passers in the game. Will be used as a deep lying play-maker at Racing. Massimo Ambrosini A bit more grunt in the centre of midfield and a bit of experience to boot. Has won everything going in Italy. Tom Huddlestone Some young muscle here with a player who should really have travelled to SA. Gained a lot of consistency last year and has a wicked shot from distance. David Albelda Veteran DM can still cut it at the top however mainly drafted in to cover injuries. Should link up well with Alonso. José Jurado Neat play-maker who can also fit in on the left wing. Talented on the ball and also has quite a shot on him. James Rodriguez Another great young talent at Racing. Plays a similar role to Jurado and will fight for a starting berth in a free enganche role. Aaron Hunt Good goal-scorer from the midfield at Werder though often overlooked for some of their younger stars. Has bags of natural talent. Honorato Ederson Juninho's replacement at Lyon and has settled well playing in all Lyon's Champions League games. Strong from set-pieces. Lee Chung-Yong Very good player at unfashionable Bolton. Should be freed up a bit more next season with Coyle in charge. Lisandro Lopez A real-life graduate of Racing, he was the best player in Ligue 1 last season. Very good goal to game record and he'll be the star man up top. Fabio Quagliarella Very good pick-up later on in the draft, Racing have a plan with this Italian international who has a penchant for the surprise himself. Marouane Chamakh The big target-man at Arsenal will replicate that role here. Can score with his head or his quick feet and will also look to provide for the players behind him. Liedson Good auto-pick who gets 20+ goals a season regularly in Portugal. Lighter and nippier than his competitors to give a different option up-front. Louis Saha Stunning natural talent that still shines through an injury-marred career. Can cut the mustard at every level of the game and a bit of a cult hero. Youth/Reserve Team Pereira Douglas Promising young Brazilian right wing-back who is already playing lots of games for Goias and the national U20 side. Jeffrey Bruma Brilliant Dutch centre-back prospect looking to get some minutes at Chelsea next season. Wellington Gum Another promising Brazilian defender. This one out for some time injured but the class remains. Tomas Kalas Talented young Czech CB bought by Chelsea this summer and will move there in 2011. Impressive in the U17 Euros too. Leandro Cabrera Part of the Atletico Madrid youth revolution but has attracted interest from other Spanish clubs. Versatile Uruguayan defender. Mattia Desole Captain of the Swiss U17 side who's recently signed a contract with Milan after spending his youth career at fierce rivals Inter. Michael Johnson Tipped to be an England starter in the past, he needs to get his social life back on track which I reckon he will this season. Zakaria Labyad Likely to take over from Afellay as the creative hub of PSV's midfield. Another top Dutch prospect. Aaron Ramsey Great young Welsh prospect. Will hopefully break through at Arsenal when Fabregas moves on and did brilliantly last season in parts before his unfortunate injury. Graeme Dorrans Bit of a gamble with West Brom expected to struggle but this guy has real quality which he'll demonstrate next season. Romarinho Stab in the dark here as he's never played a minute for the senior Palmeiras side. Dominated the Brazilian youth system thus far though. Gai Assulin Product of the Barcelona youth system though released this summer. Confident Israeli with bags of ability. Gerard Deulofeu Touted as the next big thing at Barca since the age of 14. Now 16 he rocked the U17 Euros with Spain scoring direct from a corner in one game. Matheus Oliveira Star player in the Brazilian U15s now doing well in the U17s an should play in their World Cup next year. Oh, and he's Bebeto's son. Cristian Tello Another Barcelona youth, this one called back by the giants this summer and will play in their B team for the upcoming season. Rogelio Funes Mori Youngster with a great scoring record in Argentina with head and feet including a hat-trick against Racing. Wilson Cuero Another young Colombian whose good form for Millinarios and the national youth sides got him a move to Udinese, possibly via Granada. Balde Ibrahima Broke through at Atletico last season and with their big guns likely to move on he could get a proper shot next season. Orlando Sa Porto youngster has already been called up to the full Portugal squad. On loan at Nacional to get game time this season. Marco Perez Will debut for the full Colombian side in November after a superb first season which has earned him a 2 year loan at Zaragoza.
