A resplendent Thorgan Hazard in Belgium's kit Full Name: Thorgan Hazard Date Of Birth: 29th March 1993 (18) Nationality: Belgian Club: RC Lens Position: Winger Squad Number: NA Honours: None, Belgian U17, U19 Caps SM Rating: Not On DB Predicted SM Rating: 75 Potential SM Rating: ★★★★★★★★★★ - 92+ Potentially The New: Eden Hazard/Franck Ribery OK, so we have all heard of Eden Hazard, the super talented young Belgian who's taken the footballing world by storm, starred for Lille in his teens, been courted by Real Madrid, Arsenal, Inter Milan et al, has drawn comparisons to the legendary Zinedine Zidane and has broken into the Belgian National Team, all accomplished by the ripe old age of 18. Well the Hazard family have another absolute gem coming through (and incidentally; have yet another potential wonderkid in Ethan Hazard, still in Belgium) in second born son Thorgan, tipped by both Lens coach Jean-Guy Wallame and brother Eden to be even better than the emerging 18 year old. Thorgan comes from a family steeped in football heritage, aside from the obvious his mother was a referee and his father Thierry played briefly as a professional for AFC Tubize. Like Eden, Thorgan Hazard was scouted and snapped up by a French Ligue Un team, in this case it was for the eternal rivals of OSC Lille: Lens. At 14 he was turning out for Lens' U17s, and has since featured twice for the reserves; managing an assist into the bargain and is a solid starter for their U19s. Of course comparisons were drawn between the two brothers, and this wasn't to be unnoticed by Belgium Under 17s coach Bob Browaeys who has called up the tricky dual flanked winger on nine occasions, starting him six times and recieving four assists and one goal in return. Alongside Rits, Raman and Arslanagic, he is one of the youngsters tipped for the very top of the footballing spectrum by his international coach who had this to say (Translated using Babelfish, anything *starred* is my translation of anything that didn't translate): Belgian U17 Coach: Bob Browaeys Already his talents have been spotted by much bigger clubs, with Barcelona believed to be checking up on him regularly after youth coach Alejandro Garcia was spotted talking with club officials and Hazard after a training session in October. Despite attracting attention from European giants Hazard has his feet planted firmly on the ground, and has ambitions only to play for Lens (at the moment...!), who he is expected to turn out for after his seventeenth birthday in March; when he will be promoted to the senior squad alongside Geoffrey Komdogbia. Despite starting out as an attacking midfielder, Thorgan has found himself appearing as an out and out winger down both flanks; showing versatility and ambidextous ability which will eb perfectly suited to the French game, where he will have to compete with Boukari, Roudet and Doumeng for a starting berth. n_TFlYDNSGw Typical Youtube compilation of Thorgan - worth a look! UPDATE: Thorgan now has a Professional contract with Lens. Signed in the Summer of '10, it concludes in July 2013 and notched up his first ever 'real' appearance for Lens' first team in which he scored their only goal in a 1-1 draw in a friendly with Belgian side K.S.V. Roeselare. Technically if the French fourth division was on the database, Thorgan would already be on the SM database. Since the start of the 10/11 season, he's been a mainstay in the RC Lens Championnat de France team (the equivalent of our 'reserve teams', however the league itself is the equivalent of League 2). His impressive form lead to the full Lens team calling him up to the subs' bench for the home clash against Bordeaux in May, however despite winning 1-0, Hazard wasn't called upon; although 11/12 is finally set to be the season in which the youngster becomes a fully fledged member of RC Lens' first squad. After coming of age at 18, Thorgan was quickly thrust into the Belgian U18 side, although he only managed to play one game in which he scored one and assisted the other as the Belgians beat Ukraine's U18s 2-1. Given his impressive debut, Thorgan jumped up immediately to the U19 side and debuted against Belarus in February. He scored the only goal in a 1-0 win, a 25 yard half volley just after half time. In qualifying for the 2011 UEFA European Under-19 Football Championships he played every minute of Belgium's three matches in stage one qualification, assisting two out of the four goals in the matches - of which he scored one himself which turned out to be an 88th minute winner in their 3-2 win over Croatia past Chelsea's Matej Delac. Thorgan Hazard In action for Lens' Reserves So Belgium emerged unbeaten with Hazard Mk.2 as the star of the show, but they failed to replicate their form in the (ongoing, as it is) Euro U19 Championships in Romania. Belgium's initial match against Spain, red hot favourites for the Championships, was delayed due to bad weather, forcing the replay a day later. Belgium were trounced 4-1, but Thorgan notched up the assist for Belgium's sole goal. Two 1-1 draws against Serbia and Turkey later and Belgium are out of the U19s. Thorgan played every minute, and despite an assist failed to impress in his latter two appearances. Interestingly however, both Hazard and Brugge's Maxime Lestienne have been tipped to move up to for the Belgian U21s - so watch this space!

Re: English Championship 7046 Previews & Predictions Thread SMFA Cup and SMFA Shield Previews Quarter Finals, Leg 1 SMFA Cup Short and sweet this time. So as expected Chelsea and Man Utd progress with ease in the last round. More importantly they managed to avoid one-another, surely the biggest hurdle they both face. So now down to the last eight, and Chelsea face Valencia, while Man U take on Ukrainian giants Shakhtar. The other four remaining teams are Napoli, Juventus, Inter, and Marseille. LDxFtQgoWt8 Well, it’s Monday so I guess the Boomtown Rats is as good a choice as any. Never knew what this song was really about until now. Bit sick really. Chelsea vs. Valencia Always nice to have a home tie to start to put the match out of reach. Surely there’ll be little to trouble for Cheslea here given that Valencia’s team is rated just 87 and they’re having to play 82-rated ex-QPR lad Fitz Hall at the back. Really the only question is can Chelsea manage to win this one though without conceding an away goal? Prediction: Chelsea 3 - 0 Valencia Man Utd vs. Shakhtar Like Chelsea United start off at home, more of a fortress now than earlier in the season. Shakhtar though might actually put up a bit of a fight this one, boasting an average rating of 89 and possessing enough talent to keep Man U on their toes. SoP will want to put this match to bed in the first game but don’t be surprised if they’re still left with it all to do come the second leg. Prediction: Man Utd 2 - 1 Shakhtar SMFA Shield Well it had to happen. Two of the eight English teams were eliminated last round, Man City and Fulham, leaving six to still fly the flag. Of those six, just four are still in the hands of Gold Managers, Spurs, Sunderland, West Ham, and Everton, who have some say in their club’s fortunes. It was inevitable that these sides were going to start meeting up during the finals rounds and the two all English ties are the featured rounds this week. Best of luck to all clubs still involved. Spurs vs. Blackburn Tottenham will be brimming with confidence for this game after convincing wins both home and away against Borussia Dortmund in the last round, while Blackburn just edged through against Palmero courtesy of an 80th minute winner by Brazilian striker Brandao. In the league Blackburn have had the upper hand, winning 3-2 in the last encounter after drawing 3-3 in the first match-up between these sides. With the AI pulling the strings for Blackburn Spurs should have come out on top here, but with Blackburn quite capable of scoring the odd away goal things will still be up in the air come the return leg at Ewood Park. Prediction: Spurs 3 - 1 Blackburn Aston Villa vs. Ajax Ajax were the undoing of Fulham in the last round, in a large part thanks to the heroics of former Man United shot stopper van der Sar. Expect a tight tie here with it all to play for in the second leg. Prediction: Aston Villa 0 - 0 Ajax West Ham vs. Sunderland West Ham played it cool last round to beat Lille away from home and edge into the next round. For Sunderland things were a little tighter, and they rode a frantic PSV effort to avoid conceding a last minute winner, going through on away goals. They’ll not permitted to rest on their laurels here against a hard working West Ham side though. While both sides recently showed their class by progressing into the semi finals of the English Cup last night it will be West Ham who are most confident going into this one, having twice beaten Sunderland in the league this season. On the night though it will likely be a close encounter with little to choose between the two. Prediction: West Ham 2 - 2 Sunderland Dynamo Moskva vs. Everton Not a bad little draw for Everton this and they’ll probably quite fancy their chances here. Still, Dynamo have a relatively strong side, as is often the way for the Russia teams who seemed to get neglected somewhat in the early transfer fury. Everton need to take care to avoid being too overconfident though as Dynamo are still unbeaten in this competition this season, having defeated Blackburn back in the group stages. Everton might find the going hard here and could well have it all to do back at Goodison. Prediction: Dynamo Moskva 1 - 0 Everton

Re: English Championship 5579 -Match Report/Transfer Gossip Thread Pizarro set to complete move to Preston Pizarro in his Bremen days Preston North End have pulled off a major coupe in Peruvian hitman Claudio Pizarro from Werder Bremen for £7.5M. Pizarro previously had a spell in 5579 for Reading where he scored 7 goals in 14 appearances and was a firm fan favourite at the Madejski Stadium. Pizarro is the second player to join Preston that had a stint at Reading along with fellow foward Eduardo. Pizarro's arrival at Deepdale has gone down well with the Preston fans with many of them taking to Twitter to celebrate his arrival and state that with Pizarro, they can do anything. The club earlier in the week sold Kevin Gameiro to Lorient and the Preston fans were left wondering what Walshe was thinking but Pizarro's arrival has answered his critics. Wage wise Pizarro is reportedly set to net above £40,000 which would take him high up the list of the top earners at Preston. With Eduardo failing to impress The Lilyehite faithful, is Pizarro going to start ahead of him on Wedensday and make his highly anticpated debut?

Re: Football Club Internazionale Milano - World Championship 10000 (please do not pos Division 1 - League Game 15. All Even At The Bernabéu Real Madrid 2 - 2 Inter Benzema 31, Dani Alves (OG) 71 - Robinho 35, Dani Alves 66 MOM Robinho Celebrating His Goal With Ronaldinho. The much anticipated match between these two world-class teams failed to disappoint. The game itself was very even throughout and after a long battle of possession in midfield it was Real Madrid who broke the deadlock when in the 31st minute Alonso fed a wonderful ball through to Benzema who casually dummies Julio Cesar and slots the ball into the empty net. 1 - 0. It was not long until Inter were straight back into the game when just four minutes later Ronaldinho chipped a inviting cross into the Real Madrid penalty area for Robinho to finish with a spectacular overhead kick. 1 - 1. Both teams continued the midfield game and were finding it extremely difficult to break down the others defence. Raul Albiol picked up the first yellow card of the day for a off the ball incident involving Baptista just before the close of the half. Half Time 1 - 1. Dani Alves Scoring His Magnificent Solo Goal. The second half continued in very much the same fashion as the first with both teams looking to break down the others defence. In the 53rd minute Pepe received a yellow card for blocking a run from Ronaldinho. Both teams had there chances but it was in the 66th minute when Baptista released Dan Alves on a forging run who struck the ball with menace straight past Iker Casillas, a truly memorable goal. 1 - 2. Real Madrid were now more on the offensive and were looking to get back straight into the game and with only five minutes since Inter took the lead there was a melee in the box where the ball bounced off Dani Alves and ended up in the back of his own net. 2 - 2. Real earned there third yellow card when Carvalho was cautioned for raising his arm against Robinho. The game was losing to a end with both teams wary of pushing too many players forward and both looked content to settle for a draw. Final Score 2 - 2. MOM Robinho. Josip Ilicic has showed why the Palermo president, Maurizio Zamparini, and the rest of the Palermo board decided to invest a couple of millions € in both him and his fellow countrymen, Armin Bacinovic. The flair, techincal bit and the one-on-one situations are Ilicic's strongest sides and Ilicic and Pastore has created a feared Argentinian-Slovenian attacking-duo. With his powerful shot, Ilicic is aswell a danger on set-pieces. yI7JZGKPWsQ

    Young (and cheap) GK?

Re: Young (and cheap) GK? He's great from the very little I've seen of him, but unfortunately I've mostly seen Youtube montages... Dynamo are raving about him and IMO it won't be long before he's ahead of Shovkovsky. He'll continue to rise gradually until he moves or makes his big breakthrough.
