  2. Re: Official Gold Championships Discussions Thread GC28 - Its been an unusually busy few weeks for Manchester United, as a few big names have come in and gone out of the club...... First of all, Souza Robinho was sold to Milan in return in came Mats Hummels in a straight swap. Following on from this Stevan Jovetic also made the move to Old Trafford with Rio Ferdinand departing for Milan. Earlier this week a deal was also agreed with Bayern Munchen for the transfer of Bastian Schweinsteiger, with Juan Mata and Kevin-Prince Boateng heading to Germany. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Then yesterday it happened, I finally signed my top target since the GC was made. Lionel Messi made the move to United!!! Unfortunately we had to lose a few up and coming stars, but it was worth it in order to be able to afford the Argentine superstar. Mesut Ozil, Moura Lucas (signed for £750k) and Jordi Alba (signed for £7.3m) all head to Werder Bremen.

  4. PETERBOROUGH UNITED ANOUNCE HIRING OF NEW MANAGER GEOFFREY Peterbrough is arguably the smallest team in the set-up with only a 19 player sqaud, and a 15000 seat stadium. This makes it especially tough for us to bring in New Talent with Player exchange deals. Whats worse, our best player is rated 82. In order for me to stay up in Division 2, I'm going to have to buy risers, cheap serviceable players, and young talent. Hopefully, this will be the winning formula to keep Peterborough in Division 2. Goal: Finish and Stay in Division 2 Current Task: Rebuild the squad of Peterbrough. THE POSH REVOLUTION STARTS NOW! FEAR THE POSH!

  5. I just joined another GC set up and as you know it is so hard to loan a good GK from anybody so i decided to start this tread so we can get some info on good gk's its hard to get the info thru the websites since they only show minutes and not really the quality of the gk Here is few that i found : 1 Kuciak - Legia Warszawa - there is so many gk's that came out of Legia Boruc , Szczesny , Mucha , after getting burned on transfer of Antolovic last year , this year Kuciak has been the best gk in Poland and had better stats that ANY of Legia's gk's - EVER ! If history will repeat it self i see him going to EPL within a year. Rated 85 , 27 yrs old - worth buying - gk's are like wine .....the older the better 2 Kelemen - Slazk Wroclaw - A bit on the older side he is 32 but if not him Slazk would not be a champion of Poland this year - i watched him in 7 matches and i would put him right there with tyton or even Boruc Cheap 3.1 mil rated 83 and next time around i see him getting solid +2 depends on how well Slazk will do in the Champions L Qualifications 3 CHICHIZOLA - 22 yr old 78 started 18 games for River Plate ! I think that and the fact that River Plate is comming back to Primera División should give him a nice bump 4 BĂLGRĂDEAN - Dinamo Bucaresti starting gk. from what i read - big riser ! 24yrs old currently 77 and i don't know much about him but he did started in 30 games last year so i see him getting solid +4 - +5 Good luck and i hope you can throw some of your pics we can all use a solid gk !

  8. Re: Help With Deal(s) Thread... Yes he is. Malaga will play to get into the CL proper, and he was a big reason his team finished fourth in Spain. Salomon Kalou for 25 million? I don't know what is going to happen with him, and right now I could do with cash. It is a GC in the first season.

  11. Re: Official Euro 2012 Thread Well here's my analysis of he game for what it's worth. First 20 minutes was perfect, never seen us play possession football like that before to be honest, created a couple of decent half chances and looked like we were better than Italy, also the rest of the first half was quite even as well as both sides had good chances. Still what cost us this result was the players mindset from the second half onwards,no possession at all,and just stuck 10 men behind the ball for absouletely no reason, never seen an even game in the first half and then a side just decide to sit back for the rest of the game, got what we deserved in the end,we've done this for years though and it's no fault of Hodgson's and the new regime, this is an old rooted problem that needs to be tackled head on,if we played some football like we did in the first 20 minutes and carried on that way we might have got something out of that, instead we just sat back and let Pirlo and Italy give us the runabout. Until this is tacked head on we'll never get anywhere, although to be honest we've done far better in this tournament than I thought possible and the first half against Italy was really encouraging for the future, the back five was fantastic all tournament as was Gerrard and Welbeck. However the game was screaming out for one English player tonight, unfortunately he was on a sofa in Manchester watching the game instead of playing it,Michael Carrick would have been perfect for that game, simply keeping the ball efficently and letting us get some kind of grip on the game,English people talk about liking players with technical ability yet most are blind to see how good and valuable a player like Carrick can be in a situation like this, sure he's no Pirlo but his the best we've got at the moment. They played with some pride and got to the quarter final which is the best we can do with this average bunch of players, however if we play like we did in that 20 minutes more often in the future we might actually move forward as a side,at least it wasn't a humilation like two years ago in South Africa. I fully believe in Roy Hodgson and the side moving forward and well done to the England side on a good solid tournament.

    Help With Deal(s) Thread...

Re: Help With Deal(s) Thread... Put it simply.. I prefer Ozil > Silva > Ribery. So in your case' date=' you can settle for Silva + Ozil. But Ribery is not bad too, he's already ahead in rating, the only thing is age, but he's a very solid 95 at current rate. With Silva/Ozil, you can only hope they catch up to 95 sooner than later, might be next season, might be 1 or 2 more, nobody knows how they'll fare in the future. Average deal, most people will prefer to have the 3 players. But if the 3 are not the best players in your current squad then you can consider the deal.

  41. Re: English Championship 7046 Previews & Predictions Thread The Championship (predictions lite) Turn 29 – Weekend Games – 23-06-12 Charlton Athletic - Stoke City Charlton are flying again this season and will be hoping to keep this good run going. Some injuries will cause them some problems here though. Stoke have performed ok so far but will need to improve if they want anything from this game, or this season. Looking at the sides Stoke look stronger, but considering form and I think Charlton will win this one. Charlton Athletic 1 – 0 Stoke City Bury - Cardiff City Bury look like a solid outfit and although not very well situated in the league are unbeaten in recent weeks. The squad is fully fit ahead of this game. I had expected far more from Cardiff this season as they aren’t a bad side, but they sit last at the minute and time is running out for them. They will have players missing for this game to make things that little bit harder. I can’t see past Bury for this game. Bury 2 – 0 Cardiff City Wigan Athletic - West Ham United Amazingly Wigan still sit first in the league despite losing four of their last 6 matches. It’s a strong side however and they look like solid promotion candidates despite their poor form. West Ham’s well-travelled manager has hit a rough patch lately but they are still in with play-off hopes. Injuries here may cause them more problems. Two of the league’s better sides meet here with not much between them, a draw seems most likely. Wigan Athletic 2 – 2 West Ham United Blackpool - Plymouth Argyle Its been a terrible run for Blackpool of late but with the side fully fir they stand a chance of getting something here. Plymouth have been performing ok recently and with a strong side will be hopeful of climbing the table to recent no hopers Blackpool here. Plymouth really should win this on recent form but I can’t rule out Pool’ completely. Blackpool 1 - 2 Plymouth Argyle Preston North End - Birmingham City Preston’s busy manager still has a few areas to strengthen and they are performing well below expected levels so far this season. Suspensions will weaken them further here. Despite possessing one of the strongest sides in the league Birmingham have been rubbish this season and look likely for the drop. They will only have themselves to blame should it happen though. Struggling Preston should be able to find some relief here and win in comfort. Preston North End 2 – 0 Birmingham City Doncaster Rovers - Burnley Rovers have been very poor of late and will need to be much better to have any hopes here. The side is fully fit however. Burnley have over performed this season and are looking good, but have several players missing ahead of this game. Rovers will struggle here and I don’t see them getting anything from this match. Doncaster Rovers 0 – 2 Burnley Rochdale - CARLISLE UNITED Two old friends collide here in the Battle Of The Scouts. Rochdale have been performing to a decent level so far this season but could do with more quality in the side if they want to push for Division 1. Some astute loan players will help here and a fully fit side. Carlisle have been performing poorly this season and find themselves struggling. Arguably the second strongest team in the league, they have been hampered by an inept manager but are still in play-off hopes. Several key players missing will not help here either however. Carlisle have been better in the league this season and have a far stronger side, so, as a result, I can only see this going one way. Rochdale win… Rochdale 2 – 0 CARLISLE UNITED Coventry City - Blackburn Rovers New manager Adam Devitt has inherited a strong squad and will be hoping to push on from here. He can’t do much worse than the last manger at least. Blackburn look to have stabilised and have performed better than last season so the manager is going in the right direction at least. Some injuries won’t help here though and this will be a tough game. Tough one to call this, so I won’t. Coventry City 1 - 1 Blackburn Rovers Watford - Swansea City Watford look like they have got their act together at the right time as they try to continue moving away from the drop zone. A few missing players will hamper them here though. Swansea have looked good this season despite a few recent blips. Key players missing here may tip the balance away from them however. Watford may just about pull another one out of the hat here but I’m reluctant to write Swansea off and will go for a draw. Watford 2 - 2 Swansea City West Bromwich Albion - Sunderland The Baggies have struggled in recent weeks and find themselves slipping the wrong way again. They should get back on track soon however, but maybe not here. Sunderland should be walking this league but can’t seem to get any consistent form going. Regardless its extremely strong squad, especially at this level, and will only improve. I can’t see past Sunderland here and they should record a comfortable win here. West Bromwich Albion 0 – 2 Sunderland Note: As I’m limited to 15 images for 20 teams some have missed out on having their logo displayed... Its unfortunate, but so is my Mrs's face......

    The New Players Thread

Re: The New Players Thread so the opinion is i post on here to try to dissuade others??? nonsense. i do it to add another opinion, a realistic viewpoint to help people decide whether they really should spend 2.9M on a 75 rated player...when they could invest in a 82/83 player not as well know by the forum...take my latest acquisition in one of my competitive GWs, Tunay Torun. of course their are players on this thread i haven't commented on which i do rate and of course their are loads i wouldn't bother with.
