My superiority was notable, with 14 shots on target and 58% of ball possession for my side. Another great new was the return of Luis Fabiano from a injury. My team continues 3 points above Manchester United, with a goal difference of 18 goals between the two teams. 5 more wins and I'm the second division champion .

  5. Re: English Championship 7046 Previews & Predictions Thread ONE MATCH FROM EACH DIVISION PREVIEWS SMH's Views may offend. Previews 1st game of season Division 1-Division 4 Division 1 game: Man City -Huddersfield One of the teams finished 2nd and the other finished 16th last season, yes definitely Freaky Friday stuff. Will Pred be able to do what he failed to do last season and get 3 points from Huddersfield? With Messi and Higuain up front it sure is possible. Huddersfield will be many managers club/club manager of the season, will they and their old men Totti & ADP be able to keep it up this season and produce the goods yet again? Prediction : 2-3 Division 2 game: Bury-Newcastle Bury manager Neil always wanted to test himself out against the big boys well today he has his chance against fallen giant Newcastle, between them Carl and Neil have managed 528 games in the set up yet this is the first meeting of the sides. Newcastle are by far the superior side on paper even missing the suspended Benzema but will the Toons form from D1 haunt him down in D2 or will he do a Mo and ping-pong straight back to the top flight at first time of asking? Bury started very poor last season but came with a late rattle to nearly sneak the play-offs,can he put that right and get off to a flyer? Prediction: 2-2 Division 3 game: Barnsley -Birmingham The match up of Stephens.Barnsley promoted from the 4th and Birmingham relegated from the 2nd . 350 + games managed between the 2 managers and its the first meeting between the pair, not much difference between the sides on paper, slight strength to Birmingham, will Stephen T continue in division 3 where he left off in division 4? Or will Stephen H put behind him the nightmare season and show the division 3 boys he should be back in the 2nd? Prediction: 2-1 Division 2 game: Cardiff -Aldershot Both teams were relegated to division 4 last season ,Aldershot you saw it coming but Cardiff! With that squad! No wonder rumours of match fixing have been circling manager Closey and his squad. Cardiff are definite favourites for the division but will they hit it off right away or will they flounder like they did for most of last season? Aldershot are under new management and the man at the helm Racky is a successful manager can he get Aldershot back to the lofty heights of the 3rd division or will they struggle in and stay in the 4th where many think they belong? Prediction: 2-1

  6. Re: English Championship 7046 Match Report/Tranfer Gossip Thread SANTOS FRED JOINS IN £5M DEAL ! THE OX JOINS BACK ON LOAN, ZOUMA AND NEUSTADTER JOIN ASWELL FOR THE NEW CHALLENGE ! Earlier this week Tranmere Rovers agreed a deal with Northampton for 19 year old Brazilian Santos Fred, it was a deal what shocked everybody, nobody though that Fred would join another Division 3 club, £5M was a lot for a side out of the main leagues but Tranmere come up with the cash before any other suitors did. Loans Last season new manager Ben-SCFC took Alex Oxlade Chamberlain on loan from Ben Newman's spurs, in Chamberlains time at Tranmere he got 9 goals and 13 assists out of 30 starts for the Division 4 side who won the league, Oxlade wanted come back this season for life in Division 3 and the manager of Spurs let him get what he wished for. Rovers were allowed two other loans for the season and the positions Tranmere could of done with was a Centre back and a central midfielder, not long after Tranmere went in for Kurt Zouma from Carlisle and Roman Neustadter from Middlesbrough, thankfully the managers accepted the loan offers for them, they will join Ox here with us until the end of the season. Oxlade Chamberlain (above) ready to return to prenton park!

The Brazilian chose Porto over a few other clubs as he claimed that the club clearly have ambitions that match his. Porto have their sights set on the title this year and whilst nobody outside the club is currently giving them a chance, it was clear to him that insider DO believe With the signings of Alexis Sanchez and Robert Lewandowski already completed, the manager had said that all the team needed now was a link between the backline and the more attacking players and Marcelo will certainly provide that. His love of attacking from full back is well documented and clear to see and his defensive side to his game is improving season by season. With this man widely regarded as one of the best full backs in the game today, Porto have certainly made their intentions clear this year. They are aiming for the top. --------------------------------------------------------- Well thats sums up my signings, quite happy with them all. Now gonna set my sights on a few Ukrainians First eleven atm is looking good though

It didn't look like this would be the case at half time though as the visitors went in a goal to the good after some good work by Hermann lead to Itturaspe giving Blackpool the lead. 24. Well, having just returned to SM after a year away from it last month I've been getting back into the swing of things. After some fun buying risers from the last few changes I feel like having another go at some predictions. The last thread I did was when the SPL was last done in 2011. I also predicted the Bulgarian changes last April 2011 and with the league surely being due for another review in the near future I thought I'd give it another go. All predictions are based solely on stats upto 12.11.12. I don't claim to be an SM expert, so please do double check these predictions to form your own conclusions, just think of these as a guide to who may be worth you looking into further. My predictions are what I consider to be pessimistic, to allow for the harsh ratings SM often serves up. Levski Vladimir Gadzhev - 83 >>> 84/83 Silva Cristovao - 81 >>> 83/82 Basile De Carvalho > 80 >>> 83/82 - Hopefully being 31 years old won't hinder his rise, 9 goals in 11 games to date Roman Prochazka - 79 >>> 82/81 *Plamen Iliev - 78 >>> 83/84* Simeon Raykov - 78 >>> 80/79 Aleksandar Bashliev >>> 76 - 77/78 Antoni Vutov - 75 78 No rise at the moment, but only 16 years old with 14 minutes off the bench, one to keep an eye on perhaps (edit-it turns out he got a rise). Ludogorets Razgrad (11/12 Double Winners) Alexandre Barthe - 83 >>> 84/83 Junior Caicara - 83 >>> 84/83 Svetoslav Dyakov - 82 >>> 84/83 *Ivan Cvorovic - 80 >>> 83* Miroslav Ivanov - 80 >>> 82 Dimo Bakalov - 77 >>> 78/79 *Nascimento Marcelinho - 76 >>> 80/78* *Joao Choco - 71 >>> 80/78/80+* - Only 30 minutes this season which is not good at all, but my opinion is that his 2,224 minutes last season when they won the title should still justify this rise. Only 10k, so worth the risk I'd say. Botev Plovdiv (Newly Promoted) Difficult to predict, with quite a few players apparantely not on the DB Ernestas Setkus >>> 80 - 82 *Todor Nedelev >>> 75 - 78/80/79* CSKA Sofia Apostol Popov - 80 >>> 82 *Sasha - 77 >>> 80/81* Njongo Priso - 77 >>> 80/79 *Anicet Andrianantenaina - 76 >>> 80/78/79* *Plamen Krachunov - 76 >>> 80* *Anton Karachanakov - 75 >>> 78/79* Chernomorets Todor Palankov - 80 >>> 82 Georgi Terziev - 78 >>> 81/82 Issouf Ouattara - 77 >>> 80/79 Venelin Filipov - 76 >>> 79 *Jeremy Faug-Porret >>> 76 - 80/78/79* *Ventsislav Hristov >>> 75 - 78* Borislav Baldzhiyski >>> 75 - 78/77 Gael N'Lundulu - 75 >>> 77/78 Litex *Georgi Milanov - 80 >>> 84/83* 84 Strahil Popov - 78 >>> 81/80 Aleksander Tsvetkov >>> 78 - 80/81 Armando Vajushi - 77 >>> 79/80 *Ilya Milanov - 76 >>> 80* *Nikola Kolev - 73 >>> 75/76* - 17 years old PFC Pirin (Newly Promoted) Atanas Fidanin - 79 >>> 81/80 Atanas Drenovichki - 77 >>> 80/79 Veselin Marchev - 76 >>> 79/80 - Currently listed at Cherno More *Dimitar Pirgov - 75 >>> 78/80* Lokomotiv Plovdiv Stefano Kunchev >>> 78 - 80 - On loan from Slavia Sofia Valerio Georgiev >>> 78 - 80 *Ferares Diego >>> 76 - 80/79/78* - Currently listed at Litex *Rangel Abushev >>> 75 - 78/80* 78 Credit to Badin19 *Stelios Demetriou >>> 73 - 75/76* Slavia Sofia Daniel Zlatkov - 78 >>> 80 Currently listed at Minyor Beroe Kiril Akalski - 77 >>> 79/80 Pedro Eugenio - 77 >>> 79/80 *Vladimir Zafirov >>> 74 - 78/80* Cherno More *Rosen Kolev - 75 >>> 79/78* Ilian Kapitanov - 75 >>> 77 Martin Dechev - 74 >>> 77/78 *Georgi Kitanov - 74 >>> 78/80* - Only 17 years old *Atanas Iliev - 72 >>> 75* - Only if SM decide to rise him to the minimum of 75, only 72 minutes over two seasons Lokomotiv Sofia None of note. Official Liverpool Thread

Re: Official Liverpool Thread We'll see won't we. I'm sure if Sturridge struggles to score (and more importantly we struggle to win) then Rodgers will go back to how it was. I don't necessarily think Suarez's role will change that much, but we'll now have a player leading the line, as well as Suarez doing what he does, which is something we've needed. Suarez has been at his best in the past when playing alongside strikers. Think it was Huntelaar at Ajax and Forlan for Uruguay. He was one of the best players in world football when playing alongside the latter, as during this time Messi wasn't producing at international level. I think some people are just expecting Sturridge to fail, and lining up their i told you so statements, which there seems to be a lot of in these forums.

And regardless, shouldn't the focus be on the last couple of seasons as these will be a much bigger indication of what will come in future seasons than the last 15 or even 5 years. NB. Utaka makes the move from French club Montpellier but is no stranger to English shores having spent time on the South Coast with Portsmouth way back in season 1 before spending a couple of seasons in the Midlands with Walsall. 49. Re: The Fluffy Ligue 1 Thread Unless PSG signs Wesley Sneijder (wich I really doubt) he'll push Pastore out of the team without a sweat. I've ranted about Pastore several times ... he's not good ... not even worthy of an 89 rating. Lucas will have no troubles in getting straight into the starting XI ... and I reckon he could do quite a good job. In the right situation' date=' with the right PSG team ... right amount of time and titles ... I can see him at a 92 rating by the end of next season.[/center'] Perrin is doing quite good ... ASSE not so much truth be told. After starting off the season on FIRE they've dropped down to 10th ... and with rumours flying around that Aubameyang is set to leave in January ... nothing will keep them in a top 10 spot even. IF they muster up some quality ... IF they can keep Aubameyang and IF they can start winning again and move up to top 8ish ... THEN we cen talk about a potential rise for Perrin ... but not before that happens. Koné started 20 games last season ... so far he has started 17 this season. He is the natural choice beside team captain Ecuele Manga ... but since Manga has been injured since the first game this season ... Koné has had to be the lead defender for a VERY VERY good Lorient side ! I've always known that Lorient have been a fantastic club ... they had a very bad season last year when they finished 17th just above relegation ... but hey ... if you lose your best attacker and best midfielder together with the backup striker (Gameiro' date='Amalfitano & Kitambala) You're not destined for great things ! They've since re-built and Alain Traore have been leading the charge ... Kone is the starting CB (in the abscence of Ecuele Manga) for the 5th placed team in Ligue 1 ... anything but a +2 in the next review is an outrage. Potentialwise ... 89 [/center'] Capoue hands down ... best defensive mid in France ... i rate him as an equal if not higher then Yann M'vila. I've heard that too ... any team that buys Isimat Mirin is buying pure gold ! He'll hit it bigtime ... in the right team I can see a 92/93 rating on him. If both him AND Rennes continue like they have ... he's set for a +1 atleast. Nery is quite good ... 87 potential this season if Valenciennes keep their current place. Valenciennes has really succeeded in getting a very good defense together this season ! Bahebeck hasn't set the world on fire at Troyes ... Only the 1 goal but he's getting LOADS of playing experience and that's absolutely vital for him. I reckon that he'll "blossom" by next season (I expect him to be sent on loan once again)

  50. Re: Bundesliga Ratings 2012/2013 Some of you might know that I have been doing sometimes a bigger rating analysis in the past in which I compared the top leagues and the teams before and especially after the rating changes have happened. It often showed which teams were underrated and which were overrated in relation to other teams. However in the current changes I haven't done this as I neither had the time nor the desire. But due to some recent events, I decided to make a small comparison. The events I'm talking about are SM being quite kind to Juventus in the rating changes People asking in here if Dortmund players still will rise Before people now start arguing with me, saying that all the rises for Juventus have been fully deserved, I want to explain myself. For sure they might have been deserved - I don't watch the Italian league at all, so I can hardly argue against this. But I still think that SM have been pretty generous towards them and I want to prove that with facts by comparing them with Borussia Dortmund. Nevertheless I would also like to point out, that I'm explicitly not complaining about the Juventus ratings. It would be insane to complain about them now with Dortmund haven't been re-rated so far. I rather want to show what we need to expect from SM if they want to keep their ratings as fair as possible. First of all, I would like to compare the achievements of both teams in the recent past: This season Juventus is leading in the league quite sovereign. Last season they also became champion. And in 10/11 Juventus finished 7th. So you can say that they are dominating their league currently. Dortmund currently is 3rd in the league, what seems to be a bit disappointing after they have managed to become champion in 11/12 and in 10/11. In the domestic cup both Juventus and Dortmund reached the quarter finals this season so far. Last season both reached the final, where Dortmund won impressively against Bayern and Juventus lost against Napoli. In 10/11 Dortmund lost in the 2nd round already and Juventus reached the quarter final. Viewing the international cups, both teams have managed to survive in rather difficult CL groups this season and therefore both reached the round of the last 16. Last season Dortmund were eliminated in the group stage of the CL whilst Juventus haven't even played internationally. In 10/11 both have played in the EL but both were eliminated in the group stage already. So in conclusion I would say that there isn't much between both teams. Juventus is currently doing a bit better in the league but Dortmund won also the cup last season and played internationally. Using the argument that the Bundesliga seems to be a stronger league in the past (at least the UEFA country ranking shows this), it could be argued that Dortmund has achieved a bit more in the recent past. So it's time to include the SM ratings. The data I used is copied from SoccerWiki. I only have excluded Lucio (90) who still is in the Juventus squad on SoccerWiki though having moved to Brazil already. If we view the average rating of the whole squad of both teams we recognize the following: The whole Dortmund squad is rated almost 2 points lower than the whole Juventus squad. For sure we have to consider 2 things. Average ratings of whole squads may be falsified as in some squads there are lots of young players who mainly play in the second team and therefore minimize the average rating due to their low ratings. However here we have a similar number of players (27 Dortmund players and 30 Juventus players). Another thing to consider is that (as said before) Juventus already have been re-rated. But to adjust this huge gap fairly (as Dortmund has been at least equally in terms of performances) it would be necessary that every Dortmund player will rise by (almost) 2. Quite ridiculous to imagine. Due to the first point above it might be better to compare the average ratings of the top players only. So let's take the 11 best players of each team. Well, that hasn't changed much, has it? Still even by the top players there's a gap of almost 2 rating points. To phrase it in different words: In order to make the difference between Juventus and Dortmund fair it would be necessary that Hummels, Subotic, Götze, Weidenfeller, Schmelzer, Piszczek, Bender, Reus, Lewandowski and Blaszczykowski will have to rise by +2 all (10 players = +20 ===> 20/11 = +1.81 on average rating of the top XI). Some might even get this but definitely not all. I think I already made clear, why I think that SM had been quite generous towards Juventus. However I have a final figure that conclusively shows that Juventus currently is rated far better than Dortmund. The graph shows the number of players rated 94, 93, ..., 89, 88 of both teams. After Pirlo rose to 94, Juventus has now 3 players with that rating whilst Dortmund has no player rated higher than 92. Has still anyone the opinion that Hummels might not rise to 93? Even if we would exclude the 3 94-rated players of Juventus, it seems that Juventus has more higher rated players. The only rating for which Dortmund has more players is the 90 rating. Quite insane if we compare both teams, isn't it? Especially considering that both have done more or less equal in the past. And also considering that none of the players have been bought with a high rating (e.g. how it would be at PSG). No, currently SM rates Juventus far better than Dortmund and I doubt that this will change much enough with the German ratings. However I will be pleasantly surprised if it would happen. I hope you enjoyed this write-up.
