  1. Re: Liga BBVA Ratings Predictions thread Benzema should stay atm' date=' he had a pretty good World Cup but going to 95 means you are an excellent player, where the likes of Neuer, Schweini, Robben, RvP, Lahm, Xavi, Fabregas, Yaya Toure are at, and I think Benzema is not quite at their level If Mandzukic can have a good season he will rise to 93 I think he is just as good/ or even better! than Diego Costa.. James Rodriguez certainly deserves a rise to 92, and I think that if he starts well at Real Madrid he will rise again to 93 and he certainly has the ability to! If Pepe can solidly defend well this season he might be able to rise to 93, not now imo [/font']

  3. Re: The Politics Thread Totally agreed with you. Thats why people "cry" and "cry" when they watch things on TV and talk nonsense. This conflict didn´t began days or weeks ago, this traces back to the WWI era! There is religious, politics, diplomacy, interests involved. People really needs to read rather than watch tv. With this i am not taking a side, i am just saying warfare is not as obvious as people try to do.

Re: .:10000 bc:. Recap of the last turn of the season Div 1 Celtic are Division 1 Champions! The team lost to Manchester United 0-2 with Sanchez and Rolfes goals but in another city, Valencia dramatically drew with PSG 2-2 in a match where if the referee hadn't disallowed the winning goal in the 87th minute we would have a different champion. The Other End Meanwhile, at the bottom of the table PSV had 19 points, Basel and Chelsea had 22 and it was anyones game to survive in Division 1. With Chelsea losing to PSV 1-0 it was heartbreak as the team was relegated after a Sidney Sam goal. That wasnt all! Basel managed to pull off a hard away win over Schalke 2-3 which meant it was heartbreak for PSV, but the joy in Switzerland was great as the team managed to stay up in the most elite division. Rakitic, Cabaye, Gomis scored for the Swiss team Player Awards Both end of season awards went to my Manchester United player, Radamel Falcao who scored 14 goals in 19 games letting him win the Golden Boot, and he also won Player of the Season also having 8 assists and 5 MOTM awards.

    The Politics Thread

Re: The Politics Thread Just reading the last few pages I think a couple of posters are just way too naive even borderline stupid. How can someone applaud Israelis for killing innocent Palestinians is just beyond me. Think a lot of people just confuse things, just get a perspective duh bashing Israel is not equivalent to bashing Jews at all. Heck, even a lot of Jews are against what Israel's been doing. There's nothing wrong with Judaism or Islam or Christianity, all basically teach the same thing which is the message of peace, its the scum who use these religions to their own facility and the naive people with those stupid stereotypes that jump on the ship way too quickly that ruin it for everyone else. Again, how can someone advocate the merciless killing of Palestinians just because they're Muslims is beyond me, more so when so many of them don't even have a connection with hamas and many of those killed are infants who don't even know the meaning of hamas israel or palestine. I don't know if hamas is a terrorist organisation or not , it's just not an excuse enough to kill those hundreds of innocent Palestinians. Likewise anyone killing a Jew just because of their origin is an equally despicable act. This.

  6. The Story so far After the relative success of the cult classic 'Rags To Riches - The Rise to Prominence' I thought a sequel was in order despite the original still not having a definitive winner just yet. I wanted to make this one even more difficult to the original and came up with the following. The Concept Is a simple one, it will consist of 5 Division's. The idea will be to manage 20 of the worst clubs from around the globe. Teams will be on a similar level regarding Squad value, rating and stadium capacity. The worst 20 teams will be managed and the remaining teams will be unmanaged. Thus making 5 Divisions of 20 teams. Starting with original squads and a transfer budget of £20 million the aim is simple, to take your team from the lower leagues to Division 1, a difficult task in itself. However to be named the "Ultimate Manager" you will need to complete the following: ~ Win Division 1 ~ Win the Domestic Cup* ~ Win the Domestic Shield* * Please note that until the set up is created I am not entirely sure if there will be two domestic cups, however the likelihood is there will be if there are 20 clubs per league. In the unlikely event that a manager wins one of the Domestic Cups outside of Division 1, this does count towards your trophy tally. It is extremely important that you only spend 5 million (plus sales) out of your budget every season for the first four seasons, and do not abuse this so the transfer ruling is as follows: ~ Season 1 - Spend anything you have over 15m + sales (You start with 20m so that gives you 5m for the season). ~ Season 2 - Spend anything you have above 10m + sales. ~ Season 3 - Can spend anything you have above 5m + sales. ~ Season 4 onwards can spend whatever funds you have. Now what makes this different to the original concept apart from what has been outlined already will be the twist in the transfer rules. In the original concept you were allowed to buy players from unmanaged clubs, this time round you will only be able to buy players from unmanaged clubs once every two seasons, with no buying from unmanaged clubs applied to season 1. The emphasis here is to use your scouting skills (or others off the forums) to initially build your squad. So it will be as follows: ~ Season 1 - No buying from unmanaged clubs. ~ Season 2 - Buying from unmanaged clubs. ~ Season 3 - No buying from unmanaged clubs. ~ Season 4 - Buying from unmanaged clubs. ~ Season 5 onwards - To be confirmed. I decided on going down the route of clubs from around the world, this will make the set up even more challenging than the original as the club's will be far stronger in the 4 unmanaged divisions than just British clubs. For those of you who would like to familiarise yourselves with the original idea click here. This time around all managers will start in division 5, the amount of clubs managed will be 20, with clubs of similar rating and stadium size, please note that many clubs do not have the required 21 players, with many only having one player so no transfers will be allowed until after your chairman brings in the required amount of players, (before the first friendly.) I appreciate that players are chosen at random and as a consequence it could significantly increase squad values, however it is a risk I am willing to take. I envisage most chairman's bringing in 10K players with the odd exception so I am making you all aware of this from the onset. Also where you had clubs like my beloved Newcastle to contend with in division 1 clubs of this standard will be in division 2, so immediately this will be much tougher than facing the likes of Middlesbrough for example, with clubs such as Sunderland, Boca Juniors and FC Twente to name but a few in Division 4 you can see how much more difficult this set up will be. So there we have it, I am hoping that if you like a real challenge where being a great manager is not enough but a great tactician, strategist and scout as well as being able to run a club on a financial shoe string will be of great importance, with a definitive goal which is to be the best then this set up will appeal to you. There can only be one winner, do you think you have what it takes to be crowned the best? For those of you who need to add me in game click here STANDARD GAME WORLD RULES ECONOMY LEVEL: Normal. The Politics Thread

Re: The Politics Thread You've generalised massively there. I, like Spam, feel so disassociated with what's going on in Gaza that the news is all blending into one. I feel like whatever I think or do, both sides will continue to blow each other up and that will never change. Obviously, the death count is horrible, as is the fear that the area instills but it isn't my problem and I really hope the UK doesn't make it its problem. You only have to look at Iraq to see that intervention doesn't necessarily make things better. Sure, Saddam was a bit of a despot but he was a whole lot better than ISIS. They've just ordered 4 million girls to undergo FGM for no apparent reason. So many zones in that area of the world are so backwards they're like another species. So yeah, I don't particularly care which group is killing the other group today as tomorrow I know the news will be reporting the retaliation and this the cycle starts over. I'll concern myself with world affairs that actually concern me, rather than feeling some faux moral obligation to care.

  11. Re: TCO92 - Match Previews/Reports, Transfer News & General Nonsense. Yeah Benjo, must say this setup looks real good right now haha. With the second transfer window coming it is going to great and a lot of competition for a lot of players. That said I will try and ask a few people if they want to take over since there are a few unmanaged clubs. CANNOT WAIT FOR AUGUST 12th haha.

  16. Re: The New Players Thread I'd take a long look at Francisco RODRIGUEZ, 18 year old out of FC Basel. 90 minutes in the first two games of the season, quick winger with great passing skills. Takes set pieces for the team already. Youth international for the Swiss, also happens to be the younger brother of Ricardo Rodriguez.

Re: The Politics Thread So, judging from your logic, the "First Nations/Aboriginals/etc." should own the Americas + what is now Oceania because they were in these lands way before the bloody Europeans, were first called "First Nations/Aboriginals/etc." after the Europeans came (I believe), and that they ruled it after "conquering" the land a long time ago and have maintained continuous presences in these regions for millennia?

    The Politics Thread

Re: The Politics Thread Because Palestine is under occupation? Ergo Palestinians may achieve their rights (or not) through political, diplomatic or military means. In regards to any 'deal' anything short of full sovereignty is not enough while Hamas is involved. Under international law the 'bombarding' of Israel falls into a shady area re legit warfare. E: In no way defending Hamas here (although I realise how my post looks - merely pointing out that they have a right to resist through violent means, would be nice is it stopped short of terrorism): no-one can legitimize tunneling into Israel to kidnap/torture Israelis, deliver suicide bombers to cafes and bus stops or bombarding civilian populations with rockets. Also impossible to do the same for Israel's seemingly indiscriminate slaughter of Palestinians.

  33. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread d3 Three games to go...and nothing in it at the top of div 3, Ipswich, the leaders, seem to have an easiest run-in - facing up against a succession of lower-table, miserable, under-performing, wretched, open to bribery, "linked-with-Asian-betting syndicate" sides. The bog-dwelling savages are also on a run of 4 straight wins - so it would take a major downturn in form for Manager Secasiu's team not to clinch an automatic pomotion slot and perhaps the title. Look out for "unusual betting patterns" Northampton sit second and have the hardest run in - facing 5th place Rotherham and 3rd place Man City in successive matches. The Cobblers led the table for most of the season but have faltered badly in recent weeks. A combination of cruel injuries, scandalous refereeing decisions, incredible bad luck and Acts of God are behind the slump - with absolutely no blame being attached to their talented and surprisingly good-looking manager, the truly excellent Butcher of Montevideo. One last gritty push is required from the men in maroon - and look out for a Churchillian response from "the gaffer" who simply does not know when he is beaten (until someone tells him) Man City (hiss, boo) sit third - a point behind plucky Northampton. City are the division's top scorers and are a walking advertisement for the need for Financial Fair Play to be implemented as soon as possible. A line up which includes Ronaldo, Messi, Thomas Muller and Angel di Maria would normally be expected to p*ss a division like this one - yet young English manager Steve Thompson has contrived to make heavy weather of it - and makes a compelling case for why clubs should buy-in foreign managers - with little command of the language but possessing a fit girlfriend. One feels that the Man City v Cobblers fixture might decide one of the promotion slots next week. First though, the Arab billionaire's overpaid playthings face a trip to Yeovil - newly crowned FA Cup winners. Can Thompson hold his nerve? Let's hope not. Norwich sit 4th on 62 points. I know very little about the team from Carrow Road - other than I hate them and hope they burn in hell spending an eternity suffering from crabs and continuously listening to Eurovision Song Contest entries. Ruts has come with a strong late challenge but has still to face Birmingham and Rotherham in his final two matches. That's if the Canaries get past Rochdale tonight in what looks to be a nailed-on home banker. Surely Ruts can't cock it up from such a commanding position? Or can he? Rotherham lie 5th - and could play a major part in deciding who goes up (including themselves). Stewart Lauder's team are 7 points off the lead - so need a minor miracle to have a tilt at the title. Still, let's not forget that only 2,000 years ago a young Israeli international, J.Christ, managed to turn a loaf of Hovis and a can of tuna into a three course meal for 5,000 - so anything is possible. No one outside the teams mentioned above is important or has anything remotely interesting about them.

Re: The Politics Thread You're being very pernickety Longnose. I've clarified that whilst I side with no one, and that both sides have done wrong, the sheer number of Palestinian civilians dying is a major concern. And one that the Israelis seem to be showing no remorse or hesitation over. Also, I don't see how Israelis siting on a hilltop enjoying a bombardment of a trapped nation/area/people is justifiable? From a humanitarian POV that's just sick. War isn't something to be enjoyed.
