    ||The Parasite|| - Discussion Thread

    Re: ||The Parasite|| - Discussion Thread The Mortals Turn 2 Review RSC Anderlecht 0 - 1 Olympiacos Olympiacos were a confident side going into the game after their brilliant display in the first turn and it showed in their game. They were dominating proceedings early on especially in the midfield where Arteta seemed to be looking for cover. But after the early half an hour Anderlecht seemed to have found their footing and clawed their way back into the game. Now it were they who looked like winning but manager GDR010's 75th minute triple substitution turned the game on its head and Olympiacos snatched a late winner through Emenike Feyenoord 1 - 1 Bremen Feyenoord had their first 11 on the field unlike their first game and it seemd to have done the trick when they took the lead in the sixth minute through playmaker Aaron Ramsey but their lead didn't last long with the Bremen playmaker Pjanic scoring to even things up at the half hour point. Feyenoord enjoyed most of the possession but couldn't manage a winner and the game ended in a stalemate. PSV Eindhoven 1 - 0 Queens Park Rangers The battle of the bottom two sides did provide a lot of thrill but not many goals. PSV were clearly out to prove a point after losing to Bremen last turn undeservedly. QPR defence just wasn't able to deal with the PSV frontmen. Pato opened the scoring in the 40th minute and would have gone on to score a lot more had it not been for Julio Cesar. The experienced GK showed why he is still regarded as one of the best in the business with a display that certainsly saved QPR from an embarrassing scoreline. Freiburg 2 - 0 Toulouse Two of the favourites before the season started went head to head and Freiburg silenced any doubters that had surfaced after their lacklustre first turn display by racing into a 2-0 lead within 13 minutes. Freiburg never let them come back into the game with determined defending and superb possession play. A clinical display indeed. Celta Vigo 7 - 7 Cardiff City I'm not sure what game the players were playing.. Tennis maybe?? In any case the two teams provided us a game that will go down in the history of this league as one of the best. Neither team was interested in going down easily and a lot of determined running and crisp passing led to a scoreline like that. Got to feel for the defenders and the goalkeepers as most of them didn't exactly have a good game but weren't too bad either it was just a case of attacking football at its best. I'm not listing the scorers there are too many of them

    Selling Ronaldo....?

    Hi guys, After some opinions on this deal.... selling Cristiano Ronaldo for Hummels + Neymar + £20m... I would still have Iniesta, Ribery, Mata, Oscar as my wingers... and Neymar I think will go up in rating again soon. However I've also got Pique and Busquets, so Hummels wouldn't be my first choice CB, unless I moved Busquets to midfield... my next best CB is Varane though, so not quite as much of a high rating at the moment. Would you say that's a good deal for me? Or is Ronaldo just too good to sell? Thanks

    Official Liverpool Thread

    Re: Official Liverpool Thread You didn't miss much, played alright in the first half and were probably marginally the better side, Olympiakos were the better team in the second but it was fragmented due to all the changes. Not a great game to watch in all honesty, although conditions were pretty difficult and the wind was causing havoc. No real stand outs, Sterling and Skrtel were probably our best players, Henderson in his first game back played the full 90 and still full of running, like the Duracell Bunny that Kid! Never take any note of these games really purely a fitness exercise to get the players up to speed and it was a good workout whilst allowing many of the returning players to get a good 60 minute workout in most cases. Only other thing of note was a misplaced shot by Markovic which hit a poor unsuspecting steward and sent him tumbling, mildly amusing.

    Official World Cup 2014 Thread

    Re: Official World Cup 2014 Thread Der Kommandeurs overall assesment: Hello my beautiful comrades. It has been an eventful year for football! We have won the world cup, the Deutsch sides reign rule over european football, and to top it off, we have the best youth academies in the world! Deutschland i must say were excellent! Man of tournament was Mats 'Der Hummeler' Hummels, also Toni 'midfield general' Kroos, who controlled every match with ease, and Muller, who Mulllered inferior opposition with ease. Overall these 3 ruled the World cup overall! It is excellent, tha tthe 2 greatest world cups of all time - Italia 90 and Brasilia 14 end with Deutschland reigning rule over world football! This is now Deutschlands golden period, we have the best CB, CM und CF in die welt - Hummels, Kroos and Muller! Overall, the correlation that we in Deutschland, observe, is that whenever BvB have a golden period in their history, Deutschland seems to prevail also i.e 1990, 1996, 2002 and now 2014!! We must now look onwards for Euro 2016, and win the WC 2018 in our arch rival back yard in Moskva haha!!! Major credit also belongs to Jurgen 'Heil Kloppo' Klopp, Tuchel, Keller, Robin Dutt, the legendary Jupp Heynckes and many other Bundesliga managers, who persevere with young talents as the main backbone for their sides - Only in Der Bundesliga, the best (high quality played) league in die welt, is the possible and even attainable! All throughout this world cup, i felt Deutschland would fall at the final to Espana, as they always have defeated us, when we get close to glory, so we must also thank Chile and our friends the Nederlands (haha) for taking Espana out!!!! May our rule over world football continue, thanks to our powerhouse clubs Bayern Munchen, Borussia Dortmund and Schalke was this possible!! Heil Deutschland, WELTMEISTER COMRADES!!!!

    Portuguese Under-19 players

    Re: Portuguese Under-19 players Portugal EURO U-19: Group Stage Portugal came to the Hungarian Euro after 6 wins in the qualifier and a huge amount of goals scored. By now Portugal already was one of the favorites to win the competition and after the group stage, the hype has only grown. Like I said before this is the team that you should know better, most of the players that were called have already been presented here before. But on another hand, a lot of them were a surprise even for me. • Portugal 3 – 0 Israel 19/07/2014 Portugal entered the game with lots of intensity, always recovering the ball very fast to then make fast transitions. It was enjoyable to watch this well organized Portuguese squad that was in control of every moments of the game. The "Luso" players looked a lot more experienced than the Israelites, always a lot more relaxed, smarter, and with an overall better understanding of the game. After creating some opportunities, Marco Lopes scored the first goal of the tournament, somehow a lucky goal but a goal that was fair for what the team had done since the first minute of the game. In the second half, Portugal slowed his game, the pressure lacked of discipline and Guzzo started to show signs of fatigue which allowed the opponent to that advantage of the midfield to create opportunities, most of them started by Michael Ohana. Anyway, André Silva managed to score a goal that gave Portugal the relief they needed. After that and until the end of the match, Portugal did whatever they wanted and showed skills and quality, only thing worth mentioning is the incredible goal scored by Manchester City's player Rony. nhHpb5KgAEI • Hungary 1 – 6 Portugal 22/07/2014 This game was in my opinion, not as easy as a 6-1 may look. This Hungarian team is better than the Israelite, better organization, better filling vital spaces of the pitch and overall better players. On top of that, there was a lot of rain, some spaces made the ball stop and I was expecting some of the players to have an hard time with these types of conditions. Marcos Lopes for example was not able to play as he wants to, he couldn't dribble, couldn't drive with the ball for too long and got frustrated because of all this. Portugal capitalized on 2 big mistakes made by the home team, this is another example of how mature this Portuguese players already are. After that, it was André Silva's show, scoring 4 goals and showing a ton of skills that even got me surprised and I am one of his hardcore fans since day 1. lp3djZRiMKk • Austria 1 – 2 Portugal 25/07/2014 This would be the hardest opponent Portugal had to face since the beginning of the competition, both teams were qualified for semi-finals already but wanted to escape the match-up against Germany. Portugal made a lot of substitutions and Hélio Sousa, the coach, gave opportunity to all of the players that were called, to play at least one game during this Euro. Portugal took control of the game but Austria always tried to their physical advantage in place in order to make the difference. Tomás, the team captain and one of the best of the team during the group stage, scored the first goal with a great header, ironic how the little guy scored between the Austrian giants. The start of the second half was as bad as it could be, Austria got the goal to draw the game and Portugal was simply asleep. As the minutes progressed Portugal looked a lot better, just like at the start of the game. The team took advantage of the need that Austria had to score, in order to finish 1st of the group, and made the 2-1 by Romário that replaced Nuno Santos who got injured during the competition. I really liked this 3 games by Portugal U-19, collectively I saw a lot of quality, a lot of intensity and a real team unlike the previously talented U-20. Individually there is a lot of talent and potential, next I will talk about some players that did the best during this group stage. HVkLb1YRGbg Top Performers: André Silva Necessarily I had to talk about this young man, an outstanding performance during the all 3 games that André played. In the last 5 games André Silva scored 9 goals, those are amazing numbers but I would say that the best part of his performance are the skills he is displaying. The first time I saw André playing was when he was only 17 years old, playing as a winger, I saw potential in him, I saw and hard-worker and the ability to make the difference with his speed, intensity and strength. But I always had my reserves, he did not show lots of technical skills, he did a lot of bad decisions, and was not a spontaneous shooter. Now I am happy that I was right about his potential and talent but I am also very happy that I was wrong on so many other things. First of all, André Silva is now a striker, a mobile one but also a good one. I can handle the ball with his back turned to the goal, he is a good passer and knows when and where to deliver the ball and he also shows great positioning. I also like how André Silva tunes with the wingers and then there is his intensity, acceleration, speed, strength, aerial play, and shooting skills that make him a superior athlete. All in all, excited to see him for the rest of the Euro but even more excited to see him playing for Porto B during the all year. Tomás Podstawski Another Porto player and this one is the captain of the team. Tomás showed during the year that he could be a starter for this Portugal U-19 and also Porto B. He is not an ultra-defensive midfielder but Tomás is more like a nº6 that can be very effective defensively and also be the player to initiate the offensive transition. Tomás has been one of the main pieces of the team. Portugal uses very offensive wing-backs, for this reason it’s very important for the defensive midfielder, Tomás in this case, to be ready to compensate these movements. I would maybe call him the "equilibrium" of this team, the player that recovers the ball, makes the first decisions, helps his teammates when they commit errors but he also has good technical skills and is also a great passer. He is the buoys of the team, a big safety that this team has. Gelson Martins The newest student of the "school of wingers" that Portugal and also Sporting have. Just like many other wingers that Portugal have seen lately, Gelson is a "king" of the 1 vs 1 situations. Gelson has an endless bag of tricks and dribbles to surpass every problem and difficulty defenders may cause. Again, his relation with the ball is really impressive, but I would be a bit reluctant about the other phases of the game, and of course his intensity without the ball and defensive presence. He also makes too many mistakes on his decision making, holds to the ball too much and then passes when it is too late. I think he does have potential and the talent is undeniable although he will need a rigid coach that can make him work hard and to be smarter, but he will need the experience to develop. I would like to see him in the second division next year with Sporting and I also want more goals like the one he scored against Austria. Gelson is a class player and one to keep our eyes on. Marcos Lopes The player that most of you have heard about from all the Portuguese players, the Manchester City kid that will bring his hype to the French team Lille. Rony have been showing why he earned so much respect in the English colossus, he is simply a step above all the other players. He may have just played 1 game, the first, at a top level but he simply shows that he is different. Marcos has a lot more experience and understands the game a lot better and a lot faster. He plays as an offensive midfielder and he always keep his teammates active and puts them in situations that allow them to be successful. Marcos Lopes is also an underrated passer and a very important player in offensive fast transitions using his speed and acceleration as well as his dribbling skills. I am looking forward to see if Lille's coach will believe in him as I do, because if he does, he will give him the starting spot right away.

    Official French Ligue 1 & 2 Thread

    Re: French Ligue 1 and 2 He is a decent player who is quite good at crossing. Looking at his age he should be pushing for a NT spot and possibly a top club (I wouldn't consider Lille as a top club, but it is a step up from Sochaux). At the moment Debuchy is nailed for the RB spot for France, but Corchia could challenge Sagna as the back-up for the Euros in their home country. This season will be crucial for him to impress and a test for him in the CL/EL. Perhaps a +1 at the end of the season. Sidibe is the young back-up at Lille.

    Re: English Championship 106 - Discussion Thread Division One Summary League leaders Tottenham suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Coventry City, losing 4-1 at White Hart Lane. A double from Brazilian midfielder Ramires proved the difference between the two sides, with the scores tied at the quarter hour mark thanks to a goal apiece from Javi Martinez and Spurs captain John Terry. Thiago Alcantara's first goal of the season sealed the victory for the Sky Blues, bringing Spurs' four match winning run to an end. Tranmere Rovers reduced the gap to to the top to just a single point after a fiery 3-0 victory over Darlington. A double from Chicharito Hernandez added to Daniele De Rossi's first half goal, however tempers boiled over in the second half, with a meleé breaking out between the two sides after a foul by Chaker Alhadhur on Claudio Marchisio. Tranmere midfielder Sergio Busquets squared up to Darlington defender, resulting in the dismissal of both players. Marchisio left on a stretcher as Tranmere await the injury report. Southampton moved into the top three after a convincing 4-1 away win at Norwich. Edinson Cavani netted a hat-trick with Golden Boot frontrunner Lionel Messi taking his season tally to 12. Oscar had briefly leveled the scores for Norwich, whose miserable day was compounded by the dismissal of Marek Hamsik and injuries to Oscar and Benat. Crewe picked up their third win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford. Diego and Mario Suarez netted for Alex, as United drop out of the Champions League places. Preston bounced back from defeat to Liverpool with a 3-0 victory over Swindon at Deepdale. Ricky Lambert scored his first goal for the club on his league debut, with second half goals from Jordan Henderson and Kevin Mirallas securing victory. Liverpool won a third game in a row with a 4-0 rout of Watford at Vicarage Road. Yannick Ferreira Carrasco scored netted his first for the club, with David Silva netting a brace and David Villa making it four. Watford had Jan Durica sent off in the second half, as the Hornets drop to 19th. Blackburn Rovers dropped into the bottom three with a 2-0 defeat at home to Arsenal. Ashley Cole and Nicolai Boilesen netted for the Gunners, who move up into 13th place. Sunderland remain bottom after a 4-1 loss to Fulham at the Stadium of Light. Teo Gutierrez netted an impressive four goals to sink the Black Cats, who scored a late consolation through Cristian Ansaldi, and are now four points from safety. Reigning champions Sheffield Wednesday could only draw at home to Chelsea. Szabolcs Huszti gave Wednesday an early lead, only for Marco Reus to tie the game in the second half. Chelsea lost Julian Draxler to injury, and are set to be without the German playmaker for at least a month. Manchester City overcame the early dismissal of Lucho Gonzalez to draw 1-1 with Millwall. Radamel Falcao scored a bullet free-kick in the first half, however fellow Colombian Juan Cuadrado crossed in for Giuseppe Rossi to head in his 7th of the season.

    Re: ||The Parasite|| - Discussion Thread The Mortals Turn 3 Review Feyenoord 1 - 0 RSC Anderlecht Feyenoord came into the game with a draw and a loss in the previous 2 games and managed to add the third possible result in their record. A game that started really brightly with Ashley Young scoring in the 4th minute itself. Klose then had the ball in the back of the net in the 10th minute only to be ruled offside. But that was all that happened with the second half a pretty boring story. After the game Anderlecht manager asked for the linesman who adjudged Klose offside to be removed for next games. With AJB's history from the Armageddon league it can be understood why he feels hard done when the referees are playing fair... PSV Eindhoven 0 - 0 Olympiacos Absoutely boring game... So boring that the spectators were found protesting and demanding they get their money back. One of them was quoted as saying "We'll rather watch Twilight a thousand times than games like these". Celta Vigo 1 - 5 Bremen While the PSV Olympiacos game was a snoozefest Bremen made sure that their supporters aren't disappointed the same way. Celta Vigo were coming back from a 14 goal thriller and they looked visibly exhausted. The sale of striker Joaquin Larrivey who has been one of the key players also didn't help. Bremen took full advantage and they went 4-0 up in half an hour. Pjanic the best player on the pitch completed his hattrick with the team's fifth. Freiburg 0 - 1 Queens Park Rangers Another boring game with nothing much happening from both sides. They just kept knocking the ball form one side to another without any purpose. Only flashpoint of the game was Draxler's goal which he headed in from the edge of the penalty area which helped QPR pull off a big upset. Cardiff City 0 - 1 Toulouse Another low scoring game but this wasn't exactly boring. Atleast if you were a Toulouse fan. Toulouse never looked like losing and made an already exhausted Cardiff side(After their 14 goal thriller) run around for most parts of the game. Diego scored in the 56th minute to give Toulouse a deserved win.
