  1. 3-5-2 is an offensive formation: yes, it could be. So I want to report Juventus FC example: the two wide players his manager sends on the pitch for this formation are all fullbacks not wingers: Lichtsteiner D,DM,M(R ); Evra D,DM(L); Alex Sandro D,DM,M(L); Asamoah D(L),DM,M(LC); Cuadrado D,DM,M(R ),OM(RLC); Padoin D(RL),DM,M(RLC). So....

  2. if you play your players in their respectively position, they will not have any orange dots. You can't honestly expect an AM (RL) to play as M (RL) without being penalized. Do you see any real life clubs using attacking wingers as wing back? I said kuddos for SM for these new changes, and amateur managers who don't understand formation and players position must be harshly penalized until they learn how formation and tactics work in the real world. There are many serious problems worth offering feed backs, and yet many of you amateurs keep whining about changes that were necessary, and deserved. P.s. I have no problems playing 3-5-2 with my team. See for yourself, not a single orange dots.

  3. Well, since I can't find SuperNAG's thread, here this goes! I have a treat for all you lovely moochers out there. Guedes had a +3, which was measly. Should have been a +4 or even a +5. Neves has almost 400 minutes less than Guedes and he rose from 83 to 86 (should have been a +1, as he got the rise when he had less than 600 minutes of game time). Here are some risers, that I hope SW doesn't overlook (all deserve at least a +4): Douglas Dyanfres (on loan at Sanfrecce Hiroshima) - 78 -> 83 Fabinho Aguiar (Yokohama F Marinos) - 78 -> 83 Carlos Eduardo (Kashiwa Reysol) - 78 -> 83 Chao Li (S. Ever Bright) - 75 -> 80 Zhang Xiaobin (Jiangsu Santy) - 70 -> 76/77 Marcelo Toscano (América MG) - 78 -> 83 Fernando Zampedri (JU Gualeguaychú) - 76 -> 82/83 Amadou Diawara (Bologna) - 78 -> 83 Jaume Domenech (Valencia) - 80 -> 84/85 Eloge Yao (on loan at Crotone) - 75 -> 80 Dominic Solanke (on loan at Vitesse) - 76 -> 80/82 Andreas Christensen (on loan at B. Monchengladbach) - 78 -> 84/85 Carlos Salcedo (Guadalajara) - 78 -> 82/83 Nélson Monte (Rio Ave) - 78 -> 82 Cheick Keita (Virtus Entella) - 70 -> 75 M. Dahoud (B. Monchengladbach) - 78 -> 83/84 Pau López (Espanyol) - 80 -> 84 Robin Yalçin (Caykur Rizespor) - 78 -> 82 Then there's obviously Donnarumma, but predicting his rise would be a gamble, as idk how much more he's gonna play. Also on track to big rises are Koselev (Sheriff), Rashica (Vitesse), Tete (Ajax), Ferrari (Bologna), Vukcevic (Braga), Glesion, on loan at Porto B, João Graça of Porto B and Selikhov (Amkar).

  4. In November 2015, SM released a new match engine along with their new interface and relaunch to celebrate 10 years of SM! Happy Birthday SM! Steven (SM) very kindly elaborated on this new engine in a separate post: "...Also, player position compatibility for certain formations is now more realistic, making match days more strategic. For example only DM(L/R) and M(L/R) can only play the wingback role perfectly within formations such as 3-5-2 and D(L/R) will not play as well in a 3 man defence..." This new engine has caused some controversy among SM managers. It is implied that players with AM(RCL) attributes are no longer guaranteed to perform successfully in M(RCL) positions. Essentially, they will be playing 'out of position' (like fielding an AM at F). This was not the case with the previous match engine. It has also been noted that a number of players (for example, TURAN, DI MARIA etc.) currently do NOT possess any flat M(RCL) positional abilities and that Soccerwiki (the source of SM statistics) has been fairly conservative in issuing M(RCL) positional abilities (primary or secondary) to AM players. The purpose of this thread is to thrash the issue out, but as I have started it, I will give my two cents! ...I see the changes as primarily driven by the widespread abuse of AMs and wingers. The flat midfield (M) in a 4-4-2, 3-5-2 etc. is NOT the same at the AM positions in a 4-2-3-1. For this reason, AMs with NO M(RCL) abilities should NOT be able to play this deep. In the past, many managers have mindlessly hoarded all the highest rated advanced AMs and successfully forced them into a flat midfield. The previous game engine permitted this and this was wrong. I applaud any attempt to penalize managers that adopt (and have adopted this tactic). SM is clearly working WITH Soccerwiki's attributes with the intention of preventing managers from fielding too many attack minded players in an 11 man squad and therefore there is absolutely no need for Soccerwiki to alter player positions. Instead, SM managers must and should change their tactics and behavior. Secondly, many of the AM(RCL) players that SM managers have argued should have their positional attributes revised, do NOT play in a flat M(RCL) regularly or consistently in real life. Indeed, very few top teams deploy a flat midfield regularly in real life and the purist, traditional M(RCL)s like David Beckham are much rarer nowadays. In short, I strongly suspect that SM managers are motivated by a desire to return the old days, where they could get away with fielding HAZARD, TURAN, DIMARIA and RONALDO all at M(RCL). This was and always will be an unrealistic and undesirable situation and I pray that SM developers never return to this state of affairs. This thread is open to posters of all views and persuasions and I look forward to thrashing the issue out with a frank and lively debate!

    prize money

while the new improvements have been great for the most part, somethings remained the same. The re-evaluation of player was long over due. However, the prize money for winning the league, domestic cup and the gold is too small. Expensive players and small prize money does not make any sense. that's one aspect of the game that need revising.

  6. the new value/wages system destroys the competitiveness of the game. because now the lower teams can't buy good players. the previous system was good and the only improveness it wanted was the value to be stable when a team buys the player. and does not change when the manager sold some players. for example. i buy a player 5 m. and in my team the value was 8m. for the same player. it should be stay 8 m. until i sell him. and not changing upwards if i sell some players or changing downwards if i buying some better players. now the lower teams can't improve their finances to buy good players and if they have already good players cann' t financially support them and finally they will sell them. so the competitiveness of the game won't exist any more. it could be a limit in the players everybody can have. for examble 33 for first team (that means 3 elevens) and 99 for youth team under 21. or something else that avoid someone to have all the good players. but the new wages/value system destroys the lower teams and strengthens the better teams. and now all the players would be in fewer teams.

  7. Must change our tactics, our formations, than soccerwiki change all players position to match to our formation. This game should be based on reality, on real football, and not what suit us. The hard way is to squeeze our brains to find the suitable formation

  8. They just included an option to choose between the old and new interface. The problem is that when I select the old one I pretty much canno do anything. The Squad-Tactics-Transfers and everything else...are being blocked by commercials.

    SM & SW are hilarious

I've decided to write this topic because SM didn't added this player : Patrick Petre Club : Dinamo Bucuresti Age : 18 For whom who are not romanian, this player is one of Romania's hottest talents, making his debut and scoring his 1st goal more than a year ago. Despite being in the first team for more than 12 months, he hasn't been added yet on the database. Ok, maybe he doesn't play regularly but my frustration is that I can't add new players on SW because SW requires "level 4 or above reputation to add this data", and that despite adding alot of new information before the implementation of this stupid rule. The issue is that SW doesn't have a precise solution on growing your reputation.

  10. Thank God we have a way back, for how long i do not know, i hope forever........everything is at my fingertips, and i can do all my clubs 10 times faster and i know 99% where everything is..........The new may look nice but the old one is superior, easier, more comfortable and quicker.........my head is also more stable not having to look at all those things twirling around.........LONG LIVE THE OLD INTERFACE..........I AM NOT HAPPY WITH THE NEW

  11. I'm playing SM for a couple of months, it has been a great experience, I love the game, found good and honest users, but... CHEATERS ARE ALL AROUND... I started noticed many suspicious deals, new "users" selling its best players in pathetic deals, and when the dirty job is done, either resign or stay 30 days without login... I'm sure you all know the MO I reported all the blatant situations. SMFA only acted one time - a recently created account made pathetic and quick deals, clearly benefiting the main account. Both new and old accounts were playing at the exact same gws... SMFA removed the new manager, but... the INFRACTOR HAD NO PUNISHMENT... got Neymar for peanuts, is still managing and what's worrying is that he has a 260 reputation, which means that you can be a cheater for a long time... this could be a joke, but I know a guy that has 2 main accounts, intitled "xxxxx" and "xxxxx2"... and was caught with more fake accounts... at this exact moment there's a manager with 2 fake accounts, doing what you know... I reported to SMFA, but I already know that the answer will be an automated meaningless message... CHEATERS JUST DON'T GET PUNISHED... IS THIS ACCEPTABLE? is SM worried about this huge problem called CHEATING? Am I being stupid for playing by the rules, fairly, being polite, reporting cheaters?... should I become a moron and join the "dark side"?... SM is wonderful game, and I hope that SM is worried with its reputation and game integrity, and starts taking serious actions against cheating, otherwise honest people like me are just being stupid for playing an inequitable game

  12. It's not enough watching games. Obviously players move up, down, right and left in the pitch during a match. Centre backs could go forward in the opponent area when corner kick is assigned but they are not forwards and forward positions are not requested. I saw often Aubameyang coming back down right flank to help defensive action last season but this doesn't mean he needs midfielder or fullback positions added. Proofs are links like transfermarkt (I linked up just Daniele De Rossi, let's find you the remaining). So link here what you are asserting to corroborate it. It's a bit strange users' interest to change position to offensive players just after SM relaunch. I'd like to suggest again to change different formation by 3-5-2 or buy/exchange offensive players with more defensives ignored.

  14. Loaning players and selling players to one club more than others is the same as having two clubs? Guess you can report me for deals with Yeovil & Liverpool then, since there's been a couple of season where I've hit 3 deals (the maximum) with them. Or is the part where I tell them about risers the part that upset you? It was mostly a joke, but you're full of crap if you think my idea was even on the edge of cheating. Stupid thing to suggest.

  16. The old interface this is still being worked on as it was only put live again yesterday and there will be some display issues like with formations and where players can play on the tactics page. If a player is highlighted as yellow on the tactics page it means they can potentially play there but they will be penalised for doing so. We are currently in the process of making this a lot harsher and personally I wouldn't put a player out of position now or going forward unless it was an emergency. Good point and i've flagged this up. One of the issues that our community raised was "player hogging" and therefore we won't be relaxing the loan system because this would defeat the point of us trying to tackle this issue and implement the feedback we've had. The match engine has been ported from SM16. So no it's not technically a new one as it's a few months old but it has replaced the old one that we had for a good number of years. We will continue to make improvements to it going forward like adding 2D matchday highlights to the score centre. Re the old interface this is still being worked on as it was only put live again yesterday and there will be some display issues like with formations and where players can play on the tactics page. I really like the app and it's how it should've been when we launched our app a few years back. I think it's very slick and easy to use but needs a few things ironing out and this will be done over the coming weeks. I took me a few days to get used to the new UI and there's still things that i'm flagging up that i'm finding hard to do. If i'm finding them hard and i've been playing since day one then others will be as well. So we want our community to provide as much feedback on the new UI as possible to help us make changes going forward. I think the new UI is like marmite - you either love it or hate it. I think those that don't like it are the older members of our community who have got used to the old interface but we've had good feedback from our newer members. So now is the time to try and get that balance with your help and feedback to improve the new UI whilst everyone has the option to change between both old and new.

  17. Sorry on my phone and can't find the quote option.... ...a manager in my game world fielded HAZARD and BALE at RM and LM tonight in a 3-5-2. ...both players got 8.0 ratings and both scored. Steven...has the new match engine been implemented yet? Would you be able to elaborate on how the new engine will influence this kind of behavior?...as last time I checked, neither could play at RM/LM according to Soccerwiki and I thought that the new engine would penalize this kind of deployment. I appreciate that you must be really busy, but I think that it is only fair that managers know where they stand. If we can 'get away' with fielding AM(RCL)/WINGERS in a flat M(RCL) position...we should know. If we will be penalized for it, we should also know how. I just want some clarity on the issue. Please let me know. I just checked my main GW where one player is especially notorious for using this tactic and sure enough he played 3-5-2 with wingers out wide and won very comfortably against another decent team.... Surely if the new game engine is in effect these wingers should be getting a 3-4 rating no?

  20. this just proves you 1. don't follow football 2. don't even read my posts properly I mentioned those three players with regards to play on the sides of a flat FRONT three in a 433 or a 3133. I wasn't talking about M(RL) with regards to any of them, but F(RL). a different issue arising from the same problem. that was pretty obvious. but since you asked: -James played LM for all of Colombia's 2014 World Cup qualifiers, and a bunch of 2018 ones too. -Isco played M,AM(LC) for Madrid pretty much all of last season. and the season before too. and before that for Malaga as well. and for Spain at times too. even when lined up in a central zone he always drifts into M(L) areas to start attacks. -Iniesta doesn't "technically" play LM but if you've ever watched him you know functionally he occupies LM zones and responsibilities, both offensive and defensive. all three should have M(L). you could give Isco M(RL) tbh, but he doesn't often play on the right side even though he is capable.

  22. Why do you need a flat midfield? Why cant you just adjust your tactics and formations? I think there should by an imaginary line 2/3 up the pitch. A player can either play one side or the other...he cannot be played at both. When I say 'cannot', I mean managers 'cannot get away with'...i.e the match engine should lower the player's performance rating and form if fielded incorrectly. All I hear is people wanting to field PRIMARILY attacking players as deep as they can. Hell...why not put them in defense or in goal! That way you can fit all 11 of the worlds best attacking players into your formation! You hear how ridiculous this sounds?...yet so many SM managers used to get away with fielding players like AGUERO at CM...even though he barely gets anywhere near this position in real life.

  23. Been a member on SM for nearly 10 years and to be honest my experience of the game has been great except for customer service. Now please don't take this the wrong way but there has been a clear lack of communication and choice for customers who have spent time and money creating new sides and maintaining old ones and I know many friends and fellow players who have already given up becusee of this. This latest change has come about ignoring a lot of feedback from the people who matter most: existing customers. I used to recommend SM to whoever would listen but now I won't. The new features and changes are aimed at new users and new GWs. The changes have destroyed the functionality of many older GWs mainly due to the rises in player values. Now I'm faced with the prospect of either abandoning all current GWs and starting over or just leaving all together. The aesthetics of a game don't bother me, the change of layout isn't bad and will have teething problems to start with but the idea of increasing price of players in existing GWs has overnight completely changed the balance of my teams and how I can invest in future. I am not a player who has ever hogged and I always try to balance out a squad with age and youth even in top GWs I'll happily have the 30+ players but now the incentive is to buy youth who have astronomical values. But even then it doesn't work out right because Andrea Pirlo 92 rated is worth £3m and Jamie Vardy 87 is worth £3.7m and Danny Ings is worth £8m! Now managers will focus even more on the wrong number, age, over rating because SM is telling them that being younger is better than being obviously better!

  24. Look, i'm not going to go into absolute details about all things. Simply, you have made it harder to find sections of the game by increasing the amount of clicks we have to make. It's obvious why you've done this but what you haven't seem to have accounted for is this logic: A user will spend more time on the game/your site if it's user friendly. In turn generating more clicks. People are already demanding refunds and a lot of potential customers have been deterred. Here's a message from another forum (another member, not me) i'm on: "Well I was going to buy a gold membership a couple of days ago, just so I could prioritise my (now missing) shortlist and so I could store more than one starting 11 and tactics at a time. I thought it would come in handy when cup games were being played, and also be worth a measly £10 for the year, but they can right off now. It's awful. Real shame as I was loving it." On the old UI everything was so easy to find. You had the "taskbar" with everything lined up. "Team/Front page" - Squad - Tactics - Schedule etc. SImple, clean and effective. Now you have to click on a section to get to a section to get to a different section. Then go back, go to a new section to go to a different section. Just complicated. The new graphics look as designed for kids. Flashy colours, stars and player pictures all over. Should have just kept it simple and clean. Like the old UI. There really was no need to change it. Hopefully the new ME is better, for that i'll give you cred. I know you won't listen to a thing i've said so i don't know why i even bother. You will find out the hard way. Damn shame.

  25. I played the Pavillions world and gave some very constructive advice much of which has been ignored. Unfortunately you have managed to alieniate much of your current user base . At least 5 of my clubs have lost in the region of 200M in value and will be effectively bankrupted by the end of the year. In one day 5 years work with one club and much more with others has been undone. You have also , as I informed at the time , created a short cut to short term success as teams have hoarded younger players to sell now. These clubs will under no circumstance sell thier older players or stars as they can in some cases sit on 400M plus in gained revenue. The interface is so slow that it has taken me 30 minutes to scan through 6 clubs rather than the time it has taken me to look at all your clubs. I very much fear that you have killed your own game stone dead. I hope I am wrong but I suspect not. If you look at the exodus from many game worlds you really must be worried. Under no circumstance will I renew my gold membership as things stand. I have noticed that the old interface works perfectly fine with the new changes , so why not allow use to skin the game that way and use it as we wish?

  26. this new update has so many faults ....tactics page is a dogs dinner, way over thought for a simple task of picking a team....no seperation of subs and first team ( who okayed this ? ) ...do we really need moral percentages ? autopick? lol...the old set up was fine if it was spruced up a bit (colour ,team crests)...this will take months to iron out and by that time a can see so many gold managers leaving ...this is aimed at teenagers and young kids now who have other similar and better football managing games already available ...massive own goal here ...

  31. ANDREA BARZAGLI now moved to right full-back. Barzagli is a treasure and he should be appreciated like one. He is playing unbelievably well right now. It's come to the point where if I see a player making a run on the right side of Juventus' defense I'm not even worried. Why? Because Barzagli's got it covered!
