Quite random, but every now and then I'm amazed by how this thread became the main predictions thread (main overall thread on this forum). I started it casually, and now we have 854 pages, 21k replies and 987k views. It's quite nice

SWIKI: has moved on (I hoped for better) BUT to The English Division 1:- Bolton and Southend in the relegation zone at the moment... (sigh!) Latest Upload (Portugal) Below:- Remember this is my first spreadsheet predictions for Portugal so the accuracy is unlikely to be as good as BIG5 predictions. I have to find SM's 0%Line and adjust for the next review. Hopefully my estimation, won't be critically out this first time. Previous tables on pages 777, 779, 780, 781, 782, 783, 784.785,786,787, 788, 789, 790, 791,792,793, 794,795,796,797,798,799,800,801,803,804,805.806,807,808,810,811,812,813,814.816,817,818,819,821,822,823,824,825,826,827,828,829,830,831.832,833,834,835.836,837,839,841,842,844,845,855, 866 Be careful of the Reddish boxes where the higher rated players are more inclined towards performances rather than stats. Minutes will vary game by game and league position also helps a lot. Anything over 0% indicates likely riser, higher the better/safer. Negative percentages don't predict a drop just less chances of a rise. The more games played the more accurate the predictions should be. I am concentrating mainly on Younger under 89 rated players as these are more consistent risers and more profitable, Goal keepers are dealt with by SM in a completely different way, which is why I mostly also ignore Gk's Hopefully SM will get around to this b4 too long now. Portugal was last reviewed I think in February 2019 and before that March 2018 which is 11months. On that basis it could be said, should have been reviewed b4 now. Let's hope they don't keep us waiting much longer. I did look at Famalicao but probably there best prospects P Goncalves and G Assuncao both got pitiful +1 rises very recently, one of them on the 9th, just 2days ago. Could be a waste of time, so we will see if that's all they give. Hard to predict SM on that basis, hope they are not as pitiful, with the above TOP Clubs. Thanks to all and appreciate the interest, Cheers Socca

Of course this kind of thing can be talked about here. I just hope that next time it's not done with a lack of respect and with the intention to provoke.

I know this is not my thread as such, however with the absence of mods (and the presence of my name on this thread), I feel like it is my unofficial role to do so. As such I would prefer the Kobe discussions to stop. If it's not gonna be civil then let's not discuss it in the first place. To those offended by certain people/comments, just ignore it. While this is a predictions thread, it's one of the few active pages on this forum, and it's nice to have discussions out of predictions too. Let's just be respectful and sensitive. Cheers guys

Finally finished the structure 2hours ago and it only left enough time to populate and input 2 clubs but should be quicker tomorrow,. Note Stengs and Myron Boadu got rises just a month or so ago so SM might ignore them both. I also have to point out that as Netherlands & all the above are completely new I don't actually know where the all-important 0%percentage line is. That isa crucial part of the calibration and I have hopefully got it as close as i can without having 9years of data and reviews to go by. I have tried to make it that the 0%line is "well in hand" so that it will fall on the lower safer side, but we will have to see. It's exciting starting something new but takes a lot longer. More tomorrow, thanks again everybody... Cheers Socca Ps I hope all this arguing will subside very soon and we can get back to everybody being friendly to each other again .... Please 🤐

Disagree with this, Ramos earned his rating for being one of the most consistent cbs in the world for years and years. While Ramos should've lost his 95 this review VVD doesn't deserve a 96 rating when he's not been as good this season as he was last season. A good example of this is until Matip got injured he was Liverpools best cb early on. SM used to be really critical of cbs when it came to ratings, if they still are they wouldn't give vvd a higher rating than Ramos, Vidic, etc ever got

Griez is younger, so I presume he will retain a higher rating for much longer. I hope that he can now improve his performances for Barça even more, now that EV has (finally) gone. Not that EV was a terrible coach, just not good enough for Barça IMHO (especially in the CL games - that mattered). Too soon for me. I completely agree with RobboEFC's opinion! Mr Gumball I disagree with you in that VVD should be (fast-tracked) to a 96, it seems so unfair on those before him. As VVD hasn't yet had the years of top-level consistency/cup finals as the likes of such defensors: S.Ramos, D.Alves, C.Puyol and N.Vidic. 😏

Apologies to the forum for being relatively missing of late. Found I needed time to recover from the huge amount of work on my spreadsheet involved in reviewing the BIG5. Christmas had it's own time pressures as well, but thank goodness SM slowed down somewhat and that helped a little. Anyway onwards... A few random comments first b4 a belated Update below:- Lyon seem hard pressed with Injuries, in response you may feel like selling, Depay, Reine-Adelaid both out while EO Season. Perhaps NOT Youssouf Kone back 14 Feb or Leo Dubois 29 February. Yusuf Yazici at Lille out til EOS too. SWIKI: Championship after a bit of a delay, gone thru in last 2 days:- Sheff Wednesday, Milwall, Swansea, Blackburn, Brentford, and Preston N.E. Quite a total, but actually slightly less than previous reviews. As you probably know, I have already put into my spreadsheet some of the clubs in Netherlands and will do an update of these probably later today. But my plans for next week are to look for some other European Clubs and also incorporate them into my spreadsheet. I'll be looking for YOUNG RISERS at Top Clubs and Countries hopefully, relatively soon to be reviewed like Netherlands. I won't be doing ALL CLUBS just the cream. Again usual uploads will probably come around or b4 6PM UK time This IS A BIG POST so will probably be Held UP and Hidden... We'll see Cheers Socca

It looks good. But I think u missed Jesus Corona...im expecting a +1 for him. Luis Maximiano is missing too. New starting keeper for the upcoming years (new Rui Patricio). P. Gonçalves and Assunção will get another rise for sure. Vitor Ferreira was given a +5 too. (hot prospect). Vlachodimos, Taarabt, Marchesin and Mateus Uribe could get a +1 too. Nice job

Julian Brandt (23) (91) Advanced Playmaker - Winger type: A regular for B.Dortmund. Naby Keita (24) (91) Playmaker - Midfielder type: Not yet a regular starter for Pool. Naby is 5 years younger than veterans: J.Hendo, Wiji, and J.Milner.I reckon in about 2 years time Naby will be able to replace one of them 3 for more regular game-time in Pool's midfield. But in the mean-time he must overcome his injury problems, get more use to playing PL football. There's also the possibly addition of M.Grujic and the OX 🐂 standing in his way as well. I hate to admit it, even as a causal MU fan that Naby plays for probably the best team in the World right now, under a great manager. So if you can be patient too see how Naby does then I recommend you choose Naby Keita. Right now I would certainly take the duo + cash - but only if losing Rashford won't be too much of a big miss for you (current performances level for your club), also consider that Rash will eventually hit 92 before the likes of L.Jovic (who needs more game-time at RM) and J.Maddison. Having said that I'm sure the 40M will come in very handy for you to strengthen your team in other areas. I reckon J.Gomez has done enough for a +1. I'm sure RobboEFC would agree with me that you should get rid of B.Chilwell. Although as - !¡BµKa🔑 mentioned: wait to see if he rises, first. For LB you will have A.Hakimi and L.Hernandez, so you should be 👌 without B.Chilwell.

He is soooo hyped. His ratings cannot keep swinging up just because lpool are a better team than the trash they have been for 30 years. Please

Guys. No disrespect. I have been playing the game for looooong time. The higher the rating the less it should fluctuate. The rating is based more on achievements and accolades. And not just one two good seasons in both which he didn’t win the league. The other thing swaying some people is that he came from nowhere with his progress - celtic Southampton and then being very good. Whereas Ramos has been consistent and played at the highest level for most of his career. He cannot just drop because Madrid had a bad season last year! Again in line with volatility of higher ratings. They don’t just yo yo!

Co-incidently I did add Anthony Gordon to Everton on the spreadsheet yesterday to see whether he qualifies for a rise and even for only 44mins it predicts a +5 to 75 with +17% . My concern is, has Swiki already done Everton and I'm not sure. He is England u19 with 2goals and 186minutes and 83mins in 2018. Anyway I'll try to upload (amongst others I was doing and see if there's not too much space required) as it will show Holgate on +17.2% too. Erling Haaland fantastic prospect as I and others have said previously on the Forum. Son of Alfie Haaland (Leeeds United) and Born in Leeds! He has got to be good with this "breeding". He was Subbed on in 56th minute with Dortmund losing 2-1 and scored 3minutes later with Jadon Sancho assist. Then again 11minutes later (Hazard assist) and again 9mins after this (assist by Reus). Definitely a Lewandowski type with a good chance of being just as good which is saying an awful lot! As I said b4 GET HIM if u haven't already!! Augsbrg 3 Dortmund 5. Yes Prof he is a definite 90+ prospect! Hopefully upload below on short term 88. swanseajack below says exactly what I was thinking. Spreadsheet predicted 89 too. Very Generous 90, Winks exactly same? Nothing Premiership wise on Swicki this morning! Villa's Premiership has taken 3days already and such as El Ghazi's not got a +1 yet, complete?? Burnley also reviewed below:- I hope to get back(time allowing) with an analysis/Insight of how the spreadsheet for Aston Villa attempts to simulate what SM are thinking about most of these players. I find it fascinating but then I am am natural Nerdy Gurdy spreadsheet man! Edit: My mistake: Input error: Itchy fingers: Guilbert zero, No Rise, Nul Points!

Coutinho and definitely IF he rejoins Liverpool !iBuka Dani Olmo is a MUST HAVE IMO, Grab him Djordjee! An "idea" is SOON Rossi! Always to get a ROUGH IDEA click on an Argentina Club say Boca Juniors then click on player ratings then put the dates in date order and u have a picture of what has happened in the past at whatever club U choose(Appx 1 year so roughly around now). There are always some random single player reviews that confuse it a little but still something like a picture usually about 12months u see Feb 2018 - Jan 2019, were in Feb 2020 so overdue now. Because SM = Slow Motion I'm afraid there are more than a few overdue now.... 🤢 Swiki Still no sign of next country, still doing Div 1 England Oxford, Fleetwood, Tranmere, Ipswich and Doncaster today. Sunday is usually a Slow Motion day tomorrow and monday's not usually Great either. I've tried to be on the lower side if either way, so your estimation is probably correct. Could well be, but it's always possible as I think U know Swansea. Sometimes I think SM do it purposely. Take Bastoni's rise today, they should have given this in December but it happens so often and there are so many errors corrected later, some not ever corrected as well. Either really stupid and slipshod or making life a bit more difficult for good scouts to gain an advantage by buying and selling. They do this in other ways as well, like changing the valuation of players at different times and/or not giving the increase (profit) at all, hoping that we sell in between. Seen this happen for many years now.

Thanks TM for the extra info above and your kind remarks, much appreciated. I can tell those who don't know that U are something of an expert on Portugal and a number of other countries, so I hope forumers will take these into account too, cheers for this 🙂 I do however myself try to keep the tables compact and in line with the "I am concentrating..." paragraph in each of my posts. I mainly exclude Gk's (Luis Maximiano and Vlachodimos) , Taarabt is 30, Marchesin 31, Mateus Uribe 28, Jesus Corona 27 and Vitor Ferreira as u point out has already been reviewed just 3 or 4 days ago. These comments are NOT meant in anyway to be critical, just me justifying why I excluded them. I will be continuing to exclude "the lesser possible profitable risers such as these again in my tables". It's my own fault because I do sometimes include GK's and older players but it is not too often I hope. Ps Swiki continue today with Tranmere, Wimbledon, MK Dons and Rochdale all in lowest 6 of English Division 1 (Sigh!) TM Costa's X Files are recommended and can be found here, with lots of great Info:-

Minutes will vary game by game and league position also helps a lot. Anything over 0% indicates likely riser, higher the better/safer. Negative percentages don't predict a drop just less chances of a rise. The more games played the more accurate the predictions should be. I am concentrating mainly on Younger under 89 rated players as these are more consistent risers and more profitable, Goal keepers are dealt with by SM in a completely different way, which is why I mostly also ignore Gk's Update of weekend results minus the postponed games Utrecht v Ajax and Az v Feyenoord. Should have another for you sometime tomorrow (probably the Top Portugal Clubs) Remember this is my first spreadsheet predictions for Netherlands so the accuracy is unlikely to be as good as BIG5 predictions. I have to find SM's 0%Line and adjust for the next review. Hopefully my estimation, won't be critically out this first time. Nothing at all in SWiki this morning, expecting something happening soon as Championship almost finished in SWiki. Who will they move to next, Netherlands, Portugal etc etc? .... surely by my calculations these 2 should be due soon!

What if Liverpool lose by Atletico in 1/8F UCL? Big respect for their results, but how many of you remember that Real Madrid won UCL titles 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, and they never had this hype? What's next, another rise in summer review? Real situation: TAA deserved +2 not 1. Robertson +1 (summer), not now. VVD 95 - reality. Alisson played 15/23 games, +1 summer. Mane +1, deserved. Fabinho undeserved (depends on playing time/performance at the end of the season) Wijnaldum MAX 92 atm. Firmino is key of the Liverpool, but SM will never recognize his quality.

Agreed 50/50, Review of ManU started 2 days ago?? If not tomorrow then Andreas can get one too, which would be good. Clearly Duo Naby Keita has shown good signs recently BUT would have to keep improving. So Brandt just now, future Maybe Naby Extremely good advice from Ibuka, spot on! Swiki: Didn't see any Championship clubs going thru this morning, but it is Sunday, sleepy sunday.... "Lazy Sunday Afternoon, got no time to worry, close my eyes and drift away...." . First one to spot who said that??? Won't be a younger person I'd Guess. More from the Premiership review:- ManU might not be finished. Not too many Premiership to come but interesting ones ...Cheers Socca

Why are my posts hidden now? Quoted my preds twice with this text, both posts are hidden. As a Utd fan, I can live with most of the changes. De Gea was surprising but 93 is probably his level now. Rashford no 92 is sad but he'll get it eventually. What surprises me is Andreas. I know he hasn't been great but minutes played was a sure guarantee of at least a +1 I thought. Doesn't deserve 88 now certainly but 87 is fair for someone playing nearly 2000 minutes so far.

Or where it should be in a less BIG League with much smaller clubs in particular like Heerenveen. The principal is still the same tho, if a player has a lower SM Rating and have better stats ie mins, goals, assists, play for a better club at a higher place in the table then you should benefit from a higher rise than a player with lower stats. Thank you for your interest and support, which is gratefully appreciated. Cheers Socca

I reckon players will continue to be overrated due to the fact that they are English (no offence to the English). And the hype which surrounds some players (at times). I also think players will (harshly) continue to drop/not rise, especially if they have not performed well in previous years and avoided a drop. A players age could also be a more negative factor in the game. Only recently: C.Immobile: Not rising +1 to 93. He's been the best strikers in Serie A this season. Koke's: drop to 93. Atletico Madrid aren't doing too bad considering they have sold/got rid of the likes of: A.Griezmann, D.Godin, F.Luis, Juanfran, R.Hernandez and L.Hernandez last summer. 🤔 just trying to make sense of SM's craziness. It depends if you really need an addition of 2 wing players in your team - to replace aging/lesser rated players (although Mbappe can also play on either wing as well). I would personally keep Mbappe as he is the highest rated and has more of a superstar persona about him. There is also more hype around him compared to the other 2. By that I mean he is more likely to be placed on the front cover of a FIFA game compared to the other two. It really wouldn't be a surprise at this point. Does he deserve it? 60/40 IMHO. (I'm a causal red, so maybe being a bit biased). Tough choice. 🤔 I would choose E.B Haaland because (right now) he seems the more likely to rise the quickiest, and is now at the perfect Club to show us all what he's made of. Though if you prefer more of a winger type of a player than go ahead and choose A.Fati instead.

I know people like to moan about various SM ratings, who was missed, who was screwed out of a rating etc..... But surely J Lingz keeping anything even close to a 90 rating has to be THE worst SM rating decisions, maybe EVER! Opinions?

Particularly with some of these much smaller clubs than the Big5. Many of these came out much higher percentages and I have lowered them quite a bit to be safer but basically I'm guessing, so be warned. They take a lot more time to do as well. I'll think on it overnight about leaving it as it is and I can then use these as a test case for the review, when it comes. If anybody has a particular Netherlands player or Club he just must have, let me know. If possible by the morning and I'll see what I can do. Feyenoord may be worth doing. Sorry about this... Cheers Socca Ps Just noticed Buitink @ Vitesse should be zero and stay or at most could get +2.

The whole point of the rating system and this thread is to compare current players with the best of the best since SM was created so we can predict rating changes. If you don't like that maybe don't talk on a thread based around predictions....? Should ratings be given out more generously because the quality in a certain position has dropped so there's a bigger gap between 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc or should it be done like every other position? Next you'll be saying Salah deserves 98 Also, did I say matip carried vvd? I said he was Liverpools best defender till he got injured, stop being an idiot who twists words to suit there agenda

Ramsdale missed one game this season, through a clearly reported injury, other than that he's been an ever present and other than Nathan Ake has been Bournemouth's best player this season. I don't understand the plus three at all, especially when they were generous with other players who've not performed as well (Mepham, Wilson). Bizarre really, hopefully because he is such a stand out performer he gets his rating corrected in the next month or two. If Cantwell's an 85, Jamal Lewis is an 85 and Mepham's an 85 then Ramsdale must be. First thing they've got wrong so far for the Prem.
