The 27 year old Uruguayan international Sebastian EGUREN (CM/DM) has had so far an undistinguished career. Having been tested positive for cocaine, and having had a transfer canceled due to "psychological reasons", i would say his career has also been quite dramatic.
Therefore, it came as a surprise when the Hammarby IF player was loaned to La Liga's Villarreal, and managed to acquire a starting position! The midfielder has started every single game for Villarreal except the very first game after he joined. That's 9 starts in a row. Villarreal have the option to sign him for 1 million euros, and do plan to take this option.
Currently rated only 85. If he keeps his position in the team, which he probably will, he will have a rise to 88/89 by the time the Spanish ratings roll around. Have to say, one of my best finds yet Sign him, but not before me

    Level of recommendation: ***
Commentary: The spur's own Fabregas! signed from the academy of Athletico Bilbao, Berchiche holds great potential. If he did not leave the spanish club, he was deemed certain to get quite a few first team appearances this season. Although at the spurs, there's Gareth Bale before him, his potential remains, and the Basque player is a future star. The only reason it's 3 stars is because tottenham is managed in almost every set up, but u can always try to fool the guy

Commentary: I concede that i am a tad too late for this player. Should have put him on before the french changes. Anyways, 26 goals in 30 games! the second top scorer in ligue 2 only has 13 goals. this guy will be amazing next year in ligue 1, and quite likely to move to a better team/league.

The 25year old keeper started the last 4 games for Betis, in place of the portugese worldcup hero Ricardo (91), and ahead of the team's other keeper Doblas (87), making his season record to 6 full games.
ricardo was on the bench for all 4 games.
Rated ONLY 75, this could be a very good money spinner, as we will probably see his rating rise to the mid-80s

000ace000 reacted to Burning Spear in u19 international bargains
From looking at the u19 european championship qualifying, there struck me as being many good young players, with great potential. All mentioned are on DB, and cost less than 100,000. Sorry if mentioned before, but the more info the better:D
    1. Krystian PEARCE CB 17 70 ENG 10k
Pearce is a product of Birmingham City's academy. He has had two loan spells at notts county and port vale, making 35 appearances this season so far. He captained the Birmingham u-18 side to the youth cup final last season. He was an integral part of the England u-17 team that lost to Spain in the final of the 2007 UEFA tournament. Terry Brooking described Pearce as the 'best player in the world cup'. Pearce is both footed, pacy, tall and good in the air - the hallmarks of a world class defender. Also good going forward, he scored against Belgium and Iceland in qualifying. Highly Recommended
    2. Sam HUTCHINSON RB/CB 18 68 ENG 20k
Hutchinson is at Chelsea, so chances to impress have been limited, but he captained the England under 19s in their friendly with Germany. Has played in all of England's recent qualifiers, and made the second most appearances for Chelsea's youth team last season, proof of their trust in him. Although he has not had quite the same plaudits as Pearce, he still has the potential to go a long way.
    3. San Jose MIKEL CB 18 72 SPA 70k
Mikel is the lynchpin of a miserly Spanish defence, which conceded just one goal in its three qualifiers for the elite round. He was snapped up by Liverpool from the Athletic Bilbao academy, and is seen as having great potential, though he hasn't made a first team appearance as of yet, but was on the bench for the away game at Chelsea, showing Benitez's confidence in the youngster.
    4. Emilio NSUE F 18 72 SPA 70k
Already mentioned many times on the forum, but I thought it would be churlish to leave him out. Nsue is already breaking into the team with two sub appearances, while many of europe's biggest clubs are chasing him.
    5. Daniel PAREJO CM 18 70 SPA 10k
Parejo is currently at Real Madrid Castila, which has produced many La Liga players recently, such as De La Red, Miguel Torres and Esteban Granero. He has scored 8 goals for Castilla this season from midfield, and he netted Spain's winner against Greece in the 2007 u19 football championships, despite being a year younger than many of the other players with a clever free-kick. Once again, I recommend him highly, although SM does not review player ratings for Segunda B, but I would expect a large rise at the start of next season - RMC are currently 2nd.
    6. Botond BIRTALAN F 18 71 20k
Birtalan plays for Sopron in the Hungarian League, which i can't find any stats for, especially as Sopron were relegated last year. But on the international stage, Birtalan has scored two in three games for the under-19s alongside Kristian Nemeth of Liverpool. Could be worth a punt at 20k.
    7. Andras SIMON F 18 71 20k
Simon now plays for Liverpool, who bought him along with Nemeth from MTK. Simon is more of a back up for Birtalan at international level, but Liverpool don't normally buy rubbish youths on the other hand. Could struggle for first team opportunities though.
    8. Jo Sondre AAS CF 18 68 NOR 20k
Aas plays for Rosenborg in Norway, making a sub appearance in their first game of the season - surely a positive sign of future appearances. Aas is an important member of the Norwegian u19s who were very impressive in qualifying unbeaten, including a 3-1 win over a highly rated Dutch team, in which he scored.
    9. Ola KAMARA CF 18 70 NOR 10k
Kamara is used mainly as a sub for Norway, but has already made 3 appearances for Stabaek last year. Wouldn't rush to get him, but you never know..
    10. Christos XENOFONTOS F 19 69 CYP 20k
Played for the Cyprus team who qualified despite a 5-1 hammering by Slovakia in their first game. He plays for AEK Larnaca in Cyprus and has featured 5 times already for them.
    11. Lefteris MATSOUKAS F 18 72 GRE 70k
Matsoukas plays for Olympiakos, for whom he has played in just 1 competitive fixture, but has scored for them in many friendlies. At u19 level he has formed a deadly partnership with AEK's Pavlis who have scored 6 goals between them in Greece's three qualifiers. Greece held France to a 2-2 draw as part of the campaign, so it wasn't all easy for them.
    12. Nikos BARBOUDIS D 18 71 GRE 10k
Barboudis plays for AEK Athens in Greece, though he is currently on loan to feeder club Fostiras. He has performed well in these qualifiers, and scored a goal in the 1-0 defeat of Slovenia. He was the standby for the silver medal winning team of 2007.
    Part Two will come later..
Please note that I am not expecting these players to have any sort of rises, but merely are good cheap long term prospects.

Some of these players have been mentioned before, and i am aware of that.
(only a few players for now, i will update this post tomorow)
    Name: Jacques MOMHA
    Real Life Club: Vit. Guimaraes
    Age: 25
    Position: LB
    Current Rating: 77
    Expected Rating: 81. gradually 85
    Level of recommendation: ***
Commentary: The Cameroonian left-back spent the first half of his professional career as a substitute for french team Strasbourg. Had only about 2-3 games every season. He finally moved away this season, to Portugese team Guimaraes. Guimaraes has been using some new players on its defence, like SERENO and ANDREZINHO (both good buys, too). He is now starting for the team, and will be looking at a decent raise.
    Name: YU Dabao
Real Life Club: Desportivo Aves on loan from Benfica
    Age: 19
    Position: F
    Current Rating: 74
Expected Rating: 77/78. position change to F/AM
    Level of Recommendation: ****
Commentary: So China is not very good at soccer. Saying that he is one of the top prospects in china really doesnt tell much. But this kid is amazing, honestly. When he played in the Benfica reserves, he had a scoring record of about 1.5 goals per game. Made some senior appearances for Benfica in friendlies and cup games. When he went on loan to Des Aves, he was struck down by an injury, which is why he failed to shine. However he has recovered recently, and made his first start yesterday. Had 2 assists in his 2 sub appearances before this. Will be great.
    Name: Nedum ONUOHA
    Real Life Club: Man City
    Age: 21
    Position: CB/RB
    Current Rating: 86
    Expected Rating: 88
    Level of Recommendation: ***
Commentary: OK fine this isnt much of a scout. He's a premier league player. but he has made somewhat of an impact at city this season, and started getting plenty of games as the season dragged on. With injury to micah richards and michael ball, and poor form from garrido and sun jihai, he has been getting plenty of games. looking at a decent raise.

    Re: Guaranteed Risers/Money Spinners
After a couple of Days of Research I've found a few Definite Good Risers form England, Italy and Spain, all Risers mentioned have been predicted a rating change of 5+. I have given them a predicted rise but you can all make your own minds up:
    England
Keith TREACY, 19 years old, LM, 66, Blackburn Rovers
    Stats:
    Premier League: 1 sub
    FA Cup: 1 start
    Carling Cup: 1 sub
    Ireland U21: 1 appearance

Notes: Played for Rovers in the FA and Carling Cup and has recently come on as a sub in the EPL against Pompey. He has also made an appearance for Ireland U21's and is a regular for Blackburn Reserves. From what I've heard he's the next big thing from Rovers youth academy and he'll be big in the future

    Rise from 66 ---> 75
Daniel STURRIDGE, 18 years old, F, 70, Man City
    Stats:
    EPL: 2 starts, 1 goal
FA Cup: 1 sub, 1 goal
Notes: This season he has featured in 3 games and scored 2 impressive goals, expect a good rise and expect to see him more in the future.
    Rise from 70 ---> 77
Jonathon GROUNDS, 20 years old, LB, 72, Boro
    Stats:
    EPL: 4 starts
    FA Cup: 2 starts
Notes: Now made 6 starts for Boro inc. 2 games against Liverpool
    Rise from 72 ---> 80/81
Martyn WAGHORN, 18 years old, CF, 70, Sunderland
    Stats:
    EPL: 2 starts, 1 sub
    FA Cup: 1 start
Notes: 4 games for Sunderland should see him make a higher rating, if he was playing for a club further up in the league I'd say an even bigger rating would come his way.
    Rise from 70 ---> 75
    Spain
Ignacio CAMACHO, 17 years old, CM/DM, 75, Atletico Madrid
    Stats:
La Liga: 3 starts, 1 sub
Notes: Started becoming part of the first team in the latter part of March. If he can keep these games up he may get an even bigger rise than predicted.
    Rise from 75 ---> 82/83
Daniel AQUINO, 17 years old, F/W, 75, Murcia
    Stats:
La Liga: 3 starts, 2 subs
Notes: Played the last 3 games in a trot in March, so one to look out for in Murcia game this weekend. If he continues to play and score goals this 17 year old could see a very nice increase.
    Rise from 75 ---> 79/80
    Italy
    Mauricio ISLA , 19 years old, CB/DM, 74, Udinese
    Stats:
    Seria A: 2 starts, 5 subs
Notes: Played all 7 games since the last rating changes, 6 games in the Month of March, and the other game in February. Over the last Month he has featured in every game for Udinese and if he keeps this up could get a very nice Rating.
    Rise From 74 ---> 81/82(+)
Andrea ROSSI, 21 year old, LB, 76, Siena
    Stats:
    Seria A: 3 starts, 5 subs
Notes: Played most game in the last few months, and personally i think will see an increase to at least 82.
    Rise from 76 ---> 82
Fernando FORESTIERI, 18 yaers old, F/AM, 77, Siena
    Stats:
    Seria A: 3 starts, 11 subs, 1 goal
Notes: Only playing on average 3 games a months but considering his age he is a great buy.
    Rise from 77 ---> 82
    Well thats it ,
all i have to say is Buy, buy! everyone

    Current Rating: 84
Expected Rating: 85/86, possible position change to CF
    Level of recommendation: *
Commentary: I've looked up some stats, and i think he moved to the forward position, and is getting regular games...scored 2 goals this season. quite strange to me. haha i'd sign him more for fun than for rating. but he does still hav potential. had a 3 point rise last time, and still got room for more.
    Name: Ivan TZVETKOV
    Real Life Club: Sivasspor
    Age: 28
    Position: CF
    Current Rating: 83
    Expected Rating: 85/86
    Level of recommendation: **
Commentary: Remember Mohamed Ali Kurtulus, in the last rating changes, who went up 11 points? this is his partner in the Turkish SuperLeague surprise package Sivasspor. Tzvetkov (or Cvetkov on some websites) has been missing goals the whole season, with only 2 goals on his name, if you looked at it last month. However, he has surprised the whole league, as he managed to score 5 goals in the last 2 games. i will keep monitoring this player, and see if he keeps up this form.

This post is for all the small team mangers looking for a bargain! I've got seven players here that all cost minimal amounts, but will have maximum effect!
    Number one on the list...
Mads Rieper - AC Horsens (Denmark) Age 33 CB Rated 60.
I know he's old but I think there has been a slight mistake with his rating! He had made a total of 181 appearences in his career to date. 153 games with AGF Arhus and then 27 starts with AC Horsens last season. First team starter and his team mates are rated around the 83-84 mark. Wages will be £300 a week! Not bad eh?!
Georgios Koutsis - Halkidona (Greece) Age 32 RM Rated 60
Again quite old, but there has been a mistake with his rating! Started 24 games for Halkidona who finished 7th last season. Previously played for Greek giants PAOK. You should again be able to pick him up on the cheap and pay him low wages! I think his rating will be 81.
Mads Timm - Odense (Denmark) Age 21 LM Rated 68
Some would have heard of him. Has just been released from Manchester United after a shocking last couple of years. Was touted for the first team not long ago, but he got banged up for dangerous driving and that was the end of his career at United. He went on loan at Walsall last season, but its this season that I'm expecting him to come good at Odense. Has started every game in the Intertoto cup and made his league debut (played whole game) this week. Rating won't go up just yet, but in 10 weeks time there could well be a case for the increase!
Daryl Murphy - Sunderland Age 23 CF Rated 71
Rated at 71 despite playing 18 (5 starts, 13 sub and 1 goal) Premiership games for Sunderland last season and also making the FULL Rep of Ireland squad.
Sunderland paid £100,000 for his service's from Irish club Waterford and has gone from strength to strength even in a poor Sunderland side.
71 is too low considering he has played half a season of Premiership football and got a call up to a decent national team. Should be at least 80.
Aleksandr Dantsev - Rostov (Russia) Age 21 CM Rated 74
Costs a little more, but he defo has potential! Played EVERY game so far this season in the Russian league. Scored his first goal for the club last week. Made 21 league appearences last season too.
I've banged on about him for a little while now. Even though he was rated 60 at one point, I still think he will go up to 80-81 soon and then carry on rising with the more games he plays.
Lloyd Sam - Charlton Athletic Age 21 W Rated 66
Dowie looks to have been very impressed with him and offered him a 4 year contract just recently. Played for Charlton 3 times last season and had a loan spell at Leyton Orient. Highly thought of at CAFC and should feature next season in the Premiership.
Martin Woods - Sunderland Age 20 LM Rated 68
This is a strange one! He was released by Sunderland before Niall Quinn took over the club, but he's a player with enormous potential. Played 6 games in the Premiership last season after being transfered from Leed Utd. Don't be surprised if he re-signs for Sunderland! Who ever he goes too I think next season will be his break through season.

000ace000 got a reaction from Rishabh Desai in Rising Goalkeepers
OK this thread presents the goalkeepers i found that have recently become starters, and will have a decent raise.
As we know, the position of goalkeepers are relatively stable, thus once a goalkeeper takes over, he is likely to have a really good raise.
    So, let's start with these:
    Player Name: Manuel ALMUNIA
    Age: 30
    Team: Arsenal
    SM Rating: 89
Rating of the original starter in the team: 91
Expected rating after the raise: 90/91
Comments: I'm sure you all know about this guy. He's already had his rating changes the last time around, but despite his ages, i can see him even further, as arsenal are doing an amazing job in the premiership. Besides, he might join the english national team. so, still a bargain
    Player Name: Zeljko KALAC
    Age: 35
    Team: Milan
    SM Rating: 87
Rating of the original starter in the team: 91
Expected rating after the raise: 89
Comments: Good player, despite his horrible error on the world cup probably wont keep his place in milan for too long, due to his age, and milan is looking for a new keeper already. However, just playing starter for a team like that means a decent raise. and because of his age, he's easy to buy.
    Player Name: Radek CERNY
    Age: 33
    Team: Tottenham
    SM Rating: 85
Rating of the original starter in the team: 89
Expected rating after the raise: 87
Comments: Robinson is a good player, and i personally still have faith in him. but with what he did earlier this season, it's going to take him quite a while to work his way back into the team. and while he's gone, cerny has been doing quite well. With a team as amazing as the spurs , this is definitely a bargain buy.
    Player Name: Lewis PRICE
    Age: 23
    Team: Derby
    SM Rating: 82
Rating of the original starter in the team: 85
Expected rating after the raise: 84
Comments: With former starter Stephen Bywater sold to Ipswich, and the subs lacking experience, the welsh international has secured a place in the premiership relegation fighters. (if they are still fighting). anyways playing in the premiership should give him a good raise. besides, we know that the good keepers come from the weaker teams.
    Player Name: Davide BASSI
    Age: 22
    Team: Empoli
    SM Rating: 80
Rating of the original starter in the team: 87
Expected rating after the raise: 84
Comments: I mentioned him in my other thread. Balli is 40 and losing appearances fast, and empoli did not buy a new keeper in the winter transfers, so he should quickly secure his solid starting position.
    Player Name: Pedro RUI PATRICIO
    Age: 19
    Team: Sporting
    SM Rating: 75
Rating of the original starter in the team: 87
Expected rating after the raise: 83
Comments: One of the hottest goalkeeping prospects. Played against man utd in the champions league. Being on a team like sporting, he should have a really good raise, and excellent in the long term, as he has received his call up to the Portuguese national team. BUY HIM.

as the italian rating changes aren't too far off
i have created a list of cheap players who will go up (this will be particularly helpfull for those of us in english champs)
-edited with the help of stu2008-
GK: Kalac currently rated 87 with dida injured he has been getting a look in at AC milan with match winning performances against shaktar and udinese he will surely go up and will only cost you in the region of 1-2 mill
GK: Handanovic ( Udinese) on arriving in the summer the slovenien international has been impressive to say the least starting all games. After De
Sanctis's departure in the summer the media thought handanovic wouldnt be able to fit the bill. But he has proved all of us wrong
    he is only rated 86
    and will cost 5 mill
GK: Alfonso (inter) aged a mere 19, and has a couple of games under his belt he is seen as the long term replacement for Julio Cesar when he leaves. Clearly he must be a good player as two people have recomended him to be added
    rated only 75
    and will cost 500-700 k
RB: Di silvestri,( No im not mad choosing a defender from lazio ) despite lazios position he is undoubtabely italy's best young defending prospect, he is only 78 currently but has played almost all games for lazio and will only cost 1.2 mill tops
CB: Cristian Zapata (udinese) i am very fond of zapata he is big and strong and is been constantly linked to juventus. the columbian is the rock in the centre of their three man defence. only 21
and rated 88 i am expecting him to go up
will be pricey at 11 mill but is a price worth paying
CB:Nicola Legrotaglie (juve) he makes up one of the meanest defences in italy conceding only 3 goals at home he is only rated 86, his performances have been so impressive there is talk of him being selected for Donadoni's Euro 2008 team
He will only cost 2.5 mill
LB: Molinaro (juve) due to chiellini moving to the centre of defence for juve molinaro has been given a chance he is a speedy lb reminiscent of zambrotta with great crossing ability currently rated 87 he will go up and will cost u between 4-5 mill
CM: Nocerino (juve) due to a breakdown in relations between tiago and ranieri and the failure of almiron. Nocerino has seen a fair share of games in central midfield 14 this season curently 87 and sure to go up
    will only cost 4-5 mill
CM: Hamsik (napoli) napoli have enjoyed an incredible return to serie A, though much credit has been given to their inform striker lavezzi, hamsik could
be the real deal. He is a regular starter i cant remember seing a game where they haven't played him only 86 surely the only way is up
will cost in the region of 5-6 mill
RM:Jiminez (inter) not much was excpested of luis jiminez on arriving to inter from terrana but the chilean has provided inter with some thrilling perfomances and a couple of goals curently 87 i cant guarantee he will go up but might
    costs 4-5 mill
AM: Paolo Di Ceglie (siena) he is similar to giovinco in his style of play and lacks nothing in skill. He has enjoyed a great internatiol career with the U-21's
    only 81
and will cost no more than 2.5 mill
CF:Paloschi (milan) he is an ermenging talent from the youth system. msissio indicates that he has scored 2 goals in 2 games in the coppa italia and is due for a minor increase
    only 18 and 72
    will cost 50-75 k
CF:Forestieri (siena) this youngstar is yet to make a break through into the first team but scored his first goal a week ago for siena and is a regular bench substitute only 72
    will only cost 80k
CF: Borriello (Genoa) his goalscoring tally is tremendous 11 goals so far this season in italy only 85
    and will cost 3-4.5
CF:Pepe ( Udinese) The media focusses alot of atention on his two strikers upfront with him (di natale, Quagliarella) and so it is hard for him to make the headlines. But he has an incredible work rate though he doesn't score as much. How can he only be 84?
He wont cost much between the region of 2 and 3 mill
CF: Julio Cruz (inter) he is one half of the deadliest strike partnership in italian football with 11 goals in serie A - he is on fire
he is 33 and 91 rating so he will be hard to get
but will cost a mere 4-5 mill
CF: Francesco Tavano (livorno) Tavano endured a terrible season at valencia yet he has bounced back at livorno and has scored 10 goals in all competitions Not a bargain as such but he will be available in all world and english champs as livorno are a small side
    he is rated 88
and will cost in the region of 5-7 mill
CF: Alessio Cerci (Roma) Currently on loan to pisa , he has a good goal ratio with pisa and my good friend ahmed tells me he is sure to go up by at least 3. he is currently rated 78
    valued at 500k-1mill
CF:Balotelli (inter) another prospect part of a sucessfull youth setup . He scored twice in the coppa italia and is only 17 years old
surely one to watch out for only 72 currently
    will cost 60-80k
anyone who ive missed out please say

000ace000 got a reaction from Puluzu in Tactics against the team currently on top of the league
Re: Tactics against the team currently on top of the league
hey this is the tactic i use for 3-5-2 and it works quite well:
tackling normal (if your players are fit, put hard)
    mentality attacking
    passing style mixed
attacking style down both flanks (in your case put down left flank)
    tempo slow
    pressing all over
    counter attack, target man.
as for your left midfielder, i wouldnt play van der vaart there. if magnin is your starter on LB, keep him there and play nani. otherwise, play magnin on LM, and set a substitute option for nani to come on after 60 minutes, as Ws are usally better in attack than LMs (for me at least).

000ace000 got a reaction from jacob23 in MAJOR help needed with my BWFC
Re: MAJOR help needed with my BWFC
okay i'm no pro at the tactics, so consider my advices, but also wait for other comments.
here's how i would set up your team:
    3-5-2
    GK:Foster
    RB: Cicinho
    CB: Perea
    LB: Heinze
    RM: Diouf
CM: Joao Moutinho (free kicks) (play maker)
    CM: Lucas
    DM: Ivan Campo (captain)
    LM: Guardado (corner taker)
F: Afonso Alves (target man) (penalty)
    F: Larsson
    Subs:
    Hunt, Worns, Boateng, Cocu, Davies
3-5-2 is very effective against the common 4-4-2, which, in most cases, is the most popular formation, and the one you will have to counter the most.
    for team style, try this:
    tackling: hard
    mentality: attacking
    passing style: mixed
    attacking style: down both flanks
    tempo: slow
    pressing: all over
check counter attack, and target man.
    for transfers, you need:
a backup goalkeeper: consider joe HART (78)(man city), or RUI PATRICIO (75)(sporting)
a substitute for ivan campo: consider BAYAL SALL (80)(saint-etienne)
a winger: consider hatem BEN ARFA (86)(lyon)
these players will all rise in the next rating change.
