    koplfc got a reaction from Kroitzz in Help With Deal(s) Thread...
    Re: Help With Deal(s) Thread...
    I agree, that is steep. He's a good player but you won't make that money up on him to quickly. I'd pay max 12m, but don't get me wrong he's a talented player i just don't see him ever rising over 92 and thats in time. I expect him to rise to 90 max while at City but i guess Champions league football, international football and a regular premiership spot would help his cause in the future. Its hard to say though as he's only made a handful of appearances for City so far but no doubt about it he's a special lad.

    koplfc reacted to MaoaM in Premiership Ratings By MaoaM
    Im a bit bored, so I have decided to make a rating prediction thread for the Premier League. This is my first attempt at such a big rating prediction, So dont be too harsh. I watch alot of the games live, or at least on Match of the Day. And have looked on ESPN for alot of stats to Predict these ratings. I also know the English ratings are still a while away. But who cares
    I will not do ratings for youth players, or players out on loan at other divisions.

    TURN 27 - THE CHAMPIONSHIP CHECK UP
    Well... 17th April... It has been a Springs day which has brought... well... the end to Middlesbrough's Championship season in real life! Get In!

    However, EC5579 still promises something more spectacular (as always...). Can Coventry bounce back? Maybe there will be a few more twists and turns and jumbling perhaps in both the top 6 and bottom 3? Time will tell!

    WP_qKgvSxqc
    Coventry City vs Ipswich Town
    Positions = 1st vs 19th

    Coventry left Bristol City late Wednesday feeling very down, and maybe a few doubts are entering the back of the club's head all round. Surely they cant slip up what theyve earnt so far? They'll face a newly inspired Ipswich outfit who beat Peterborough that same night. 3 points for the visitors would be just as welcome as they would for our league leaders.

    Prediction: 3-1
    Leicester vs Queens Park Rangers
    Positions = 7th vs 2nd

    Leicester slipped out the top 6 on Wednesday. It gets no easier for them as they play host to a very interestingly strong and impressive QPR side, gunning for promotion it seems! Still anyones game here!
    Prediction: 2-2
    Newcastle United vs Sheffield United
    Positions = 5th vs 9th

    Newcastle are slowly starting to slip down the Championship league table, and worryingly for their fans and manager alike! Can the Blades take advantage of this and re-ignite their quest for the playoffs?
    Prediction: 2-1
    Swansea vs Doncaster Rovers
    Positions = 4th vs 11th

    Swansea are performing very much better than a lot of pundits were expecting at the start of the season. Pehaps the fans belived playoffs were not a bad shout for their team, but they are actually eyeing up a potential top 2 gatecrash in top of all! However a win tonight against a good Doncaster would go a way to helping their cause im sure. can Doncaster upset the bookies?
    Prediction: 2-0
    Sheffield Wednesday vs Crystal Palace
    Positions = 18th vs 17th

    The scrapper of the night! A huge match here for saving the drop! Its all at Hillsborough. Would you belive Wednesday have slipped this much after their start of the season? Seemed like yesturday and we were tipping them as potential playoff contenders! Now theyre eyeing League One!!! Alarming for them, and a defeat tonight would be only a nightmare!
    Prediction: 1-1
    Reading vs Bristol City
    Positions = 14th vs 6th

    Its a tie which now will be looked forward to for a different reason than it would at the start of the week. Samaras and Kone (yes Arouna Kone) partner in strike for Bristol City. The Robins are eyeing up a playoff berth, but they will need to do a professional job tonight, as Reading are certainly no mugs what so ever! Can The Royals do a Royal job tonight?
    Prediction: 1-1

    I think it's quite clear that everybody is against this idea mate. Not one person has come out and said they want to see this list. Just because they've not been short-listed doesn't mean that people aren't aware of them or will be aware of them in the near future. In such a competetive set-up, the scouts and managers of smaller clubs need every advantage that they can get, and you giving away potential targets is detrimental to that.

    Millwall 3 Liverpool 2
    Review

    Roy Hudd writes.........Relieved Millwall fans gave out a huge sigh of collective relief on Wednesday night as the Lions finally regained their roar with a stunning 3-2 over division 1 giants Liverpool at the New Den. After a miserable couple of weeks that has seen the South Londoners appear painfully out of place at EC106's top table, even the most fervent of die-hard supporters could be forgiven for thinking the tiny clubs fairy tale was coming to an abrupt end. A depressing run of just 2 points from 5 games had left Millwall precariously hanging on to an 8 point relegation cushion with a defeat likely to have seen that cut to 5. Liverpool on the other hand come to the capital enjoying a much happier return to the big time. Lurking in the wake of faltering leaders Arsenal, the Scousers have proved themselves unwanted visitors on their travels and after winning 8 times away from the footballing citadel which is Anfield, arrived in docklands unbeaten in three away trips.
    After a disastrous dalliance with an attacking 4-2-3-1 in the defeat at Portsmouth Lions boss Dave Izod once more returned to the South Londoners preferred battle formation of 5-4-1. The loudest cheer of the day saw the return of skipper Patrick Vierra to the holding position in a central midfield quartet of Lemonie, Martin Maartins and Paul Holt look a like, Andre Gignac. Making his first appearance in the vacated left flank position, Calindro Andre Santos moved up from full back with the uncompromising Enzo Perez opposite him on the right, and up front Ed Grafite flying solo once more with Mirko Vucinic dropped to the bench. Izod's opposite number and old division 2 adversary Tom Fields found himself with somewhat of a quandary. With a full strength squad at his disposal the tactically astute but unpredictable Fields chose to abandon the traditional 4-4-2 that failed against lowly Coventry in favour of a flexible 3-4-1-2. Making sweeping personnel changes, Fields elected a return to the fold for defender Philip Lahm in place of Per Mertesacker with Jose Bosingwa's right back berth being sacrificed for the additional attacking midfield option of England's Steven Gerrard.
    Despite a benefits agency computer error leaving thousands of Liverpool fans unable to make the trip South, a typically good natured Bermondsey crowd of just under 19000 more the made up for their disappointment at lack of away supporters to throw things at, and it was a noisy New Den that welcomed the teams arrival on the pitch. In what turned out to be an excellent advert for division 1 football the game was barely 10 minutes old as the teams contrasting styles became perfectly apparent, with an uncompromising body check by Lions defender Vassilii Berezutsky on the skillful but nevertheless horrifically deformed Frank Ribbary. With the visitors eager to demonstrate their superior technical prowess Joan Capdevila combined well with Navas to penetrate the massed Millwall midfield before once more a crunching tackle stopped the potential danger in its tracks. Come the 20 minute mark, and with the stylish Liverpool struggling to maintain possession, the stubborn Lions were rewarded with the games first breakthrough as a weak shot from Grafite somehow managed to squirm under the body of an embarrassed Pepe Reina and into the visitors net. The unexpected gift served as a signal for the Lions to press forward and urged on by the high pitched screams of manager Izod, the Lions closed in on an early kill and amazingly doubled their lead just 3 minutes from the restart as unmarked French man Fabian Lemonie stole in behind the dozing Terry to blast home from 15 yards out past the stunned Riena. With Liverpool clearly knocked out of their stride the ruthless Lions poured forward and 7 minutes after the goal Grafite capped an incredible 10 minute spell, receiving the ball wide before cutting inside of the unfortunate Terry and unleashing a stunning curled effort past the unsighted Reina. In keeping with the quality of football on show the Brazilians brace finally jolted the Liverpool machine back into gear and much to their credit they immediately cut the deficit to 2 as an incisive passing movement between Essein and De Rossi dissected the Lions rear-guard before falling to the forward running Eto, who made no mistake past the deserted Craig Gordan in the hosts goal. Much to the despair of the silent crowd the game continued to lurch back toward Liverpool, mustered by the lung bursting runs of Gerrard the Scousers finished strongly and it came as no surprise that with just 7 minutes left of the half, the native Liverpudlians perseverance was rewarded as he slammed home his 11 goal of the season with an early strike off of Ribary's raking cross field ball.

    An embarrassed Pepe Reina after his first half blunder

    Sensing that they were gaining a potentially match winning momentum, Scouse Supremo Fields used the half time tea break to hastily reform his troops into an attacking 4-3-2 -1 and reinforcing the rampaging Gerrard by swapping goal scorer Eto for attacking midfielder David Silva. Happily for the Lions the half time respite allowed them to once more regain their defensive resolve, and returning to their disciplined holding approach they started the second period the brighter of the two teams. Seeking quantity over quality the South Londoners increasingly retained the ball, and with the defense superbly marshaled by Dario ' THE ROMAN ' Dainelli slowly began to exploit the frustrated Liverpool midfield. Eleven minutes into the half the on rushing Andre Santos's left foot screamer brought a magnificent stop by Reina before Belgie Maartin Martins really should have done better after rounding two defenders before blasting well wide. Not to be out done at the other end, Craig Gordon reinforced his own growing reputation with a series of fine saves from first Silva and then the unusually ineffective Zaltan Ibrahimovic. Come the 75th minute Izod looked to close the victory and in a raft of substitutions replaced the tiring Grafite with Mirko Vukinic and bolstered the midfield by interchanging Giganc and Lemoine for Ahumada and Rosina. Withdrawing back into their own half the re-energized Lions happily soaked up the half hearted Liverpool advances and after a another fine stop by Gordon could have sealed the victory if not for the wasteful Vucinic panicked finish when found unattended by a upfield punt by Da Silva. The deserved victory sees the Lions remain in 12th but vitally retaining an 8 point lead on 17th placed Wigan and increasing the gap to 13th placed Fulham to 3 points. Next up for the Lions a short trip north of the water to face champions elect Arsenal.
    Frankie Says........What a super result and a well deserved victory against a top team, 3 more points and we should be safe..

    "Don't buy Kone" urges Coll

    Kone is "sub standard" according to Pompey boss Coll
    Portsmouth manager Patrick Coll has urged fellow Scotsman and Fulham manager Lewis Scorgie not to buy Arouna Kone from Swansea as he believes he doesn't have the quality to play in the top tier of English football.
    Rumours have been flying about that Kone, who has scored 15 goals in 17 games for the Welsh club, will join the London outfit for around £8.2 million when the player's transfer ban runs out tomorrow. However, the Portsmouth boss says that he doesn't believe that Kone is good enough for Division 1 football and there are much better options elsewhere.
    Talking to Portsmouth TV this morning Coll stated;

    Peterborough shown by teen sensation
    2 - 1
    Date: 14th April 2010 Venue: Portman Road
    Attendance: 14,709 Referee: William Collum

    Peterborough suffered there thirteenth defeat in the league this season last night as a Connor Wikcham brace saw the Posh go back to Cambridgeshire in disappointment.
    Fraizer Campbell made his club debut but didn't make any difference to the result as the 22 year old has alot of expectations on his shoulders after his mid week move to Peterborough.
    Peterborough began on the back foot as Ipswich pressed from the kick off and came close just before the second minute mark but midfielder Danny Guthrie managed to divert it out for a corner. However, the resulting corner lead to the opening goal, the corner was wiped in by Milan Badelj and was then headed into the path of Ipswich youngster Connor Wickham who cut inside the box and rifled home a shot straight past Kuszczak in the Posh goal. Peterborough new boy Fraizer Campbell could of brought the scores level around the thirteenth minute mark but the 22 year olds lob attempt landed on the top of the goal. This chance was followed by another great opportunity for Peterborough to grab an equalizer when Mike Williamson broke clear of the Ipswich defense only for his touch to be over hit and leaped on by the out rushing Geoffrey Jourdren. Just after the half hour mark Ipswich doubled there lead, another shot from teenager Connor Wickham was put into another goal from six yards out.
    Peterborough could of pulled themselves back into the game minutes into the second period, Gregory Sertic smashing a strike towards goal but to see if clip the cross bar and go over. Just after the hour mark Tomlins made two changes taking off both Sedric Van der Gun and Fraizer Campbell and bringing on Jobi McAnuff and Shane Long. Minutes after the change Ivan Rakitic was shown his way after receiving a red card for abusing language towards the referee and for kicking the ball away in disgust. This gave Peterborough an advantage and they took there advantage and ten minutes later they scored, Shane Long teeing the ball up for Krisztián Nemeth to hammer the ball home. Peterborough nearly grabbed the equalizer four minutes from time but George Boyd couldn't find a way past the goal keeper with his effort on goal.
    Wickham hits brace as he begins his Ipswich tally

    He's got a chance, if i was you in that deal try and ask for 20m, Ronaldinho and Pato. That deal would be class. Pato could reach 94+ in the future if he moves away from the San Siro. On the Ronaldinho to 95 question, he could get 95 but its 50/50.

    Midfield pair Tettey and Ducasse set for Fulham
    Fulham have bolstered their midfield with the double capture of Pierre Ducasse and Tettey. 22-year-old Ducasse is held in high regards by Fulham's manager Caleb. Said Caleb to the media, "Ducasse is someone I like very much. He is strong in the tackle and he has a very powerful shot on him. He looks to be an interesting youngster and I can see him becoming a key player for us in the near future."
    The deal bringing Ducasse to England is thought to be in the region of £3.8m. Norwegian international Alexander Tettey meanwhile signs for a deal believed to be in excess of £4m. "I'm overjoyed at the chance to play in one of the world's top leagues. I believe I have what it takes to succeed at Fulham and I'll like to thank Caleb for giving me the opportunity to prove myself."
    Meanwhile in related news, Senegalese youngster Mame Diouf and Cameroonian defender Chedjou is also set to sign from Manchester City, with out-of-favor Carlton Cole going the other way.

    Cole To Undergo City Medical?

    Rumours are flying around the papers this morning as it is believed that Carlton Cole is currently undergoing a medical at Eastlands and is set to complete a move there later today.

    The English forward has been a long term target for City manager Bail but with the previous Fulham manager determined to keep him the transfer has never taken place. But now that Cale has been appointed at Craven Cottage it is believed City have had an accpeted bid for Cole who is out of favour for a starting position in London.

    Rumours are speculating that City could use Diouf and Chedjou in the deal who have had little chances to prove themselves in Manchester and manager Bail recently placed Chedjou on the transfer list with an immediant bid from Lille the Cameroon internationl's previous team.

    And with England struggling to secure a place at the world cup could Carlton Cole make an impact at City and give his services to his country? All of these questions will be answered in the next 24hours when we will find out if these rumours are true.

    Cole's ex team mate Inler completed his move to City today and we asked Inler a few questions regarding these rumours and this is what he had to say 'Cole is a great player and friend of mine, we get on very well together and yes I would love him to move to City alongside me again, I beleive he would give alot to the team and with his chances very limited at Fulham I think the chances of him moving are very high'

    Doncaster Rovers 1-0 Charlton Athletic
    Rovers halt Addicks' promotion charge

    Colotto celebrates his early goal
    Diego Colotto fired a spectacular volley to help deliver a seemingly fatal blow to Charlton's Division Two automatic promotion hope at Keepmoat Stadium. The former Deportivo defender, making his eleventh league start since joining from the Spanish club two months ago, smashed home the winning goal from outside the area in the third minute. The thunderbolt glides just inside the far post and, though Marco Amelia appeared to react slowly, it was hit with such an accuracy that he had little chance.
    Rovers maintained the single goal lead throughout the game which saw Charlton failed to break down the host's stubborn defence. Just as important, victory propelled them right back into contention for the play-off group spot and they are keeping a close gap with fourth-placed Birmingham City by only goal difference. It was just the response manager Navin Ramkhelawon was hoping for after Saturday's defeat by Preston North End.
    There was little sign of tired legs among the Rovers defenders, who now bolstered with former Charlton defender, Jan Vertonghen, who is on loan from Huddersfield Town. They, however, rode their luck at times with Radamel Falcao missing one good chance shortly after the interval. The defeat put Charlton on seven-point gap with second-placed Huddersfield and, with eight matches left, Charlton have little chance of ending their four-season wait for a return to the Division One this season.

    TURN 26 - THE CHAMPIONSHIP CHECK UP
    Points at this stage of the season are priceless to just about all of our Championship teams, but for very different reasons. Would Coventry bite your hand off for title points? As would QPR? Would Newcastle dearly love to bite your ears off for points to break their own ways back just into the top 2? I think you can count Swansea, and maybe Watford in that bracket too! Leicester, Boro, Bristol City, Sheffield United, and even Preston or Doncaster would take a hand and a leg for playoff push points im sure!

    Theres another end of this spectrum though. Relegation. Ipswich, Cardiff, Shorpe, Sheffield Wednesday, Blackpool, and dare I even say West Brom! They'd all take your entire body for survival Im sure Lets preview the fun and games for tonight

    Bristol City vs Coventry City
    Positions = 8th vs 1st

    Coventry will be thinking that if they can go a nice run of wins now, they could seal at least promotion back into the big time! But Bristol City are their hosts tonight, and they have different ideas. They need points to get right back into the playoffs hunt.

    Prediction: 1-3
    Queens Park Rangers vs Preston North End
    Positions = 2nd vs 10th

    It would be wrong to ignore the work done at Loftus Road so far this season. They are making great progression, and little peopel would predict them to be where they are now in the table - 2nd spot. Can they stay there though? They will be tested through in through out though. Maybe we'll elarn more about their resolve tonight? A Preston side inspired by a new manager, and they arent far off the top 6 themselves!
    Prediction: 2-1
    Sheffield United vs Swansea City
    Positions = 9th vs 5th

    A huge game is on at Bramall Lane tonight between two fierce rival managers. Its a game which can do wonders for one team, but nightmares tonight for the other. Its a tight call!
    Prediction: 1-1
    Watford vs Newcastle
    Positions = 4th vs 3rd

    2 Good sides. Newcastle were tipped to boss the league start of season. These games need to be won though to even stay in taked with the top 2! Waford are one of the suprise packages this season - a good top 6 placing. can they begin their quest in cementing it tonight?
    Prediction: 3-2
    Ipswich vs Peterborough United
    Positions = 19th vs 11th

    Can the Posh still make this a posh season - and claim a top 6 place??? Ipswich are a team in desperate need of points lingering in the bottom 3!
    Prediction: 1-2

    Well my opinion might be bias as I'm a Liverpool fan, but i'd keep Masherano for the time being, he's one of Liverpools best players. But logically go Cambiasso, he's a safe 95 even if he is 4 years older. Wait for some other opinions though.
