  1. Re: Benik Afobe - 16 Year Old Wonderkid Picked up a knee injury a couple of weeks ago. Should be available again this weekend. He will probably be on the bench (Huddersfield V Oldham). Before his injury he was making brief substitute appearances for Town. Chances may be limited now that Town have resigned Danny Cadamarteri.
  2. Re: Getting a bit flowered off with this game Unfortunately until SM introduce max squad sizes. You will have this problem. Too many managers hoard players building an army not a football squad. What you will also find is that unmanaged clubs have been stripped to the minimum no. of players. So you can't buy anyone from them. Apart from that it is a good game.
  3. Re: Next Change [quote Latest SM Twitter quote regarding which league is to be reviewed next: Quote: we will announce this later in the week or early next week. From what I can tell Australia seems to be finished, so we might have a little break without ratings now. ] The whole rating system is a shambles now. There is no structure to it anymore. We have long breaks without any changes, when leagues like Russia and Brazil have finished and could be reviewed. The last review for England league one was 15 months ago however a few individual players have managed to get a rise (eg Charlie Austin).
  4. Re: Benik Afobe - 16 Year Old Wonderkid Last Week he joined Huddersfield Town on a months loan and came off the bench for the last 20 mins in 2-0 victory at Sheff Wed and looked good. Played a full game on Sat in FA Cup at Cambridge. He scored 2 goals and set one up for Jordan Rhodes in the JP Trophy on Tuesday away at Rotherham. He was signed due to 3 match ban imposed on Alan Lee. Lee will be available again this weekend. It will be interesting to see whether Afobe will keep his place in the starting eleven.
  5. Re: 3M 85+ rated Mid/Def Needed Try Kris Stadsgaard of Malaga. CB 25 yo 85 rated likely to rise to 87 by the end of the season. I bought him for 2.8M in GC80 for my Grimsby team.
  6. Re: EC 4761- The challenge to prove you are the best! Transfer/Gossip Thread I think there is a few left. I am still going strong. Enjoying our duel at the top of Div 3.
  7. Re: EC 4761- The challenge to prove you are the best! Transfer/Gossip Thread It looks like we have got some company from a couple of "challengers" from Div 4 including the creator of the challenger.
  8. Re: EC 4761- The challenge to prove you are the best! Transfer/Gossip Thread No lost final in a penalty shoot- out. My third penalty shoot out I have been involved in this season and yes you guessed it the third one I have lost!!! The sly and dog bit I can handle but not the old? A bit too close to the truth for my liking.
  9. Re: EC 4761- The challenge to prove you are the best! Transfer/Gossip Thread I played my reserve team for the last 4 games. To make sure my first team were ok for the play-offs. The play off dates are stupid. You play the semi two days after season finishes and the final two days later. No time to get players fit. If it matters? All the best for next season.
  10. Re: EC 4761- The challenge to prove you are the best! Transfer/Gossip Thread Yes we both saw this one coming. I have got a terrible record in play offs. So I don't hold out much hope.
  11. Re: EC 4761- The challenge to prove you are the best! Transfer/Gossip Thread i am sorry to hear you are leaving. I have enjoyed our duels together and hoped we would be battling our way to the top league together. All the best.
  12. Re: ITV or BBC Sure you have to pay but at least Sky plough back money back into the game. The Premier league, Super league, T20 cricket, Darts premier league wouldn't be the great competitions they are without Sky investment. What have ITV and BBC even done for sport in this country. I for one don't mind paying £1.50 a day to be able to watch top quality sport. Sky don't go for adverts with England on the attack and about to score a goal in the World Cup like ITV did last saturday!!!!!!!
  13. Re: ITV or BBC Neither!! Give it to Sky. They are the only TV company that know how to cover sports properly.
  14. Re: Help with 5-3-2 formation? I play this formation away from home using full backs as the wide men with back arrows on them. I use AM/Wingers as the midfield advanced 2, with forward wide arrows. My win percentage has gone up greatly since using this formation. Not as successful at home though. Hard, Defensive, Short, Mixed.
  15. Re: EC 4761- The challenge to prove you are the best! Transfer/Gossip Thread Strange thing!!! That guy had Yeovil in Division 4 and didn't get anywhere with them. He pops up with Ipswich in this division this season.
  16. Re: EC 4761- The challenge to prove you are the best! Transfer/Gossip Thread Temporary setback!!! Back to winning ways tonight to go third in the league. Looks like we are fighting for play-off spots. I can't see the top two throwing it away.
  17. Re: EC 4761- The challenge to prove you are the best! Transfer/Gossip Thread Unlimited amount of free agents with a real club. 3 free agents without a club. Any free agents must be rated 80 or below.
  18. Re: EC 4761- The challenge to prove you are the best! Transfer/Gossip Thread I think something has changed with the match engine. I have had some weird results this season. Lost at home 4-3 three times. But had some thumping wins away from home!!!
  19. Re: English Championship 2933 Discussion Thread Just taken Birmingham City. Any extra rules in place?
  20. Re: EC 4761- The challenge to prove you are the best! Transfer/Gossip Thread Thanks for pointing that out!!!! But its not how you start the season but how you finish it. As my run in last season proved. 8 straight wins to steal the title from Walsall and Bury.
  21. Re: EC 4761- The challenge to prove you are the best! Transfer/Gossip Thread I intend to carry on in the challenge. It's a shame the creator is a quitter!!! I think there are still two managers in Division 4.
  22. Re: Hrvatska', Chipolopolo, & Leclerc Russian & Ukrainian Ratings and Analysis Potential big riser in Russian Premier league this season. Vladimir Dyadyun 21 y.o 78 rating CF. He is on loan at Spartak Nalchik from Rubin and has started all 4 games this season and scored 4 goals and his club are sitting top of the league all be it after only 4 matches. He can be picked up for less than a million in most set ups if anybody fancies taking a punt.
  23. Re: Best 77 rated player riser? Samba Sow RC Lens 77- 84 or 85 Starts in all matches and played in African Nations for Mali.
  24. Re: EC 4761- The challenge to prove you are the best! Transfer/Gossip Thread The play offs are difficult because player fitness becomes an issue with 3 games in 4 days!!!
  25. Re: EC 4761- The challenge to prove you are the best! Transfer/Gossip Thread Thanks. It was good to finish above non challenge managers with the obvious advantages they had. Good luck in the Play offs. I would be nice to have a fellow challenger in Division 3.
