  4. I think a tick box that would show just players that are available at external clubs. SM have added the free agent box so you can just search for them so I feel this would be a nice addition.
  5. I noticed in one of my gameworld that a manager is about to loose a lot of his players for cash amounts in a GC due to wage concerns reaching level 5. However he is on holiday mode so probably not log on to offer a new contract so this team will be ruined. To stop this from happening I propose that if you enter holiday mode if you players develop concerns due to wages they should be automatically offered a new contract.
  6. Re: Areas to improve? You first team is fine, you should try and get some decent back up in. Try and get a couple of players around 87-88 in that have potential to rise such as Nagatomo, Jones, Smalling or James Rodriguez are a few of the top of my head.
  7. Well I am looking to do a deal which will see me give two of my players for one of the other managers player and then I buy another of his for cash, the two deals I believe are fair but then I hit a problem when I don't have enough cash to buy the other player until I sell of some of my unwanted players. I then explained this to the manager to say to him I will have to delay the deal and then he replied "put your rubbish players up for sale and then my friend will pay over the top for them." I said I will think about it and he then said "just put them up and leave the rest to me." Would this be cheating as I am leaning towards the side that it is cheating and I wouldn't want anything to happen to me as the team involved is my favourite on SM so should I pull the plug?
  8. Re: Official Arsenal Thread It was indeed and I don't think I was the only one who thought it was either;) I like it
  9. Re: Official Arsenal Thread I feel sorry for Arsenal fans, they have had them 8-2 jokes 4 3 weeks now:p
  10. Re: Toronto FC - The Real MLS Match Reports and Transfer News Toronto sign two players with more said to be close to joining Toronto have confirmed the signing of young Argentine star Erik Lamela Canadian MLS outfit Toronto FC have once again shocked the footballing world with the signing of another top young signing. Erik Lamela, formerly of River Plate and AS Roma agreed a deal earlier with the Canadian side worth around £21,450 per Turn. Lamela will be the key man in the Toronto team as David Francis looks to mount a title challenge. The second completed transfer was of Jamaican born Simeon Jackson from Norwich City with Nicholas Lindsay and Elbekay Bouchiba heading to Norfolk to join up with the Canaries. Although Jackson was born in Jamaica he qualified for Canadian citizenship by virtue of his years of residence there as a child, and currently has twenty-one caps for Canada, scoring three times. Due to him being a Canadian international he will not take up a foreign spot so he is seen as a great signing. New Toronto signing in action for the Canadian national side As well as the signings of Lamela and Jackson, Toronto or also said to be close to signing two more players. One of them is Blackburn Rovers Canadian winger David 'Junior' Hoilett. The winger who can also operate as a striker is said to be undergoing a medical at a Toronto hospital and is said to be delighted with the prospect of being able to return to his homeland. The second player who is also undergoing a medical is Marc-André Ter Stega. The German goalkeeper is keen to test himself in a different style of football and he believes a move to the MLS will help him improve as a player. The German youngster is likely to take the number one jersey upon the confirmation of his transfer.
  11. Re: MLS league Completed some more signings at Toronto: Pleased with this signing as he is a great talent and I am getting him for a direct swap for one of my foreign players. Glad to have got Jackson and he will be a vital part of my team and hopefully he can get a decent little rise in the next premiership ratings. Great signing for Toronto, he has recently stated he wants to play for the Country of his birth which is Canada despite his dad wanting him to play for Jamaica. Decided to use one of my foreign player slots to bring in a decent young keeper who should get a decent rise also. Also got a bid accepted with competition for USA striker Robbie Findley, hopefully I can get him as he would be a great signing for me and a great strike partner for Jackson.
  12. Re: Toronto FC - The Real MLS Match Reports and Transfer News Another Yound Lion heads to Canada Big things are expected from young Ross Barkley Canadian side Toronto FC have pulled off another spectacular transfer, with the signing of Ross Barkley from Everton for £1m and Leandre Griffit heading to Merseyside to join up with the Toffees. Cash strapped Everton could not turn down the offer especially with a loan repayment that was soon due so they had no choice but sell one of their best youth products. The fee is quite large for a player who is expected to join fellow Englishman Oxlade-Chamberlain in Luis Figo's youth team, however David Francis believes his team have managed to grab themselves a bargain with the signing of Barkley and he believes the youngster will get chances in the first team once he has settled into life in Canada.
  13. Re: MLS league I don't get why you put all the smileys:o But he wasn't the only player I bidded for I have accepted bids on Barkley and Lamela all involving foreign players leaving my team.
  14. Re: MLS league I also have 13:( But I am looking on getting rid of them in some deals over the next couple of days. However I had 12 when I joined the club and if all my transfers go through I should have 9 tomorrow and then I will get rid of some more to get in to the allowed amount. EDIT: He only has 11?
  15. Re: MLS league Yes but it isn't hard to just look at the wages, to late now the deal has gone through. Maybe we should have a new rule in place?
  16. Re: Toronto FC - The Real MLS Match Reports and Transfer News German Star Told He Will Have to Leave Torsten Frings has been told to pack his bags by David Francis To the surprise of many Toronto fans and the rest of the MLS, former German central midfielder Torsten Frings has been made available to transfer as manager David Francis looks for funds to strengthen his squad ahead of the new MLS season. Frings who has only made 7 appearances for the Toronto first team since arriving from Bundesliga side Werder Bremen is said to be surprised with his new managers decision but he has stated that a move another MLS club is a doubt and a move back to Europe is much more likely. Francis reasoning for wanting to sell his star man was that his team was to unbalanced and by getting a good fee for for Frings would allow him to bring in two or three good players who will add greater depth to the first team. However he has stated the players that they are looking to bring in have great potential and should provide great entertainment for the Toronto fans.
  17. Re: Transfer budget !!!!! He can if it is P/E. The best thing he can do is sell one of his better players for a player+cash/another player then he can sell off his worst players and invest in some risers to boost his squad numbers and make him some money.
  18. Re: MLS league Who is the Vancouver manager? As it seems he is breaking the rules already. Yet he has bid for 29 year old 88 rated Jermaine Jones who is on £27,900 per Turn.
  19. Re: Toronto FC - The Real MLS Match Reports and Transfer News Toronto Unveil English Wonderkid Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is presented to the Canadian media Yesterday it was revealed that new Toronto head scout Peter Beardsley had set his team the task of finding some possible future stars for a small price and it looks like they have already found a gem. Young Englishman Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has signed for a bargain fee of around £50,000, which is a price that has shocked many around the footballing world as the young midfielder is tipped to be a future star for the national team. Although he has massive potential it is unlikely that he will see massive amounts of first team action as manager David Francis believes he needs more experience before he can break into the first team so he is likely to spend a season or two in the youth team under the guidance of former Ballon d'Or winner Luis Figo.
  20. Re: MLS league I only bid for some of my targets as other people had bid for them so I didn't want to miss out on them.
  21. Re: MLS league I have decided to make my own thread for M/R and other things about Toronto. For anyone who is interested, here is the thread: http://forum.soccermanager.com/showthread.php?p=1711561#post1711561

Sheedy who scored the most goals from free kicks in the English league during the 80's is said to be excited about working with players such as Torsten Frings. However his task will be made difficult due to the restrictions on foreign players but he has vowed to find a few gems.
  23. Re: Toronto FC - The Real MLS Match Reports and Transfer News Francis Named Toronto Manager Francis is unveiled to the Toronto fans and has vowed to bring success Toronto FC have today shocked the MLS today with the appointment of relatively unknown Englishman David Francis as their manager. The Canadian side made the decision to go across the pond in search of a new manager as they felt there was a lack of talented managers in North America. Francis will have a tricky job ahead of him as there are strict rules in this newly formed league that would give the best managers a headache. Francis has told his squad that he will asses them over the next couple of days before deciding who he wants to move on, however he will have to move quickly as their is a deadline for transfers that slams shut on turn three. Francis who has previously worked as a coach for a number of English teams has vowed to use his massive amount of contacts to bring the best quality players available to the Canadian side.
  24. I have been wanting to start a new Match Report thread for a while after my last one was ruined due to there being cheaters in the league which lead me to quit the team. I have decided to do reports on a new Toronto FC team I have picked up in a new set up that has plenty of other members from the forum in called "The Real MLS". Please could you not post on this thread and if you have any questions at all just drop me a PM/VM Enjoy, David
