  11. Re: West Ham United - I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles West Ham look to Youth Over Experience German Wonderkid Mario Gotze signs for the Hammers West Ham have shocked the football world today with the signing of four new players. The most notable being young German star Mario Gotze who has set the Bundesliga a light this season and in doing so helping Borussia Dortmund to the title. Big things are expected of the youngster and had been tracked by some of the bigger clubs in England such as both Manchester clubs and Arsenal, however he said that the chance to work with Pep Guardiola was a chance he couldn't turn down. The youngster is set to join in a deal worth around £14.3m. The second signing was German born Ghanaian international Kevin-Prince Boateng who signs from Milan for £8.0m. Boateng having played for Tottenham and Portsmouth hopes to make it third time lucky in England and hopes that he can continue his impressive form that he has been on since the World Cup last summer. New signing Boateng hoping to be a big success in England They have also confirmed the signings of Leandro Damiao and Carlos Casemiro for £3.1m and £3.3m respectively. Big things are expected from the duo, however they are likely to have limited game time due to the Hammers having better players in that position but it is likely they will get the odd substitute appearance and cup games.
  12. Re: West Ham United - I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles Guardiola Swaps Catalonia for West London Guardiola looking for a new challenge After Sam Allardyce resigned as West Ham manager earlier this week questions have been asked about who would take the West Ham job. After all it is hardly the most attractive job in world football however it would be the perfect job for an aspiring manager who is looking for a huge challenge as West Ham have some fantastic players in Nani and Sakho but they have a team of underachievers who are low on confidence. However after a couple of days of looking for a new manager, the West Ham owners have shocked the world by appointing Josep Guardiola as the new club manager. Guardiola has always liked the idea of living in London and when the West Ham owners offered him the chance to manage in the city he couldn't refuse the offer. He said he is extremely sad to leave Barcelona were he is considered a legend however after winning everything he could have won with them he felt it was time to move on and enter a new chapter in his life.
  13. Well I started a M/R thread with a Wolfsburg team a couple of weeks ago but the league was ruined by cheaters so I decided to leave it. So I thought I would start a new thread with a West Ham United a picked up a couple of days ago in an oldish English Championship. Like in real life they have been relegated into the second division so it will be a good challenge for me.

  15. Re: VfL Wolfsburg - "Future World Beaters" Another Three Join The Wolfsburg Revolution Koo has been shown the exit to make way for new talent It has been another busy day in the transfer market for ambitious German side Wolfsburg. It has seen four players leave the club however they were quickly replaced with three new arrivals, in what is an extremely exciting day for the Wolfsburg following. The first to join was young English star Connor Wickham who signed for £1.4m, with Kevin Wolze and Sebastian Schindzielorz thrown into the deal to help ease Ipswich with the loss of Wickham. He isn't expected to play a major part in the league however he is expected to lead the line in Wolfsburg cup campaigns this season. Wolfsburg managed to beat off Barcelona and Arsenal for the signature of Wickham as he believes he would get more opportunities at the German club. New Wolfsburg prospect Wickham in international action The next signing to join Wolfsburg was Venezuelan striker Salomón Rondon who signs for £500,000 and Ashkan Dejagah from Spanish side Malaga CF. Rondon impressed clubs around the world as he put in many impressive performances last season for Malaga in a season that had little highs in it. The final signing was Mehdi Benatia from Udinese in a straight swap for Korean star Ja-Cheol Koo. The centre back from Morocco is expected to act as a back up to Christopher Samba and Captain Thomas Vermaelen.

  21. Re: VfL Wolfsburg - "Future World Beaters" A Share of Points in Brazil São Paulo 2 - 2 VfL Wolfsburg R.DIEGO 6 R.SOUTO 40, 86 P.HELMES 89 Wolfsburg started their league campaign with a 2-2 draw with away to São Paulo. The game stared brightly for the German side when on his return to his homeland playmaker, Diego Ribas latched onto a through ball and rounded the opposing 'keeper and slotted it into an empty net. Wolfsburg seemed content with the 1-0 land they became more and more pinned down in their own half. They were doing a good job of it until five minutes before the break when Rodrigo Souto scored an absolutely outstanding goal from thirty five yards out, which no goalkeeper in the world could have saved. Wolfsburg's Diego celebrating his opener The second half continued as the first finished, Sao Paulo were putting mass amounts of pressure on Wolfsburg, yet they couldn't find the back the net. The closest they came to taking the lead was a thirty yard attempt from the legend known as Rivaldo which stung the palms of 'keeper Diego Benaglio. Despite all the pressure from Sao Paulo, it was Wolfsburg who came closet to scoring when Anunciado Josue hit the post after he managed to poke an effort goal bound after a scramble in the area. However the Brazilian side managed to find a breakthrough when Rodrigo Souto managed to get his head on a dangerous cross from Luis Fabiano. It looked as if Wolfsburg were going to be heading back over the Atlantic empty handed until German striker Patrick Helmes picked up the ball on the edge of the box and curled it around the opposition 'keeper Rodrigo Ceni to give the Germans a share of the points. Helmes scores a late equalizer to rescue a point Overall Wolfsburg manager David Francis is said to be extremely happy with his teams result and especially with the performance of Belgian defender Thomas Vermaelen who picked up the man of the match award on his debut. Next up for Wolfsburg is a home game against big spending Manchester City, were Francis will be looking for his first win.
