  1. Re: Guess at next leagues to be reviewed, & discuss SM's review policy........ can get players added or pictures changed quickly, for that soccerwiki is great. However, player rating changes lol no. Never had one reviewed that I've suggested, and it's not like I suggest ridiculous ones, just small rises to players who deserve them.
  2. Re: Guess at next leagues to be reviewed, & discuss SM's review policy........ I keep logging in hoping one of my 42 Eredivisie players due a rise will be done but no, they're really passing off the 10 or so changes they made to that league as their review. This is where someone says "if you want changes, submit them". Trust me, I have. This is depressing, I used to look forward to the Eredivisie ratings more than my own birthday
  3. Re: Guess at next leagues to be reviewed, & discuss SM's review policy........ Tbf Dan, people in here aren't moaning about minuscule stupid things like design layouts and adding youth players to the loan list. They're complaining about a change to literally the biggest aspect of the game, the rating system. I'd suggest it's entirely justified and comparisons to the trivial issues you mention are disingenuous. And Dermo is suggesting we go back to guessing what league is done next but how can we when leagues aren't even properly being done? The Eredivisie rating changes saw ratings of 2/3 Ajax players, 2/3 Feyenoord players, 2/3 Heracles players, a VVV player, an FC Twente player, Dries Mertens and that was it. Eredivisie ratings apparently done.

  5. Re: Guess at next leagues to be reviewed, & discuss SM's review policy........ What happened to the Eredivisie ratings? Rated about 12 players across the league and moved on to Portugal. Absolutely ridiculous. You can't even claim it's down to soccerwiki not being updated because I spend half my time on there suggesting changes for players and I know I'm not along (Siem de Jong's page tells me that). Completely sapped my love for the game. I have 42 Eredivisie players of which I'd say 30-35 are due a rise yet the league is apparently finished in ratings and god knows when those players will rise. I miss logging in every morning and knowing what clubs would be rated. It was consistent, reliable, SENSIBLE. You don't realise it SM, but you are truly pushing away the most dedicated players of the game. I'm sure you don't care, because soccerwiki probably has ads that make money, but maybe you will care when gameworld after gameworld disappears due to having no managers in them.
  6. Re: -||Eredivisie Ratings II - 12/13 Winter Predictions Up! - by BRNL||- The way they've rated the eredivisie is horribly bad and it doesnt look like they're still doing it. I hate these new changes to how they rate.

  8. Re: Guess at next leagues to be reviewed, & discuss SM's review policy........ My post has already been lost in the mess. SM Devs. I am posting as someone who has been part of a gameworld that has had 80 active managers at all times since its inception 4+ years ago. 80 managers who log on everyday. 80 managers who've noticed trends before this forum has even come close to it, managers who've scouted the next big thing before the kid has laced his football boots up. We've analysed the game and in some cases, we've actually done work to improve the game. With every change that has come, we've been tentative but tried to work around it however soccerwiki has really tested us for the reasons I mentioned in my earlier post. The charm of the game has gone and while I understand you have the perfect business model by charging people for SM but getting everything from SW, it's not a very fan-friendly one and at the end of the day isn't that was SM was supposed to be about? A site to alleviate boredom at work, a simple but well thought out game? I have screenshots of SM from 4 years ago and I really miss it. There've been many positive changes but this new ratings thing is just plain terrible. The thing is you'll either ignore this or answer it with a businessy response because it doesn't matter what I say. It doesn't matter what someone who contributes heavily to this forum, as well as to the game (I do French and Dutch translations) thinks. Not when there's money to be made. This is going to lead to SM probably being better for you, the Devs. For the people who make money from it. You'll probably get more users too. But you're essentially telling all the true fans who've stuck with the game since the beginning that their opinion is worthless and they're not needed. Hopefully this doesn't kill the game entirely. I'm now going to go ask soccerwiiki to change Felipe Melo to a GK. Kyle Walker got a change to RM for playing one game there, Melo deserves similar treatment.
  9. Re: Guess at next leagues to be reviewed, & discuss SM's review policy........ Rant imminent. Soccerwiki has been a plague on this game. While it's a good standalone idea, it should never have been joined with SM in the way it has. Since then we've seen ludicrous rating changes, the destruction of the rating schedule and the introduction of random ratings. There was a time when rises for players felt like a massive thing. It was done perfectly. Thomas Muller had to dominate in a World Cup to get 91, now Neymar gets it for playing well in a league that SM never rated highly until soccerwiki showed up. Samuel Umtiti just rose +6 despite the fact that he has only played one third of Lyon's games. That's complete nonsense, back before SW it would have taken him two changes to get there. The old rating system was calm and well thought out. A player not only had to earn his rating, he had to sustain it. If a 75 rated player started playing every week for Man Utd he'd rise to 80, then 83, then 86, 88, 90. It would take a year, maybe more for him to be first team rating and thus if he fell out of form during the process, SM could be sensible. By that I mean that if, when he hits 88, he starts playing terribly then SM hadn't just given him a 90 because he's a hyped young player so it doesnt look silly. Now it seems like once a player is good in Fifa, Football Manager or included in "Best 100 Young Players" lists, he's guaranteed to get a massive rating increase. Not to mention the utterly ludicrous new system of implementing position changes after the player plays ONE match in that position. ONE match. I remember 2/3 years ago SM telling me that one of my players couldnt have a position change because he hadn't played there enough, and he had played 15+ times. It's absolutely pathetic. Change John O'Shea, Felipe Melo and Phil Jagielka to "GK" if one game equals being proficient at that position. Nonsense. Finally, the rating structure. Farcical. Removing a schedule makes it literally impossible to predict and sign risers, essentially making a wonderful effort to destroy a huge aspect of SM. There's also the issue of inconsistent ratings when one player from one club in one country gets a rise because someone on soccerwiki saw him in a 100 Best Young Players list and decides to give him a random increase. I've actually benefitted from this and it still annoys me. Jores Okore got a random rise recently but my other Danish league players remain untouched. It also makes it difficult to be excited. The big league change cycle coming around was always greeted with much anticipation in my GW. I'm going to sound pathetic but meh; waking up I was always diving for my phone/computer to see who'd risen or who'd dropped. Now there's been no changes, bar some Botswana ones since Saturday. Summary: Not everything has to change SM. You're implementing changes for the sake of implementing changes. The game was perfect, you're slowly making it convoluted and destroying what made it beautiful - its simplicity.

  11. Re: -||Eredivisie Ratings II - End of Season Ratings Up! - by BRNL||- Brood, do you watch the Eredivisie? De Jong has been better than Eriksen this season. He's not a better player but Eriksen has been very quiet for whatever reason. De Jong, however, has earned a Dutch call-up from his performances. and you talking up Mihaylov reeks of someone who doesnt watch him weekly. He has cost us so many points this season that genuinely, I cant wait until his overhyped TV saves are signed up by someone else. I mean that too. He makes overdramatic super saves that everyone thinks WOW! This guy is amazing! and then screws up the most simple saves. Infuriating. So non-Twente fans think wow, look at that guy while Twente fans think "oh yay, Mihaylov made another massive mistake"
  12. Re: -||Eredivisie Ratings II - End of Season Ratings Up! - by BRNL||- Hey guys, missed the ratings these times. Twente fan here. Ridiculous decision to rise Mihaylov to 88 while dropping Brama to 88. Brama has been one of our few very good players this year while Mihaylov (and Douglas) have been liabilities. Very strange decision in my opinion
  13. Re: -||Eredivisie Ratings-By Kun,BRNL and Jor||- lets not forget the last Heerenveen striker with a ridiculous scoring rate Dost is slow and, despite his size, not amazingly strong. If I wanted a targetman from the Eredivisie, I'd have de Jong over him. He's still a very good finisher but I think you could put any half-decent striker in the current Heereveen set up and they'd be awesome. Narsingh was picking up assists that game so easily, van la Parra has been amazing too (which surprised me). Dost shouldn't have risen last rating changes.
  14. Re: -||Eredivisie Ratings-By Kun,BRNL and Jor||- Kashia is a tough one, he's one of the best defenders in the league imo but Vitesse will restrict him to an 86 or so cap unless they win the league (even then, as AZ showed in 08/09, an 87 cap is likely). still, he's a decent asset and don't be deterred by how low rated he is for his age. Depends how competitive your GW is really. As for de Jong not scoring - Twente have become very one dimensional of late. Our play can be summed up as: -Get ball to Brama or whoever is in central midfield - pass to Bajrami or John - run really fast - cross for header. Everytime. The only time we don't is when Chadli gets the ball because he tries to beat a few players. Unfortunately I don't think de Jong is much of a targetman AT THE MOMENT. He has the potential to be but I think he prefers that role just behind the main striker, hence why he was scoring more with Janko in the team.
