  1. Nearly finished with my first rotation of Notts County transfers. Despite some people saying that it would be a challenge, it hasn't seemed that way.. Most forumers bit my arm off at the chance of having some decent youngsters. So I made use of this and bought in what I believe are young players that are still not completely established though can at least compete in the league. We're 7th in the league in terms of form from the last 6 games and hopefully as the season draws to a close we can get a mid-table finish.
  2. Have to say thanks Dan. Helped me fund the acquisition of this guy: Francis Coquelin falls down the divisions to join the Notts County project! Im aware how inflated BPL players go for which makes the buy a little sweeter. Not to mention Arsenal is my home team atm . Coquelin will be joining Niguez Saul in the centre of the park which fundamentally makes it one of the strongest midfield partnerships i've had at County.. Even compared to when we were in division 2! We're probably a little short in defense of those who can step up to the first team. Might have to fork out a bit to find a replacement for Babic.
  3. Theres an exciting new signing to announce at Meadow Lane in the next few days. On top of this we're one of the in-form teams in the division despite being in the lower echelons! I didn't receive any cash injections from the chairman, which must mean im doing something right! I'd like to point out here first that there will be a few of my youth players coming available. These may include the likes of Maitland-Niles for cash... depends if I can get enough prior to manufacture the move for the new signing!
  4. Great season for Bradford with us back in the big time! Starting to really shape the team as I want it! New recruits include Costa, Henderson and Walcott. Drew with fellow championship chaser Sheffield United which allows Hull to gain some distance. Currently 4th though we are still in the Cup and Shield!
  5. Notts County are on a great little run. Following the win at home to QPR we've now won 3 out of 3! Notable performers in these matches has been Kramaric, a 17 year old from Slovenia, who has scored 3 in the last 2 games. Ruben Neves is still on fire which gives the team a real boost. Fernandez is also making the difference at the heart of the defense. Still could do with a proven goalscorer. Wickham has failed to score in 6 appearances which just wont do. The run has brought us off the foot of the whole set-up... No wooden spoon for us!
  6. Our leaky defense is costing us dearly. So much for the Stambouli - Fernandez - Alonso line. Going to change to 4 at the back and see how that goes. It doesn't help that Wickham hasn't found the scoresheet in 3 games since joining from Man City. Ruben Neves is the only player wanting to have a crack. Still rooted to the bottom by 5 points. Don't want the dreaded Wooden Spoon trophy at the end of season awards - if it does happen il just write this season off as a season of transition
  7. Bradford City News: My first full season in charge of Bradford saw the team rightly return to Division 1. There was a really close run-in with Arsenal as early favourites Manchester City fell down the pack and missed out on the play-offs. Im delighted to finish first in division 2 at the first attempt. Now its a case of finding form against the big teams . During the break I will be looking to shift along the old guard at Bradford so that I can build around the youngsters Marquinhos, De Gea, Firmino, Kovacic, Umtiti and Griezmann. Exciting times lie ahead at Bradford! 10 players have left already this season as I look to put my own stamp on the team. One of those, Carlos Gil leaves for 7.7 mill after arriving in 2009 for 700k. Another includes Donati who I bought from Herby as one of my first signings - he now leaves for a 1 mill profit, without playing a game for the club this season. Il be posting on the news feed who is leaving and staying. This is my third trophy in EC1 following winning the SMFA shield and SMFA super cup; albeit a lot of the leg work was already in place by Asian Invasian.
  8. Poor start by Notts County - As expected though. Drew 4-4 with Millwall who we beat in Pre-Season and now a loss to Blackpool. Need to wait for the T/B to come up of the external buys made before I came to the club. Only then can I really change the team.
  9. This season your Chairman expects you to mount a serious promotion challenge. - Tad unfair! My highest rated player is 83.
  10. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread Soo.. I've only just noticed that Newcastle will be joining Division 4 next season. What happened to them? Im certain that they were a decent team a few years ago when I was around... They're highest waged player, Ibrahimovic (107k), takes in wages of around the same amount as my whole starting 11 that played in my last match. Bit disappointing that they've just been left to rot.
  11. Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread This is hopefully going to be the season for Tamworth. We currently lead the pack in division 5, and we have shown our worth by beating two potential contenders in Dagenham and Redbridge (5-2) and Barnet (4-0) so far this season. For financial reasosn we need to start moving up the divisions. The team is more than capable of playing in division 2 and 3 let alone division 4 and 5. The team is as follows: Sommer (Age 26; Rat 89) Marriano (28; 88) Ginter (21; 88) Makeev (25; 87) Kolodziejczak (23; 87) Ayew (23; 88) Makiadi (31; 87) Brozovic (22; 87) Djuricic (23; 88) Shelvey (23; 87) Lacazette (23; 90) So the team is strong but also young. Brozovic's +2 rise is crucial as it adds further quality to the centre of the park. We also have an abundance of 85's who can cover for depth. It would be considered a failure tbh if I dont get Tamworth promoted this season. About to start my 82 game with them, the squad finally has a good balance and the finances are back down to earth. Time to push on!
  12. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread Well, my first game back as Notts County manager proved to be exciting. Have to say Craig, you were unfortunate to not come away with all 3 points. Our captain, young Ruben Neves, scored twice and Neil Maupay got the third goal as we looked to go for an unjust win. However as you mentioned Klose scored in the last 5 minutes. Despite having a low wage bill we are still being crippled financially. So Robert Muric is now on his way to Preston North End for little under £2.5 mill (2 mill shy of what the last manager paid for him ). I don't particularly want to sell these players, but at the moment I have no choice. Ideally I would like to start making a competitive push within the next 3 seasons. I can't wait around till 2020 for these players to fulfill their potential. I have lined up two signings, both should rise. Just need the money first!
