  1. Re: Johan's Argentina rating predictions I believe the format is starts/subs/goals for each of the players with their current position and rating.
  2. Re: Johan's Argentina rating predictions I found your thread tremendously useful for identifying new potential. The start of a new season provides so many opportunities if you can figure out the players making the first XI. your thread has served me very well (along with Radebe20's Argentinian Analysis) in finding the breakout stars and potential risers of this Clausura. Thanks. Any thought to updating your thread, putting in up to date stats and identifying any new players who are impressing, or at least appearing. I'd find it quite helpful.
  3. Re: Albanian Superliga Risers Nertil FERRAJ - I think that his current rating is 76, not 74.
  4. Re: who to buy? transfer updates At present it updates promptly at 12:30am here on the east coast of the US. Believe that makes it 5:30 am in the UK, correct? One advantage of this location is that I am awake until it begins the updating, if not the completion ~2 hours later.
  5. Re: Bayern Munchen Agree mostly, with you fraser. If anything roque santa cruz deserves a decrease, a point or two, at this point. However, lell is the one I'd argue with you on. Still isn't a regular obviously but is becoming a fringe squad member. 5 starts, 5 sub appearances this year. For a team like bayern 82 seems low. 84/85 seems more appropriate for now, with more to come if he keeps making inroads into the squad.
  6. Re: Patrick Kluivert haven't seen anything to suggest that he deserves a rise. His decline has hardly reversed, if anything it has continued. Has struggled to get into the PSV first-team with any consistency. Often is anchored to the subsitute bench, today's garbage time appearance against Liverpool excepted. of course if you feel he was good at newcastle we may have to agree to disagree. You don't by chance have hesky and kluivert in your squad(s)? I feel that people may need to declare any personal conflicts they may have before hyping players for increases, much like stock analysts discussing securities on financial shows. Not that I am questioning the ethics of people's suggestions for increases.
  7. Re: Future peruvian superstar?? excellent post. appreciate the scout.

    M.Torres

Re: M.Torres well it sort of depends on what his rating is. Playing alone doesn't merit a rise to 90+, but if you are a regular in the top flight that alone would support a rise to the mid 80's, possibly higher depending on the team/league since 85-90 is the rating for premiership class. Obviously I agree that youngsters shouldn't rise too quickly as there is a lot to be said for consistency and demonstrating an ability to perform for extended periods, not just short spurts of form. 86, maybe 87 seems fair for Torres. He is a fairly regular starter in the 1st division for a 2nd place team. Not a superstar as yet but a solid contributer. If he had done this for 2-3 seasons He would be rated 89/90. 84 is low for somebody who plays consistently in spain's top flight, much less for Real Madrid.
  9. Re: SpanishRatings In case there is confusion, both Higuain and Gago are playing regularly for Real. In all competitions for Real Madrid: Gago 13 starts Higuain 12 starts, 1 sub (1 goal) Gago also got his first senior cap. 1 or 2 point increases for both in my mind Gago 91/90 Higuain 90/89
  10. Re: SpanishRatings Agree completely fraser. Don't understand the overwhelming fascination people have with torres. seems people are always hyping him for an increase. he is young and talented but hasn't had the amazing year to merit a move upward to an elite rating. seems people are rating him more on potential than form. aguero has been the revelation for athletico this year and deserves a move upward to approach or match torres.
  11. Re: Luis Jiménez My impression was the deal with Lazio was permanent, though it may initially be a loan. However by all accounts he is staying at Lazio with a fee already agreed upon. Since move has been a regular contributer with 3rd place Lazio: 2 starts, 5 sub since January. Jiminez had a tortured relationship with his old club Ternana, who are now in Serie C. He moved to Lazio in January after a court fight last fall to force his release. He nearly completed a move to Lazio during the summer window, but it fell apart when Ternana went back on the agreed deal. He filed suit to annul his contract, alleging Ternana reneged on an agreement to sell him permanently, demanding a greatly increased fee. Did not play this fall after his fall out with Ternana. Jimenez was on loan last season with Fiorentina. 11 starts, 7 sub. He plays internationally for Chile, and I believe has captained his international side on at least one occasion. There are definitely previous threads on him.
  12. Re: krisztian nemeth I believe its actually his younger brother.
  13. Re: goran slavkovski Don't disagree with his choice as he should go with the country he identifies with, but his connection with sweden is more direct then grandparents or the like. He was born and raised in sweden after his parents immigrated from macedonia so he has a legitimate claim to swedish nationality. Sort of feel that the country of birth is a fair factor in choosing a national team. However if he feels macedonian then he is right to choose their side, even if I will regret it if he develops into the next zlatan. Of course this is U21 so he can always change his mind. I do agree wholeheartedly with the feeling that grandparents nationality should not be a door to additional national sides. What connection do you have to a country if your only claim is that tenuous.
  14. Re: can you bidding more than what you have As neller said, can't bid more than you have. Also, if after the bid is made your balance decreases below what is required, the deal will be refused. This happens when the transfer would have gone through, when it is reviewed by the SMFA and finalized. U can not go into a negative balance thru a transfer, though you can definitely come close. I'm sure somebody is now going to want to install revolving debt, loans, bond issues, and credit cards. For realism
  15. To add to the thickness, does this sum the payroll? That is the feature that was unique about the payroll before and is what I am most in need of. In an effort to avoid my club's longterm financial ruin...
  16. I would just like to say we are discussing different things, which is why there is disagreement. These deals which I am suggesting should not involve computer managed teams, and wouldn't since offers to buy one of your players can only involve teams that have the player on their shortlist. AS well they should or managers could offer all their players to every team in the setup (whether for cash or players). Frankly I think that two seperate issues are being confused. You are not just changing who initiates the offer, you are changing the identity of the managers, specifically who is the computer in a transaction. That is not what is being changed by the addition of this type of transaction. My entire point is what does it matter if I offer it to you or you offer it to me. That is different then what you are describing. In one case you are making the computer be the Faye/Diouf team, in the next they are the Rooney team. Absolutely, changing the computer in a transfer will change the value that players have and the nature of the transfer. Just as if I offer Rooney for Henry, the team that is the computer would change the magnitude and direction of any cash involved. But that is not the issue here. Yes, when you sell to the computer you are getting less value for your players and cash when you try to buy from the computer. But that is the case if it is a 1 for 1 transfer or a cash transfer also and those types of transfers are allowed now. The issue is can I initiate a 2-1 swap where I will get the two players. Fact is if somebody makes a bid for my player I can negotiate and make exactly this type of transfer back to him. The only thing that will change with this suggestion is that now managers will be able to initiate this type of negotiation once their player is put on another club's shortlist. I fail to see how that is all that much different. I can understand the 2 player bid issue. However, it would be nice if managers could offer their one player to another team for a player + cash, but at this time that can not occur either. My entire point has been that the SMFA will evaluate a transfer regardless of who starts it. It is true that in part exchanges that you devalue your players. But that would not change on the basis of this proposed modification. Now a manager can offer his two players for another teams one player. With this all that changes is the team with the one high ranked player can initiate the offer for two lower players. All that changes is the side that initiates. The chairman/SMFA evaluation does not change and neither would the prospect of cheating. This all started when people felt that this would raise the ability of cheaters. That is what I disagreed with. As you say, presently we can PM the other team and get them to put in this transfer if we want. Why not streamline it and allow the other team to also be able to put in this offer? Frankly, didn't insult you even though I didn't feel you made any effort to understand what I am saying. But to answer, I do read and I often do digest, but not as quickly as I once did, which is an unfortunate medical side effect. Fact is I wrote two notes and you said nothing different. Seems you hardly read it or at least didn't respond. Reminds me of teachers who when asked to clarify repeat themselves over and over again, only slower. I am happy to be corrected if my assumptions are flawed.
