  1. Re: Is swapping Fabiano for Lukaku a good deal (i get Lukaku) it's a deal i would do without hesitation. fabiano will drop again next review, lukaku may take until next season to hit 90's but he will - at 16 and 17 he smashed the belgium league. i know it's only belgium, but still records are records, to smash them at that age is impressive. He's big and powerfull with a great eye for goal - could be the new drogba. at the very least if he doesn't crack it at chelsea, he'll still end up at a good club (athletic mad, Tottenham type of club) where he will come good. he'll get a 90 at chelsea i'm sure, if he cracks it there he'll end up a 94+, if not he'll go to an 'also ran' club and end up a 92. however you look at it, fabiano will be rated 88 or less within a year - lukaku can only go up.

  5. Re: French Ligue 1 & 2 (Risers Edition) probably, he's a regular starter, with the captains armband in a team hotly tipped to win the title (by me, lol). Unlikely to rise due to his age and SM's blatent age'ism (lol), but also unlikely to drop too, at least this season.
  6. Re: French Ligue 1 & 2 (Risers Edition) out injured for another month, but big strong solid defender with a big future of that there's no doubt. Considered a first team player at PSG despite there new money. if PSG fulfill there potentia, and he can stay without injury enough to play most games, I feel sure he'll cement his place in the national squad. 91 at the end of the season is most likely - but he could easily be a future 92/93 next season, and if he moves (several clubs looking at him, Arsenal (assoc. to anyon e french), Liverpool and bayern munich chief amongst them. He signed a 1 yr extention on his contract until '12, but PSG may convince him to stay if they meet expectations this season after spending 75mil euro's on players such as Pastore, Matuidi, Menez, Sissoko, and Sirigu (an absolute bargain at 3.4mil Euro's). Not to mention the purchase of Kévin Gameiro for under 10 mil Euro and already bagged 6 goals in 11 games.
  7. Re: French Ligue 1 & 2 (Risers Edition) he's playing all games, both domestic and eufa. Lyon have enough faith in him that they sold there DM stalwart Jeremey Toulanan to Malaga. I've only seen him play a couple of times, but seems to have great positional sense, is strong and looks the part. I have him in pretty much all of my teams and no intention of selling him at this stage. seems to be a future 91 for sure. As for any higher than that, will be tough - with new money going into PSG and Lille and Marseille also very strong these days, the days of Lyon's domination of the La Ligue seem to be over (having said that I'm very aware that currently Lyon are sitting pretty at the top of the table:) ). Also, getting into the national squad will be hard as he plays the same role as Yann M'vila who seems to have got the jump on that role. In summery i'd guess at a 90 rating by the end of the season, 91 maybe if Lyon stay top two and do well in Europe - but SM may wait to see if that form continues into next season before a 91 is given. A 92 is possible at Lyon, but not for at least two seasons and would need fabulous two seasons, so unlikely. Anything better than that depends on things like moving clubs, injury to m'vila giving him a chance in the nat. squad and all the other very random variables. Hope this helps

  9. Re: Player Status i would like to know if more people are suffering from this issue, and am surprised to have had not replies as yet. At the moment, i'm finding it almost impossible to bid for players as EVERYONE comes back with a counter offer including either Gotze, Neymar, rodriguez lucas, ramsey, wilshire or hazard. These are all players I consider to have very very big futures, and it is getting very tiresome that it is impossible for me to negotiate for a player as they counter always comes back including 1 or 2 of these players. I do howver still want to be able to list them for loan - so it would have to be a seperate status from transfer status. just a tick box flag or something which makes them unavailable to the transfer negotiation window. anyone have thoughts on this?
  10. Re: Guess at next leagues to be reviewed? back to the main point of this thread - anyone want to make an educated guess at the next leagues to be reviewed?
  11. Re: SMs league review policy i'm all for a little bit better notice on reviews - not just for the opportunity to buy, but also so i know when to sell players. for example, torres at the moment is bombing, and will probably drop, also Eto is going to drop drastically when there relevant reviews come around - however, if either of them are currently your top striker your loathe to sell them, especially if your coming to the end of a season and are pushing for honor's. if you know thought that Eto is going to be reviewed and you still have 10 games to go, well anyone with any sense would be looking to sell or trade him. I understand why they removed the advanced notice - but to be honest it hasn't worked - those of us who buy risers have for the most part enough experience of SM to have educated guesses as to which leagues are forthcoming anyway, so the people who suffer most are the newbies, the very people that SM thought they would be helping.....
  12. Re: The real problem with sm.. Match engine!.. could not agree with you more - i'm not that into the new interface whatsoever, if SM keep making superficial updates like that they will end up doing to SM what Football Manager ended up doing to the Championship Manager game - making it overcomplicated and uninteresting. The old interface worked perfectly well, with everything very easy to find and not trying to put too much information onto a single screen. That said, there are some positives about the new layout - not many i'll grant but some, so that's not the gripe. The real gripe is, as you say. the waste of time and money on a superficial change when there is so many better things they could have used that time, money and energy on. The main things would be: 1 - as you've outlined above, getting the mechanics correct with regard to sub's and injuriies 2 - making auto substitutions in cases of injury to replace the injured player with best suited player for position 3 - and MOST IMPORTANTLY in my humble opinion - improving the match report details. 23 mins - alves makes a great run down the wing 33 mins - aguero shot blast's over the bar .. tell me, whatever happened to alves's run down the wing...lol lol lol we will never know. instead of a single action in a minute, it should be more like this: 23mins - alves makes a great run down the wing crosses into the box, but is cleared by hummels, great defending 33 mins - aguero recieved the ball outside the box from a great pass by toure through the middle - aguero takes a shot, but blast's it over the bar 4 - a 2d or (and i know i'm dreaming here) a 3d match representation However, this - what i would consider should be the main aim of SM - would only be possible when the above 3 points have been met. If SM were to concentrate on these goals, I feel sure that most if not all SM players would be far far happier than they are with what has proved to be a very hit/miss superficial update. I also think that such updates as these would bring in a LOT more business, generate a LOT more revenue, and could turn SM into a worldwide phenomenon, not an overstatement I think when you consider the worldwide market of football. I have tried many online football games, and overall SM is pretty much my favourite - but the changes I have listed above would make it a near perfect game. PS: still think the concerns need a very small de-tweeking, top players should expect 50% of games, and should not count injury AND recovery time in the calculation of this.
  13. Re: blocking bids from managers Re-Titled to make the thread's purpose clearer, thanks.
  14. Currently it is possible to block bids on your players if you consider them to be beyond negotiation. For example if I have Messi then i have him has unavailable. there is no amount of bid would make me part with him at this time and cannot see that changing for at least the next 2-3 years. However, if I make a bid on a player, the amount of time they come back with Messi as part of the negotiation is beyond a joke. So, my suggestion is this. Add and additional transfer status to the players, which is 'unavailble, including transfer negotiation.' I like negotiations, and believe there is often a solution that can be worked out, but some players are simply non-negotiable, and it would be nice if we could set there status to reflect that. Thanks for your consideration, Scrags
  15. Re: blocking bids from managers Dear sm please close this thread as i have copied it with a more suitable subject title of 'blocking bids from managers' anyone wishing to add to this thread - please do so on the new titles thread - thank you.
  16. Re: blocking players any manager who has bugged me enough to make me want to block there bids, i dont want to trade with in any shape or form. if they have a player i want then i'd rather buy that player from someone else after they sell him on than encourage the manager from Bell End. I find it a crazy situation where we can be 'harrassed' by people just becuase they want us to sell our best players for next to nothing. This is always about new managers who join, the same ones who complain about squad size. I know becuase when i started i was one of them (sad to admit but true). It's only when you get into the game and understand the mechanics of how things work that you learn to change your approach. however some managers never seem to, my guess it's usually the younger ones. but i have honestly had occasion in a couple of GW's where i log on to 100 messages over night where they have bid and cancelled on a player - this happened becuase after refusing to sell a top player (in one case aguero for 30mill after i'd paid 50mil + lisandro + munian). this player kept bidding the same amount, i kept declining, then eventually i just left the bid un-answered. thats when i started, every day i got 100 new club messages of bid/cancel which i had to delete - too make things worse, with the new layout SM have implemented - you can now only delete messages 1 at a time!!!
