  1. I would like to suggest an addition to the management system. Sometimes a manager joines a gameworld and continuously pester's you. You can write to them and tell them that you are happy with your squad, but because of jelousy they decide they want to annoy you. It then forces you to make your players unavailable as even stupidly high minimum fee's they will still bid then withdraw just to be annoying. I have come accross this behaviour a few times and it makes life very difficult. I personally dont like to make my players unavailable as i'm always open to listen to good offer's. But sometimes someone joines and because you wont sell then aguero for 28.5mill, and then dont sell them pique for 27.5mill they get upset, sometimes they write and say, hey look you have such a big squad of good players - but they dont realise what you have put into the game to make that situation. when the mail's start, it is possible to block them, which is great, i usually dont report them for being abusive, but if they catch me on a bad day or i think they are being too abusive then i will, but usually i try to be calm and explain the effort i've put in to make my team, so why would i sell them aguero for 28.5mill when i paid 50mill + munian + lisandro (as an example). if this does not work and they continue to pester i simply block them. What i would like is for a block option within the club. so that you can block a manager from making any bids on your players, therefore leaving you to play the game normally without being pestered by these childish antics. Thanks for looking into this, Scrags

  3. Re: Israel Division 1 (Young Mins) great listing at short notice, saved me a night of research - thanks
  4. Re: Player concerns poll i've said 'no' to the concern's, however i was for them and voted for them in the original poll. I am still in favour of them generally, but think that the system needs tweeking. there is a lot of talk about people with crazy squads, worth 1billion or more, and i'm one of those, i have 10 squads, some worth about this, and my more challenging ones (charlton x 3 and older game worlds) in the high 100's of millions. my argument, is that i put in the effort to make these teams what they are. I did the research, i keep up to date by following the players progressions on the informative websites (and from the forum on here:) ), so i dont feel it's undeserved. I agree that a team should not be able to keep 30 or 40 players of high quality (90+), but you should be able to maintain a goalie and 20 outfield players, so 50% play rate should be sufficient to keep a player happy. this then would allow you to rotate when all players are fit and maintain a happy balance, and use your substitutions for those hot young talents that are at that difficult point when they are not really first team material in your very high quality squad, but you know they soon will be - currently neymar for example, suarez and hazard too, soon munian, gotze, reinartz, wilshere, ramsey will suffer the same problem. When you have a squad of very very good players, you have to decide who your going to let go so you can incorparate the latest 90 into your squad, therein weakening your squad. these players are few and far between i grant you, but neymar and badstuber are players i'm starting to lose from my teams because i cant keep them happy along with in neymar's case aguero and messi. but i think neymar could well be better than aguero, and when he reaches 92 i'd happilly sell aguero. i've recently lost bale at a few of my teams because of this, and badstuber is next. neymar and hernandez are going to be problems for me soon too. this is becuase i have to use the sub's on my top players to keep there play percentage over 60% or more. i generally like the concernes thing - i never liked the idea of a club having someone like vermaelen then loaning him out... currently i find that players rated under 90 in a top squad dont complain, and players under 25 and under 90 are happy to be loaned - all good. as i say a small tweek would allow the people who worked hard to create there squad's reap the justified rewards, while still preventing the crazy situation that existed before. in a very high quality squad, something like this: 50% play rate should keep a 92 or more rated player happy 90/91 rated players under 25 remain happy with substitute appearances everything else remains as is. this would allow those who brought in neymar, hazard, bale, and other such budding stars to develop those stars into there squad fairly, then when they reach a 92 level which is good enough for any top squad, they either incorporate them fully and sell an established player, or they sell them. for my money when hazard moves to a top club (probably this winter) then i'd be ready to sell a ribery or a robben - or again when neymar get's his big move, if he proves himself then i'll be ready to sell a aguero or milito or even higuain, or torres. i dont ask for much
  5. Re: Player Concerns - increase rate of change there is definitely a bit of a bug, or some things about this that need to be improved. I'll give an example to illistrate my point. muller was rated 88, and being young and in a top team, was happy to wait his time, get loaned out etc.. without developing concerns. this is how it should be. however he got a rate rise just yesterday, and then immediately develops concerns becuase of lack of play... surely the counting should only start after his rate rise? now that he's good enough for 1st team play, he would get games, but now he has concernes, he wont play so good, and becomes a liability. my preference is to sell valencia or sessignon, but as the season draws on i want to keep up the momentum and push for the league, with muller unhappy i'm not inclined to play him..... so you see my issue. another thing - just a question, if anyone knows the answer would be cool. with players developing concernes quicker, do they also lose those concernes quicker - use to be you could play a level 1 concerned plyer virtually a whole season before the concernes would go - is this still the case? or can you resolve the issue as quickly as you get them? Some proper data on this from SM would be nice, how is it calculated etc.. so that we know better how to balance our selections. We dont have the benefit of talking to players or being in the dressing room like a real manager, so we dont know what those players expect from us - some kind of table or outlining guide would be of great benefit so that we can better manage our players. If one exists, then appreciate being pointed in the right direction as i could not find anything like it. I'm all in favour of concernes, think it's the best way to stimulate transfer's and stop 1/2 or 3 teams hogging EVERY top player - which i have seen in some GW's. However, it is necessary to maintain about 20 1st team players (allowing for cups and injuries) + youth, and a guide as to what expectations players have would be very beneficial. Also, another question - when a player evalution is done, are cup games and smfa games considered in his game time? or is it only league games? often i use cup games and smfa games as a chance to give my 90/91 rated players game time, while keeping the real quality for league games, so knowing all the factors that apply would be very helpful here.
  6. Re: SM Going backwards SM - would appreciate if you lock this thread and let it die. When i opened it i was not fully understanding the changes that had been made. I tried to open a cheating ticket for what was an exceptional case (a PM telling me he'd sell me his best players if i bought him a game world). I reported the mail as abuse - and still suggest that when you click the report abuse button a short form to explain why would help, however SM dealt with the matter and kicked and suspended the manager - fair do's. I had not had cause in over a month (since the change in reporting cheating) to report a cheat, so was not aware of the new system, however just yesterday I did have cause, and found that pressing the illigal transfer button gives you a form where you can enter all relevant information (previously you clicked this button and invariably nothing happened, so i always opened tickets), and basically it's not too different as before, just different methodology - and mild threats to prevent time-wasters, again fair do's. SM dealt with the cheat promptly and reversed the transfer's. Now I understand better, the whole reason for opening this ticket is now a mute point - therefore request you close this thread, thank you. My only slight note is that SM could have made these changes more clearly known - not just in forums, but as they did with the other updates recently implemented, have it pop-up after log in with full clear information of the new procedure's. Would certainly have saved me worries, and time.
  7. Re: SM Going backwards I take it all back - I just had to report a suspected illegal transfer and now understand the new system much better. My apologies to SM, however previously when you clicked illegal transfer nothing happened, i see now that it's been changed so that you create a ticket at that point - this works well - shame about the threat to take action against your own account if they dont agree, but i guess this does stop time-wasters. Also with SM taking action on the guy who PM'd me to say that he'd sell his best players in return for buying hin a game world - all in all, Fair Play SM - my apologies for not having more faith.
  8. Re: 99-100 a player is only as good as the team around them - yes ronaldo didn't have a great game at el classico, but not through lack of effort, just defensively madrid were a shambles, and LMAO jose's tactic's tottally sucked - cant stand the guy, hate his version of football, couldn't be happier to see the johann cryff school of pure football blow him out of the water (again). Anyway, dont forget Messi had a pretty poor WC, with higuain being the brightest star in the blue/white strip. anyway, onto the ronaldo / messi for 99 debate. imo they are both worthy of 99 - you cannot directly compare the two players, ronaldo is immense in many area's, speed, power, heading and eye for goal, he has consistantly proved this for many years in spain and england at the highest level. Messi uses his small stature to full effect, again speed, but with balance and great footwork, and a great eye for goal. they are both incredibly creative players are there is no doubt they are the two best attacking players in the world - and imo on a par with ronaldhino at his peak, who i use to watch every game shown on sat tv, as i now do ronaldo and messi. the reason you will probably never get a 100 player is they would have to have the passing of ronaldhino, balance of messi and strenght of ronaldo, as well as the shared attributes these players have. Also I dont agree with comments that SM are too tight with defensive players though, maicon is (rightly so) rated at 96, as is vidic - although Cole should also be a 96, and alves a 95 imo. If puyol was a 97 i'd say fair enough and maybe he should still be as he is awesome week in/out. Pique still makes mistakes, but long term could be as good as Puyol. ps: higuain for a 96 - rather have him than david villa any day of the week.
  9. Re: Six Loans rather than three so would I but that's becuase i would be doing all the loaning tbh, i think it would just further stagnate transfer markets though.
  10. Re: SM Going backwards about cheating Firstly, thank you tebthereb for your extensive reply. quote/// It would be wrong to assume that SM are wrong for not punishing people you are convinced are conducting an illegal transfer. SM have access to all the available info, whereas customers like you and I do not, so if SM fail to act this is usually because of lack of evidence. They can't ban people on coincidence or theory otherwise people would be getting each other banned out of revenge/jealousy etc. There is of course a point at which coincidences stack up too much, where SM will take a less lenient view. With the new "illegal transfer" reporting mechanism you can give more info which increases the likelihood of getting an actual cheat busted. unquote/// I have not used the new illegal transfer system so cannot comment, however whenever i use to report a cheat it is usually a case of 1 person with multiple accounts making transfer's between those clubs that would not normally be agreed. In these circumstances I would monitor many things like manager profiles, log-on times, how quickly the bid was made and then accepted, other better bids (including my own if I had) that were declined and any other usefull information. My experience with SM support proved to me that the more of this information you supplied, usually the better the response you got from SM. My concern here is not being able to supply this information, as when in the past i've tried using the illigal transfer button nothing ever happened. I had an experience recently in one game world where a manager at ManU took over at one point 6 other clubs, myself and 3 or 4 other longer serving managers kept SM aware of all his macinations, continually having his transfer's reversed until eventually he was kicked out from most of the clubs, and finally he gave up and left completely - however, if it were not for those combined efforts that one person would have totally destroyed the game world. Without proper tickets, so that you can refer to ticket numbers etc... I dont believe this cheat would have been stopped, and my club america which i've turned from a pretty poor team to a multi cup winning and 2nd place in the league team would have become too depressing to maintain and i would have quit it, as would the other managers who were reporting the problem - in fact i had to convince them to keep up there reporting, and by turning it into a joke amongst ourselves, and laughing about it in the GW newspaper everytime transfer's were reversed we got through, although two longer serving managers (not english therefore not understanding properly unfortunatly) did quit, and that was a real shame. Quote:/// Originally Posted by Scrags View Post Today, i got an PM from someone who offered to sell me all there best players for cost price, if i buy them a game world.... how do i report that??? go to illigal transfers and press a button, i think not! go to match fixing and report that, nope. your reply I think this is a good question and I agree the solution is not clear. I had to ask SM myself, and I have been playing far longer than is good for me. The answer, I am told, is to use the "Report" option when viewing the PM. This will flag the PM up to someone at SM who will review it. The option is, I believe, primarily intended for reporting severe abuse but it can be used in any cases where the Terms of Use are being threatened/broken. I have pointed out to SM that this is not particularly clear, and hopefully this will be improved. unquote./// that's what i did, all that happened was the manager was put onto my block list, i happen to know he's made the same offer to other managers - nothing has been done. again - how do i report that? With regard to your further comments about it not being fair to say sm dont want to liaise with anyone, the forum is in place etc... well let's be honest, a forum is kind-of the minimum requirement for any online game, i am yet to find one that does not give a forum. Many though also have chat facilities, with access to moderators and game teamsters.... your further comments about multiple accounts without match fixing or illigal transfers - i dont see that as a problem tbh. even match fixing isn't a real problem unless the manager has many clubs then it could be. The real cheating problem - the single thing that can ruin a game world very quickly is multiple accounts used to make unfair transfer's. And the new one as stated above (buy me a game world). I dont know what happens when you click illigal transfer - if it gives you the opportunity to give full information then i apologise for 90% of this issue raised here, as that is all i want to be able to do. If it does not, then i stand by every word. As for the PM - when you click on report abuse, it should offer you a form to complete to give SM the full picture, not just block the sender and nothing happens. The example I have given here happened just this week - i clicked report abuse, the message was automatically deleted, so i no longer have proof! and i can assure you that no action (as yet) has been taken by SM ** updated ** he was today removed as manager.... maybe some humble pie coming my way... Still, i would prefer to have had a report ticket, but seeing some direct action is very re-assuring. My experience on this and on other online games is that the best cheat prevention is by the players themselves - so give us the chance to help, as nothing ruins a game like cheating. I am quite a serious gamer and put a lot (too much) into being competative. I gladly pay for the games I enjoy, and all I ask is 1 thing : protect us from cheating, and let us help SM by giving us a proper reporting system. tbh, i dont care about updates or any of that, i was already very happy with the game as it was. In many circumstances games can get over developed, I just hope SM dont go down that road of over-developing the game, and lose sight of what's important - keeping the player happy.
  11. just a thought. shouldn't people read a thread and see the debates/arguments that have been proposed before voting? as it is at the moment, you vote first, then read the thread and maybe add your comments. However, and this is especially the case with new members, often once you have read the arguments and counter arguments your opinion may well have been affected. a good example: the current poll thread on squad capping. When i first started playing this game, i was 100% convinced that squad capping was a MUST, and even wrote a suggestion to SM on this. However, having become more active in the forums and reading up more and generally getting more into the game, i am now very aware of how squad capping would seriously damage the game, making managing small squads a near pointless exercise and blah blah blah (for full arguments on this issue read the thread). Therefore as a newbie, i would have voted for a cap of 50. However, the thread on this subject is very good, with many good arguments and counter arguments. Once having read the thread, i am sure that many people who have voted would have voted differently, especially as i say the more newer members who are still finding there feet with SM. the way a poll thread works at the moment is like going to a voting booth on an election and voting for the party that just happens to have said something you think you like, but not actually having looked at there policies or the repurcussions that they could have..... like voting LibDem and then realising that in doing so everything they said was absolute rubbish as they bent over and took a tory sausaging. Another solution would be to add more weight to the vote of a longer serving manager - this is not to belittle the newer managers, but certainly it takes a while of playing SM to understand certain aspects, and new managers can often be frustrated by many things - especially if they are in an older game world, which takes a LOT of patience, vigilance and hard work to be successful in.
  12. Re: Player Values it's something i've often thought about, however as i've grown into the game more, i see how the current system really does help developing teams. Maybe instead of basing player values around the top rated player of that position, it could be based on the highest value player of that position - but then sm would hve to set there own value's to each player (which they use to do, but then scrapped), and this would create it's own anomolies, eg: a team with david luiz in it and naldo also, naldo's value would be way below what you would want to see while david luiz would be too high. of those two players if i was selling one, i'd be looking to sell naldo, so would be very dissapointed bythe low value imposed on him by having luiz in the squad.... swings/roundabouts..
  13. Re: Six Loans rather than three maybe stupid was a bit strong:) but i still think it's crazy to loan a player of 90 or over as they become unhappy, and then it becomes very very difficult to make them happy again, so they play badly. Also if you have so many 90+ players that you can loan them out then the player concerns that are becoming a more active part of the game are aimed at you so as to prevent anyone from hogging all the best players. however, i do agree with you about the point of some players not yet up to 1st team quality - ozil, marin, pedro, di maria etc.. all 90 rated (at the moment, ozil 91), and in most cases that's not really sufficient to get into most of my teams, but they are all players i dont want to lose either, so keeping them happy is very difficult. I think there could be some kind of co-efficient based on the rating of your 20 highest rated players, so that any player not up to the rating set by your top 20 players does not develop concernes - maybe with an age limit of 25 at which point they do. for example - if your top 20 players have average rating of 92, then any player rated 90 or less and under 25 is willing to develop and wait there turn. similarly if average rating is 93 then 91 or under or av.rating is 91 then 89 etc.... just a thought.
  14. Re: Six Loans rather than three i think the current loan system is just right as it is. any more than 3 loans would allow a club to have too much dependancy on loans and therefore have less need of buying players. the idea of this game (like in real life) is to be good in the transfer market and build a solid squad that works with your tactics. too many loanee's would work against that. also with regard to loaning players rated 90 or more - anyone stupid enough to loan a 90 + rated player deserves the unhappy status that the player will surely return with - so again SM have already got it right on that front. Also if your squad isn't the strongest, then your chairman will not allow you to loan out one of your better players - again SM have got that right. In summeray, the current loan set up is just about perfect - but that's just my humble opinion As a side note, i did recently loan out two 90 rated players to a club in a division below me (my club america squad). I have exchanged quite a few pm's with the manager during a very stressful period where we had a cheat ruining the game world - PLEASE READ MY POSTS ON THE CHANGE TO REPORTING CHEATS - so he asked me as a favour to help him in his bid to get promotion, i agreed to loan him Pedro for 1 game only, and Marin for 1 game only, they both returned after that 1 game each without being unhappy, so again another example of the loan system working just about right as it is.
  15. Re: Squad Sizes agree with the comments that the larger squad's managers keep the transfer market interesting, and also because of there active trading and profitting they keep money coming in, allowing them to pay 'way over' for a good youngster to a team who really needs that money, and also by selling players who have matured but will never reallly be up to there 1st team level and therefore develop concernes. I thought there was already a limit of 255 players - certainly i've not been able to sign players when reaching that number! i think 255 is about right, it allows you to maintain the 20 1st team players, 20 key youngsters, and a turnover of 200 'risers'. not only do the managers who are willing to put in the effort to develop those players help the GW by keeping the transfer market active, but it also allows those managers to take on the more interesting challange of developing smaller clubs that most people cannot be bothered with (in my case 3 charlton squads i'm very proud of - 2 in very old well established game worlds, and one i started from new). without this trading i could never make those charltons potential league and cup winners, and to be frank would lose interest in them - i find increasingly that it's the trading managers that are responsible for a very high percentage of the managed 'smaller' clubs - and that definitely helps keep the GW's interesting.
  16. Re: Methods to report in-game cheating didn't see this thread as i looked in the wrong place, and opened my own ticket on the subject. now i've move my ticket and discovered this thread... ho hum. Anyway, i've added to the clear poll winner - new system sucks, bring back support tickets for cheating. Today, i got a PM from a player who said 'i sell you my best players 'iniesta' anyone you want at cost price, if you buy me a game world' Someone tell me how i'm ment to report that - illegal transfer? LOL http://forum.soccermanager.com/showthread.php?t=75421
