  1. Re: Forumer Of The Year 2008 - 1st Round Group B Voted for Atkin. Tough decision between him and Tom, but I think Tom will win the group comfortably, so hope to see Atkin through to the next round with him. Both great forumers, Tom makes some amazing posts, both scouting and setup reports (ie A-Z Almanac). Atkin gets about everywhere, some great ideas like the film picture game, and they're both also a pleasure to talk to on msn Edit: Oh, and btw, i didnt pick the vid, but glad people are enjoying it lol
  2. Re: Gold Championship 14 (News, Gossip, Match Report, Etc) Thread Flamengo gave a second masterclass in 3 days, with this dominating victory over America. It was again Lukas Podolski who ran the show with another hattrick, taking his tally to 14 goals in 15 games for the season, and an outstanding 51 goals in 53 appearances for his club. Mengão dominated the match from the start, and were unlucky not to be awarded a penalty in the 14th minute when Juan Vargas was tripped in the box. The first booking of the match came soon after, although it was Flamengo's captain Daniel Cata Diaz getting his name in the ref's book, following a late challenge. The scoring was opened almost straight after, hitting America on the break, Lukas Podolski when on a foraging run and his strike sent the crowd wild! A spectacular goal to add to the scrapbook! Andrea Dossena placed a twenty yard strike wide a minute after the restart, before a rare attack from America ended with Hyun-jin Lee straying offside. Mengao then took a 2 goal lead, with Ezequiel Lavezzi striking a powerful shot into the onion bad in the 27th minute. Lavezzi seems to be finding his feet in Rio now, taking his tally to 4 for his new club, and starting to form a deadly partnership with Podolski. Podolski had two more chances to score before half time, blasting wide on both occasions. Either side of Erwin Hoffer showing his desperation by taking a dive in the Flamengo box, but failing to fool the referee and earning himself a yellow card. Flamengo again started the stronger in the second half, with Jean Makoun finding space in the box, but heading onto the roof of the net. America's Erwin Hoffer then nearly gives the crowd something to cheer about as his drive whistles past the post. Two more chances followed for Podolski, first gaining control at the edge of the box but curls his shot inches wide, and then a spectacular overhead kick which flew wide of the mark. We didn't have to wait long for his second goal of the game though, collecting the long ball down the middle, and drilling home a right foot shot, in the 57th minute. America had another chance not long after, with Hyun-jin LEE trying to chip the keeper, but hitting it over the crossbar. Flamengo increased the score to 4-0 in the 68th minute, with Owen Hargreaves finding time and space to casually roll the ball into the net With just 3 minutes to goal, a speculative chip by Lukas Podolski secured the rout, and another match ball, with Guillermo Ochoa fumbling and the ball rolling agonisingly over the line! The result moves Flamengo into second place, but have a lot of work to do to catch River Plate, who maintained an 8 point lead with a 2-1 win away to fellow Argentinians Inependiante.
  3. Re: The Official !FIFA 09! Thread I've got it on ps3, but im engrossed on my BAP season
  4. Re: Official International Management Job Offers Thread I think you get them again when you take another team in the setup, as I think Nick Justice did that earlier today in GC29. I can't promise that tho, just I think thats what happens!
  5. Re: Gold Championship 30 Discussions Picked up Mallorca. Could've been Madrid but was banned, had to go on another account and quit a team to join. I'll be quitting after the international job offers, but Nick Justice has first refusal on them. lol.
  6. Re: Official International Management Job Offers Thread How much did u bribe SM for that collection!

  8. Re: Gold Championship 26 Transfers / Reports Thread 2 - 1 First Half Highlights 9: GOAL!! - Receiving the ball on the right Carlos VILLANUEVA skips inside his marker and curls in a shot from 25 yards! 22: GOAL!! - Dimitar BERBATOV caresses in a curling shot! What technique! 25: BOOKED - Christopher SAMBA receives a yellow card after violent conduct Second Half Highlights 87: GOAL!! - Dimitar BERBATOV turned quickly and fired a low shot into the bottom corner! Blackburn put up a strong fight against one of the favourites for the title, but left Stamford Bridge empty handed, after Dimitar Berbatov secured the win for Chelsea with just 3 minutes to go. The defeat leaves Rovers without a point from their opening two games, and will be hoping to turn around their fortunes when the visit Sunderland on Saturday.
  9. Re: Official International Management Job Offers Thread Less than impressed with the job offers i've had. I'm in every GC, but had only 6 offers in the first 27, one good one for netherlands, but the other 5 for, well, less than average sides. Was hoping to get a decent country in the latest two, but no offer in GC28, even though I was the very first person in the setup, and got the job offer for the 'immense' Ireland in GC29. Don't think i'll be adding any World Cups to my SM CV anytime soon. lol.

Second Half The grass grew, an extremely small amount.

  12. Re: Gold Championship 14 (News, Gossip, Match Report, Etc) Thread 1 - 5 Flamengo showed what they're capabale of with this convincing win Sao Paulo, and yet again it was Lukas Podolski who provided the ammunition for the Rio de Janeiro club, firing in a hattrick to take his tally to 11 for the season, and an impressive 48 goals in his 52 games since signing for the club. The first half lacked any real entertainment, with the away side clearly still frustrated by their Quarter Final Latin America Cup exit earlier this week, but with 3 minutes to go before half time, Podolski cam flying in at the back post to score a diving header. This was just the boast Flamengo needed going into the break, and came out for the second half an inspired team. It took Podolski just two minutes in the second half to double his tally, and the score, breaking through the defence, and nonchalantly lobbing it over the advancing keeper! Humberto Borges nearly got the home side back in the game shortly after, driving his effort past the post, and Adriano also headed wide for the Sao Paulo, either side of two Ezquiel Lavezzi chances, blasting over a rebound, and shooting wide from 25 yards. It was then Podolski again who came up with a goal, in the 57th minute, although his speculative effort took a wicked deflective to beat te keeper. Sao Paulo 0 - Podolski 3! Owen Hargreaves and Pablo Ledesma both had chances to increase the visitors lead, both blazing over the bar. Then, with just over 20 minutes to go Sao Paulo redeemed some pride, Gomes Carlos Alberto blasting a half-volley into the roof of the net from outside the box, after Flamengo failed to clear the ball far enough from the corner. It took Flamengo just 5 minutes to restore the three goal advantage, Fernando Belluschi smashing the ball with venom into the roof of the net. Then with just 8 minutes to go, fellow Argentinian Ezequiel Lavezzi wrapped up proceedings, striking an early shot past a stranded keeper With just the Latin America Shield as a distraction, Flamengo will be hoping to improve their form with this result, in order to stay with and even catch league Leaders River Plate, as they currently sit 8 points behind in fourth.

  14. Re: Help With Deal(s) Thread... I'd take that Fabregas deal, especially in a WC, where that 35mill can easily get you another couple of quality players. Quaresma is quality, and i also rate Muntari, he can't go below his 90 at Inter!
  15. Re: Forumer Of The Year 2008 - (Qualifying) - Group 10 Nice to get an early lead, hope I can stay ahead Voted for Austin, great guy and forumer, and a regular match reporter
  16. Re: Gold Championship 27 Match Report Thread Actually they were all reversed before I took over, well accept Jorquera.
  17. Re: Gold Championship 27 Match Report Thread Taken over Barcelona today. Eto'o and Abidal both available p/e, for each I'm after a replacement along with a midfielder.
  18. Re: Gold Championship 29 Discussions Agreed, but SM will only respond with something like "the opinions of the majority on the forum only reflects a minority of those whom play SM". The customers opinions mean nothing anymore, learnt that a fair while ago.
  19. Re: Gold Championship 29 Discussions Ended up with Hertha, wanted Madrid but SM was taking a pathetically long time to load. I'm actually starting to get a bit bored with GCs and SM tbh now tho, even my Arsenal in GC28 i can't really be bothered with. GC30 tomorrow?
  20. Re: Gold Championship 28??- Adebayor available for a 90 replacment striker and 90 CM or AM Gallas available for a 90+ replacement defender, and a 90 CM or AM
  21. Re: Gold Championship 28 Match Reports/Transfers Thread You sold him for Totti and Vucinic in another GC, so it was worth a try lol
  22. Re: Gold Championship 28 Match Reports/Transfers Thread Got Arsenal, first in the setup, kinda wish i'd taken Madrid now Just to make a statement, Theo Walcott will not be leaving Arsenal in ANY deal, not even I got offered a straight swap for Ronaldo or Messi. Seems every offer I make atm gets counter for something pathetic including him.
