  1. Re: Bradford CFC Challenge! Transfers/Match Reports etc. After seeing such a good post from Smoggie Tom i decided i would have to post about my Bradford City side aswell because they are also my favourite team on the game by a mile and i think its most certainly a story worth telling. After winning Division's 4, 3 and 2 in consecutive seasons Bradford City have moved into the top flight of English football under Deveney's guidance full of confidence, knowing that they possess the quality to cause more than a few upsets in their opening season in Division 1. The first team and youth squad at Bradford has changed dramatically over the past three and a half seasons with Deveney wheeling and dealing regularly in the transfer market to bring in the best possible players for his side. The half way point of the season (Turn 19) has been reached for Bradford and despite a shaky start in the top tier which included four consecutive defeats to Portsmouth, Aston Villa, Leicester City and Manchester City, Deveney's men are now unbeaten in 11 league games including the notable scalps of Manchester United (3-2, H), Tottenham (3-0, H) and Blackburn (4-0, H). This leaves the Bantams in a lofty 3rd position in the league at the midway part of the season, trailing the Footballing giants of Liverpool by 5 points. City have fallen in both domestic trophies this season already with tough draws resulting in losses in both the Cup (2-5 Away at Liverpool, Round 3) and the Shield (1-3 Home to Arsenal). This does not worry Deveney too much in his quest for silverware, as he saw enough promise from the young guns of his second team to know that they have the quality to win things in future seasons at Bradford. The current playing staff at this point in time are found at this link, along with previous honours: Bradford City Deveney has managed to bring in some superbly talented players in his time at Valley Parade and the current first team squad is packed with quality. The average rating of the first choice 11 is 91 and has an average age of 24, with the two standout performers coming in the shape of Amauri and Trochowski, as well as Mutu who has only been at the club for four games thus far. The youth squad is also brimming with potential for the future, with the likes of Santon, Rafael, Dzagoev and Balotelli waiting in the wings along with many others. In terms of news of the transfer front, i am looking to sell Michael Rensing after his rises at Bayern to make a hefty profit, and as well as this Portugese midfielder Miguel Veloso should soon be sold before his drop in rating as he hasn't been having the best of times recently. The ideal replacement for Deveney is Fernando Gago, but this could be tough to negotiate so only time will tell on whether the Argentinian starlet will join the club. I will update again at the end of the season to see how i finish in my first season in the top flight, enjoying this job immensely and very proud of what iv'e done with the club as of where they started. Cheers!
  2. Re: SM Award - Greatest Side Ever (The Final) Voted for Mark's Bradford, class Mine arent bad either, in my sig the link, my favourite SM team by a mile, a lot of time gone into them
  3. Re: Stilianos Malezas (80 -> 85) Cheers mate' date=' got him for my Leeds [/font']
  4. Re: Christian MAGGIO & Hatem BEN ARFA Maggio is a good player and was regular for Napoli until his injury early in March which he is still out of action from, so this could affect his rating in a couple of weeks time. Ben Arfa is undoubtedly a talent, but he is on and off and he struggles to be consistent enough over the course of a season to be deemed top quality just yet. If he could manage to play to his potential week in week out he could be a world beater, but he is yet to fulfill the promise that he possessed as a youngster at Lyon. In terms of the deal, if you could find a similar rated player to replace Maggio such as Mata then it would be well worth it, i am a fan of Maggio but not sure if he will maintain his 90 due to the injury he suffered. It depends whether you need a RM like Maggio or another defender to replace Richards?
  5. Re: English Premier League ratings I personally felt John Obi Mikel deserved +1 to 92 for his exploits this season, played pretty well and many times in the midfield for Chelsea when Essien and others have been missing, others seemed to think this before the changes aswell.
  6. Re: Need help on who to buy! Jagielka has had a fantastic season and definitely deserves 88 --> 90 for the centre back, depends if you want to be signing Everton players for Liverpool though
  7. Re: Bassong to 86 what??????????? This drugs you speak of must be some pretty good gear if they are specific enough to make him talk in detail about Habib Beye's quality as a defender and likeliness of his inclusion in Manchester United's starting eleven/squad! Didn't know that sort of drug was about ..
  8. Re: Bassong to 86 what??????????? He's a better Footballer than John O'Shea who is very poor on the ball' date=' Gary Neville is finished, he's definitely as good or better than Wes Brown .. Wouldn't be far away from your RB position i wouldn't of thought in my opinion.[/font']
  9. Re: Bassong to 86 what??????????? When everyone is fit i would say that Beye is comfortably our best defender and quite similar ability-wise to Johnson' date=' who does deserve 90 for sure.[/font']
  10. Re: Bassong to 86 what??????????? No he didn't. For him to be placed 4 ratings behind the mess that is Coloccini is just wrong basically' date=' i'm a Newcastle fan and i can honestly say he deserved to stay, not been a fantastic season for him and the team obviously but he has been better than Coloccini for the mostpart![/font']
  11. Re: Bradford CFC Challenge! Transfers/Match Reports etc. .. BCFC Haven't had chance to post on the forum in a long while, very busy these days but my Bradford are by far my favourite team, 3 consecutive titles and now in the top division, team coming on well! Link above will show squad and such, Jagielka also set to join later today!

  13. Re: Deveneeey vs MrNiceGuy vs AsianInvasian Honours Challenge Since the last update, my Benfica in GC 18 have picked up both domestic trophies in Portugal with 0-5 and 0-8 wins respectively, and the league looks potentially possible as was as still being in the SMFA Shield (Round 3) Going well As well as them two trophies, the recovery from previous poor management of Italian giants Lazio has been completed as the Division 2 title was comfortably secured. My tally has been increased to 6 now, i'm sure Kuldeep and Matt will update when they have the chance .
  14. Re: Forumer Of The Year 2008 - (Qualifying) - Group 7 Thanks for the votes people, very surprised to get through to be honest, thought Armand would get through for sure . Cheers
  15. Re: Mock the Week Just noticed this thread properly, WHAT a show! Absolutely brilliant, i never miss it and Frankie Boyle is simply a genius! I genuinely hurt my ribs laughing at him and the rest, who all of which are extremely funny in their own ways. One of the best shows on TV.
  16. Re: Gold Championship 15 - Match Reports / Transfers ETC. Zenit Cruise to Title Luke Deveney's superb Zenit St Petersburg completed their season in style as the Russians won the league by a astonishing gap of 21 points from runners-up Dynamo Kiev, to add a second piece of silverware to the cabinet for this season along with the Russia & Ukraine Shield victory over Lokomotiv Moscow earlier in the year. in the 38-game season Deveney's outfit only lost 3 times, with 33 victories blazing an unstoppable trail through the league that destroyed everyone in its path. Players such as Pavel Pogrebnyak (25 goals, 35 assists, Av. Per 8.61), Santiago Solari (20 goals, 12 assists, Av. Per 7.93) and Andrei Arshavin (18 goals, 14 assists, Av. Per 7.97) along with SMFA player of the year Tarik Sektioui have been a cut above the rest the league has to offer. Zenit's fluent attacking play has dominated teams throughout the season and has saw an astonishing 125 goals being scored for Deveney's side. The 100-point barrier was broken by St Petersburg with a final day win and the 101 point-feat has rarely been matched or bettered anywhere in the world. European football will be next on the agenda for this record-breaking outfit as the compete in the SMFA Cup this coming season, joining Newcastle United, Feyenoord and Rapid Wien in Group A. The pressure will be on the side which destroyed domestic football last season, but if the quality of Football can continue from last season then they are bound to turn a few heads across Europe when their time comes.
  17. Re: Gold Championship 6 Match Report Thread Manchester United Welcomes Potential Saviour Earlier today it was announced by Manchester United that they had appointed a new manager in the shape of Luke Deveney, a British manager with a massive task on his hands. Due to an unsavoury past in recent seasons, Manchester United unbelieveably find themselves in the 2nd tier of English football and with a squad seriously depleted from previous quality. Deveney is expected to take them back to the Premiership this season with his new side lying in 3rd with 8 games to go. United's new boss has announced that Rio Ferdinand will be the club captain but if an offer of a 90+ replacement and 2 other suitable 89/90's is shown, then it may be unfortunately accepted as depth is necessary for the side as well as quality.
  18. Re: Pereira Neves DENILSON To be honest' date=' i strongly disagree with this comment mate. Denilson is still a raw talent, a young player who by all means hasn't been a regular first teamer until the start of this season, and although this may not continue when Diaby returns, i still believe he has quite a lot to offer to Arsenal. He is certainly not useless, more of a rough diamond, with good potential and yet still doing well at this moment in time. Playing with someone as inexperienced as Eboue in central midfield also can't of been easy, but i do think the lad is a good player.[/font']
  19. Re: Stick Cricket Well lads round 1 is complete, the points are up on the league view tab, and round 2 has started, so get posting your scores!
  20. Re: Who writes the best match reports?
  21. Re: Who writes the best match reports? Thanks for the support Msissio and Austin, . Love doing the match reports, enjoyable to do and nice to know that some people appreciate what i write. For me it's probably Carbon as his contain superb detail and are great to read, but Dai's and Sparkys are always good too.
