  1. Myself and another manager made bids for David De Gea. He bid 20 mill, he didn't hide his bid, so I bid 30 mill. End result he got the player. Before I continue as far as I was aware (unless there has been a change in the way Soccermanager works that being the club who bids the most get's the player) that is still the case isn't it? Anyway, In my club messages I get the following messages : 1st message - The deal for David DE GEA has collapsed as the squad size of *unmanaged club* will fall below the minimum 21 size limit or the squad size of *my club* is too big or the Club will have too few Goalkeepers. 2nd message - David DE GEA has completed his move to *other managed club* from *unmanaged club* for £20,000,000. All other offers were turned down. How can he complete a move I thought, something doesn't add up. My first thought is, this is a bug. It isn't down to squad size since the club he was at still have 22 players remaining. I can't see how it would be down to the club he was at having too few GK's since I'm sure the transfer wouldn't have gone through anyway. I can't see it being that my squad size is too big, I buy and sell on a daily basis. I couldn't find an answer to what the maximum squad size is - but aside from that - admittedly I do have a large pool of players, in fact in total it's around 250, of that only 53 are first team players. Incidentally this was because I managed to snap up a ton of free agents whom I'm hoping to make a bit of money on so that I can buy more established players. This is why I actually play Soccermanager by the way, the transfer market. Love it! As I've said I think it's more likely to be a bug than any other reason but before I start a bug ticket I thought I'd check on the forum to see what other people's thought's are. Thanks
  2. Re: Chairman's Valuations on CUSTOM game worlds. I agree with your suggestion however I want them to go one giant step further and totally get rid of the maximum limit.
  3. Re: Help With Deal(s) Thread... Bringing in another player is pretty impossible as no one wants to sell anyone. All the high rated players are taken. Money is needed but I'm not in dire need of it at this moment in time. Thanks for the reply
  4. Re: Help With Deal(s) Thread... I've finally got a deal settled to sell Frank Lampard who is in my team, the offer is for £69 million, I just wanted some opinions so is this worth doing?
  5. Re: Players: Should I buy, sell or keep? Cheers guys that's answered my question I'll keep him for now.
  6. Re: Players: Should I buy, sell or keep? I'm not bothered about Giggs purely because I have plenty of other options. I've already got Ozil, Conentrao, Pedro and Robben plus other younger youth players. Just don't want to sell Mata if he has more than the potential to get a rise later in the year because I'd rather sell him for a better price or not sell him at all.
  7. Re: Players: Should I buy, sell or keep? What are Juan Manuel MATA prospects like for the near future? I've received an offer of £25 million for him. Don't need the money but he doesn't really get played as I have Robben and Giggs. With Silva and Villa sold is he likely to be a first team player with many appearances? Should I ask for more money or what?
  8. Re: Help With Deal(s) Thread... Been offered £15 million for Arbeloa . . Good/bad?
  9. Re: Help With Deal(s) Thread... Received an offer of £15 million for Álvaro ARBELOA. That a good price? Is it worth looking for more? Is it worth keeping him? Part Ex is out of the question at the moment so cash only.
  10. Re: Help With Deal(s) Thread... Milito playing well is why I wanted him, there were other decent players but he was my first choice. What about the cash being offered. Currently £15 million. Would £15 million and Milito go through, or should I ask for more money. Van the man is actually on form for me so I would be losing a highly regarded player.
  11. Re: Help With Deal(s) Thread... Guys. Trying to do sort out a deal to sell my Van Nistelrooy. Trying to get a little cash but also a decent player. Managed to get Diego Milito in the deal and the manager has offered cash too. I'm being offered cash + a player I want so not going to say no to it but want to know what kind of deal will go through?
  12. Re: Help With Deal(s) Thread... Received a bid of £16 million for PABLO HERNANDEZ. Is this a decent price to accept? I have Milner and Navas in that position so got cover, don't need especially need the money either but willing to sell him. P/E is not an option so it's down to cash only
  13. Re: Help With Deal(s) Thread... Got another offer I could use help with. Stuck Ballack and Stankovic on the transfer list. Both over 30 both rated 93 and personally don't see either rising any further at this stage. Currently got an offer on the table of £15 million for Stankovic. Again P/E is not an option has to be cash only. Is 15 mill a fair price for Stankovic? What about Ballack what sort of price could he go for? He isn't valued by my chairman at all, in the region of £8 million so don't think I'll get all that much for him. Thanks.
  14. Re: Player Concerns I had a similar thing happen but not related to wages. I had many players unhappy and felt forced to sell most of them. The ones I kept I started playing but despite this those players moved onto level 2 concern which is a disgrace and exactly the kind of thing I warned would happen when player concerns was introduced! It's not on this and I'm really very unhappy and angry about this whole addition. Player(s) get unhappy > You then play them > they then get even more unhappy! Please, explain how in the world that even begins to make sense!
  15. Re: Help With Deal(s) Thread... In a custom setup I have received a bid for Dzeko. I have other better strikers so selling him isn't an issue although if I did want to replace him it would not be easy. The question is though, what is a decent price to accept. The bid's are slowly rising and at the moment It's sitting at £24 million.
  16. Re: Player Concerns Well thanks a bunch for killing the "game". Let's just put that out there not so you know what direction I'm heading in, if you don't want to read a moan stop reading now. It will mean nothing to those who run Soccer Manager obviously but I am now giving serious thought to quitting such is my hatred towards this latest addition. To date all but two out of all the people I knew playing had quit but I stuck with it. I kept at it building my squads, squads capable of winning the league. the cups and the shield. I love wheeling and dealing I love that side of the beautiful game, I also like nay LOVE winning, nice little sense of pride and accomplishment you know but this feels more like a punishment. I mean the whole player concern thing overall Player concerns over wages? Demanding more money, money I just don't have. Yeah thanks a bunch guys. And you have the cheek to ask people to PAY for this!? You want realism? Then " Player Farming " as you call it is a necessity. Some clubs especially lower league teams NEED to be able to snap up cheap players and sell at a profit yes you say this doesn't stop " buying risers " but I disagree because it doesn't feel like it. Some of these youngsters might never even see the first team but that's the way it works. This is going to simply cripple some peoples clubs finances it just makes you feel like you are fighting a losing battle. Moving on. I've just had to increase the wages of 3 of my top performers when they had already not long ago been given new 5 year deals. You think that is fair, it **** well is not. Running costs are going to flipping skyrocket! See this thread as just one example of how people will suffer - http://forum.soccermanager.com/showthread.php?p=893198#post893198 - and personally I don't see why we should have to, and I really feel this is the case, sell some of these players. I myself love to rotate. I do it for every single game I play, for all three teams I manage. I like to think a fully fit squad will do wonders for me. Without players on the bench and younger players to back them up, well I'm boned. Particularly regarding contracts I always worked on the basis that I let a contract run down to 1 year left then gave the player a new 5 year deal but that is going straight out the window. And what about young " Hot Prospects ". If I want to buy someone young who in the real world is going places but is himself limited to a handful of First team appearances then he is going to be exactly the same on SM if for no other reason that we all have higher rated and better players who just like in real life get in the team ahead of them. I am .. disappointed .. at the way this " game " has become. There were some good developments that came in but this sways the completely opposite way. I'm a silent one me I read threads, observe what's going on and follow interesting threads/discussions etc but never really throw in my opinion however this I make an exception for. Although partially coincidental as I needed the money I feel I've had no option but to sell some players, decent high rated ones at that. Between mass complaints and then mass wage increases I can't cope with it all it's too much within such a short space of time. Can't shake my head enough. There is so much more I could say on the matter but I won't go on any longer. I know I'm moaning about it but I'm not happy with it. I want to add one more thing though. I DO realise how difficult a job those developing this " game " have particularly with regard to excessive squad sizes but something like that can be easily fixed by limiting, and I really mean limiting the squad sizes. Something so harsh and punishing as this player concerns nonsense is going in the completely wrong direction as far as I am concerned. I haven't even touched on the what others have mentioned regardind the relation betwen a players rating/age/concern and wage! Such a disappointment. (sorry it's so long by the way)
  17. Re: Help With Deal(s) Thread... That's what I was thinking. My second choice is/would be Mascherano.
  18. Re: Help With Deal(s) Thread... I have the following Defensive Midfielders in my team : Marcos Senna, Mascherano, Xabi Alonso and Yaya Toure. I need more cash and there real life clubs are bidding on all bar Toure. I want to sell as I don't need 4 Dm's but who do I sell that's where I'm stuck. With Villareal and Liverpool doing bad this season will those two players go down in the ratings ? Real Madrid are fine so I would think Xabi Alonso won't go down in the ratings changed will he ? If anything will Toure go UP in rating ? I just need to know who to sell.
  19. Re: Unmanaged teams buying from your team? You are not alone in finding this! I signed in to do my teams for tonights games and noticed that 4 of the players I have transfer listed have bids in for them . . by the clubs they play for in real life. Moreover these clubs, in the league I am talking about are unmanaged but available teams that someone can takeover! Now this is new, 100% sure of that because until right not this has never happened before. External clubs yes, unavailable clubs yes, but never a club that is listed as just " Unmanaged ". Great thing is that whilst I certainly don't need the money they are all offering VERY good sums of money that I am tempted to take ETA: in my case Werder want Frings back. Bayern (who's manager just recently quit!) want Demechlis back. Atletico Madrid want Ujfalusi back and Villa want Ashley Young back!
  20. Re: Help With Deal(s) Thread... 18 million for Bojan, is that a good deal? Was holding out for between 20-25 personally . . .
