With eight games left, Fulham FC, widely regarded as relegation candidates, are on the verge of finishing in the top four for the first time in their history, under the guidance of manager James Burrow.
The Cottagers are currently on 60 points, 9 points off leaders Liverpool and 3 behind London neighbours Chelsea. Manchester United make up the rest of the 'Big Four' with regular Big Four member Arsenal languishing in 11th place, and are in danger of missing out on European football altogether.
Fulham's rise to the top of the league has been fuelled by a ten game unbeaten run which is ongoing, after a 1-1 draw against bottom club Hull City. The stalwart of the Fulham team is keeper Mark Schwarzer, who has kept a cleansheet on 16 occasions, including against Manchester United twice and Manchester City.
Manager Burrow has constructed a team capable of challenging for the league title on a shoe string budget, with the majority of signings involving part-exchange deals. The club's record signing for this season goes two players, Semih Senturk and Jeremain Lens, both for £5.2m. The two of them have yet to make a league appearance, such has been the form of the previous strikers. Other plays brought in include Jelle Van Damme (£5m) Adam Lallana (£3m) Marc Wilson (£4m) Marcus Pedersen (£4m) and Roman Eremenko (p/e with Andy Johnson) Loaned players include Nicky Shorey, Jonathan Greening and Stefano Okaka.
Leaving the club with Andy Johnson are striker David Elm (£3m) Fredrik Stoor (£3m) and Robert Milson (nominal fee) Loaned out players include Diomansy Kamara, Bjorn Helge Riise, and Eddie Johnson.
Fulham's top scorer is Bobby Zamora, with 9 goals in 21 league appearances. With four goals each, Clint Dempsey, Jonathan Greening and Stefano Okaka share second place at the moment, with Aaron Hughes (3) Erik Nevland, Chris Baird (both 2) and eight players (1) completing the goalscorers chart.
Fulham's next game is a London derby against an underachieving Tottenham Hotspur, who with eight games left are only one point off the relegation places. Despite strengthening the squad with signings such as Angel Di Maria (£10m) and Thiago Silva (£9m) the loss of Heurelho Gomes to Newcastle (£8m) has been the source of the club's downfall, with deputy Carlo Cudicini an unsuitable replacement in goal, with heavy defeats against Manchester United and Liverpool cancelling out narrow wins over bottom half teams. In their last meeting in the league, Fulham won 2-1 at Craven Cottage, with Bobby Zamora scoring twice, with Luka Modric's solitary goal not enough.
May I just add, no posting on here unless you are also in the setup
i would do this deal , Lukaku wont get 90 while at belgium ( i dont think he will be there long) and the next changes if muller does what he has being doing all season 90 is easy for him then will keep going up
but Lukaku maybe a better prospect
Re: Turkish Database - Ask me anything
Long-term I'd go for Cumali Bisi' date=' Atinc and Arslan.
Short-term, Cenk Guvenc and Odabasi.
It's possible, seeing as they're going to be in the Champions League group stages, but that's if he continues to do well in Europe and Bursaspor repeat or have a similar success to last season.
Re: Official Red Devils thread
THIS is correct ^^^
I've seen this kid enough @ Chivas to know he is your 3rd best striker today.
The other thing to consider is the M-A-S-S-I-V-E amount of money that United is going to rake in from the sales of shirts/kits that read "Chicharito" on the back. Don't be surprised when his kit is the #2 sold for all the United players this year. Every Mexican from Chicago to Paris is going to buy that kit.
Don't you think that it's more likely that a guy like Macheda is going to get loaned out ?
Re: UEFA Euro u19 Championship - Scouting
Worth a quick heads up....(today)
England Vs Team Kakuta (K/0 6pm on Eurosport2) with the second half I am guessing in HD on Eurosport HD at 7pm.
I hope the England team have purchased some reinforced underpants.
Re: Players: Should I buy, sell or keep?
hell no lol... busquets could get 92 next round now thats he's a regular and performing well even though some say he's overated but he's not he eats the midfield up..
as for pedro " you already know he's good " .. if you have 2 other better dm's than busquets then use busquets but if not then try something else.
