Re: Your First Ever SM Club. Where Are They Now? Still Manage Them?
My first club was FC Dallas. I had no idea what I was doing and nothing about soccer..and the club stunk. I am a massive reggae fan, so I fired the whole natural roster and picked up all Jamaicans I was able to afford this over this hill Brazilian defensive midfielder named Ricardo Bovio because I thought Brazilians were the best players in the world. He was like 27 yrs and 84 rated. But he scored more than anyone else on the team. I finished the season like 15th. So I quit FC Dallas and left the Jamaicans behind. From there I crossed the ocean and picked up European clubs, but I kept Ricardo Bovio wherever I went..he was my go to guy..When I started picking up clubs with 90 rated players..I still brought Ricardo..I would put him in a few matches..mostly for sentimental reasons and he was horrible..lots of performance numbers of 5. Ricardo just was not able to play in the big leagues. Finally I let him go somewhere around Rochdale, England or Gornik Leczna in Poland. In real life Ricardo is still playin ball..he is now 32 and plays for Goyatacaz in Rio de Janiero, Brazil. He is a 13 year veteran with 5 goals to his name.

If the concept of 'best managers' or manager points is going to exist in the game then it might as well mean something. At the moment more or less all it tells you is who has been playing the game longest.
In one of the game worlds I am in the manager of leeds has managed to get a team containing Van Persie, Reus, De Gea and a host of other players rated 90 +, relegated to the third division. Yet he is rated as one of the top ten managers in the game. And this is a game world where 80+% of the teams are taken.
The points system should be changed so that you get no points for just hanging around. Some for a win, more for a draw and minus points for each loss. The idea of getting more points for beating a higher rated team is good but there should also be extra bonus points for winning things and final league positions/long runs in cups depending on the clubs expectation. For example taking a very small club and getting them promoted from the 4th to the 1st division should gain a manager more points than finishing 2nd in the first division with Chelsea every season.
Its quite a small aspect of the game (and one I imagine most manager dont even care about at all at the moment) But I think that if it were improved it could add some extra competitiveness between managers.

What is the shape of your outfit?..are you in need of cash, is he in your starting lineup currently or in reserve?
If everything is overall comfortable at your club, my opinion is keep him. He is a very good young player. He is well liked by team mates and sets-up/assist very well on the pitch. Really good technique good control and scoring ability on solo long runs and a big left scoring foot on long shots. Delph has had a couple of injuries already, I believe one was an extensive recovery knee injury. He seems to be well recovered. If he was mine I would keep, a leader and big player..at 25 his value is only going to increase.

Quick bash at my predictions for the top 10 teams for next season.
1st - Derby - Is there any question?
2nd - Man Utd - Won the title by two points, should be close again
3rd - Aston Villa - Finished the season with great form, will be the surprise package
4th - Sunderland - Has enough quality for another good season
5th - Everton - Wont be pushing for the league, but has enough quality to be a force
6th - Arsenal - Back in the big league, Messi will inspire them to a good return finish
7th - Midd'brough - Goz has brought stability with Brough, expect a solid season
8th - Preston - "The mid-table team". No success is on the cars, but Neuer will prevent any dilemmas
Ran out of time.. il finish it later. Any chance of any other predictions?

    DIVISION 4 REVIEW- MATCHDAY 27-PT 1
Shrewsbury Town are back on top after a 2-1 win at Accrington Stanley. Bruno put the Shrews in front but Morata equalised for Stanley just before the break. Kane wrapped up the points for Shrewsbury with a goal after fifty six minutes.
Bournemouth are down to second after being held to a 2-2 draw at home to Burton Albion. Things started badly for the Cherries when Stepinski scored for Burton with only two minutes on the clock but Berahini levelled for Bournemouth just after the half hour.Srna gave Albion the advantage again in the second half but the home side kept pressing and levelled with a minute to play when Lacazette scored.
Wolverhampton Wanderers stay third despite going down 1-0 at home to Cardiff City. Bonaventura got the winner for City in the first half.
Fourth placed Southend United travelled to Southampton and hammered the Saints 7-2. Labyad and Mehmedi scored twice for the Shrimpers with Jojic,Falque and Sissoko adding to the rout. Gomez and Pledl scored for Southampton.
Sheffield Wednesday climbed to fifth with a 4-1 win at home to basement boys Oldham Athletic. Beister got two of the Owls goals with Zandaris and Rico also on the scoresheet. Martinez netted for Oldham.

Wow!..this was news to me. I knew this guy had something to do with the bringing together of this set up..but seemed to be a few guys working to help get it going in the begining. My opinion..Yes, you quit to early. Dont know what the isssue was..but, whatever it was you've been playing for 5 years. You where very familiar with the ups and downs of SM. Sounds like you just had an evening of blowing your top and in your moment of rage gave up your club, or your just burn out.
Ive been playing for a couple of years now and I know this is a great setup. I have not won a match yet with my Leyton Orient, but im not gonna quit. I have won lots of trophies in the general EC's and I can generally run the same formation and tactics in those set ups and finish 1st or 2nd every time. I cant do it in this set up, and there is a reason. In the general EC's that are only 30% manager filled..it's smooth sailing until I play a managed club that has a thoughtout formation and tactic. SM will put a squad together with the numbers example..(a CB rated 87 that is 36 years old will play the match) a rl manager will probably change the old dude out for the 21 year old 85 rated CB. My point is its the small changes that make the difference. I like this difference that I can see..I still believe it's a good system. I have felt cheated in a match every now and then when my club performed overall at a 7.62 and the opponent a 6.22 whoops me 2-0. Im irked, but I just shrug it off as "hey, we played great,,we just didnt score."
Im losing now, but I know why...its because every club in the setup has a manager and im not playing the robot. There is some thought or change even as little as it may be with the opponent that makes it a little more difficult than the SM generator, so Im not going to be able to run my basic favorite. I actually believe there are managers in here that go and look at my last match and see what I ran and adjust their formation and tactics to counter. That is awsome! It makes it challenging like it's suppose to be. I sold off and traded every player on my club in the beggining. I looked at my money..did not have a lot..and thought about what I could do. I did straight trades with my old 84's for younger 80's with their arrows up and went to odd nations to get them so that I would not have any bidding competition. I did not spend a dime for my major players. Then I picked a few 10K 70 rated young players as backups. So overall I spent maybe $110,000. Nothing out of the box in that strategy for a Division 4 club. All the other managers in this set up did that or something else. Awsome! Thats what makes it great.
The match reports thread here is great!..all the reports over there have been fantastic..I love it. It doesnt get any better. If your going to take the time to play..this is the type setup you want be in. If you leave and continue to play..you will regret it once you get in your new boring one:D. Whoever is running this now..and all the other managers..your doing a great job..Lots of people want to get in this one..there is a reason why.

Colchester battled back to earn themselves the 1st draw

Karl Duguid who celebrate after his 1st season goal for Colchester United

The home side had to work hard to keep themselves in the game after falling behind in the first half, but that resolve was rewarded with a strong finish to the match. They dragged themselves back onto the front foot and, after Karl Duguid silenced the visiting support with twenty minutes to go, Colchester United could almost have won it themselves.
New captain arrived Weston Homes Community Stadium

Colchester United offered the unattached veteran midfielder a contract after being made aware of his interest in a transfer to club
Manager Daniel believes the 35-year-old has the pedigree to strengthen the Colchester squad. Karagounis captained the Greece team that qualified against the odds for the Euro 2012 quarter-finals. The manager also believes that Karagounis will lead the whole team and bring a success season for Colchester United.
