  1. Re: Npower League 1 and 2 Official Thread you're this years surprise package then? So long as it's not at our expense ps in answer to your question. no!
  2. Re: Npower League 1 and 2 Official Thread Even if it was against ten men that was an amazing difference from last season. Nice movement, passing, trickery and some pace! Hope that Millers back soon or that Taylor gets a chance ahead of Porter as his finishing isn't up to being the lone striker.
  3. Re: Npower League 1 and 2 Official Thread Sorry Dom, I just think your chairmans set you up horrendously for the new season with loosing some good players and giving MacDonald mos of preseason then sacking him...there's normally a bit of a surprise with relegated teams and I think you'll be it this season (sorry again! )
  4. Re: Npower League 1 and 2 Official Thread How odd...maybe a year out of date Anyway... What's everyone's predictions for the Sky Bet League One/Two? I have no idea about league two but my L1 predictions... Bristol City Sheffield United Peterborough Preston Rotherham Wolves (p) . . . Port Vale Swindon Walsall Crewe
  5. Re: Npower League 1 and 2 Official Thread Lyle Taylor signs from Falkirk, didnt do anything at Bournemouth prior to falkirk but he scored 29 in 41 for them last season, when everyones fit... Long McMahon Collins Maguire Hill -----------Doyle---------- Murphy----McDonald----Brandy -------Taylor----Miller------ Pretty decent first team IMO and we've got some good back-up players (for this level) everywhere bar LB i'd say and depending how Jasper Johns plays he could be pushing Hill for a start. Hope we dont sell anyone now (bar maybe Porter, Doyle and Williams) and cant wait to see how we
  6. Re: Npower League 1 and 2 Official Thread Swindon searching for a new manager? Pretty poor timing (not that Blades can talk )
  7. Re: Npower League 1 and 2 Official Thread Lee Carsley and Adam Owen are joint assistant managers under D.Weir as his backroom staff are taking shape. Owen has a very good reputation for his conditiong fo players to aid fitness and lower injuries. No idea about Carsley as a coach...maybe the Cov fans on here can help? My only worry with Weir as a manager atm is that we've got a lot of defenders in the coaching set-up but no attackers (Weir, Carsley, Morgan and Unsworth).
  8. Re: Npower League 1 and 2 Official Thread Heard the rumour about you and Davies a couple of days ago. Would be a great signing for anyone in this league, a model pro and a staunch Blade fan to top it off
  9. Re: Npower League 1 and 2 Official Thread Took us ages to get Weir in as manager but he hasn't hung around with signings with 4 players announced today on permanent contracts: Jasper Johns (left back): we desparately need a left-back. Don't know much about him but Weir obviously will due to the EFC conections so will go with him on this one. Sean McGinty (center back): Jurys out, if he can keep himself out of trouble then hopefully he'll refind the form that earned him a pro contract with Man Utd. Stephen McGinn (center mid/Winger/forward): Sounds promising as he was a Watford regular befo
  10. Re: Npower League 1 and 2 Official Thread NEW MANAGER AT LAST!!! 5 weeks after defeat to Yeovil we at last have a new manager-David Weir. After names such as Robert Page, Chris Morgan and Walley Downes were at the top of the bookies list for the last week or so I'm delighted. OK he's unproven but something about this appointment just seems right...Dont know if its the fact he's got a good reputation, that he's young, that he's not got any previous ties to us or the curry I had last night; I've just got a good feeling about this. Moyes wanted to take him to Man Utd with him and reckons
  11. Re: Npower League 1 and 2 Official Thread hmmm... sounds like our new sponsor is going to be Wonga. Unfortunately. We really are a joke club at the minute. "Blade through thin and thinner"
  12. Re: Npower League 1 and 2 Official Thread Well we still don't have a manager but apparently we should hear on Monday at the latest now. However it doesn't sound like good news We've gone from Robinson to McCall to Jackett to Southgate and now local media are reporting that its a two horse race between an unknown person and Robert Page (Port Vales assistant manager who's never managed) who apparently impressed at interview. Oh, dear. Our club only seem to do appointments with Sheffield connections so Page ticks that box as he used to be our captain :/ One plus with Page is that whilst at C
  13. Re: Npower League 1 and 2 Official Thread Its a horrible way to go out but out of the 4teams in the play-offs couldn't help but feel they'd be the better in this league should they stay down so hope they do it at Wembley.

  16. Re: Npower League 1 and 2 Official Thread oh Brentford, their poor poor fans
  17. Re: Npower League 1 and 2 Official Thread the feelings mutual We didnt deserve to go up this season and cant have any complaints. Theres players out there today that arent worth paying, when you look at what they'll be on compared to the opposition it's staggering. Need to get the managerial appointment right to stand any chance at all next season and a massive clear out (unfortunately that envolves someone being daft enough to buy any of our players XD ) gotta love the play-offs though (unless you're a Blade )
  18. Re: Npower League 1 and 2 Official Thread yeah it did haha. What a dire game today! typically boring and both keepers only had one meaningful save to make  hope our game next seasons better with yourselves! Well done donny rovers. sounded like a dead boring game (brentford v donny) then in the last 17seconds (of stoppage time). Brentford get penalty: penalty hits cross bar, donny break, donny score, donny champions. If brentford scored the penalty donny wouldnt have even gone up! top 6: Donny Bournemouth Brentford Yeovil Sheff Utd Swindon aside from ourselves we are proba
  19. Re: Npower League 1 and 2 Official Thread we'll need it after our recent showings XD Keith Treacy' date=' fantastic goal...thats about the only good I can say about him now (after last season and someone showing me that picture :vomit: ) actually I dont think it was treacy, think it was some random RB we had but anyways it was a good goal all the same! It was Jean Calve who ahsnt played since leaving us last April.
  20. Re: Npower League 1 and 2 Official Thread so the final league games upon us. Good season, bad season? Still got the POs to us and (although I dont expect it) we have one last chance of redemption as without promotion this season can only be seen as abject failure. What about the others we support?
  21. Re: Npower League 1 and 2 Official Thread so you agree with me then? haha im confused only thing thats for sure is if we play like we did last night (cant believe I went) we wont get anywhere near wembley PO final heartbreak again :/
