Re: Official Liverpool Thread
haha sucks for a few people now as they can't rant about LFC
Seriously tho guys, we just smashed Everton , we are doing well and we didn't really need another winger, why such negativity?
At some point you have to just be happy with the direction the club is going in, stop ranting and moaning about everything and just enjoy the bloody season.
Wasn't that long ago we had Hodgson in charge, was closer to relegation than the CL, had players like Konchesky and Polsen and had horrific owners, are people seriously not going to be happy unless we are just signing loads of players, only in the CL and competing for the title? really?
Regardless, the window is closed now, lets just get behind the team and enjoy the rest of the season
Re: Rate/Discuss Recent Films You HAVE Seen
Just finished watching all the films I got for Christmas
Pain & Gain
A trio of bodybuilders in Florida get caught up in an extortion ring and a kidnapping scheme that goes terribly wrong.
Huge huge fan of this film, might be my favourite film of all time. Based on a true story but takes a comedic view of it (Pretty controversial in US), Mark Wahlberg is fantastic and him and The Rock work brilliantly together as a comedy duo, Anthony Mackie ain't that good though and doesn't even look like he's lifted a weight next to Wahlberg and Rock. If you're into the lifting scene you'll get some of the jokes otherwise it may be lost on you, slow to get started but when it gets started it's absolutely fantastic, recommend a watch for sure.
'A father goes undercover for the DEA in order to free his son who was imprisoned after being set up in drug deal.'
Also a very good watch, great action film which is The Rocks forte when it comes down to it, also has Shane from The Walking Dead in so two of my favourite actors right there, again slow to get started but when the action starts it is pretty full on. If you're a fan of mindless violence with a fairly good story you'll enjoy.
'Southland Tales is an ensemble piece set in the futuristic landscape of Los Angeles on July 4, 2008, as it stands on the brink of social, economic and environmental disaster. Boxer Santaros...'
Clever, clever, clever film, good cast as well, story is pretty difficult to follow at first as it is a constant interchanging within 3 peoples story but all are relevant to each other and it really comes together.
'Alexander, the King of Macedonia and one of the greatest military leaders in the history of warfare, conquers much of the known world.'
Erm, not sure what to say about this film apart from it's so historically inaccurate in parts it's annoying for any historian who's studied Alexander. The casting of Colin Farrell means they needed to make EVERY Macedonian an Irish actor. Once you get past that the productions decision to constantly move from his early life to his later life back to his early life to his even earlier life and back to the future makes it an absolute mess. Key moments are dramatised to make it better on screen eg Bucephalus died of old age rather than in battle with Alexander as depicted on screen. The battle scenes are pretty epic though. I couldn't get past the way they organised the film out although the acting is good in places it wasn't the most enjoyable thing i've watched.
Re: The Random Thread
Construction worker on the 5th floor of a building needed a handsaw. So he spots another worker on the ground floor and yells down to him, but he can't hear him. So the worker on the 5th floor tries sign language. He pointed to his eye meaning "I", pointed to his knee meaning "need", then moved his hand back and forth in a hand saw motion. The man on the ground floor nods his head, pulls down his pants, whips out his chop and starts masturbating.
The worker on 5th floor gets so angry he runs down to the ground floor and says, "What the hell is your problem!!! I said I needed a hand saw!".
The other guy says, "I knew that! I was just trying to tell you - I'm coming!"
