  1. Re: Russian and Ukraine Player Analysis is danilo neco any good. he sounds like a donkey but if he'll rise like his top scoring exploits in russia suggest, maybe he's worth picking up?
  2. hello guys, please can someone post me a link to or let me know how the priority system works in the game? allow me to give an example so it can be explained and i can understand it and feed it back to the 40 people playing in my game world (ID 172083). two managers made a bid for a player. the person that offered the bare minimum got a player ahead of the other that made an offer over 2m greater. these were both cash offers to a player that was a free agent. so...how does this work? and is the transfer priority different for free agents than it is for cash/swaps with external clubs? thanks for any forthcoming reply :-)
  3. Hey, I'm just about to setup a new game for some mates I work with...I was going to do a flip around of putting the best teams at the bottom and the weak ones at the top. I just had a though though - will this mean that the tv revenue is less at the top division? or does it change each season depending on the strength of the league? Or is the tv revenue static for every league, every season no matter the strength of the teams as they move divisions? I've no idea what makes up the tv revenue, I am guessing its the average ratings of the top players at the clubs...I am hoping it changes but maybe it doesn't??
  4. Re: PORTUGAL – 1st and 2nd Division extensive thread - Discussion Thread http://forum.soccermanager.com/showthread.php?t=44596&page=2 it says 89 > 90 it would only be "probable" if it said 89 > 89/90 or 89 > 90/89 when you see predictions made by forumers you can interpret the rises as the following: 89 > 90 = definite rise 89 > 90/89 = probable rise = greater than 50% chance 89 > 89/90 = possible rise = less than 50% chance
  5. Re: Any 89 rated wing/am that will rise to 90 Shaqiri within a year if he moves out of Switzerland.
  6. I have these guys in my team of french players and are the ones im most worried about ratings going down. what chances are their for all three to get -1's this review? anyone with a good idea about french nationals I'd appreciate some insight/opinion. i'm convinced all three could go down to 91 but second opinion reqd. thx!
  7. Re: 90 rated keepers to rise... Samir Handanovic 89 > 90. i'm hoping he will achieve it given Udinese's good form. he's been a reliable stopper the past few seasons and eserves to be 90 even if he doesnt get it. Joe Hart 91 > 92 has to be a possbility. not sure he can go higher than 92 for another year tho since the likes of Valdes is 'only' 93 for the best club side in the world. that said, Hart is an england regular - not that it means too much given the rest of the goalkeeping compeititon in the EPL - but England did just beat spain and results wise have been very consistent lately. 92 has to be a possiblity and if he does go up then... Manuel Neuer has to be worth going from 92 > 93 methinks.
  8. hi guys....dunno if someone out there has a decent idea of the portuguese NT and their players but for my team im trying to decide who to sign out of Silvio or Joao Pereira. Both are touted for rises - Silvio to 89 and Pereira to 90. but who is the more likely of the two? All i know is that Atletico Madrid have been struggling so is it a stone-wall certainty that Silvio will get an 89? Joao Pereira is the first choice RB currently for Portugal ahead of both Bosingwa and Silvio himself (i think Silvio has been keeping bosingwa out of the squad until recently, tho that may have only been cos of injuries). anyway, i could really use some help here, but if Bosingwa is a non-starter for portugal and is rated 91 (though playing for a top european team, which i appreciate) then is Joao Pereira more certain to rise from 89 to 90 than Silvio is from 88 to 89? many thanks if you can help me out here.
  9. Re: Serie A - Ratings Prediction 2010/2011 (II) thx. i just wondered. tho people are taking about marchisio etc going up and Juve are not in any euro comp...so its a bit weird if Udinese players cant. maybe thats due to the club coefficient or something?
  10. Re: Serie A - Ratings Prediction 2010/2011 (II) hi fellas, what chance is their of... Armero 89 > 90 Isla 89 > 90 Asamoah 89 > 90 i think armero to 90 is surely a certainty? which must mean a few others at Udinese must have a chance too. thx.
  11. Re: French Ligue 1 & 2 (Risers Edition) yes. i think most likely he will rise to 80/82. depends how generous SM are feeling for the 82. he has got 400 minutes almost for lorient and he's capped for costa rica with 2 goals from 8 caps. if he becomes a regular then he could rise further before the season finishes.
  12. Re: French Ligue 1 & 2 (Risers Edition) i think mendy will either stay an 84 or drop to 83. Monaco are bottom of Ligue 2 and its most likely that most of the senior players will suffer drops. the younger ones might stay, but mendy could drop to 83, but the good news is that he has played every game almost this season. if i had a monaco player i would probably sell them unless they were a youth prospect.
  13. im thinking of creating a league to combine the far south eastern europe regions of turkey, greece, cyprus and israel. the turkish and greek leagues always seem pretty full so i think a really competitive setup can be created by combining both with multiple leagues and cups. cyprus included as its on the up and also israel - and both those standard world leagues often fill up too if there is enough interest then i shall create it. i might even include some maltese teams aswell.
  14. Re: PORTUGAL – 1st and 2nd Division extensive thread - Discussion Thread actually I had heard of alverca' date=' but only because deco had played their. i'd have no idea on their recent club history or anything like that. it is amazing the rise of some of those players you listed, most notably Nani for me. I suppose their is talent in all lower leagues and nani is a great example. maybe alex oxlade-chamberlain will be a similar example in a few seasons of a player going from level 3 football to being a regular in a top side. it really is nice to see in any league, not just portugal or england, when players can still forge a top career even playing a few levels lower. i guess these success stories must drive a lot of those players to succeed in the low levels, and you're right, its proof that it doesnt matter how good a league is ranked or rated, good players will always rise to the surface no matter what standard they are playing at. thanks for that.
  15. Re: PORTUGAL – 1st and 2nd Division extensive thread - Discussion Thread thanks dp. i see what you mean. it is a bit harsh that given the success of the top portuguese teams that its surprising that the rating caps are'nt higher. this is what im trying to understand...is the cap set how it is in portugal because that is SM's view of the strength of the league overall? otherwise surely Porto, Benfica and Sporting should achieve the same cap as Lille, as you suggest. you would probably say that france is stronger and more of an even playing field throughout the league...BUT...in the past 5 seasons france has produced 13 different teams to play in europe and in comparison portugal has produced 11. so, you look at that i suppose and say there isnt much difference. if france was a stronger competition then it would have a greater number of teams playing in europe over the past 5 years. as you point out, portugal's teams' record in europe stands up pretty well against most leagues. I suppose if there isn't an increase in either the ratings of the other teams and/or the cap for the top ones then SM probably has a somewhat traditional ranking of the leagues - that being the best leagues are england, italy, spain, germany and france and stick to their own theories rather than anything else (i.e the coefficient league ranking). it'd be a shame if thats the case though, leagues should definitely move with the times I agree with that. I still think france is a stronger competition than portugal but maybe i'm just being traditionalist?! i hope you're right though, and good work with the ratings, i hope gaitan gets the +2! sorry for the long post. lol' date=' shame they dont! actually thats a really good point. btw, hugo viana really has improved since he played over here. to be fair he was very young when he made the move and it was probably a culture shock, but he's turned into a great player the past few seasons. I rate olberdam actually, he's a player i've always picked up in footie manager, has some good stats.

  17. Re: 60-74 risers (divided into leagues) hey glory, any idea when the next aussie review would likely be? im assuming the aussie league is only reviewed once per year (at best perhaps?). good thread so far btw. lots of players, be interesting to see what some go up to. really is good for those on a low budget. it really is about time slovenia and slovakia were done. and some other smaller leagues in europe too, ireland hasnt been done since i can remember.
  18. Re: PORTUGAL – 1st and 2nd Division extensive thread - Discussion Thread level on points with braga i think?
  19. Re: PORTUGAL – 1st and 2nd Division extensive thread - Discussion Thread hang on, get your facts right....read your quoted bold letters again. i didnt say the teams were rubbish mate, the competition is, that was my point. all these teams field second XI's for the most part, atleast until the later knockout rounds. i do not think PSG, atletico madrid and sporting are rubbish teams lets get that straight. none of them treat the competition with much seriousness until the later rounds. did you see the team spurs sent out last week. so...thats that cleared up.
  20. Re: PORTUGAL – 1st and 2nd Division extensive thread - Discussion Thread hey DP, just out of curiosity....do SM really base much on the UEFA coefficient. I mean, i'm thinking out of the box here but here me out.... I honestly dont think the UEFA coefficients are much to judge anything by - and shouldnt be. I have serious doubts and scepticism whether SM consider them much? Portugal is of course the 5th best league according to the rankings, but i still feel personally that it is equal 6th along with a host of middle-standard leagues like belgium, ukraine and russia. lets be honest, the EL is a pretty worthless competition, a losers competition really since all the CL dropouts filter into it. so if that becomes a basis for argument that portugal is the 5th best league in europe then its a false economy isn't it? im pretty sure the ukraine reached some stupidly lofty coefficient ranking when shakhtar and kiev were in the EL final too. the bottom line is france is a better league league than portugal no matter what the coefficient rankings are but what will SM think? i've no idea, hence the conundrum and raised doubt. apart from 3 portuguese teams the championship in england is probably a stronger league than portugal. so, given Birmingham City's appearance in the EL....if they got far should all the birmingham and other championship players be rated at around the 88 level? of course not. SM are'nt going to start rating championship players in england 88's just because birmingham do reasonably well in the EL, they will stay at around the 85 cap that they always have, barring the odd exception. So, my thought is portugal wont get a major ratings boost for its lesser teams, just the big three (plus braga maybe)...simply because otherwise there would then be clamour for the championship to be rated better. common sense tells you SM will just what they do best and be conservative. i'm not stating fact here i'm merely just trying to raise debate and ask the question as to SM's perspective of the strength of not just the portuguese league, but all of them. the way i see it, which is somewhat 'conservative' perhaps...i think its about right that braga players are rated around the 86-88 bracket, top sporting and benfica players 87-90 ish and porto up to 91. then the rest in the top half rated no more than the same cap as the championship, 85. and the lesser teams in the division 80-83. if all the lower teams started getting better ratings you'd probably have to question why its the case. thoughts? i'm only raising this simpy because I noticed some of the ratings rises that have been suggested are simply on the back of portugal now being 5th in the coefficient list. is this really enough for SM to raise the profile of its portuguese ratings? thats all im asking in a long winded way!
  21. Re: Results are unrealistic !!!! man of the match is a random element of the game, Sean, as are the ratings of players. SM have said this before. this sort of thing is what developers would call a 'feature' of the game...i.e 'we know about it and are not going to do anything about it'. maybe this will change when the new match engine comes about.
  22. Re: PORTUGAL – 1st and 2nd Division extensive thread - Discussion Thread For the benefit of the thread, before bombarding DP with questions of "will XXXX rise or drop", click on the player ratings predictions below as puiblished by DP himself. It just saves endless posts and questions...most answers can probably be found by clicking on the relevant link to the team that the player you have a query about plays for. I've re-quoted this since the previous one has disappeared back by about 2 pages now, seems some people can't be bothered to scan back that many pages...so....
