  1. Re: World Championship 11111 Discussion thread

They've sold all of their players or externals' date=' so nothing shady. Apart from 1 which they sold to me, because i convinced them to decline the external deal and accept mine :D[/quote']

I realize he's sold predominantly to externals - I didn't mean 'shady' that way...

It just seems like he's destroying his team for no purpose.

  2. Re: Help With Deal(s) Thread...

    Would like one more opinion?

    Cheers.

Otamendi > Djourou. No doubt whatsoever.

I'm giving him - Alvaro Arbeloa and Sami Khedira

He's giving me - Alexis Sanchez

Is this a good deal? It looks good to me but when i see the total value difference' date=' he's getting 23m and i'm getting 13m

Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance[/quote']

A very good deal IMO. Neither of the Madrid players are considered starters while Sanchez seems to be adjusting to Barcelona's style extremely fast. I wouldn't be surprised if he sent Pedro to the bench this season.

    David Ospina or Handanovic?

    Handanovic for me.

  3. Re: fake account used to delay transfer

I have come across such behavior in the past and from my experience, using the 'Multiple Accounts' option to report the manager(s) in question is pretty much useless. This because the multiple accounts get deleted while the main one remains.

Sending a ticket with as much detail as possible will give you a better chance of getting the manager removed from the game world.

  4. Re: Help With Deal(s) Thread...

I've had a bid accepted on Fabregas where I'll give Torres and Ambrosini..

Torres is my best forward although I do have Gomez and Hernandez (also Higuain although he plays wide)..

    Fabregas would replace Ambrosini..

    Anyone reckon I should cancel?

    -----

Also got another offer' date=' Carvalho+Contento for my Clichy? I have Capdevila as another LB, but only play 3 at the back.[/quote']

    I'd do both deals.

Fabregas is a major upgrade to Ambrosini and as much as it pains me to say, Torres seems to be on a free fall.

As for the second deal, you'd be getting a very safe 93 with an outside shot at a 94 for a player that might not end up as a starter for Manchester City (if Kolarov finds his Seria A form). Contento is just an add-on you can sell once his TB is up, or you can hold on to him until the next Bundesliga changes with the hopes of a rise.

Nilmar or Gameiro and Andre Ayew for Gomez.

    Iv got Gomez :)

I'd take Gameiro and Ayew simply because it seems as though Gameiro will cement himself as a starter for his national team' date=' while Nilmar faces an excessive amount of competition.

Pedro+David Silva+7M for Cr.Ronaldo?I would be getting Ronaldo.

I'd accept. I've seen deals worth a lot more for Ronaldo rejected.

  5. Re: EC Anno Domini - General Discussion, Banter etc

    Middlesbrough 1 - 2 Burnley

We needed a miracle to avoid relegation. We had to beat division 2 champions (Jooles' Middlesbrough) and had to hope Preston North End drew or lost.

I decided to play a defensive 4-5-1 with 9 players waiting in my own area or as Mourinho would say, I decided to park the bus on my goal. My aim with this was simply not to concede any goals and if lucky enough, score on a counter. Although we did end up conceding 1 goal, we were able to score 2 and therefore equal Preston North End's 33 points! Goal difference should see us remain in division 2 (by a 3 goal difference)! :D

Very happy with my first season in this setup and I look forward to the next one.

  6. Re: Does player age get taken in to consideration during your teams matches and seaso

I'm 99% sure age is not a factor to the match engine.

The inability to win you've been experiencing, however, is something relatively common in teams that pull ahead early on.

I managed an Arsenal that won its first 20 fixtures creating a gap of almost 20 points with the second placed team. Immediately after that, we started drawing and losing without exception. We had a run of 13 games without victory, allowing other teams to catch-up.

It seems as though its a relatively common scenario in SM to be honest.

  7. Re: Player Concerns (please read the Online Help if looking for help)

My first team average is 89

Varane has a rating of 85

he has concerns about his lack of games

    I find that illogical

I obviously want to keep him

Should I be forced to pick him and weaken my team?

What's the average of your CB's and DM's?

I find that if a player is 3 to 4 points below that average, they'll expect to play. The good news is, they're usually happy with cup/shield games and the odd sub-appearance.

  8. Re: The Real Problem With SM.. Match Engine!.. The Truth!!!..

the only positive i could see to this would be proof that when a red card was given there would be a fluctuation in starting 11 ratings the next time the new formation instruction was shown??? ;) .. therefore you would kno the red card had registered and fluctuation of line up was in play as the red card had kick in to the engine :) ..

    That's the idea.

Red cards, injuries, substitutions, formation as well as instruction changes should have an effect on your stats.

  9. Re: World Championship 11111 Discussion thread

    Fiorentina 2 - 1 AJ Auxerre

Daniel E. (101) steered Fiorentina to victory against AJ Auxerre.

Fiorentina outclassed AJ Auxerre and beat them 2 - 1 in their Division 4 fixture.

D'agostino scored both of the goals for Fiorentina and was later voted Man of the Match for his performance

This victory sees us move to 2nd place, three points away from division 4 leaders FC Basel.

  10. Re: The Real Problem With SM.. Match Engine!.. The Truth!!!..

i dont think you understood me mate :) ..

how can any formation be it the 3 you used which you won all on the statistics front not have worked even if you lost 2-0.. therefore the extra statistics are pointless simply because all formation changes did exactly what they were ment to yet you still lost.. as many matches like this happen on sm.. therefore imo meaning the feature would just be pointless as it doesnt offer you anything extra imo..

whats to say u wont make a formation change.. drop worse than opposing team in shots and possession yet score 2 in that period of change before you revert to a new 1.. does that mean that formation change didnt work?..

to be quite frank mate its a rubbish feature to add imo as it doesnt do anything more than the 1 set of overall statistics can offer.. only encourage more opportunity to slate the statistical side of the game.

    Again.

It would demonstrate to you what effects (if any) your tactical changes had on the game' date=' whether positive or negative. It would be useful to see what is and isn't working.[/quote']

As Barnabyd states, it would show us if there is an effect.

You basically state the match engine is random and doesn't take almost anything into account. This would prove you wrong. Even if you end up loosing matches where you enjoyed 60% of the possession and had more shots on target (Did you see the Copa America? Paraguay might ring a bell). This isn't meant to improve anything. Simply give managers a little more information and at the same time prove SM's match engine works; which seems to be you biggest complain.

  11. Re: The Real Problem With SM.. Match Engine!.. The Truth!!!..

you state you have lost games where you hav had red cards.. awsome mate im sure you have but i bet you have won just as many.. i win loads of games with injuries.. red cards etc where i shouldnt i also loose them.. but the ammount ive won i rekon would fair equal.. how does this proove the engine doesnt just fire them out randomly again.. wen it cant even handle a simple divide/subtraction.. why do you think the engine can understand so many commands when it cant even manage mathematics? .. lets b honest mate.. a guy at home makeing these results up from the top of there heads could come up with a better outcome imo than the sm engine at present.

Actually I said I predominantly lost games in which 1 or more of my players were sent off. I did manage to win some like you say' date=' but most have been losses.

my honest opinion on that mate is it is a feature from the dark ages right?..

how many times have u had stats on sm where you have had 60% of posesion and lost.. i have plenty 101.. ive had 20 plus shots with 90 plus rated forwards and not scored whilst the other side has had 2 and scored them both with donkeys..

very simple answer really mate.. cant believe youve asked me this :) ..

over the space of the whole game each formation i use i could dominate the game.. thats over the space of the 3 time durations the formations are used for..

i could finish the game still on a better percentage possesion average than them.. in each of the 3 different tactical periods and i could be the higher shots on and off average and still walk of that field loosing 2-0..

like i said mate how many times have you crystal clearly won the stats by a mile and yet still lost.. it doesnt mean 2 say you wont fair the better of them in each of the 3 tactical periods yet still loose..

I agree with most of what you have said but I don't think you've understood what I was trying to say. Yes, you can have higher possession, more shots on target and still draw/lose.

What I was actually trying to convey wasn't a new feature showing new stats. On the contrary, using the same algorithm they use to show us our overall stats, we could see stats for each individual intervals (45 minutes, 60 ", 75 " & final). This way, you (or any other manager) could see if any changes made during one of these periods was productive or not.

Like I said before, this enhancement shouldn't be rocket science and would help prove SM have a functioning match engine that doesn't solely rely on average ratings.

Wouldn't you believe in the match engine if you could see your in-game alterations have an effect on the stats?

question 4 you mate.. all it would mean imo is instead of dominateing in the standard 1 set of statistics at present there would then be 3 where you could dominate yet still manage to loose..

would that mean the formations you used were poor.. they all dominated mate yet didnt score.. the information then would stand for nothing..

gameplay on that would be zero for me.. not even n e where close to the ideas ive brought to enhance gameplay.. infact all your idea would create imo is more arguing on the forum over disapointing stats because all you would get from folk would simply be i now dominate all 3 areas of game play yet still loose.. back to the same posistion as now mate is that.. back to square 1! :) ..

Although the idea I put upfront wont prevent freak results, it should at least let managers know their tactics and instructions do weigh in their results. After all, if your theory about the match engine being completely random was true, there wouldn't be much fun in playing SM, right? All you would need to do, is amass high rated players to win games.

  12. Re: The Real Problem With SM.. Match Engine!.. The Truth!!!..

any more questions lads for me to answer with the engine/ideas?.. :) ..
How is it you are so certain expulsions bear no consequences in the match engine? I know I've predominantly lost games in which one or more of my players were sent off.

The same could be asked about the in-game instructions. Do you know' date=' without doubt, that substituting a 90-rated player for a 70-rated one has no effect in the result, hence the match engine? Sure, our team average stays unchanged in the in-game instructions display, but that doesn't necessarily mean the match engine ignores the change. Try substituting your 3 best-rated players for your 3 worst-rated ones, ignoring their positions, at halftime; you'd probably fair worse in the second half.

A clear way to determine if these points are an actual issue, would be seeing a statistic variation whenever you make substitutions, change formations or change in-game-instructions. On your match report, under the 'Match Statistics' tab, you can see the different formations and substitutions you used for the kick-off, 45th minute, 60th minute and 75th minute. SM could add a more detailed report by showing stats for each of these intervals, e.g., you started a game using a defensive-minded 4-4-2 against a flat 4-3-3 and by the time the 45th minute arrives you've amassed 40% of possession and have scored no goals. You had set your instructions to change in case you were loosing/drawing at half-time to an attacking 3-4-3 and by the 75th minute you can see your overall possession has gone up to 60% and you're up 2 - 0.

What would this tell you? Basically that with a 4-4-2, you had the ball for 18 minutes (out of a possible 45), but after changing to a 3-4-3 (amongst other things), you're overall possession has gone up to 45 minutes out of 75 (60%). In other words, since making your formation and instructions change at halftime, your team has had 90% of the possession (27 minutes out of a possible 30) - You've now seen how the changes you've made benefited your team and therefore the match engine respond to changes. I know it's not the best example but I think the idea comes across well enough and this should put any doubt you have to rest. Am I right? It should also be quite simple for SM developers to add this feature.[/quote']

    How about answering this?

Oh and, how was your trip to CAB? Contacting Anonymous Group might give you a better chance of shutting down SM.

  13. Re: Help With Deal(s) Thread...

Charlie ADAM and Andy CARROLL for Santi CAZORLA .

Who is getting the better end of the deal.

    The manager getting Cazorla.

I was offered 32 million for Pastore. Very tempting amount...

Who could you buy with that money?

Hey guys what dyou think about

    pepe for hummels.

    I have pepe.

    Thanks in advance :)

I wouldn't do the deal if it's Real Madrid's Pepe. As good as Hummels is and can be, he has a long road ahead of him before catching Pepe rating-wise.

  14. Re: The Real Problem With SM.. Match Engine!.. The Truth!!!..

    Patience of a saint Stu

I agree. That little sister of yours has done you good :D.

but the harsh reality is mate..

i take this any further at present how it stands..

and there wont be a soccermanager.. i dont want that myself what i want is addressing by the people who matter..

you do understand that dont you?.. regardles of the position they are currently in with this.. the sm engine doesnt do what it is supose to and that is fully functional red cards.. injuries.. substitutes..

ive messaged sm.. both john and ste.. im arranged to see cab on monday where i will be takeing this forward..

ive offerd sm the opportunity to speak with me by fone and explain away from this forum but the people that count are avoiding me..

    thank you..

i am now no longer going to speak on this matter and chose to persue it down the paths adviced..

time for bed.. goodnight :) ..

You really think your complaint will shutdown SM? I assume you are neither a lawyer nor have any knowledge about statutory interpretation.

This thread started with such aggressiveness' date=' I'm not surprised you haven't gotten (and probably will not get) an official response from SM.

As many people before have explained, the issues you bring to sight should be tweaked without much testing required (bar substitutions thanks to injuries) [b']if[/b] they aren't already in place.

How is it you are so certain expulsions bear no consequences in the match engine? I know I've predominantly lost games in which one or more of my players were sent off.

Perhaps starting this thread with a 'hot head' wasn't the proper way to voice your complaints, as slandering and admonishing will probably not get you the answers you want.

I'm sure 'asking nicely' (as Stuart put it) would've gotten you further. And if receiving answers is really what you're after, I'll have no problem in trying to contact John/Ste myself with your queries.

  15. Re: Transfer Ban Change

Perhaps youth player hoarding is a problem. But i reckon it's mostly seen on uncompetitive game worlds where a couple of teams face little to no competition when it comes to signing these players.

The solution you propose is hardly the best to solve this in my opinion. Mainly because it would enforce hoarding and also due to the fact that transfers, being the most active feature in SM, would stagnate for long periods.

Lets say I'm one of these hoarding managers in a setup where the rules you suggested are in place. What exactly will prevent me from buying youth players? Nothing. I'd still do it. In the case of risers, I'd just let them develop their wages concern until they demand a transfer. This means I'd still get a nifty profit on their rise without having to adjust to their new wages.

On the other hand, I could also see a problem with 90+ players. What's to stop me from handing out 5 year contracts to every player at the end of every season? I could quit the team and all players would remain nontransferable for over 3 SM-seasons.

Look at it this way. In real life, players are sold less than one year before they were bought (Diego from Juventus). They sign a 5-year contract and are sold 2 months later (Falcao from Porto). TB's are fine as they are and I'm sure SM have no intentions of altering them.

There are many other things that are more important than this at the moment. Match engine, loans, injury lengths, substitutions, etc..

    Hamburger SV 1 - 4 Fiorentina

Daniel E. steered Fiorentina to victory against Hamburger SV.

*Fiorentina outclassed Hamburger SV and beat them 4 - 1 in their Division 4 *fixture.

*Gilardino had an impressive game and was voted Man of the Match.

*Vargas, D'agostino and Montolivo were amongst the goalscorers.

We dominated the stats, amassing 65% of the possession, 16 shots (8 on target) and an average collective rating of 7.75 against their 6.27.

We move up to 3rd place, 2 points away from the leader Basel.

*SK Rapid Wien beat Internacional 2 - 1 in their Division 4 fixture.

*Glushakov scored both of the goals for SK Rapid Wien and was later voted Man of the Match for his performance.

This win sees us move to 6th place. Next up is Feyenoord for the World Champ Shield.

  18. Re: Help With Deal(s) Thread...

Subotic' date=' Thiago Silva, Sakho or David Luiz?

    Thanks guys:)[/quote']

I'd rank them in this order: Thiago Silva > Subotic > Sakho > David Luiz.

What do you guys think about Fernando Torres? Should i keep or sell?

My other forwards are Villa' date=' Hernandez, Neymar, Messi, Casnos,

Also Clichy from Manchester City, keep him or sell him?

If i sell him i can bring in Jose Angel, as Cissokho, Coentrao, Marcelo are in different clubs[/quote']

I don't think you need Torres tbh. You could negotiate a pretty good deal (P/E) for him at the moment.

As for Clichy, if Jose Angel is your only alternative, I'd keep him. Perhaps one of Schmelzer, Pereira or Baines are available?

  19. Re: New User Interface [beta]

I must say I'm happy with the new interface. I wasn't at first, but realized the beta was eventually going to replace the old interface so I chose to stick with it from the beginning to get familiarized with it (seems like most here didn't).

Overall, I can understand most of you who claim things take longer than before. That is until you get used to the new layout, or at least that's how it happened with me. After about 1 week of using the new interface, I started getting things done as fast and even faster than with the old interface and with the exception of the messages (which have now been changed) I became accustomed to the new looks and features.

The only problem I have so far is with the 'Real Life Clubs'.

Real Life clubs is still available. Game World -> Club List -> Search by country.

I have tried this and it's definitely not what I'm looking for. This instructions lead me to a list of all the teams (external' date=' unmanaged & managed) in my setup. For example, in a WC I want to see Juventus' real life squad. I do as said and go to [b']Game World > Club List > Search by country > Italy > Juventus[/b] and what I find is a managed Juventus team with the squad the manager has built over time, not Juventus' real life squad.

The same goes for external teams - Malaga, which is external in my game world, doesn't show 50% of its current real life players.

Perhaps I'm missing something, but it seems as though real life squads have been cut from the new interface. The only way I've been able to gain access to these, is by searching for a player that currently plays for that team (i.e. Del Piero in Juventus), opening his profile and clicking on 'Real Club' there.

  20. Re: EC Anno Domini - General Discussion, Banter etc

    Burnley 1 - 3 Newcastle

Lost a key match against a superior Newcastle. They dominated the stats and controlled the match from begging to end. We only had 1 shot on target (which ended in a goal) against their 10.

Oh well, next up are Leicester & Middlesbrough - Will need 2 victories and some help from other teams to save the season.
