  1. This is going to take some getting used to...
  2. Re: English Championship 1 I do not know him from other setups but he sent me a PM that included the following: I agree he's not the kind of manager we want.
  3. Re: English Championship 1 After a disastrous first half of the season that saw us slip down to 17th place, I'm pretty satisfied with our second half of the season so far. We've now climbed up to 9th place and have gotten 16 out of the last 18 points. News aren't all good though and we'll be missing Ronaldo for the next 3 games.
  4. Re: English Championship 1 What a huge loss for EC1. Best of luck, Caleb.
  5. Re: English Championship 1 Reading are Champions again Reading's 3-1 home win against Fulham was good enough to secure the Royals the title as Manchester United slumped to a defeat against Arsenal. This is the second top flight title for Reading. Cristiano Ronaldo managed to outshine Lionel Messi with 2 goals and an assist. The argentine could only manage a late consolation goal. Ronaldo is currently leading the goalscoring charts with 27 goals and if he scores again this season, he will set a new EC1 record. The portuguese star showed his delight to the press after the match: "This is really a special day for me as it's my first top flight title at Reading. When I signed we were the title holders but a lot has happened ever since. We got relegated but we've come back stronger than before and I couldn't be happier."
  6. Re: English Championship 1 I hate to be a sore loser but feel hard done by the game. Pato was meant to replace Llorente on the 60th minute. I played the same formation the whole game and never changed Llorente's position but somehow the game game ended up moving Llorente to midfield and Pato replaced Son who had been subbed in 15 minutes earlier. Has anyone encountered a similar problem? I guess from now on I'll just have 1 in-game instruction to avoid these kind of things.
  7. Re: English Championship 1 Cristiano Ronaldo in tears after finding out that the Ballon d'Or is not enough to earn a 99
  8. Re: English Championship 1 Reading Legend Antonio Di Natale Leaves Di Natale scored 138 goals in 326 appearances for Reading. Reading fans were left in shock today as the club announced Di Natale had been sold to Bradford City. The italian striker was signed almost 10 seasons ago and quickly established himself as a fan favorite. He arrived at the club just before Reading's first season at the top flight and formed a prolific strike partnership with Alexandre Pato. The highlight of his career was Season 16, where he led the team to its only Division 1 title with 26 goals and 15 assists. For the past 5 seasons he has been partnering Cristiano Ronaldo in the attack, even relegating Pato to the bench while the talented brazilian was still at the club. With 138 goals in 326 appearances, Di Natale holds the records for most goals and most appearances at Reading. Di Natale and teje had a meeting earlier this week and both agreed it was best to go separate ways. It didn't take long for the club to to receive a good offer so, to the dismay of many Reading fans, Di Natale was sold to Bradford City. Reading's manager had only words of praise for Di Natale, as he thanked him for leaving an indelible mark in the club's history and wished him all the best at his new club. Reading's all-time top scorers Antonio Di Natale......138 goals Alexandre Pato............129 goals Cristiano Ronaldo........108 goals Reading players with the most appearances Antonio Di Natale......326 games Alexandre Pato............310 games John Obi Mikel.............303 games Sergio Busquets...........300 games
  9. Re: English Championship 1 It wasn't a good final day for Reading as the loss against Shels made us go down 3 places and miss out on european football. Much improvement is needed for next season. At least Ronaldo got another Player of the Season award... Congratulation to Shels (even though having someone celebrate at your own turf is never too nice ) and James on their titles. Kuldeep had a fantastic overall season. It's not easy to be that consistent in all competitions so congratulations to him as well.
  10. Re: English Championship 1 Well I can't blame him. He obviously thinks it's too soon for a return to Madejski Stadium. Good news is Ronaldo has served his suspension and should be available for Wednesday's match.
  11. Re: English Championship 1 Sorry to hear that. I steer clear of 3 for 1 deals ever since my deals will Hull were reversed as some people are just idiots. Hopefully SM will allow us to offer more than 1 player in a single bid soon enough. I think they're toned down when it comes to a bid being acceptable for both chairmen but when it comes to comparing bids it works the way it used to. At least that's what I've noticed. I have a question too: Has anyone noticed lower condition levels for today's match? I played my reserves for my Monday game yet most of my players are below 90% and the only one above 92% is my GK.
  12. Re: English Championship 1 I'm sure you've thought this through pretty well so all I can say is good luck...
  13. Re: English Championship 1 Reading Unveil Ronaldo Statue before the New Season After Cristiano Ronaldo won the Player of the Season award for the 2nd time in only 3 seasons playing for Reading at the top flight, the club has decided to pay tribute to him by placing a statue of the Portuguese star outside the Madejski Stadium. The statue was revealed today, only hours before the new season kicks off. In their first game, Reading will be playing Hull City in a difficult away match. Antonio Di Natale is expected to be in the starting lineup despite having been linked to a move away from the club earlier this week. The Italian faces his tenth season at Reading and sources at the club claim he is likely to stay for the remainder of his playing career.
  14. Re: English Championship 1 Reading Place Pepe on the Transfer List Portugal defender Pepe has been put on the transfer list by Reading. The club has stated that offers for the 93 rated player will only be considered if they include a good replacement.
  15. Re: English Championship 1 Well I'd be interested in a few of your players. Let me know if there's someone in my squad that interests you. I forgot to do my tactics for some time and left Ronaldo and my other best players out for about 5 games. After that I found some good form and got into the top 4 but yesterday's loss against Darlington means I'm 5th again .
  16. Re: English Championship 1 Well I lost 2-0 despite playing with an extra man for an hour so don't you feel alone . I play teb's 2nd placed Fulham on Saturday. It's a very important game for us, but not one I'm looking forward to having lost both games against him last season.
  17. Re: English Championship 1 Reading beat Manchester City 3-1 with Cristiano Ronaldo netting a hat trick. This means we finish the season 5th. I would have liked a top 4 finish, but given our teerrible form at the start of the season I'll take this. Ronaldo ended the season on a high. After a mediocre first half of the season, he ended as the league's 2nd highest goalscorer with 19 goals and as the player with the 3rd highest average rating. Hopefully his good form will continue and we can build on this 5th place finish next season.
  18. Re: English Championship 1 Congrats on your 2nd league title, Herby! Well deserved. Meanwhile, Reading could only get an away draw against Spurs after leading 2-0. We still have a realistic chance at a top 4 finish, but anything other than a win against Adam's Arsenal on Wednesday and we'll end up playing our reserves for the final 2 games.
  19. Re: English Championship 1 Reading legend Pato signs for West Ham United Özil joins Reading for the third time Alexandre Pato will no longer be wearing the Reading shirt Alexandre Pato was teje's first big name signing at Reading nearly 4 years ago. With the club having focused on signing lower rated promising players previously, his transfer from Leeds United for a hefty fee was as unexpected as it was exciting to all the Reading fans. In his first season he netted 21 goals and became an instant hit. The fans began to think he could lead the club to glory. They were not wrong as in his 7th season at the club, Reading won the FA cup. This was Reading's first big title, but there was more to come as he scored 21 times in 25 games next season. This helped Reading win its only Division 1 title to date. Sadly, his recurrent injuries didn't allow him to progress as was expected from him. Offers for him kept coming regularly, but they were all rejected as Reading decided to gamble on his talent. This season he started developing a concern due to his role as a substitute. When the chance to sign Özil came, it was clear it was best for Pato and Reading to part ways. After nearly 10 seasons at the club, he has played 310 games for Reading. This makes him the player with the most appearances during teje's time at Reading. In these 310 games he managed to score 129 goals and get 124 assists. He is Reading's biggest legend to date and even if he never returns, his legacy will always be cherished by the fans. Özil is once again a Reading man The transfer of Pato to West Ham United also sees german playmaker Mesut Özil join Reading for a sensational third time. The attacking midfielder is determined to stay this time and wants to prove on the pitch that he needs to be a part of Reading's long term plans. West Ham also received 15M and Luis Muriel as part of the deal.
  20. Re: English Championship 1 I'm currently looking for a D(L). Ideally someone who is 90+ but I'll take an 88+ if I like the player. I'm willing to offer a 2 for 1 or accept a 2 for 1 for one of my players.
  21. Re: English Championship 1 It certainly is. I was looking at Walcott's strengths and thought I had accidentally clicked on Ronaldo's profile.
  22. Re: English Championship 1 So it took them over 24 hours to do that? Is it automated? I hope so, because I don't want to think that people working at SM aren't smart enough to check PMs between the managers in question. I got J. Boateng as part of the Pepe deal and I was getting Cazorla when his transfer ban expired. That's all they needed to check to realize the deals were fair. Is there a way to contact SM about this? It looks like you can only interact with them by clicking buttons these days.
  23. Re: English Championship 1 Peterborough United 0 - 1 Reading Reading make their return to the top flight with an important win at Peterborough. After a goalless first half, Javier Hernandez's bad tackle on Nocerino 54 minutes into the game meant he was show a red card. The away team was able to profit from having an extra man when in the 74th minute Michel Bastos received a pass from Ronaldo and beat Diego Lopez. Peterborough switched to a 3-3-3 for the last 15 minutes of the game, but were not able to get the draw. Dzagoev joins Reading Alan Dzagoev: Reading's newest signing Reading's long search for an attacking midfielder ended today when a deal to bring Alan Dzagoev to the club was agreed. In return, Antoine Griezmann and Joel Campbell will be joining Carlisle. The frenchman had to compete with Ronaldo, Bastos and Walcott for a spot in the team so he decided to move in order to get more playing time. Campbell was highly regarded at the club, but with the likes of Dybala, Gabbiadini and Muriel in the youth team the club accepted including him in the deal. Dzagoev will be signing a contract later today and could make his debut on Wednesday. Obi Mikel is injured and if a 5 man midfield is chosen for the game against Manchester United, the young russian playmaker will be handed his first start.
  24. Re: English Championship 1 I'm very sorry to hear this. I guess if your heart's not in it anymore then it's a good choice, but it's a big blow to EC1 nevertheless. Congrats on everything you achieved at Chesterfield and hopefully you'll be back soon enough.
