  1. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread Apologies for not voting on the end of season awards, completely went unnoticed, although I was pleasantly surprised to see that I had a vote for the Division 3 manager of the season. Our chairman has expanded our stadium by 5,860 seats to 13,647... still the 2nd smallest stadium in Division 2. We open the season at home against Walsall.
  2. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread Hartlepool United 1-0 QPR Delighted to have achieved back to back promotions, commiserations to QPR, I honestly didn't expect promotion this season. I need to make improvements if I'm to stand any chance in Division 2 and with that being said, the whole of my squad is available, part exchange and cash bids are welcome.
  3. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread Southend 1-3 Hartlepool United After 3 strenuous seasons in Division 4, we finally get promotion back to Division 3! We didn't have the best of form going into the play-offs, and we nearly had as large of a downfall we had at the end of last season. Thankfully, we were able to win the 2 games when it counted
  4. Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread Hull City 1-0 Stockport County A very pleasant victory against my former club. Goran Pandev with the goal that sees us through to the quarter finals of the Shield which has set us a juicy tie against Plymouth Although this is nice, survival remains the main aim of the season
  5. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread Hartlepool's terrible run of form continued on Saturday, 4 losses in a row after a 3-1 defeat to Doncaster. We now see ourselves outside the top 6 for the first time for virtually the whole season. Slightly positive news : He will directly replace Robinho who has carried us for most of the season after he has moved to Yeovil for £12 Million. As for Dempsey, signed for £9 Million, hopefully he can be the difference between securing a play off spot, and missing out on one for the 2nd consecutive season.
  6. Re: New Improvements It all seems a bit too cluttered for my liking
  7. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread Lost 2-1 to a strong Southend. A win and a loss to start the season, not great but there is still a long way to go. Next up are Cardiff.
  8. Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread Nottingham Forest 0-1 Hull City Rod Fanni got the goal for us tonight to ensure that we get back to back wins for the first time in 7 weeks. We've now opened up an 8 point gap from the bottom 3 which I'm delighted with at the moment, considering there is only 8 games left. 5 points off of 9th, so there is still an outside chance of getting European football next season.
  9. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread AFC Bournemouth 0-3 Hartlepool United A extremely good start to the season, it seems the new signings got off to a good start, particularly Robinho who had a goal and an assist to his name. Next up are Southend who got off to an equally good start
  10. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread - Our Chairman as ambitious as ever.I must say I am surprised that Darren Bent got 3 votes for player of the year for Div 4. To those 3 voters, I say thank you
  11. Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread Charlton 1-1 Hull City Still in a bid run of form so it was nice not to lose the game. Eduardo with his 13th goal of the season. We stay 16th, and dangerously close to the bottom 3.
  12. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread In the top 6 all season in Division 4 spending most of the season in the top 3, then would luck have we drop to 7th after the final game of the season. Time to get rid of the debt and wholesale changes at Hartlepool for next season we will return to Division 3 one day!
  13. Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread Leeds United 1-1 Hull City I'll certainly take the point considering the stats suggest we were the weaker team. Eduardo getting his 8th goal already this season and it appears that his goals will be key in our aim to survive.
  14. Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread Hull City 3-0 Preston North End Giving my line-up in tonight's game, I am surprised to of won by the scoreline that I did. Nevertheless, the reserves and deadwood get me through to the next round. Rushden & Diamonds await me in the 3rd round.
  15. Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread Manchester United 3-0 Hull City An expected defeat to the current champions. Even with defeat tonight I am satisfied with the start and I do hope it continues. Next up are Charlton Athletic in what will be a closely contested game I'm sure.
  16. Re: Spanish Championship 26700 Discussion Thread Club Deportivo Lugo manager here
  17. Re: New Forum-Filled Spanish Championship I would be interested in joining
  18. Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread Tottenham Hotspur 0-2 Hull City An absolutely fantastic result for us. An Eduardo brace via 2 free kicks ensured a shock victory for us. That makes it 4 points for us in the opening 2 games for us, against 2 teams that could potentially be champions of the teams by the end of the season. We now have travel to Middlesbrough on Saturday, hopefully we can continue this good start and keep another clean sheet.
  19. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread Hartlepool United 3-0 Sheffield Wednesday Another fantastic victory for us, we remain 2nd in Division 4 and with over a third of the season gone, I am extremely hopeful we can continue to remain at this part of table for the rest of the season.
  20. Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread Hull City 0-0 Liverpool Prior to the game I would of been happy with a point, but with Cristaldo missing a penalty I am disappointed not to of got the full 3 points. Another tricky game on Wednesday against Spurs awaits us
  21. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread Wycombe 0-5 Hartlepool A very tasty victory tonight, which lifts us up to 3rd. Hopefully we can continue this good start to the season.
  22. Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread I will also add that Eduardo scored in normal time, and both penalties were scored by former Saints players
  23. Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread Tonight is the night of by far and away the most important game in the history of Hull City. In Sheffield Wednesday will be an extremely challenging and difficult opposition, and our task of winning hasn't been made any easier with an injury to key player Goran Pandev which was sustained in the Semi-Final. To not win tonight wouldn't be catastrophic, but with the majority of my squad being on the wrong side of 30, and with the strength of some Division 2 teams that have under achieved this season, it's only going to be much harder to achieve this finish next season. Good luck Dom, and let the best team win
