    hey guys.
i didnt watch the liverpool vs lille match. and im just looking for an unbiased summary of the game. honestly, was very disappointed with the result. hopefully the home leg will be much better.
i do recall, before the match, benitez wanted the team to 'show their desire' or something alike to that. i certainly hope losing 1-0 to mediocre french sides such as lille is liverpool's 'desire'. certainly isnt what the fans want.
let me know, i unbiased please. dont go blabbering that liverpool were dominant, its the ref and whatnot. if liverpool were truly amazing that night, even without 2/3 penalties, they would have AT LEAST scored one.
    so no bias.

A small ship is about to sink and a helicopter arrives just in time to save the crew of all men save one woman. The survivors are holding onto a ladder but it is one person too heavy.
After much deliberation they all decide that the woman must let go, she agrees to let go but tells them a story of her life, how she is an only mother of 3 and how she had to take up this job to pay for her kids, etc. The men are so moved by this that they all begin to clap in applause.

    there is a simple explanation.
In the economic downturn, costs to maintain a website rises. And we all know, a bigger website is more costly than a smaller website.
    SM is a bigger website.
1 letter as we all know, takes up the space of 1 byte.
    Deportivo = 9 letters = at least 9 bytes.
Deportivo La Coruña = 17 letters = at least 17 bytes.
    Which is the cheaper solution?

Just a simple, quick game with minimum rules just for FUN
Here's the catch:You say a player's name, and the next person has to pick a player who could/is/has played well alongside him...it goes on, but AVOID REPEATS.
    E.g. I say : Torres
    Then you say : Gerrard
Then the other guy says : Xabi Alonso
    and it goes on...
    I'll start it off:

    Lionel Messi

    Brazilians 1st edition

Rafael (Manchester United) - One of United's magic Samba kids. Has impressed United fans with his given starts this season. A possible replacement for Gary Neville in the years to come.
Fabio (Manchester United) - The other magic Samba kid of Old Trafford. He is yet to make an impression on the pitch, but word is around that he has ability greater than Rafael following his captaincy of the United Reserves.
Boquita (Corinthians) - Creative and talented; following the footsteps of many Corinthian youngsters. Shows good vision along with quick feet and is comfortable on the ball and has a knack of appearing in the right place at the right time. But is a poor playing when it comes to using his head (physical sense).
Ciro (Sport Club Recife) - One of the best young forwards in Brazilian football at the moment. Top goal-scorer in the Pernambuco state youth championships with 34 goals in 29 games. Superb acceleration, skillful on the ball and very decisive in front of goal. A natural goalscorer.
He is very slim and at the highest level may be knocked off the ball easily. Needs more experience at the highest level.
Luis Guilherme (Botafogo) - Botafogo’s young goalkeeper is being tipped by many as a potential No. 1 for Brazil. With caps at under-15, 16 and 17 level, this promising goalkeeper has a bright future ahead of him and is being tipped to follow his idols, Brazilian legends Taffarel and Rogerio Ceni as national goalkeeper in the future.Agile, confident and a very good shot-stopper. Shows remarkable maturity for his age.
Taison (SC Internacional) - Taison is an exciting and gifted right-footed dribbler who likes to push forward and attack. He loves to dribble. Taison is very fast, he has excellent close control and he is a good finisher. Unfortunately, his decision-making and his heading lets him down.
Douglas Costa (Gremio) - He has been hailed as "the new Ronaldinho" in Brazil – for his football skills, rather than hair or teeth. He was attracting lustful glances from major European clubs in January, including Manchester United, Juventus and Real Madrid, having starred in the junior Copa Santiago tournament. Has a powerful left foot shot, a good range of passing, decent vision and is a set-piece specialist. Costa is also physically strong and quick. His right foot not as good as his left and he has shown a few signs of inconsistency. He is still inexperienced and he doesn’t always stamp his authority on matches.
Paulo Henrique (Santos) - Paulo Henrique has come through the ranks at Santos and has just broken into the first team. Is a lively, creative and skilful midfielder . Right footed, but more than decent on his left, good finisher with both feet. Quick, can dribble and is a quality finisher. Decision-making isn’t his forte and he probably needs to work on his vision, and we don’t mean by popping down the optician.
Phillippe Coutinho (Vasco da Gama -loan from Inter) - Signed by Inter in July 2008 from Vasco da Gama, Coutinho can’t play in Serie A until he’s 18 and so will stay with Vasco for another couple of seasons. Acreative skilful attacking midfielder with two great feet, Coutinho is regarded as one of the hottest prospects to come out of Brazil and has rather unimaginatively been dubbed as ‘the new Kaka’. He is very quick, has a good range of passing and the skill to beat players.
Willians (SE Palmieras -loan from EC Vitoria) - Willians is a powerful and direct central midfielder player, with the great passing ability, a player with a very similar style to Steven Gerrard. Willians is a powerful and direct central midfielder player, with the great passing ability, a player with a very similar style to Steven Gerrard. Only scored three goals in 33 appearances for Vitoria last season – he’ll need to up that strike rate.
Jean (Sao Paulo) - A solid midfielder, Jean is good going forward and creates many chances. He has good awareness, and is strong on the ball. Unfortunately, he struggles to score enough goals and will need to improve his tackling.

Does it take soooo long for scientists to realise this... vegetarians are like sizzling!!!
Diets high in red meat and in processed meat shorten life span not just from cancer and heart disease but from Alzheimer's, stomach ulcers and an array of other conditions as well, a U.S. National Cancer Institute study has found.
In fact, reducing meat consumption to the amount eaten by the bottom 20 percent seen in the study would save 11 percent of men's lives and 16 percent of women's, according to the study.
"The consumption of red meat was associated with a modest increase in total mortality," said Rashmi Sinha, lead author of the study in the March 23 issue of Archives of Internal Medicine.
"This fits together with the findings of the American Institute for Cancer Research and the World Cancer Research Fund and the American Cancer Society, which recommend limiting the consumption of red meat," added Sinha, who is a senior investigator with the nutrition epidemiological branch in the cancer epidemiology and genetics division at the Cancer Institute. "This is something new in the sense of mortality."

I have disabled Worldwide Messages, but I came up with an idea that could really help others having the same situation.
    Private Message Filtering.
You could be managing in GC 30 to GC 40, therefore you could be getting about 10 PMs every week per GC. Its much easier if you could choose from a drop-down list : "View Messages from GC 30" or "GC 31", "GC 32" and so on. By breaking down the list, it would be much easier. So that when I am checking my team in GC 35, I can click on Private Messages to see if there is anything urgent that needs to be attended to ONLY for that club. It's better because then I don't have to go to page 12, I can just filter it and it would all be on 1 page or perhaps 2.
What are your thoughts on this?

    English Premier League
    2008-09

Well, slightly more than half of the season has been played for the EPL clubs (except for Manchester United), but has the season been what you were looking forward to? Or has it been disappointing? Perhaps, a surprise?

The beginning of the season saw the introduction of West Bromwich, Stoke and Hull City, respectively promoted via the Championship / Championship Play-offs. Funny thing, because it's opposite when we look at the Premiership table . But, as the newcomers came in, 3 teams left the Premier League, looking to battle for a return next season. Record breaking Derby was relegated, as Aston Villa bid goodbye to derby rivals Birmingham.
As the season kicked off, us fans were treated to some very exciting opening matches. West Brom kicked off better than expected, holding Arsenal to accept a 1-0 win. Bolton shot off well, with a 3-1 win over Stoke. But, Chelsea and Aston Villa treated their fans with more than just a main course. 4 goals for Chelsea, destroying a Pompy side. Whilst Villa beat Manchester city 4-2, as Agbonlahor scored a hat-trick, in the space of 7 minutes.

Re: Hariss Harun - Boy from Singapore!
Well, he is - from a Singaporean point of view - a good talent, in comparison to the average Singaporean S-League player. I've seen Singaporean teams play numerous times, and it's not Champions League or even Japan J-League level. Perhaps somewhat closer to the lower side of the American MLS football level.
But, in Singapore he is a talent. I wouldn't ever expect to see a Singaporean play in the Champions League, at least until I am long gone...(unless it's me )
But, in Singapore, I would want to see him play. A 74 rating sounds fine for me, nothing higher at least for a while...
Albirex Nigata is a J-League team, rather good...similar to Urawa Reds etc. They joined the S-League, a worse team of course...reserves for the Japan side? I'm not sure....perhaps a scouting camp.

    Re: Where's Kaka's best position
you should play a 4-3-2-1 formation, it works best. kaka plays very well as the attacking midfielder; set him as your play-maker, and alongside him-perhaps seedorf. ronaldinho is good enough as the only forward, but he is supported by kaka and seedorf, average rating about 96, which is impressive. you could make a trade and bring in van der vaart, who is better in real life than seedorf...
in midfield, play pirlo and gattuso and flamini.
but, you really have to make transfers when it comes to Milan, because the players are not too young and there is hardly a good wide player in the team. if you wish, try making deals for david silva/ ribery / quaresma etc. they are useful players.
