  1. Re: Official Liverpool Thread I would like him to finish one more season. But i can defiantly see him staying on as a coach.
  2. Re: Stadium Building Its just random, maybe the game thinks it is big enough for the team you have.
  3. Re: [Poll] Should SM be Ad free for Gold users? The way i see it the features we get are great value for what we pay. And free members get an incredible amount for free. The Ad's don't take anything away from the experience, with or without ad blockers, i really have no problem with them.
  4. Re: Official Liverpool Thread I for one would really welcome Dempsey. It reminds me of when benayoun joined us. Not a big name, but was fantastic for us considering that. I have always been a fan of Dempsey, we need someone that can score goals in the prem.
  5. Re: Player Concerns (please read the Online Help if looking for help) Agreed you would have to be very careful with 'player promises'. One way it could work is instead of automatically request a transfer if the promise wasn't met, they could just lose moral. This leading to them either playing poorly, or and increased chance of them rejecting a contract extension. I do however really think adding some kind of contract system into the game would improve it dramatically. Making it more realistic, challenging for lower teams, and hopefully cut down on the amount of player exchange deals, either by making players have higher wages, or by players rejecting the chance to transfer to that team.
  6. Re: Player Concerns (please read the Online Help if looking for help) Like a percentage of games available, for example, a player may want to play at least 70% of games they are available for.
  7. Re: Official Liverpool Thread Thats a better way of putting it, doesn't sound like u have no idea what you are talking about and are just trying to troll this thread. You can't compare the finishes of the two sides and say they are equal. Liverpool had a terrible end to the season, which multiple factors such as already winning the League Cup and still being in the FA Cup could have affected. I really liked Swansea last season, and thought they performed very well, but you can't base a clubs credentials on one good year in the premier league, just as you can't base it off one bad year. Also, you can't really compare McEachran to Shelvey as neither has had enough first team football at the highest level to give you enough information. (it is comments like that which make me doubt and disagree with what you are saying.
  8. Re: Official Liverpool Thread Where's your proof, i bet u have never even seen any of the Liverpool reserves.
  9. Re: Official Liverpool Thread Bye Bye Dirk, Thanks for your years of service, good luck in Turkey!! :):):)

  11. Re: Player Concerns (please read the Online Help if looking for help) Yes you can do it. But clubs aren't forced to do it, and the chairman shouldn't force you into selling them because you won't rise their wages half way through a contract.

  13. Re: Player Concerns (please read the Online Help if looking for help) Personally i don't think players should be concerned with their lack of wages. One of the best things to do in SM is buy players cheap when they have a low rating and what them develop. Making players concerned with their wages really screws over small clubs doing that as they end up losing lots of money due to high wages. Once a player has accepted a contract he really shouldn't be able to complain about his wages, he agreed to it! They surely should have to wait until teh contract is over before asking for higher wages.
  14. Re: [Poll] Should SM be Ad free for Gold users? Seriously, just get ad blocker. I didn't even know SM had ads until i logged on at University.
  15. Re: Too many Gold Championships? I have to agree that there are too many setups being created in general, not just gold memberships. I remember teh good old days where there was on every couple of months, and the would advertise the time and everyone would keep refreshing the page at that time to try and get the best team (most of teh time crashing the site and having to wait 30 mins for teh setup to come online!!) i understand that can't happen anymore because of club reservations, but it will come apoint when when no one will want to join a new setup because there just isn't enough managers around, or people know they can wait a day and try and koin a new setup in hope of a better team. You can see it know, alot of setups have only have around 1/2 to 1/4 of clubs being managed.
  16. Re: PE DEALS-WHEN it will be REMOVED I don't think your going to insult anyone by putting a cash bid in. A player has a chairman value so the bid is never going to be stupidly low, that's not really a problem. A manager can always make a player unavailable if they don't want a bid in on the player. The fact that you have made good teams through player exchange is not surprising, because that is the only way at present you are likely to get any player off a manager. The only way money is useful atm is when you are buying either free agents or from non-managed clubs, or to booster a player exchange deal. That's not why i joined soccer manager, i joined because i wanted to be able to interact with other managers, and at the games current state, there is not that much interaction. its ok when you manage big clubs with good players, but, for example, in the new gold setup i am in, it is impossible to buy from managed clubs. no one is going to sell there players for cash, even players that they don't need or will ever play, there are either going to wasn't a player in exchange for them, or they will use them in a player exchange in another deal.
  17. Re: PE DEALS-WHEN it will be REMOVED Any who are you going to buy if you are Real Madrid or Barcelona anyway?? It comes a point in all setups where managers don't sell players for part exchange anyway. That is why not only does player exchange need to go, money itself needs to become more valuable.
  18. Re: PE DEALS-WHEN it will be REMOVED Its all about communicating with managers. you could still do 2 way deals if you wanted one of their players in advance. Similar when Torres came to liverpool and luis garcia moved. They weren't part of the same deal, but because torres came to liverpool madrid bought garica off them. You obviously haven't been playing Sm for that long. In the older days players did make cash deals, but as set ups have got older, and certain rules have changed money has become less useful. The one main thing i think SM need to improve on is increasing the value of money. One thing they could do is make a certain percentage of a transfer have to be money. Say 70% of the value of the player must be paid in cash. I dunno what i think of that idea, id rather player exchange be scrapped altogether.
  19. Re: PE DEALS-WHEN it will be REMOVED Player Exchange has got to go. I have just joined a new Gold Setup, as Port Vale. It is impossible to buy any players from Human managers. It's either loaning players or buying from external. The soccer manager experience of multilayer managing is in serious decline as you just can't negotiate with others. :(
  20. I have been playing Soccermanager for years now (since 2006). It was (and still is) a great manager game, in my opinion the best online. But one major problem i have with the game, especially when the setup has been running for years is the finances the clubs manage to accumulate. This has been a major problem for years. It devalues cash to the point that managers won't sell players for any kind of money, even if they don't need that player. The aim of my idea is to try and stop every club being able to accumulate vast amounts of money and try and give cash value again. The idea is that at the start of every season the 'chairmen' of the club gives you a set 'transfer kitty' that you can use to buy players. This would take into account the previous season achievements, season tickets, projected ticket sales, wages etc. The only way you can increase this kitty is to sell players. This system is used in other manager games, such as Fifa manager, and so i can't see why it wouldn't work here. This idea can be enhanced further with future options such as communication with the chairman and requesting more money if you are able to get a 'star' player. It could also be grown further be introducing a wage budget as well, and budget allocation etc. What do people think of this idea? Could this be a way to give money value again, and resurrect old setups once more?
  21. Re: [Poll] Should SM be Ad free for Gold users? Just get ad blockers : Problem solved. If having a few ads on the page keeps this site going im happy.
