    CHELSEA NEWS

Chelsea face Portsmouth at Fratton Park tonight to push up the table. Star striker Didier Drogba has already been on target once this season, netting his first against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

    Kanoute Kan Ou Score?

But for the Firing Squad tonight, Freddy Kanoute joins for a fee around £15,000,000 plus Jon Obi-Mikel. Freddy, who once played for Chelsea's opponents Tottenham faces them tonight in his return to the Premiership.
In an exclusive with Frederic Kanoute he had this to say: "Well I knew that Chelsea were searching for a striker to team up with Didi, and with it being Chelsea, I wasn't going to say no. I wanted a fresh start in the Premiership and I hope this is my chance."
Chelsea manager Sam Wainwright wants at least 20 goals between them this season.
His strike partner Didier Drogba claimed: "We can reclaim the Premiership from Man United, it will be tough but i know the boys can do it. If we can get the first few games out of the way with as most wins as possible, I think we have a very strong chance. And as for the SMFA Cup, well we shall see my friend."

Re: Gold Championship 8 - Transfers, Rumors & Match Reports
Here it is! The preview for this season's SMFA Champs Cup. There are loads of top sides, all of whom have been active in the transfer market.

    The Favourites
Barcelona, Chelsea, Arsenal, Madrid, Inter, Milan, Roma, Liverpool, Manchester United.

    SMFA CHAMPIONS CUP(A-D)

    GROUP A
    Chelsea(1st)
Chelsea under Sam, have saw many faces go, and a few faces arrive. Most notably Freddie Kanoute has joined from Sevilla. Outward bound were John Obi Mikel, Salomon Kalou, Andriy Shevchenko and Michael Ballack. Favourites to top this group and should progress much further later on.

    Sevilla(2nd)
Managed by Havoc, the manager has caused much havoc wheeling and dealing in the transfer market. Stars such as Kanoute, Kerzhakov, Hinkel, Fabiano, Chevanton, Keita, Renato, Escude, Poulsen and Navarro have all been shown th door. However, De Rossi, Rafinha, Lahm, Eto’o, Luis Anderson and Mikel have all joined.

    Marseille(3rd)
Even with the loss of starlet Nasri, Marseille are still well equipped with stars. Niang, Cheyrou, Cana, Zubar, Rodriguez and Zubar are all at the club. Even with so much top players, it is unlikely that they will challenge Sevilla and Chelsea to qualify.

    Levski(4th)
This unmanaged side, pose no real threat to Marseille, Sevilla or Arsenal in Group A, with a very weak squad. Even with a manager, it would be highly unlikely that the team would qualify for the latter stages of the cup.

    GROUP B
    Arsenal(1st)
Arsenal, look like topping a tough group adding to the ‘Death’ label given to Group E. With a full squad, and with a midfield including Gilberto, Fabregas, Rosicky and new signing Schweinsteiger, the Gooners are favourites for Group B.

    Valencia(2nd)
With no Morientes, it looks as if Valencia may not make the top spot in this group. But with David Villa, Joaquin, Albelda, Silva and Miguel, this side is reeking with quality. Should qualify indefinitely, but may find it hard battling with Stuttgart Kyiv, and Arsenal for the two places.

    VfB Stuttgart(3rd)
With manager Paul Thame at the helm, Stuttgart are a much changed side. Hitzlsperger, Tasci, Hilbert, Delpierre, Gomez, Ewerthon, Pardo and Magnin have all left, leaving Thame stranded. But he has brought in Neville, Capdevila, Oleguer and Yaya Toure to fill the gaps. With them being the richest club in the setup, Stuttgart may still have new faces before this Cup begins.

    Dynamo Kyiv(4th)
Dynamo will undoubtedly find it very difficult in this group, with Arsenal, Valencia and Stuttgart in it. With Husev, Nesmachnyi and Shovkovskyi there only players top players, they don’t have the strength, nor depth to challenge in this group.

    GROUP C
    Barcelona(1st)
Possibly seen as favourites for the tournament, should qualify from this group with ease. Having added Hitzlsperger, Morales, Nasri and Mario Gomez to the squad, the Spanish giants should go all the way. With Deco, Ronaldinho, Messi, Puyol and Marquez still at the club, they are looking good for the season ahead.

    FC Porto(2nd)
With talent such as Lopez, Quaresma, Gonzalez and Helton, Porto should finish second in this group before Scottish side Rangers. The Portuguese giants are yet to add to their squad, but have a strong enough team to progress into the latter rounds of the competition.

    Rangers(3rd)
With Barcelona and Porto in the group, it looks as if Rangers may have to settle for third in the group. Even with Kris Boyd and Barry Ferguson in the side, it is in no way able to beat Porto or Barcelona to qualify.

    FC Kobenhavn(4th)
Looks as if the Scandinavian side are in Group C, simply to make up the numbers. Even with experience in Jesper Gronkjaer and Marcus Allback, Kobenhavn are more than likely to surprise people by picking up points in this group.

    GROUP D
    Real Madrid(1st)
A tough group for the Spanish side, but they should make it to the next stage. No signings have been made as yet under Bryan, but as soon as he takes full control of the club, they should be eventual winners of this group, and possibly the whle tournament.

    Internazionale(2nd)
This side have been predicted second in the group, but under Danny Williams they could easily finish first. Having brought in Luka Modric and Alessandro Rosina, the manager is clearly building for the future.

    CSKA Moscow(3rd)
Maybe in another group this side could qualify, as with their top team they have the possibility to do well in the tournament. However, in this group I can’t see a way past Real and Inter. However with stars such as Vagner Love, Jo and Daniel Carvalho heading the attack, nothing is impossible.

    Toulouse(4th)
Favourites to occupy bottom spot in this tough, tough group from their perspective. However, with Clayton Green at the helm the French side could possibly sneak third place in the group. With Ebondo and Ilunga at the back, Toulouse are no mugs.

    SMFA CHAMPIONS CUP(E-H)

    GROUP E
    Lyon(1st)
This group is surely labelled the ‘Group of Death.’ Lyon, for their strength and depth in their squad are slight favourites for the first place. With stars such as Fred, Juninho, Grosso and Coupet, with also Morientes added, Lyon are undoubtedly a top side. With an inexperienced manager, this could lead to problems, but I’m sure the squad will suffice.

    SV Werder Bremen(2nd)
Bremen could easily win this group, yet easily finish bottom of it. That just shows how equal the teams are that are involved in Group E. With Brazilian star Diego Ribas, and established stars Mertesacker, Naldo and Borowski, Werder are a quality side. With the additions of Owen Hargreaves and Patrice Evra, these signings can only enhance there chances of qualifying.

    Ajax Amsterdam(3rd)
With a top manager at the helm, Ajax could win the group yet its so tight to call that their predicted finish at the moment is third. With Huntelaar, Heitinga, Stam, Emanuelson and goalkeeper Stekelenburg, they have the potential to go far in the tournament.

    Fenerbahce(4th)
Last in the group, Turkish side are ranked outsiders, but are no way in the tournament to make up the numbers. With Roberto Carlos, Diego Lugano, Mateja Kezman and Stephen Appiah in the team, the Turks will be no pushover. With Distin, Takahara, Byelik and Gusev added to the squad they still pose a threat.

    GROUP F
    Milan(1st)
The side are clear favourites to top Group F, as they have much more quality than the other sides in the group. With players such as Nesta, Kaka, Ronaldo, Pirlo, Gattuso and Seedorf already at the club, with the signings of Joao Moutinho and Iaquinta can only improve the side.

    Schalke 04(2nd)
Like Groups G and H, it’s tough to call who will finish in second place. This time, Schalke are slight favourites to make it through. Even though Kuranyi, Rafinha and Ernst have left, Robert Pires and Roma’s Mancini have joined. With players like Neuer, Halil and Kobiashvili already at the club, they still have the potential to qualify.

    Boca Juniors(3rd)
Boca are similar to Schalke, in the quality of squad at which the manager has at his disposal. Skotti, Perrotta and Loskov have all joined, making the squad stronger, with Palacio, Ledesma and Diaz already there. Predicted to finish third, but may pip Schalke to second.

    Elfsborg(4th)
Every group usually has a whipping boy. In Group F, look no further than unmanaged Elfsborg, who although they have won their first league match, pose no serious threat to Milan, Schalke or Boca. Will surely finish bottom of this group.

    GROUP G
    Manchester United(1st)
The English side are one of the top sides in the tournament and they cannot be ruled out of going all the way. Their squad has seen, Evra, Anderson, Carrick and Neville go. But in their place has come, Berbatov, Van Bommel, Frings, Renato and Mavuba to name a few.

    PSV(2nd)
A strong squad throughout and having added Thierry Henry, Stephan Kiessling and Yannick Djalo to a team with already in it, Kromkamp, Gomes, Salcido, Afellay and Cocu, they should secure second place. A draw on the first day, away at Heracles was disappointing, but I’m sure the Dutch side will bounce back.

    Lazio(3nd)
It is between the Italians and the Dutch side PSV who will take second, and I have went for PSV, but what about Lazio? A side already with Rocchi, Ledesma, Pandev and Zauri have added Seydou Keita to the team. They are a good side, and despite an opening day defeat, will challenge for their domestic title.

    Dinamo Bucuresti(4th)
A side struggling already this season, as they opened the campaign with a 4-1 defeat. Will do well to challenge in the Central European League, and its no doubt they will find it hard to cope with so many games, having such a little squad, with such little ability.
    GROUP H
    Liverpool(1st)
Favourites for the group. No new signings this season, but there is no doubt about the quality of this Liverpool side. Predicted to finish top of the group, and have plenty of time to improve on their defeat at the weekend, at home to Pompey.
    Roma(2nd)
The Italians are a very strong side and will no doubt qualify for the next stage of the competition. Have seen De Rossi, Perrotta, Mancini and Esposito go, but have brought in Kuranyi, Cardozo, Kerzhakov and Poulsen. Looks like they will finish second, just behind Liverpool
    Celtic(3rd)
The Hoops have the strongest side in the Scottish League, but whether the side can cope in Europe is a different matter. They have brought in players like Ewerthon, Smolarek and Radu, with Killen, Hesselink and Zurawski moving on. Could possibly qualify but will have to win at home, and pick up some points away from home too.
    Sao Paolo(4th)
Compared with other sides in the group, the Brazilians are the underdogs to qualify, and are a very old side. They have however, been very active in the transfer market, bringing in the likes of Barry Opdam, Ygor and Villar. They will push for possibly 3rd place in the group and that will be a good achievement for them.

    Hereclues Almero 1-1 PSV
This was a game which might raise a few eyebrows in the world, but the improved PSV, which has seen Theirry Henry enter the Phillips Stadion couldnt force the win out in Herecules as they were held to a dissapointing 1-1 draw.
Goals came from [Herecules] = Everton, [PSV] = Affellay
    Ajax 3-1 FC Brussels
Tom Greenfield's team didnt cause a shock in all fairness but it was basically Ajax who just played top quality football which Brussels couldnt handle int he end. Goals [Ajax] = Bakurcioglu, Maduro, Huntelaar [brussels] Gorius.
    Roda JC 0-2 Anderlecht
Joe Kerr's Anderlecht started the season brightly with a good, convincing 2-0 away win. Goals [Anderlecht] Deschacht, Hassan.
    Club Brugge 1-6 Feyenoord
A good day's work for Leigh's Feyenoord as they rallied past Luke's Club Brugge 6 times as the battle of the forumers ended in rainning goals.
Goals [Clubb Brugge] = Clement [Feyenoord] = Suazo x2, P.J.Sung, Hofts, Nihat, Ballack.
    Standard Liege 2-1 GBA
Standard set themselves the Standard today with nice 2-1 win to the hands of GBA. This is the sort of stuff the fans would be looking for. Goals [stanadrd Liege] = Fellaini, Camargo, [GBA] = D.Cruz.

    Bayern raring to go !!

    Overview !
Bayern Munich manager Adam Johnson this morning completed the signing of two players which in his own words " makes our squad good enough to challenge for the league and cups". This morning Makoun from Lille, and Hilbert from Stuttgart joined Munich. These two players join Hleb, Eduardo Da Silva, Escude, Reanato, Carrick, Amelia and Marin. Johnson still has some money left and is looking to invest it into tomorrows best players.
    Preview!
    Bayern Munich VS Arminia Bielefeld
Johnsons men open there league campaign with a home fixture against a unmanaged team, yet to bring any players in. Infact Arminia Bielefeld have only sold players. Bayern are expected to win this tie easily, Johnson can only hope that his tactics pay off. Klose and Toni will be looking to strike it off as they play there first competitive game as strike partners.
Hertha BSC Berlin VS Borussia Dortmund
Berlin manager Glenn Johnson has only brought in one player, but that player is the talented and powerful Zigic, the bit target man should be a instant hit in the Bundesliga but only time will tell. Dortmund manager has signed no less than 11 players, none are out standing but he has solidified his squad making sure he will be able to compete in all competitions.
    Hansa Rostock VS VFL Bochum
Two unmanaged teams battle it out in Rostock. With Bochum bringing in a couple of players, the media prediction is a away win. Neither team will be challenging for honours but a winning start is always nice.
MSV Duisburg VS 1 FC Nurnberg
Nurnberg are the favourites for this tie, Nurnberg managee has been able to hold onto the great Misimovic. The Bosnian play maker will certainly be the one to watch in this game and should be one to watch out during the season. Neither teams have signed anyone off significance
FC Schalke 04 VS Hannover 96
FC Schalke have sold three players so far this season in Rafinha, Kuranyi and Bordon. In return it see's Anton Ferdinand and Mancini move to the German Giants. In a Schalke missing some familiar faces will they be able to defeat Hannover.
    Alemannia Aachener VS Werder Bremen
A big win is expected for Werder here, with Owen Hargreaves and Patrick Evra joining them this season, they will be expected to push for the title. With the attacking options Werder have, no one doubts that they will walk away with all three points.
    Karlsruher SC VS Bayern Leverkusen
A tough opening game for Karlsruher SC as they open the league with a game against Leverkusen. Leverkusen have been busy in the market, most notably negioating a deal with stuttgart for Gekas to leave and Osorio and Cacau to move to in.
    VFL Wolfsburg VS FSV Mainz
Wolfsburg are tipped to win this tie, neither teams have changed to much about there squads, wolfsburg have bought in Faubert and Bowyer. The mood amongst neutrals is that it will be a home win in this game.
    Hamburger SV VS Eintracht Frankfurt
The up and coming Hamburger face Eintracht Frankfurt in what should be a victory. Hamburger have held onto there prize asset Van Der Vaart even with strong interest from Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Roma.
    VFB Stuttgart VS Energie Cottbus
Pauls new look Stuttgart are expected to take all three points against a unmanaged Cottbus. Stuttgart have had a mass exodus of players even with fans favourite Gomez leaving for the Nou camp. However he has brough in gekas and he is expected to do very well.
Good luck everyone with tonights fixtures

News from Anfield, Manager Havoc has found a new home for Gerrard the teams Captain and Icon, as the manager felt it was time to part with Gerrard and shape team into a different direction with different formations.Gerrard is headed to Barcelona whom have been very busy today bringing some World Class Talent which boast the likes of Gerrard and Ibrahmovic.
Liverpool are not done yet, this move for Eto'o was just the first of many that needed to get done.Liverpool had been in a three way race for W Quaresma from FC Porto and had edged out Real Madrid with a cash bid of 22mil, but the other Spanish Giants Barcelona trumped that.
Liverpool now are directing there full attention to find a midfielder that can step into Gerrard's spot and get the job done. Liverpool manager was quoted saying this" No one will be able to do the job Gerrard did for us, but we will do our best to find a player that will bring similar results"

It's not because we have him in our teams, but it's because what we think of him, our opinion of Xavi and the way he plays.
Have you ever seen Xavi play that you're doubting his abilities.
It isn't a matter of him beng in our team, if SM wants to drop him then so be it.
Maybe you have Fabregas in your team. . Fabregas, only 20, give him time, understand!!, give him time!!
    Xavi and Gerrard....
Gerrard, best midfielder in Europe, all rounder.. defends, attacks...
Xavi.... world class passer, creator, tackler, and is the heart of the Barca midfield. TBH Barca midfield is weak without him.
Xavi is fine, Kaka is fine, Gerrard is fine.
If you actually see them.... they have different styles of play..... all these players are better than the other in different attributes.

Just a small suggestion to improve the "No Player Exchange" thing.
I looked at Every Gold Championship there is and found that every team has one or more star players missing?
What I'm suggesting is that an unmanaged team is not allowed to sell a star player.
Now a player can go for the right price only (No players on the side) but sometimes money cannot buy a suitable replacement.
    Example:
Barcelona are unmanaged (Yeah right:rolleyes: )
Other managers would not be able to buy the likes of eto'o, Henry, Ronaldinho, Messi etc just yet.
So the new manager can take over with a full squad
I am mainly targeting this to GC's and new setups because every team you see available, they always have their star players missing. Also in GC's players rated 86+ are considered as the best in the game as there is such a huge scramble for players.
    Any Ideas guys?
Just a simple idea which leads to so many unmanage teams (I think)
