    Palmeiras
At 15.07 today, Brazilian club Palmeiras appointed insider as their new manager. insider welcomed the challenge and was pleased to go up against his friends Gazza and Sparky. Brazil boasts many young talents who usually go onto bigger things and this is one factor which insider was pleased about, he said: "I aim to build a team on youth players. We will grow and develop these players into stars. With the Champions league scrapped and the SMFA Cup open to every team in the world, no player would have the urge to join a big team just to play in a serious club competition. Our main aim is to qualify for the SMFA Cup and have a good domestic cup run. There is no pressure to win anything, we just want to build a good young squad together. All dead wood will be removed to make way for future stars!"

Gilardino hat trick eases Viola to another win

With Juventus and Internazionale on their heels, Sheva said that it was crucial not to drop any points against weaker teams.
Fiorentina hosted struggling Cagliari. New loan signing Noboa made his debut for Fiorentina. Injuries to key players at CM like Felipe Melo and Ricardo Montolivo has forced Sheva to look to make the loan signing. The Ecuadorian impressed on debut as he setup up Gilardino for the first and also set Gilardino up for his third goal.
Gilardino got the Viola off to good start as early as the 6th minute. However Cagliari responded with an equaliser just 6 minutes later. Sheva was furious at the touchline after some poor communication at the back from Cata Diaz and Francois Clerc. Mutu restored their lead at the stroke of half time much to the relief of the home fans and the manager. 2-1 at the break was obviously not good enough for the manager.
Whatever the manager said at half time must have worked as Mutu scored his second 6 minutes past the hour mark. Then Gilardino scored two more in the space of 4 minutes to make the final score 5-1. A convincing performance in the second half ensured that the Viola maintain their point lead above Juventus.

    Deadly duo deliver once again

95+ - A player who has proved his class both on the domestic and continential or international stage.
This is on Soccer Manager website, now if that doesn't describe Iniesta then well I don't know what rating he is in. Proving his class for the best International team in the world AND proving himself for probably the best football club in the world. He's keeping a 95, albeit possibly in for a drop, Fabregas out of the spanish national team so surely he deserves that 96.

FC Rostov Sign Carlitos On Loan!

Russian minnows FC Rostov have managed to sign Portuguese midfielder Alberto Carlitos on loan from German champions FC Bayern. The deal was completed just a few minutes ago, and despite Carlitos making a move so early, he is expected to make his debut against Saturn tonight.
Sparky was delighted with the move and had nothing but praise for Bayern manager Kevin Heaton who responded very quickly: "It's hard to get big clubs who co-operate with a club our stature, but it goes to show that they are there to support us and help us along the way. I thank Bayern Munich and the manager and hope he manages to retain his title in the Bundesliga. I would also like to thank Internazionale manager Kenneth McCandless as well as Valencia manager Ziggy Redstall who have all helped us severely"
Carlitos will line up alongside countryman Hugo Viana tonight and manager Sparky has said that the partnership between the two is one to relish, regardless of whether his team win or lose: "Hugo performed absolutely incredibly on his debut, and I have heard a lot about Carlitos, let's just hope he too can impress. Carlitos will be played on the left flank with Viana next to him in the centre, I can't wait to see how the two get on. We now have four players who will be key to us this season. Carlitos, Viana, Gatskan and Nelson Rivas. our squad is building up nicely".

Man Of The Match: Hugo Viana (7/10)

FC Rostov continued their brilliant start to the season with an impressing 2-0 win over league rivals Tom Tomsk. A different team was fielded from the win over FK Moskva as manager Sparky gave debuts to Diego Ruiz, Jhon Valencia and Hugo Viana. And it was Viana who stole the limelight as he impressed throughout the match with key passes as well as brilliant attempts on goal.
The Portuguese claimed that he wanted to impress on his debut, and impress is what he did as the former Newcastle man scored on the 24th minute with a brilliant header.
The points were then guaranteed for Rostov as their defensive midfielder A.Kulchy slid the ball under the keer after timing a superb run to beat the offside trap.
Rostov have won both of their opening games, scoring four and conceding one.

Only 100% record in La Liga

    Atl. Madrid 3 - 2 Almeria

    H. PELLERANO (7)
    S. SIMAO (20)
    D. FORLAN (55)
    D. ALBERT CRUSAT (63)
    S. EGUREN (72)

The scoreline from tonights match flattered Almeria as they were totally outplayed in all areas. Dai Winston was upset with the conceding two goals but is happy they got the three points that they deserved from the performance. Atletico are now the only team that have their 100 percent record intact, for how long, nobody knows but Atletico are going to enjoy it while it lasts.
Almeria took the lead after just seven miuntes with one of only two shots they had on target all game. This sparked Atletico into life and they started to hammer on the door for an equalizer. They were looking to their stars to inspire them and they didn't disappoint. A long ball through the middle, beat all of the Almeria defence and allowed Sabrosa Simao through on goal and he made no mistake as he volleyed into the net. Almeria were lucky to be level at half time.
Winston's team started the second half as they ended the first, on the front foot and should have taken the lead on at least two occasions. The goal that did give them the lead was worth waiting for though. Diego Forlan picked up the ball just inside the opposition half, ran towards goal and let fly a screaming shot that gave the keeper no chance. A superb goal to give his team the lead.
That lead lasted just 6 minutes as a lapse in concentration let Almeria in and finish after some poor marking. That made Winston furious and as he vented his frustrations at his players, they responded and within ten minutes they had their winner. Pre-season signing, Sebastian Eguren showed some great pace to get on the end of a through ball and then fire a thumping drive into the goal. A deserved winner as Atletico had been the better team.

    Transfer news:

Winston has been busy trying to offload some want-away players, so far he has succeeded with three of those players managing to bring in replacements he feels will add to the squad. Luis Garcia joined Spartak in a deal that saw Vladimir Bystrov come in. Ever Banega, who was not happy with Winston's appointment, made a swift exit when Brazilian Cicinho was offered. Finally, Giourkas Seitaridis moved to Hamburg with Joris Mathijsen
    arriving the other way.
There are still deals wanting to be done by Winston but he feels their are no managers willing to negotiate properly.

Bystrov, Cicinho and Mathijsen have all joined Winston's ranks.

Match Review: Dynamo Moskva 0-5 Spartak Moskva
Spartak Moskva tonight beaten rivals Dynamo Moskva to go top of the Russian Division 1 table. Spartak manager Jake Alexiuk had this to say on the emphatic result "I am so pleased with the team performance tonight, We looked like a SMFA Cup winning team and it could've been more than 5 by full time. In the end I am very pleased that we are top of the league and we have a friendly with PSG on the 15th February (tomorrow) witch I am very sure we will win by a country mile the form we are on."
New Spartak Moskva signing David Pizzaro got he's first goal in Russian football in just under 25 minutes of play. After a cross from winger Julio Baptista he rised above all of the defence to head the ball in to the bottom corner of the net.
It was shortly 2-0 11 minutes later after a mix up in the defense allowed Julio Baptista to thunder the ball from close range.
3-0 and more or less game over for Dynamo Moskva as Portuguese striker Nuno Gomes scored 9 minutes after half time.
Julio Baptista then got he's second goal of the game on the 66th minute after the ball came to him inside the box and Baptista neatly finished.
Baptista then made it 5-0 and a hat-trick for the on form Brazilian, after another defensive error in the box allowed him to bundle the ball over the goal line.

    ON FORM
Brazilian striker Julio Baptista has scored 4 goals in 2 appearances for Spartak Moskva.

Kaptain Keane Inspires Tottenham To London Derby Win!
Tottenham Hotspur tonight lined up against the biggest side in London in the form of Chelsea FC. Rhys Hunt's Spurs and Harendeep Singh's Chelsea both went into this game with a 100% league record winning two out of two. It was always going to be a very tight game when these two sides met at Stamford Bridge.
Tottenham started off the brighter side, forcing two great stops from the Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech, with Modric coming closest with a header. Then in the 16th minute Spurs' early pressure paid off when their Captain Robbie Keane smashed the ball first time to give Spurs the 1-0 lead, that was Keane's 4th goal in 3 league games this season. Then just two minutes later big Chelsea centre back Rodrigo Alex found himself in loads of space and made no mistake in slotting the ball home.

Half Time: Chelsea 1-1 Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham then started the brighter in the second half with a goal mouth scramble just being poked wide of the goal. Then on the 54th minute little Croatian play-maker Luka Modric darted past 3 Chelsea players and blasts the ball straight past the keeper, this goal from the Croat turned out to be the winner. This was no lucky win for Spurs as they had 60% of possesion and had double the amount of shots that Chelsea had, Tottenham have totally out-played Chelsea today.
Full Time: Chelsea 1-2 Tottenham Hotspur

Keane and Modric got the goals for Spurs in their sides amazing win against Chelsea

FC Rostov - Small Club, High Ambitions...!

Just a few hours ago, Russian first division side Rostov sensationally appointed Mitu Ahmed as their new boss. Ahmed, who is known mianly for managing some of Europe's top guns claimed he was after a 'real challenge' and decided to take over Rostov, a side which consists of just 22 players. However, regardless of the size of the squad or the quality within the team, boss Sparky has said that his new team are very ambitious and that their main goal would be to gain promotion to the Russian Premier division where they can go against the likes of CSKA, Spartak, Zenit and more. He told FC Rostov.TV: "It will definitely be a challenge, but an exciting one nonetheless. I have an ambitious bunch of players who are very eager to impress, and with the right support from the fans and the board, we will be back into the premier division in no time."
Ahmed has reportedly been given approximately £6,000,000 to spend, a vast amount for the club to give out...But an extremely small amount for Sparky, who is used to spending more than £20,000,000 - £30,000,000 on one player on a regular basis: "The money given to me is not a substantial amount, but that's because we won't be going for superstars like I am used to. We will be looking to build slowly and everybody in the club will be given the chance to prove their worth".

    "All Help Appreciated" - Sparky

During the press conference, new FC Rostov manager has indicated to all other managers in the footballing world that an ambitious club like Rostov would do with help, by bringing in ambitious players who are hungry to perform. Rostov currently go against FK Moskva as underdogs, with no signings or no tactics being talked about...Rostov look almost certain to lose. But Sparky has said that he cannot do the job alone and needs help from his fellow peers: "There are numerous big clubs around the world, and we're only allowed to loan three players. We only need 85+ rated players, what they may call 'mediocre' players may prove to be the best players we've ever had. I urge all managers to contact us if they can lend us a helping hand"

    Sparky Tips GATSKAN To Shine

When asked about his main players, Ahmed replied with only one name...Aleksandr GATSKAN. The 24 year old winger who is undoubtedly Rostov's best player will play a huge role in their season. There was doubts whether the Moldovian would remain at the club but Ahmed confirmed that GATSKAN shares the same ambition and hopes as himself: "He's a great player, it's as simple as that. He is to us what Ronaldo is to Man U, Messi is to Barca and Gerrard is to Liverpool. He's an insipiration to the rest of the lads and I'm sure he will be there to share Rostov's glory come the end of the season"

"He's An Inspiration" - Ahmed Talks About Gatskan

Ahmed has told Goal.com that his main aim is promotion but will also look to the cup and shield for financial help. He was reluctant to sell any of his players claiming they were all important and has said that his team will look to increase revenue as well as publicity through the cups.

    Internazionale Appoint New Manager!
FC Internazionale Milano yesterday appointed young Irish Manager Kenneth McCandless as the successor to Jose Mourinho. The former Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid manager will now get his chance to prove himself in Italy with the Italian giants. The decision to appoint McCandless was made just a day after Jose Mourinho walked away from the club, following a bust-up with the directors at the Nerazzurri. It is unclear yet has to who McCandless will appoint as his assistant, but one name being mentioned vigorously is that of Italian Roberto Martínez, currently manager of English Championship side Swansea City.

Could Martinez be on his way to Inter to join as assistant?
In an interview earlier today, McCandless told SMTV reporters:
Internazionale - Key Players This Season
With the start of the Serie 'A' season just two days, Internazionale boss McCandless identified a few players he believes will be vital to their title challenge.
Christian Chivu - The Romanian Centre Back will be at the heart of Milan's defence this season. The 28 year old has been rock solid for the Italian Champions over the past few years and McCandless feels this year will be no different.
Sulley Ali Muntari - The Ghanaian has been a sensation for the Nerazzurri ever since his move from Portsmouth in the summer. It is no wonder McCandless has singled the 24 year old out. A lot of pressure will be on Muntari's shoulders now, but McCandless feels this will make him an even better asset to the team.
Esteban Cambiasso - Former Real Madrid midfielder was appointed the new captain today, but it is unsure whether he is the subject of a bid from Barcelona. However, it is significant that McCandless has made the Argentine his new captain, possibly signaling he won't be sold.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic - McCandless admitted today that he used not to be a fan of the Swede, but confessed after watching him in more detail that he was nothing short of amazing. Key to Inters goals, Ibrahimovic was made unavailable, despite a rumored swap for Sergio Aguero late last night.

    Inter Milan Transfer News
Internazionale have been very quiet in the transfer market thus far. Manager Kenneth McCandless has been quoted as saying that the market is heavily over-priced, also stating that he has received ridiculous counter offers, in cases where he has made respectable bids. However one deal was finalised this morning. Inter Milan left back Scherer Maxwell has agreed to join Inters arch rivals AC Milan, in a deal that will see both Daniele Bonera and Marco Borriello join Inter. McCandless has been coy on any links with players, but has stated before he would really like to bring the average age of the squad down. Thus, he placed Marco Materazzi, Patrick Vieira, Dejan Stankovic and Luis Figo all on the transfer list.

Set to switch the red of AC for the blue of Inter
    SMFA Cup Group C

Inter were relatively happy when they found out their SMFA Group consisted of Arsenal, Boca Juniors and New England Revolution. Inter are favourites to win the group along with Arsenal to qualify in second, however McCandless warned of Boca Juniors and their experienced manager. He stated that they will be a very difficult opponent and may well qualify ahead of Inter or Arsenal. McCandless stated that his second team will play most if not all the games during the group stages and that the first team may not play a part until the quarter finals, provided Inter get that far.

    Los Merengues Sign IBRAHIMOVIC!!!

Spanish champions Real Madrid have strengthen their team further by sensationally snapping up one of the world's lethal strikers. Swedish international Zlatan Ibrahimovic was the latest superstar to be added to the Galacticos side as he looks set to replace Ruud Van Nistelrooy.
Los Merengues did sign Kurany a few months ago but Sparky was not pleased with his performances and claimed that Kuranyi would never be as good as Van Nistelrooy. However, the manager revealed his delight after signing Ibrahimovic and told Marca: "He is one of the world's best players. I am absolutely delighted to have signed him, not because he wouldn't have wanted to join, but the fact that Barcelona accepted our first bid straight away. I cannot wait to see him in action"
Ibrahimovic arrived from Barcelona in a deal which saw unsettled winger Joe Cole and seocnd favourite right back Christian Zaccardo head the other way. Sparky claimed that he was proud of the deal as he managed to release some of his dead wood players in exchange for world class ones.

    Sparky Relishing Eto'o-Ibrahimovic Partnership

Just a few hours after swooping for Ibrahimovic, Manager Mitu Ahmed could not hold his excitement of the prospect of seeing his new player and his star player Eto'o in action together.
Cameroonian striker Eto'o, who also arrived from Barcelona last season was the La Liga's top scorer and won the La Liga Golden Boot, and Ibrahimovic who had a decent seaosn with Barca is one of the world's best strikers. Sparky said that his 'new look' team will bring back the entertaining football which Real Madrid are renowned for. He told SSN: "We are the best club in the world-Simple. Our aim is not only to win games, but to demolish teams and entertain our fans. My team is looking good, as I have mentioned, there is no pressure on them but we have the whole world excited when we mention players like Casillas, Sergio Ramos, Iniesta, Sneijder, Robben, Eto'o and Ibrahimovic playing in the same team. It should be good!"
Eto'o then spoke to Marca about his new partnership: "The manager has done a fantastic job. I don't feel pressurized or intimidated by Ibra, he is a lethal striker and it would be an honour playing alongside him. I feel we both are similar players. We like to run against defenders and we both love to score goals. He is hungry for goals and so am I. I managed to win the La Liga golden boot last season, and I can assure you, with a partner like him in the team...it will be going back to one of us"

    New Dream Team: Eto'o-Ibrahimovic

The duo are expected to start tomorrow against Real Betis where Real Madrid kick start their La Liga title defense.
