  4. Re: Coca Cola League 1 Official Thread. There doesn't seem to be much Southampton input going on here, so I thought I'd do some filling in on some things I've learnt this season. 1. Marcus Leibherr is God. Fact. 2. The football in league one isn't terrible, some of the passing and all 'round play is at a much higher quality than expected. 3. Never doubt Radhi Jaidi, the man knows what he's doing. 4. Yellow cards and free kicks don't seem to given in League One, unless Andy D'Urso is refereeing. 5. The Johnstone's Paint Trophy is the best trophy in the world, ever. 6. Alan Pardew is a mi
  5. Re: Southampton FC transfers and success?? It's nice to see a Southampton thread which has the word 'success' in the title. I can give you opinions, but they're not very good ones. I love Fonte, he's a brilliant defender, although anything's an improvement when you consider all we had before were Trotters and Jhaidi. Jon Otsemobor seems pretty average, I don't really know why Pardew bothered, but I don't really have a clue what goes on in that man's head. Barnard wasn't particularly awful, but he didn't see much of the ball. The Stockport game didn't really liven up until Papa W came on. The
  6. Re: Musical geniuses of the 20th century. Aha, I think you underestimate the children of the '80s and '90s. You can hear the influences of all the aforementioned artists in a lot of recent music, the Smiths influence shines through in the work of bands such as White Lies, there's definitely more than a touch of the Jam to bands such as Twisted Wheel and the Enemy. Give it time, and I can guarantee the influence will become more and more marked. I also have to argue with the fact that you say they didn't change music. Surely, if they inspired someone to pick up a guitar, or to listen to a ce
  7. Re: Coca Cola League 1 Official Thread. I love the fact that everyone's written Southampton off already. Anyway, this season is going to be AMAZING. All these exciting and exotic places I get to visit. As Mr. Pardew put it, everything at the club's fine, except from the team, which is a BIG problem, as they're all rubbish. I'm just hoping he has a few tricks up his sleeve. That said, we still have Raziak and Euell, and everyone knows what great players they are. Mid-table for us, I think?
  8. Re: Which Promoted Team Will Finish Highest I went for Birmingham, because of the teams who played us last season down St. Mary's, they were by far the best. I don't think Burnley's style of football will be suited to the top flight, it's abit too slow, and I think they'll find it hard to keep up, although then again, they proved everyone wrong in the FA cup, who's to say they won't do it again? I'm not sure about Wolves, but the first name I saw on the transfers in list was Andrew Surman. To be honest, last season he was awful, he couldn't even shine within our Southampton team, and altho
  9. Re: Musical geniuses of the 20th century. Aha, I don't think it's up to us to say what people will be listening to for the next few hundred years. There have been a few good suggestions, and whoever mentioned Oasis, Blur and Paul Weller has my eternal respect. BUT I CAN'T BELIEVE NO ONE HAS MENTIONED THE SMITHS?! INSANITY. Also, there are a few other names that I think deserve a mention, although most of you will probably disagree. Some of them have already had a mention, I just wanted to mention them again. Graham Coxon, Damon Albarn, the brothers Gallagher, Peter Doherty, Morrissey, Ia
  10. Re: Right now i'm listening to... Woaaaah. This thread is WAAAAAY longer than I ever remember it being. Anyway, I'm listening to Emmy the Great, The Easter Parade. It's pretty folk music, quite a contrast to whatever Sam just posted.
  11. Re: Southamton FC go into administration. Panic over. Southampton are absolutely fine. And we have a nice billionaire owner from the land of the Swiss. Things are looking up. The only question now is who the new manager will be. Big talk of Gordon S coming back after he was spotted at the training ground, but word has it "Strachan is still friends with the medical staff, retains a house in the area and popped along for some treatment on a bad back." Um, yeah, whatever. It would be brilliant if he came back, the fans adore him and he's a brilliant manager. But apparently there's a short list,
  12. Re: a typical day in the life of a chat room.. Awwwh, I miss those days too, Jamie. I miss the days of awful jokes about Kleenex and soap, and the days where I was the only one who ever bothered to correct anyone's grammar, and everyone hated me for it. When the mods new how to have a laugh, and everything was a joke. Nowadays chat is full of malice, and hatred, and awfulness, and to be honest, I've had enough. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the new people, I'm happy chat's moved on, however I feel it hasn't moved in a direction I see as positive, and I think the atmosphere has

    Snow!

Re: Snow! I actually love snow. My snowman is by far the best: He was called George. I don't know why.
  15. Re: Oasis - Love/Hate Them & Top 10 Songs I think it's my turn to make a competent attempt to defend the brothers Gallagher. In my opinion, Oasis are absolutely brilliant. They put their heart and soul into their music, and in my humble opinion the outcome is amazingly anthemic music which always puts a smile on my face. People say that they only ever made two good albums (Definately Maybe and What's The Story) however there's more to it than that. The Masterplan is the best B-side compilation you're ever likely to find, and I reckon it's final proof that, with Oasis, there are no half m
