  1. Re: Nicky Shorey to a 90?! Malbranque to a 90? How does the chant go? "If Danny Mills can play for England so can I"?
  2. Re: Big Risers from Argentina Are you sure of this? According to ESPN SoccerNet he played all 90 minutes for Racing Club in the 2-1 loss to Boca, where Riquelme scored both goals in the win. Juan Forlin also played the full 90 for Boca and should be in for a good little rise.
  3. Re: carrick overlooked I really find it hard to believe how SM and people on this forum underrate Carrick. He is a brilliant passer of the ball and consistently builds the attack for United. He was a HUGE part of their last two Premiership titles and the Champions League (did you see how he out played Iniesta and Xavi against Barcelona). With Carrick missing in the beginning of the season, United are only in 8th position. They are a better team with him in the lineup and now that he is fit he will go back into his starting spot, where he plays more than any other Man United midfielder. And for his lack of England appearances, all I can say is...well, they are hardly the model of success are they? I'll take the opinion of Sir Alex Ferguson (who paid 18.6 million for Carrick and recently gave him a new 5 year contract) over Capellos. The man is a 92 easily. *For the record I can't stand Man United and wouldn't mind if they get relegated, but I am just looking at this from an unbiased viewpoint, I suggest some others should do the same.
  4. Re: Italian Ratings What does everyone think of these players in the upcoming rating changes? +1 for all of them? Paolo De Ceglie (Juventus) Sokratis Papastathopoulos (Genoa) Claudio Marchisio (Juventus) Felipe Melo (Fiorentina) Fernando Tissone (Udinese)
  5. Re: Help offloading players! One thing I have always found useful when trying to sell off a lot of players, is to try to sell your starters first, because then the backups chairman value raises and you can maximize the money you get for your squad. And as for players...well you want to keep Lavezzi, Hamsik, Santacroce and Maggio for sure.
  6. I need help with my Norwich team on who to sign in defense and center midfield. The rest of my team is pretty set, but I need more depth at these two positions. Ruano Alexis (Valencia) Gonzalo Rodriguez (Villareal) Pablo Zabaleta (Man City) Abdoulay Konko (Sevilla) Andrea Dossena (Liverpool-though transfer banned for a little longer) Paolo De Ceglie (Juventus - TB for awhile). Fernando Amorebieta(Athletic Bilbao) Nicola Legrottaglie (Juventus) Sokratis Papastathopoulos (Genoa) Alexandre Song (Arsenal) MIDFIELD Claudio Marchisio (Juventus) Felipe Melo (Fiorentina) Anderson Hernanes (Sao Paulo) Fernando Tissone (Udinese) Stefan Dufour (Standard Liege) Sahin Nuri (Borussia Dortmund) Arturo Vidal (Bayer Leverkusen) Ismael Aissati (Ajax) Thanks for your help!!!
  7. Re: 20yo Striker- Big Rating Increase - Jonathan Biabiany You said let you know if there was a thread on him...Ahmed mentioned him over a year ago... http://forum.soccermanager.com/showthread.php?t=11727&highlight=biabiany
  8. Re: Juan Forlin - ARGENTINAN SURE RISER According to Goal.com he has moved to Real Madrid but is involved in the passport scandal. http://www.goal.com/en-india/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=776171
  9. Re: Dominic Cervi! He doesn't play on the Bucks anymore' date=' he is still searching for a club as far as I know. [url']http://www.buckssoccer.com/Roster/index_E.html[/url]
  10. Re: Dominic Cervi! The Michigan Bucks is just a PDL (premier development league) team. The league is basically a showcase for MLS teams to find players. Cervi was on the team when he played in college for Tulane. He was drafted by the Chicago Fire with the 12th overall pick but did not sign. He has had various tryouts and is considered a free agent. The PDL is an amateur league therefore a team like the Bucks do not own their rights. Most of the players on this team are current collegiate athletes and the league has to be an amateur one or it would effect their NCAA eligibility.
  11. Re: U-19 UEFA Championship finals James Henry and Kieran Gibbs were both on loan with Norwich for part of last season. Gibbs started very slow but by the end of the season started to look the part, but Henry really struggled and never got it going. Reading recalled him because he couldn't get a game in a terrible Norwich team. Definitely not impressed with him, especially with all the hype that preceded him, but he is still young and can get it together.
  12. Here are a few prospects that have played collegiately in the USA. None of them are on the database, though they all should be. Julius James Defender - Toronto F.C. One of the best collegiate players in the nation this year, James was named the Big East Conference "Defensive Player of the Year" and was made the 9th pick in the 2008 MLS SuperDraft after another great year at the University of Connecticut. James made his debut yesterday against the L.A. Galaxy and scored on a header in the 49th minute. Tony Beltran Midfielder - Real Salt Lake Mentioned by Insider in one of his U20-Full reports, Beltran is one of the top American prospects and a very talented winger and had a solid showing at the U20 tournament last summer. Future USA International. Had a good collegiate career at St. Johns and UCLA. Also has made his MLS debut against the Galaxy and was the third overall draft pick in the 2008 MLS SuperDraft. Chance Myers Defender - Kansas City Wizards The first overall pick in the 2008 MLS SuperDraft, Myers was a college teammate of Beltran at UCLA where he managed four goals and four assists in 42 games over two years. Has represented USA at U-18,20 and 23 levels and has already made seven appearances for the Wizards, including six starts. Brek Shea Midfielder - F.C. Dallas Another USA U-20 international, Shea was the second overall pick in the MLS SuperDraft and has also made his MLS debut already. Sean Franklin Defender - L.A. Galaxy Has been linking up well with Beckham at the Galaxy, playing in most of L.A.'s games this season. A USA youth international, Franklin was the fourth overall pick in the 2008 MLS SuperDraft. Shea Salinas Forward - San Jose Earthquakes Talented forward who has already made four appearances after a great career at Furman University. Was the 15th overall pick in the 2008 MLS SuperDraft. Joseph Lapira Forward - Nybergsund I.L. (Norway) The 2006 college player of the year, Lapira signed for Norwegian first division side Nybergsund and has scored four goals in five games, including a brace on his debut. Lapira had 22 goals in 23 games his junior year at Notre Dame and made his debut for the Republic of Ireland in a friendly against Ecuador on May 23, 2007.
  13. Jonas Ramalho - Defender - Athletic Bilbao - 14 years old Iker Munain - Midfielder - Athletic Bilbao - 15 years old Ramalho and Munain made their Athletic Bilbao debuts in the fiendly against Amorebita yesterday. Tough to find info on either player, but both started the game and apparently very impressive. Doesn't seem like it will be too long before either makes their first team debut in league play. Jack Wilshire - Midfielder - Arsenal - 16 years old Wilshire, typically a center mid, made his first start for Arsenal reserves on the left and capped off his debut with a goal. Though it will obviously be some time before he can crack the first team, Wilshire is highly rated at Arsenal and looks to be one for the future. Alex Pearce - Defender- Reading - 19 years old - rated 76 Searched for him but couldn't find any info on him, but has probably been mentioned before. Pearce is on loan at Norwich City from Reading and had a tremendous debut last weekend. He has previously had loan spells at Northampton and Bournemouth and if he can stay in the Norwich first team (which I think he should) he could be a big riser when the English ratings come around.
  14. Re: Italian Ratings Inter Milan have a few players who need to be added to the database: Marco Filippini Luca Siligardi Filippo Mancini all played today in their 3-0 win over Reginna today and Gabrielle Puccio appeared earlier in the season in the cup and the Champions League. Also, Alberto Paloschi who was added recently to AC Milan scored their only goal against Catania Calcio on Wednesday. He is only rated 72 so get him now. I don't have too much information on them, but all five apparently are good prospects and if they are already making the breakthrough at Inter and AC Milan, they should be worth snapping up.
  15. Re: Guess the Gem Okay I will give it a shot. This South American forward (edit - playing in Europe) has guided his team to a surprising 11th place so far this season. He has started 15 out of 18 games and managed 10 goals already. With a goal rate like that he must surely be highly rated shouldn't he? Well this gem is only an 85.
  16. Re: Guess the Gem Vasilis Torosidis
  17. Re: Ljubomir Fejsa (all credit to bestpay) Outsider, You knew the basketball players? I am very sorry for your loss. Absolutely terrible incident. Take care man.
  18. Re: Italian Midfield help Thank's Steve for the advice, anyone else have any opinion?
  19. I have been searching for a young midfielder and finally have saved up enough money to buy one but need help deciding what the best value is. I have narrowed down my list to a bunch of Italians (and 1 Spaniard). Please let me know who you think the best purchase of the group is for not only the shorterm, but the longterm as well. Luca Cigarini, Parma, CM 21 years old rated 86 Chairman Value = 6.5 million Alberto Riera, Espanyol, LM/AM 25 years old rated 88 CV = 7.7 million Danielle Desena, Parma, CM 20 years old rated 87 CV = 7.8 million Antonio Nocerino, Juventus, CM/RM 22 years old rated 87 CV = 8.2 million Pasquale Foggia, Cagliari, AM/RM 24 years old rated 88 CV = 8.5 million Thank you for the help.
