  4. Re: Gold Championship 10 Match Report Thread AEK Athens 2-6 Benfica Scorers Nuno Gomes (Benfica), 19, 29 & 69 mins Kevin Hofland (Benfica), 43 mins Armando Petit (Benfica), 52 & 87 mins Sergio Conceicao (AEK Athens), 9 mins Ricardo Fernandes (AEK Athens), 31 mins Benfica continued their impressive start to the season with their fourth win out of four and it came in emphatic fashion with a 6-2 result away to AEK Athens, AEK Athens got off to a good start though as Sergio Conceicao put them ahead on the 9th minute but then the game swung in Benfica's favour as Nuno Gomes put Benfica 2-1 ahead with goals on the 19th and 29th minute but AEK Athens came back only two minutes later as Ricardo Fernandes equalised on the 31st minute to make it 2-2, there was only one other goal in the first half and it came courtesy of Kevin Hofland to put Benfica 3-2 up going into the break. The second half was pretty much one sided as Armando Petit got in on the scoring on the 52nd minute with his first goal of the game and Nuno Gomes got a well deserved hat trick as he bundled the ball over the line on the 69th minute to ensure he was taking home the match ball, Armando Petit finished off the rout as with only three minutes to go he scored what was a poachers goal to get his second of the game and to make the final score 6-2 to Benfica.
  5. Re: Gold Championship 9 - Match reports / Transfers thread AZ Alkmaar 1-1 Feyenoord Scorers Andwele Slory (Feyenoord), 85 mins Danny Koevermans (AZ Alkmaar), 29 mins Feyenoord missed the chance to go clear at the top of the table tonight as they were held to a 1-1 draw by AZ Alkmaar, Feyenoord made a terrible start to the game as just 12 minutes in Gael Clichy was shown a straight red card for his reckless tackle and Feyenoord were going to be up against it with 10 men for most of the game, the first goal came from a Danny Koevermans strike on the 29th minute but Feyenoord were surprisingly the stronger team throughout even though they were a man down and they got their reward just five minutes from time when Andwele Slory hit a low shot into the net and the game ended in a 1-1 draw. Feyenoord missed the chance to go clear at the top as FC Twente went down 1-0 away from home to Club Brugge which now leaves Feyenoord and FC Twente level on points but FC Twente are ahead due to their superior goal difference, Ajax who are third also slipped up tonight as they were held to a 1-1 draw against Sparta Rotterdam in Rotterdam which now leaves them three points behind the joint leaders.
  6. Re: Ross v Tom v Mark v Teb v Torley v Toggs I have sold Sproule and Elliot and I have signed Ivica Dragutinovic and Matteo Brighi, I also got Quinton Fortune on loan.
  7. Re: Ross v Tom v Mark v Teb v Torley v Toggs Disappointing start, Bristol City 0-1 Cardiff City.
  8. Re: Gold Championship 10 Match Report Thread Benfica 3-0 Beitar Jerusalem Scorers Sulley Ali Muntari (Benfica), 12 & 39 mins Anderson Luizao (Benfica), 61 mins Benfica made it three wins out of three in the Mediterranean league and also yet to concede any goals, Benfica were expected to win this match as they have the better players and they were at home and they didn't dissapoint as Benfica ran out comfortable 3-0 winners with a brace from new signing Sulley Ali Muntari and man of the match Anderson Luizao got the other goal to keep Benfica top of the table.
  9. Re: Gold Championship 9 - Match reports / Transfers thread Vitesse Arnhem 2-3 Feyenoord Scorers Theo Lucius (Feyenoord), 32 mins Barreto Ibson (Feyenoord), 53 mins Luigi Bruins (Feyenoord), 54 mins Anders Due (Vitesse Arnhem), 16 mins Mads Junker (Vitesse Arnhem), 29 mins The first 30 minutes of this game was a nightmare for Feyenoord as they found themselves 2-0 down on the half hour mark, Anders Due scored the first for Vitesse on the 16th minute when he slid his shot under the keeper into the back of the net and then it was 2-0 on the 29th minute as Mads Junker showed a bit of genius to score but Feyenoord showed great character to make an amazing comeback and it started with a goal from Feyenoord midfielder Theo Lucius on the 32nd minute and it stayed 2-1 going into the break. Only eight minutes after the break it was 2-2 as Feyenoord's Brazilian midfielder Barreto Ibson scored from one yard out and amazingly one minute later it was 3-2 to Feyenoord as Luigi Bruins hammered the ball into the net to complete the great comeback which sees Feyenoord go into second place in the league behind FC Twente.
  10. Just wondering if anybody knows anything about this player, he is a 90 rated midfielder but will his rating go up or down the next time ratings are done cos I am signing him in GC10?

  12. Re: Gold Championship 9 - Match reports / Transfers thread SMFA Shield Final River Plate 0-0 Feyenoord Penalties 4-1 Feyenoord went into their biggest game of the season on the back of two domestic draws and this tie ended a draw over 120 minutes, the players looked nervous in what was a tight and tense affair in front of a crowd of approximately 65,000, and the fans would have a right to feel aggrieved as the two sides played out a 0-0 draw although the two sides put in plenty of effort and tried their best to break the deadlock with the chances that they had, the game went all the way and the penalty shoot out proved too much for Feyenoord as they could only convert one of their penalties and River Plate managed to put four away and that saw them run out 4-1 winners on penalties. Well Done Danny Rsca .
  13. Re: Ross v Tom v Mark v Teb v Torley I signed Steven Taylor on loan from Newcastle and to my surprise Bojan still wasn't signed so I got him aswell, that's me signed four players and sold none, I will probably put my team up tommorow or saturday before the first game along with the stats. Good luck everybody with their first games and who do you play in your first game, I am at home to Cardiff City .
  14. Re: Gold Championship 10 Match Report Thread Benfica 4-0 Galatasaray Scorers Miguel Nuno Gomes (Benfica), 22 & 88 mins Maxi Pereira (Benfica), 56 & 64 mins Benfica blew away their opponents in a four goal blitz and against a team who were viewed as their title challengers, the impressive win sees Benfica top of the league after just two games and it was Nuno Gomes again who scored a brace in this game as he scored the solitary goal in Benfica's first game of the season, Maxi Pereira also scored a brace of goals in this game in what was an impressive victory.
  15. Re: Gold Championship 9 - Match reports / Transfers thread Feyenoord 1-1 Sparta Rotterdam Scorers Michael Mols (Feyenoord), 59 mins Marvin Emnes (Sparta Rotterdam), 17 mins Feyenoord continued their poor league form as they were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Sparta Rotterdam, Feyenoord have slipped to third in the league now as FC Twente are the new leaders and Ajax are second, Marvin Emnes put Sparta ahead on the 17th minute as he headed the ball into the net and Michael Mols continued his impressive scoring run to rescue a point for Feyenoord.

    Rep Power

I know this isn't about the game but I was just wondering what Rep Power is and how it works, cos I was at 0 but I now have 1, is it how long you have been on the forum or what? Again, sorry if this is in the wrong section!
  18. Re: Ross v Tom v Mark v Teb My only two signings so far are Eidur Gudjohnsen and Ruben Baraja and am also trying to sell Ivan Sproule and Tamas Vasko.
  19. Re: Ross v Tom v Mark v Teb I will have a go, I got Bristol City in EC 752, and I start with 14.5 million. Has anybody played their first game yet?
  20. Re: Gold Championship 10 Match Report Thread Hajduk Split 0-1 Benfica Scorers Miguel Nuno Gomes (Benfica), 20 mins Benfica started the season off with a great result in a tough match away from home to Hajduk Split, the main thing for the Benfica manager was to start the season off with the win and Benfica managed to do that with a solitary goal from veteran striker Nuno Gomes on the 20th minute but Benfica really should have won by more, they were very comfortable in the match with 60% of the possesion and 17 attempts at goal.
  21. Re: Gold Championship 9 - Match reports / Transfers thread Club Brugge 2-2 Feyenoord Scorers Michael Mols (Feyenoord), 3 mins Michael Mols (Feyenoord), 86 mins Mamadou Diallo (Club Brugge), 19 mins John Restrepo (Club Brugge), 31 mins Feyenoord moved back to second place in the league after an abject performance away from home to Club Brugge, Feyenoord didn't deserve the draw they got after the poor performance although Feyenoord got off to the perfect start with when they took the lead in the 3rd minute from a Michael Mols goal but the performance from Feyenoord took a dive as Mamadou Diallo scored the equaliser for Club Brugge in the 19th minute, then Club Brugge went 2-1 ahead as John Restrepo chipped the Feyenoord keeper and it stayed 2-1 until the 86th minute when Michael Mols rescued an undeserved point for Feyenoord with his second goal of the game.
  22. Re: Gold Championship 9 - Match reports / Transfers thread SMFA Shield Semi Final Feyenoord 3-0 Tottenham Hotspur Scorers Aiyegbeni Yakubu (Feyenoord), 5 mins Andwele Slory (Feyenoord), 13 mins Jonathan De Guzman (Feyenoord), 74 mins Feyenoord reached the final of the SMFA Shield with a great 3-0 result against Tottenham at the De Kuip, the game was much closer than the result suggests with the shots and possession almost even from both sides but it was Feyenoord's clinical finishing that saw them through. The first goal came in the fifth minute with Nigerian Aiyegbeni Yakubu spectacularly scoring with an overhead kick and the second came only eight minutes later when Andwele Slory thumped the ball into the net, with approximately fifteen minutes left Feyenoord sealed the game with their third goal and it came from young Canadian Jonathan De Guzman to seal a memorable night for Feyenoord. The Feyenoord players should be proud of themselves as they all put in strong performances with four players getting a match rating of nine and five players getting a match rating of eight and thanks to those performances they will now face Argentinian side River Plate in the final on January the fourth.
