We may not get anywhere, but considering we play in a league where you hump it forward and tackle dirty, we play ultimate football.
Its our downfall, but we aim to please.

Aha. This thread amused me tonnes. I don't like to think of myself as an indie kid, but I guess that the evidence is stacked against me.
And now seems to be the perfect time for a rant.
For all those of you who have mentioned The Libertines/Babyshambles/Dirty Pretty Things and highlighted Mr. Doherty's drug abuse, I have news for you. Peter Doherty and Carlos Barat are two of the most talented songwriters of our this generation. Yes, I know Pete's probably not the best role model, and he doesn't do himself any favours by getting himself into all this trouble with the tabloids and the law, but, credit where credit's due, solely judging him by artistic merit, the man is a genius. Those of you who disagree with me probably haven't heard half of what he is capable of. Anyone who's listened to him singing 'Don't Look Back Into The Sun' live will understand exactly what I mean. 'The Libertines' and 'Up The Bracket' are two of the most beautiful and severely touching albums of the decade, 'Can't Stand Me Now', 'Time For Heroes' and 'Don't Look Back Into The Sun' are anthemic, 'Music When The Lights Go Out' and 'What Katie Did' are both uplifting and beautiful, and, for me, 'What Became Of The Likely Lads' is a song both so true and so perfect that I can't help but grin every time I hear it. I know to you Pete may be an awful sign of what the music industry has become, but seriously, you can't take it away from him, the guy has talent. Maybe I do over-rate him, but so what? His music makes my little bubble a better place. As for the Dirty Pretty Things, their music is absolutely brilliant, and every time I've seen them live (which is only three, admittedly) they've blown me away.
Whoever said Oasis are over rated can go rot. Oasis aren't over rated, they aren't sell outs and they aren't yobs. Oasis songs aren't commentries on an era, they don't document what happens, they are a soundtrack to British life, and every single song is absolutely brilliant, and is bound to mean something to someone, somewhere, even if it is a hopeless sixteen year old girl who is far too opoinionated for her own good. I'm more than happy for you to read other people's opinions, even though I probably wont agree with them, but please don't say things like "They have a few amazing songs, but they're massively overrated." because that is seriously infuriating. If you think they're over rated, please give a reason for them being so, because I don't understand how any band who has produced songs the quality of 'Live Forever', 'Don't Look Back In Anger', 'Some Might Say', 'Stop Crying You're Heart Out' and 'Champagne Supernova' (sorry, they were the least obscure songs I could think of by them) could ever be over rated? Maybe I'm missing something, or maybe I'm just deluded. Also, Wonderwall is my least favourite Oasis song. It's overplayed and irritating, and I reccomend that you all go listen to Definately Maybe if you want to hear the raw, anthemic rock 'n' roll that inspires people to post ridiculously long essays ranting and raving about how good Noel and Liam Gallagher are, just like I am now.
Argh. You really don't have to read all of this, I'm being ridiculous.
    Sorry.

To be fair to me though, it seems a couple of comments on here unjust. I did intially say when the seeds were sorted(because some may recall i was seeded) that i didnt feel i should be taking part as my contribution this year hasnt been great. I was then put into a qualifying group but was still unsure why.
This year i have posted 126 times, probably more than most also in this qualifying phase so it's not as if i havent been here. If i go through i apologize as being 30years old i dont need to be part of a popularity contest. It seems alot of people take this a bit too seriously but then they are all alot younger than me, must be maturity .
So i appeal to all not too vote for me and let someone more deserving through, i really dont need a forumer of the year title to know i am a top bloke .
p.s this will be my 127th post.

Now now ladies, lets cut this arguing
Some people wanted the votes to be hidden, so they couldn't see who were voting for friends and not, then someone said, "no, we want to see them!" You cant have everything your own way
In the end, yes, people can see who votes for others, and if those who go on chat want to vote for Ken, let it be. If its for reasons they state then i have no problem with that, we will never know, end of.
Yes, i can see what Adam and Tom are saying, to a FORUMERS point of view, it may look suspicious and cheeky, but from a CHATTERS point of view, it looks genuine, i prefer to take the neutral look, as i go on both regularly and am chummy with both sets of people.
I see Ken as more of a chatter then a forumer, if im being 100% honest. BUT, who's to say he cant win the FOTY? He has 200 something posts, but its not about quantity, and just to say that's hes in this competition alone is enough a chance to say he CAN win, otherwise he wouldn't be here,
As for the "Birmingham City" arguing, about him being a "bad chat room member" who "swears a lot", news for ya mate, this is the FOTY, save that kiddy stuff for pms, it has no place here, none at all.
Lets all just stop this fussing, because at the end of the day, all the arguing, all the rants, all the chat vs forum debates, i ask 1 simple question: What can you do about it? Scrap the whole thing? Tell Tom to re-do certain bits? The guy worked his freaking *** off to get this far, and your ruining it, to be frank. Let people have the freedom of voting for whoever they like, and if you dont like it, well all i can say is your going to have to live with it
Otherwise, well, you should have covered up the votes at the start, which i thought would have been sensible BUT, its started, so this wont be done, and now shouldn't, as it would only add to the confusion and arguing. Lets all just let this competition carry on in good jest, which it should be, its only a bit of fun gals...

Was thinking if there was anyway chat PMs could be used and viewed like msn pms?
If im on chat, i have the main room open along with many other windows, i often forget about a PM i have opened and am chatting with someone. If i do forget, this often lends with the person im talking to leaving after receiving no reply, and probably a bit miffed.
At the minute, when you have a PM open, and minimize it, there is no notification about when someone types something, unless you have the screen open in front of you.
What if there could be a flashing notice at the bottom of your screen, such as the orange like colour there is with messenger? Or perhaps if you have your speakers on, a beep noise of some sort. I say this, but i dont know if there is a beep noise or not, as my chat noise is always turned off, to avoid hearing the annoying noises often used by some chat newbs, they can get on anyones nerves
Therefore thats why i'd prefer the colour, its visible and much more noticeable than a beeping noise, as you may believe that to have come from an advertisement, or if you briefly left your room or whatever, you will have missed it. There is no possible way you can miss a flashing orange (or any colour) notice at the bottom of the screen, unless youve left the room for a long time, or your just plain unaware to these sort of things, and if you use the chat quite often, you wont be
So then, what are your views?

how the hell is this guy a 92 still?!
hes very very average imo, overrated, an average GK at best, as he showed vs Liverpool today. hes prone to errors, rarely has a good game where he makes saves, and really shouldn't be a 92.
for Barcelona, the only reason he keeps clean sheets half the time is that he was a world class D in front of him, Puyol, Marquez, Thuram etc etc. look at Casillas at Real Madrid, his D always manages to leak chances, yet he pulls off save after save, and should be a 96 i reckon.
as for Valdes, his error today was just one of many, and also, hes 3rd choice for Spain!? Casillas and Reina in front of him, and the fact hes not that a good keeper, is why i think he should be down to 90. hes only as high as he is because hes number 1 for Barca, shouldn't make a difference imo, 91 max for me.
What are your thoughts? when you see the GKs on par with him, the likes of Jussi, Akinfeev, James, Canizares etc etc at 90-92, are all better than him imo.

Division 2 round up from the 2nd turn of Ant's setup.
    The National treasure

In the all English clash between Liverpool's Havoc and Manchester Uniteds Leigh Auston, in what was expected to be a tightly contested affair, it certainly was not. Shots wise it may have been, but when it came down to the finishing, Liverpool ran out 0-3 winners at the theatre of dreams. 1 from Momo Diarra and 2 from Fernando Torres gave them 3 points to continue their excellent start to the season. MOM - Torres United now have a tricky tie in Croatia, whilst Havoc's Pool take on Sporting at home.
This brings me onto another surprise result from division 2, Where Real, managed by Lem Steve thumped Bobos Inter, by 4 goals to 1. It was another game that had an evenly matched amount of shots, but once again, finishing was key. Shaun Maloney, one of many scots arriving in the Spanish capital bagged a brace to go along with goals from Fletcher and Sneijder. Crespo got a consolation for the visitors. MOM - Sneijder Next up for Real is a visit to Dortmund, whilst Inter entertain Zemun.
Sporting, now unmanaged in the setup due to the untimely resignation by Liam Radcliffe, took on the Mighty Shels Celtic in Portugal, where the scots came out victorious. In a match with few chances, just 5 on target to be exact, Robbie Keane continued his bright start to the season with the match winner. MOM - Keane. Next up for manager less Sporting is a trip to Anfield, where as Celtic take on America Mex.
I now move on to the surprise package of the season, where manager less Zemun recorded another victory, this time over their Eastern rivals Dinamo, to the displeasure of manager Antonio Jose. They won 2-1, thanks to goals from Roberts and Veselinovic, with Etto getting one for the Croatians. MOM - Balaban. Next up for Zemun is a tough task, a visit to the San Siro. Dinamo welcome Man Utd.
The final game took place in Mexico, where America Mex, under my control, spurred on by a partizan crowd of 101,000 at the Azteca blew away Georges Dortmund, by 3 goals to 0. New boy Raffa Marquez took his place commanding the centre of midfield, whilst Rojas 1, and Omar Bravo got the goals. MOM - Bravo. Next up for America is a trip to Celtic, whilst Dortmund take on Real at home.
After week 3, again Liverpool keep up their 100% start, with America, Celtic and Zemun 3 points behind in the fellow promotion spots.
    Team of the week:
    Reina (Liverpool)
    Osorio (America)
    Carragher (Liverpool)
    Pressley (Real Madrid)
    Dunne (Celtic)
    Marquez (America)
    Diarra (Real Madrid)
    Sneijder (Real Madrid)
    Ferguson (Real Madrid)
    Bravo (America)
    Torres (Liverpool)
    Top Goalscorers after 3 games:
Keane (Celtic), Torres (Liverpool)and Etoo (Liverpool)on 3 goals.

Torres added a brace this week.
    Top assists after 3 games:
Alonso (Liverpool) and Fonseca (America) with 3.

    Alonso's passing is his strength.
Manager of the week goes to Lem Steve after crushing Bobos Inter 4-1, he had this to say,
"It was a good result for the boys, we were buoyed on by some crazy Scots in one corner of the pitch, it seemed to give us the edge."
NEW : My Predictions for next week
    Internazionale 3 - 1 Zemun
    Dinamo Zagreb 1 - 2 Manchester United
    Celtic 1 - 2 America
    Liverpool 3 - 0 Sporting
    Borussia Dortmund 1 - 2 Real Madrid

Division 2 round up from the 2nd turn of Ant's setup, the National treasure

Liam Radcliffe's Sporting took on the rank outsiders of the setup i must say, Zemun of Serbia. They were recently busy in the market, buying Trinidadian after Tobagoan! Well it was the Serbs who would cause the shock of the round, and get their 1st points of the season, as new boys Russell Latapy and Dwight Yorke showed us they still know how to find the back of the net. A real contrast considering they lost 4-1 in their opening fixture. MOM - Yorke Liam must bring Aaron Hughes out of goal if he wants anything in their next game, home to Celtic. Zemun meanwhile, are in a Eastern European derby as they host Dinamo Zagreb.
The Mexicans 'America', managed by yours truly, got their 1st goals and points of the season as they walked past Dinamo, 3-0 winners. Luiz Perez hit 2 before being sent off for the home side, whilst the 3rd was scored by new boy and fans favourite Nery Castillo. MOM - Nery. America next host Dortmund, whilst Zagreb visit Zemun.
In the best of Britain clash between United and Celtic, there were 5 goals for managers Leigh and Shels to look upon. Tevez and Hargreaves for the home side, whilst new boy Robbie Keane hit a brace for the Scots, to add along with Vennegors goal. MOM - Keane The Mancs next take on Pool at home, whilst the Celts visit Sporting.
Real Madrid's manager Lem Steve had to watch the galacticos endure a 2-3 loss at home to Liverpool, managed by Havoc. An entertaining game, which saw Guti and young striker Kris boyd score for the Spanish giants, Riise, Torres and Sissoko for the visitors, who also had new signing Freddy Kanoute red carded for a bad foul. MOM - Torres. Real now take on Inter at home, pool take on United.
Finally we travel to Germany, where Dortmund managed by George took on Bobo's Inter, which ended goalless. Inter certainly had the better of it, but couldn't find a way past the Dortmund GK. It seemed to take its toll on Martin Palermo, who was red carded late on. MOM - Crespo. Inter are at Real next, Borussia in Mexico.
After week 2, Liverpool are the only team with a 100% record, whilst Sporting and Real are the only teams yet to pick up 1 point.
    Team of the week:
    Jakupovic (Dortmund)
    Zanetti (Inter)
    Samuel (Inter)
    Finnan (Celtic)
    Carragher (Liverpool)
    Sissoko (Liverpool)
    Mascherano (Inter)
    Yorke (Zemun)
    Nery Castillo (America)
    Torres (Liverpool)

    National Treasure

Division 1 Turn 2 Round Up!

    Lyon (France) 1 - 9 (Holland) Chelsea

Lyon lost their 2nd consecutive game, and conceded their 19th goal in 2 games as they lost 9-1 to Chelsea. Chelsea scored 6 goals before half time, 2 from Wright-Phillips, and the other 4 from Terry, Makalele, Bridge and Paulo Ferreira. They scored 2 more through John Terry and Makalele, both 2nd goals of the game for them, before Lyon scored a mere consolation goal through Frederic Roux, and then SWP completed his hat-trick on the 84th minute. MoM went to hat-trick hero SWP.

    Porto (Portugal) 2 - 1 (Brazil) Barcelona

A close game won by only 1 goal. Porto took the lead through new signing Pauleta in the 3rd minute, and Ronaldinho scored on the stroke of half-time to equalize for Barcelona. The winner was scored by another Porto new-boy Cardoso Tiago, as he scored a screamer to send the home fans wild on the 68th minute. MoM was Tiago, and unfortunately, Quaresma got injured, and will be out of action for around 2 weeks.

Arsenal (Australia) 3 - 1 (Ukraine) CSKA Moscow

Another close game which could have gone either way. Mathieu Flamini opened the scoring early on to give Arsenal the lead, which was doubled 24 minutes later, on the 26th minute as Francesc Fabregas scored a tap in. The teams went in the the break with Arsenal leading 2-0. Deividas Semberas got sent off for a second yellow on the 52nd minute for pushing the ref, and 10-men CSKA got a goal back in the 80th minute courtesy of Jo, as he headed the ball home, only for Fabregas to double his tally for the night and wrap up the points for Arsenal on the 82nd minute. MoM went to Fabregas.

    Newcastle (Scandinavia) 2 - 1 (Italy) Milan

Yet another close game, which, again, could have gone either way. You had to wait 23 minutes for the first goal, which came from Francesco Totti, on his debut for Milan. Milan went in to the break 1-0 up and looking comfortable. Peter Ramage equalized for the Toon on the 73rd minute, and new boy Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored the winner 8 minutes later with a trademark strike. MoM was Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

    Valencia (Spain) 2 - 3 (Germany) Bayern

A great game with no less than 5 goals! It took not even a minute for Lahm to get his name on the scoresheet, and only 6 minutes for Albiol to score after that! 1-1. Bastian Schweinsteiger gave Bayern the lead for the 2nd time on the 17th minute, only for Ibanez Pablo to equalize yet again for Valencia 4 minutes later on the 21st minute. The teams went in 2-2. The only goal in the second half was the winner, and that came from Bayern's on loan Metzelder in the 83rd minute. MoM was Bastian Schweinsteiger.
    Top Goalscorers:
    Ronaldinho (Barcelona) - 5 goals in 2 games - Ratio: 2.50

    Iniesta (Barcelona) - 3 goals in 1 game - Ratio 3.00
    Fabregas (Arsenal) - 3 goals in 2 games - Ratio 1.50
    Inzaghi (Milan) - 3 goals in 2 games - Ratio 1.50
    Wright-Phillips (Chelsea) - 3 goals in 2 games - Ratio 1.50
    Player of the Turn:
Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored the winner for Newcastle against Milan on his debut, not a bad way to introduce yourself!

    ^^Zlatan in action for Sweden

    League Table
    Arsenal 6 +6
    Bayern 6 +2
    Barcelona 3 +9
    Milan 3 +9
    Chelsea 3 +4
    CSKA 3 +2
    Porto 3 +0
    Newcastle 3 -9
    Valencia 0 -5
    Lyon 0 -18
