  1. Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread BACK WHERE WE SHOULD BE!! haha. Cant sleep so I thought I would check out the forums. I am glad I did now this is welcomed news at these challenging times at chelsea What happens in the next round?
  2. Re: David Luiz for Song? Yea I thought as much I replied asking for an extra 5mil just to cover the fact that luiz might go up. Another point about luiz do you think he will keep his LB?
  3. I know Song is not an out and out CB although at times Luiz doesnt look like a defender, anyway I have been offered a swap : David Luiz for Song + John Flanagan + 2mil. I own Luiz btw I want to accept but is there a likelihood of Luiz rising? Thoughts?
  4. Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread I can see my title challenge fall apart before my eyes
  5. Re: English Championship 8888 Discussion Thread Yea I am still getting used to these lot. Bit mental
  6. Re: English Championship 8888 Discussion Thread I am not gonna lie your strike force is pretty spectacular. But I dont think messi will be used to the hostile weather or the fans for that matter I would rep but alas I have to spread it around apparently
  7. Re: English Championship 8888 Discussion Thread Swans 0 - 0 Spurs zzzzzzzzzzz.................. WAIT what Ronaldo got sent off!?!? Yea thats pretty much all that happened. Another point for the Swans in thier attempt to stave of relegation . Also another clean sheet. I told you these boys are hard to score against
  8. Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread Losing 2-0 to a team I really dont like (no offense to the Wigan Manager just dont like the club) I cant compete with 6 out of 6 thats just silly. I need Chiellini back!!. I have got so many injuries, suspensions and lack of match fitness I people playing out of position I had a 78 playing up front tonight!! it isnt good. Excuses over I will hopefully be back on saturday this cup game through me out a bit Higuin, Villa, Robben, Ivanovic and de rossi are all going to be back and fit. We are still in touching distance. Just.....
  9. Re: English Championship 8888 Discussion Thread Abel Hernandez 86>87 was expecting better but still what a hero. Only a win today and that would make my day
  10. Re: Euro 2012 - Who will win it? If this Euro is gonna be anything like 2008 we are in for some great games. Remember Spain vs Italy one of the best 0-0 I have seen Giorgio Chiellini single handed kept torres and Villa at bay. I am going for repeat of the 2008 Final Spain vs Germany. The Germans have to be odds on for this hence why I voted for them but you have to consider that there is always that "wildcard" that could well go on to win it. Teams like Russia, Croatia and Turkey have done well in recent times then there was Greece in 2004
  11. Re: English Championship 8888 Discussion Thread Ha cheers you jeb end It was only a little something.
  12. Re: English Championship 8888 Discussion Thread Hey guys as I said a few days ago I was going to create a little piece on the preview of my Swansea side here it is enjoy http://forum.soccermanager.com/showpost.php?p=1838137&postcount=43
  13. Re: English Championship 8888 - Match Reports/Transfer Gossip Thread WILL THE SWANS FLY? By Kingsy Swansea City AFC Season Preview Stadium Some say The Liberty Stadium is not big enough for the EPL but the atmosphere 20,000 Welshmen creates is formidable and is arguably better than any other stadium in the league. The facilities are modern and exactly what you would expect for an up and coming side. Manager Swans manager Tom King is well travelled and has a great deal of experience in football both domestic and abroad. At the start of this season he was linked with a move to his boyhood team Derby County but right before he was going to sign the position at Swansea became available and he was challenged with making a difficult decision. The prospect of playing in the English Premier League was too much to turn down and he put pen to paper at the Liberty Stadium in late November. Squad Transfers In: GK – Adler DEF – Rolando, De Ceglie, Zapata, Fucile, Pranjic MID – Amalfitano, Topal, Belluschi, Tino Costa, De Bruyne, Navas FWD – Robinho, Huntlaar, Abel Hernandez Line-up Squad Lineup (vs Newcastle, 10th Dec 2011) Key Players The Leader – Jesus Navas Not the loudest of player but ‘el Capitano’ (or so the fans call him) has a cool head and leads through example. Captain at his previous club Sevilla, Navas has been given the honour of leading this mainly Spanish speaking new look Swansea team. His frightening pace on the right hand side combined with his excellent delivery and technical skills will give any defence nightmares. He will be an influential member of this team. The Wall – Rene Adler The big German keeper is at the heart of the Swansea defence. He hasn’t conceded a single goal throughout pre-season. He is loud, great at commanding the defence and has great reflexes to boot all of these will be tested to their limit in the Swans first season in the Premier league. With a great number of quality strikers throughout the division he is certainly going to be busy. The Flair – Robinho The pacey and technically brilliant Robinho has returned to the EPL. After a mixed spell at Man city a few years ago he has gone on to play for Santos then later AC Milan. Everyone knows about this guys ability he will be the quality from the left and will look to widen the play as well as support the lone striker. The signing of Robinho was a massive coup for Swansea City they will need him fit this season if they want to stay up. He is our one to watch this season. Strengths This Swansea side is very hard to score against we feel this is a major part of how they play with men behind the ball then breaking out on the counter. Having not conceded a single goal in pre-season they will look for this to continue. Another area of strength for the Swans is the ‘trio’ upfront Navas, Huntelaar and Robinho is a formidable attacking force and will be a match for any defence. Weaknesses A great area for concern for this Swansea side is their lack of strength in depth beyond the first 11 there are very few who can step in with the quality to do the same job. Another issue is their possible overreliance on Robinho for most of their attacking play and goals this will hit them hard especially if he encounters some poor form or gets injured the Swans may begin to struggle. Prediction Media – 19th Pundits – 17th – The experts feel a relegation battle will be on the cards for the Swansea manger this season, but as long as they remain reliable defensively and keep their key attacking players fit they can say up this season.
  14. Re: English Championship 8888 Discussion Thread Newcastle 0 - 2 Swansea Navas 32' Amalfitano 53' A 2-0 away win at a good Newcastle side. This Swans defense hasnt conceded a goal yet this season which is only goiong to serve us well in our attempt to stay in the division this season. I will be releasing a season overview for Swansea in the next couple of days
  15. Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread Chelsea 1 - 3 Fulham 2 jammy goals give Fulham the win. I had 24 shots in the whole game 16 on target of which only 1 went in cmon!!! But cant be disappointing with my performance so far this season. We all know we are up where we should be and its just a matter of time before I make the title mine. Wolves are yet to play some of the big teams and the fixtures will eventually catch up with them. (I am looking to the dates between 24th Dec and 4th Jan with United at Home and West Brom and chelsea away I see you struggling) With 4 influential first teams players out through suspension / Injury this is defeat no surprise. 2 defenders had to step up from the reserves and unfortunately for them luck didn't do them any favors. As soon as I saw it was Fulham I knew we were done for. We are just gonna have to dust ourselves off and hope Chiellini gets fit soon!!
  16. Re: English Championship 8888 Discussion Thread 3 out of 3 thanks to more Luis Suarez antics I have ground out a 1-0 home win against Liverpool. Jesus Navas the Swans scored with a delightful finish. That's 3 friendlies now and not a single goal conceded. I hope this form continues. Although I do somewhat doubt this.
  17. Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread Chelsea Finsh top of group A in the champions league I have noticed that only Blackpool from the EPL has made it congratz to Maoam to join me in being the only English representatives left at the top of the European Game
  18. Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread I battered Lincoln's 'reserve' team 6-1 away from home. I took full advantage of the premier league early Winter break to put out my strongest squad and i have reaped the rewards.
  19. Re: English Championship 8888 Discussion Thread I am trying to manage 614k with a 20k seater stadium but a div 1 team. I dont like the look of it especially if i get relegated Robinho, Navas and Adler make up 1/4 of the whole wage bill, I guess you have to pay for that extra quality
