  1. Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread I have to say this is a bit of a coup to win. Liverpool thrashed me 5-2 at The Bridge but my side put in a performance to get a well deserved win. To be honest I didnt really think teams win 2 trophies in a season but i guess i have proved myself wrong. Great win i will be in the charity shield next season i will get west brom/blackpool then. I really am turning into a cup side

  4. Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread I would just like to point out to everyone its the final of the shield tonight and it is the last domestic cup this season. It will be played out between the recently crowned FA Cup Champions Chelsea and Liverpool. Reaching 2 cup finals has been a really great feat for my side which has been struggling in the league I would love to make it 2 cups this season. But personally i dont think SM works like that. Although I would love it to prove me wrong It has the makings to be a classic. Both sides are relativity equal and have had a number of interesting encounters this season. I dunno if anyone has done an article one this? I though I best not do one cos I may be slightly biased.
  5. Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread I fear that going all out for the cup has come back to haunt me. A bit of a hangover from the joys of winning the FA cup has resulted in me falling 2-5 at home to Liverpool. An absolutely shocking performance i would like to apologize to all of the fans. I hope i dont do a Birmingham. Win a trophy then get relegated I cant keep up playing in 4 competitions it just ridiculous, my players just can handle it.
  6. Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread Thanks man
  7. Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread Cheers man. Cant believe in 1 month i have come from Mid-table Championship obscurity to managing a formidable team to a cup victory. I never thought when i joined this setup me of all people would be the first to get a trophy.... I guess i need to make it two in a row now with the shield in less than a weeks time.
  8. Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread The final of the Shield is on in a week i bet you could put that in. Liverpool vs Chelsea would be a interesting prediction.

  10. Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread I think we are definitely a cup side. I am in final of the cup and the sheild. Yet i am only mid-table in the league with probably one of the best squads around.

  12. Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread I just want to bring it to everyone's attention that the final of the cup between Chelsea and Carlisle Utd is on tomorrow. A big game for both clubs with a lot at stake. The pressure is going to be on my Chelsea squad. With the clubs unsatisfactory position in the league to win would be a welcomed distraction. The Carlisle side that stands in has been on a great run to reach the final and will be a willing and determined adversary. I will drop a report here on the result tomorrow unless anyone else is.
  13. Re: English Championship 7777 - Match Reports,Transfer news etc. TRANSFER NEWS It has been confirmed by the club that Daniele De Rossi has complete his move to Chelsea today. A deal involving Francesco Totti and Renato Agusto and a fee to be around 3million was enough to prise the 28 year old centre midfielder away from Roma. De Rossi stated "I would like to thank all the i Giallorossi fans they have been brilliant in supporting me these past 7 years. I wish them all the best in the future. I am please to have joined a fantastic club like Chelsea. To play with great footballers such as Ronaldo, Villa and Iniesta" De Rossi is Chelsea manager Tom King's second signing since joining from Derby County in August. The other signing being Giorgio Chiellini.
  14. Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread Chelsea release statement on new manager Tom King. The former Derby County boss has signed a three-year deal at Chelsea. “We knew that this time we wanted to hire a young Home-grown manager who has the experience and the potential to carry the club forward. We feel that Tom was the ideal candidate for the job,” Chelsea said in a statement. "He has already achieved much in a relatively short space of time. His ambition, drive and determination matches that of Chelsea and we are confident Tom's leadership of the team will result in greater successes in major domestic and European competitions.” Chelsea paid the £500k compensation to release the English coach from his Derby contract, with King succeeding Frenchman John Allback, who resigned from his post as Chelsea boss under dubious circumstances back in July. Former Chelsea and England coach Glenn Hoddle believes King could prove to be a shrewd acquisition for the west London club “I think it could be a breath of fresh air, bringing in a fresh approach to this excellent football team.”
