    Kazan cruise to victory
Rubin Kazan kicked off there season last night with a tricky home tie against Dynamo Kyiv. Kazan manager Daniel Murphy was very happy with the amount of fans at the game and he gives credit to the fans for getting behind the team.
Moskva nearly scored in the first minute but Ryzhikov made a spectacular save to deny the away side an early lead.Just two minutes later it was Kazan's turn to test the keeper. Semak tried his luck with a great overhead kick but the keeper made an even better save.On the 8 minute mark Gabulov made another great save from a wonderful strike from Bystrov. Both sides had a good amount of possession but it was mostly Moskva who had the ball but Kazan made the best out of the possession they had when Semak burst into the box and smashed his shot into the bottom corner for his first of the season.

Semak made it 1-0 to Rubin Kazan
Daniel Murphy knew his side would need a second goal to surely kill off Moskva.Savo Milosevic nearly did make it 2-0 when he chipped the keeper but the ball was cleared off the line by the awaiting defender. Just two minutes later Karadeniz tried the chip the keeper but his chip sailed over the bar. Five minutes before half time Bystrov broke down the left wing and saw Milosevic free in the box so he played into him on the ground and the Serbian striker smashed the ball into the roof of the net to give Kazan a 2-0 lead. One minute before half time Kvirkvelia should of made it 3-0 when he had an open goal in front of him and somehow he managed to blaze it over.

Milosevic made it 2-0 to the home side
Both sides came back out for the second half and Dynamo Moskva had the two good chances within two minutes but Caceres missed both of them.On the 52 minutes there was a mix up in midfield which Alejandro Dominguez took advantage of and he ran on to pass the ball around the advancing keeper.

Dominguez gets crowded by his team mates after is goal
Straight fro the tip off Quaresma ran past 5 players and looked set to score but he ended up smashing his shot off the post.Dynamo Moskva had most of the ball but did not make many chances in the second half but neither did Kazan. Kazan nearly had a fourth goal though when Adamov smashed a 25 yard shot off the crossbar and then just a minute later Bystrov did the same thing. The final result was a 3-0 win to Rubin Kazan.
Here is what Daniel Murphy has to say:

    Ten man Arsenal go top
Arsenal knew going into this game thay if they win and other results go there way they could go top for the first time under Daniel Murphy's management.
Inter had the best chance of the first half when Milito found himself clear of the Arsenal defence but he ended up hitting the post.Cesc Fabregas ended up getting booked on 12 minutes for an off the ball incident which could of ended up with the young midfielder being sent off.Guilherme forced Juilo Cesra into a good save but he spilled it right back into Guilherme's path but the striker couldn't score.Eight minutes before half time Muntari had the ball into the middle of the park and he skinned Pasanen but then the Finnish defender jumped into the back of the player and he got a straight red card. His manager didn't even acknowledge his defender when he walked by.

Pasanen distraught after being sent off
Inter had some good half chances at the start of the half but just before the hour mark Robin Van Persie took advantage of a mix up in midfield and he used his pace to run right trough to goal and he ended up scoring his third goal of the season. Just a minute later there was a scramble in the Inter box and Van Persie was there again to make it 2-0 for his fourth goal of the season. Eduardo could of made it 3-0 when he chipped Cesar but he also chipped the goal. Three minutes later Mancini picked the ball up after it bounced off the bar and he got Inter back into the game.Ibrahimovich should of made it 2-2 but he ended up blazing the ball over and just before the end of the game Bodmer's 25 yard shot crashed off the bar. The final score was 2-1 to Arsenal and they ended up on top.

I thought of this idea today and it could be something some people may like. Every now and again you hear of players getting a pain killing injection for a slight injury and they play there next game but will not play until there fit again.
This could be added in the game and I think it would be a good improvement. It is annoying when you get a top player injured with something like a swollen ankle and he misses a few days and could miss a big game. You could get a club message saying that the player is injured but there you can give him a pain killing injection and if you give him the injection that player misses maybe a few more days.
    Any opinions??

    Ipswich beat league leaders
After losing there last league fixture 3-0 to Colchester Ipswich bounced back in the cup by beating Premier League side Crystal Palace in a penalty shoot-out.Daniel Murphy's side have been full of confidence for a long time now and has taken them from bottom of the league and looking like a team who were going to go down to a team who is fighting for a promotion spot.
Ipswich almost scored after there first attack when Payet hit the bar with a great shot but Ipswich got another chance just two minutes later and Salvador Felipe Caicedo managed to slot the ball into the back of the net for his fifth goal in seven games. The Ecuadorian striker is showing the form that he first showed in his first season.Just on the ten minute mark urretavizcaya almost scored but his shot went blazing over.Hakan almost got Burnley back into the game when he smashed his shot off the bar and questions were raised about the ball crossing the line.Gabriel Hauche was booked for violent conduct after twenty minutes and then just fifteen minutes later he took his man down and it was a very bad challenge and he was sent off.Things were not looking good for Burnley who had been undefeated until this game.Three minutes later Ipswich took advantage of the extra man and Mikel Martinez drilled home a right footed shot.

Caicedo celebrating his fifth league goal and Martinez made it 2-0
The second half started back and Burnley would need to get a quick goal and hope that Ipswich take there foot off the pedal.Taarabt almost made it 3-0 but the Burnely keeper made a fantastic save.Hakan Sukur scored a contender for goal of the season after fifty four minutes when he scored an overhead kick to get Burnley's first goal of the game but the game was put beyond Burnley again when Urretavizcaya poked the ball past the defender after a goalmouth scramble. The score was now 3-1 and surely all three points were going to go to Ipswich and Burnley were heading towards there first defeat.Just before the seventy minute mark Ipswich got a fourth goal and it was thanks to a great run from Turkish forward Batuhan got his first goal of the season and made sure of all three points. The game ended this score and now Ipswich are just ninth in the table and if they win against Bristol City who are in eight place and if Ipswich get the three points then they could get into the play-offs.

Urretavizcaya and Batuhan got Ipswich's last two goals

These two players are both already on the database and i am not trying to say i found these players.they will be known to anybody that watches the Eircom League. These two players have had a good season in the League of Ireland which I will admit is not a great league at all.The first player is Jay O'Shea from Galway United and the second player is Keith Fahey from St.Patrick's.

    Jay O'Shea
Jay O'Shea can play on the wing or upfront and he was Galway United's top scorer this season and he also managed to win the club's player of the year.He is plays for Ireland's U-19 and U21 and he could get his first senior cap for Ireland within the next 2 seasons. There was a few teams looking to sign him but Derby County managed to capture his signature. At just 20 years of age he has a bright future ahead of him if he stays fit and manages to get into the first team.I have seen this guy play and he is a talent.
    Keith Fahey
Keith Fahey plays for St.Pats and has been one of there star players since his arrival but he has told St.Pats that he will be leaving on Janurary.Fahey used to play for Villa but failed to make a breakthrough.Birmingham City showed some interest in the midfielder.Fahey impressed in the Uefa Cup against Hertha Berlin and the German side wanted to sign him.

    Watford win again
[/Watford had to travel to Whaddon Road to play Cheltenham Town who have not won in three games were still the favourites against a Watford side who have moved up the table very quickly. There was just 9,796 fans at the stadium and most of the noise came from the away stand were there was eight hundred fans.
Watford almost took the lead when Hesselink tried his luck with an overhead kick but his great effort just went over.Just four minutes later Scott Brown found himself in yards of space and he scored his first Watford goal since his move to them.He was overjoyed with his first Watford goal.Just five minutes later Watford made it 2-0 when a corner was whipped in and the defenders could not get the ball away and then young Brazilan Marcelo Lulinha was there to tap the ball in for his fourth goal in five games. The attacking midfielder is loving his loan time at Watford.Watford were certainly taking this game to the home side and then just a few minutes later Fedrico Giunti scored only his fourth Watford goal in four seasons.Watford had surely took all three points already.
Cheltenham would need a goal before half-time if they wanted to try and get back into the game and they did just that when Renan got on the end of a great through ball and slotted the ball past Carson.Just after the half hour mark Mcbride found himself in yards of space as the defenders were not paying attention to him and then he made it 3-2.Watford could not sit back anymore.
There was a few more little chances in the game but Watford remained strong and managed to get another three points.

Noticed he's been added on the database. (RB, Age 19, Rating 78). I had a search but found nothing (although I'm sure that cant be right!)
here's what I found on wikipedia:
Stefano Celozzi (born November 2, 1988) is a German footballer who plays as a defender for Bayern Munich II. He is of Italian origin.
As of the 2007/08 season, Celozzi has been promoted to the first team at Bayern, and given the number 28, although he will continue to be mostly a reserve player.
Looked at his season stats. No sign of him having played a league game. But has made 65 appearances for Bayern Munich II. Sounds like another good prospect.

No, he is not a forumer. But he has the potential to be the next Greig Spence!
Antonin Fantis is a 1992 born footballer from the Czech Republic. Born in April, this makes him one of the youngest players on SM, after Spence and Galvan. He was added to the database today, but hidden from Real Life Clubs.
Ok, to the footy now. He has subbed in 3 of the 4 matches this season for newly promoted Marila Pribram in the Czech super league. He has shown much promise at the striker position.
He is also a U16 Czech international and was named Player of the Tournament at the Aegean cup, where teams such as Belgium, Greece, Turkey, Russia, Ukraine and France competed with the Czech Rep.

    Antonin FANTIS
    Real Club: Marila Príbram
    Age: 16 years old
    Born: 15 April 1992
    Nationality: Czech
    Position: Striker (F)
    Foot: Right

    Rating: 74
    Last Rating Change: 0
    SM Value: £390,000

He won't get a rise this time around, but his role is increasing and who know, by the end of the season you might have a 16 year old rated 80.

Mad Leprechaun reacted to DP 91 in Swap Tool Feature!
The swap tool is the biggest in demand feature on SM and this thread has been created to ajust the needs of this tool and prove the high demands this tool has.
The swap tool would enable members to propose swaps with other managers for clubs.
You would be able to ask another manager to start negotiations over swapping clubs, if the application was accepted the managers would then be able to propose deals to one another for clubs.
This tool would stop people having to quit and hope to get their teams to another manager whom have propossed a trade and also stop managers taking teams and not agreeing to swap.
In theory this feature would also stop tickets being sent to SM about managers cheating and not agreeing to deals.
Managers could quit a team and they would then be offered to other managers in the setup through job offers.
So overall this tool would have no negative effects to the community and SM and would stop the longest running saga over the demand of a feature on SM.

Mad Leprechaun reacted to Austin in Austins guide to different styles of play
I have made this thread to discuss the different styles of play and how to correspond with your tactics.
The first one I am going to touch is how to keep possesion

    POSSESSION

Possession is an important element of play in football. With this element,it can determine whether you win games or dont get to test the keeper at all.For example, a team who keeps 100% possession during a match is more likely to win a match, and is guaranteed not to lose it.
How to keep possession-As Ive said, possession is highly crucial to win a match and to keep the ball away from the opponent. Now I'll tell you how to keep possession in a match.
good midfielders.-This is very important as they do most of the passing around in this game.
Defensive or normal mentality-,this is because if you have attacking mentality, anytime you get the ball, you just shoot and ghive it to the opponent if you miss. But if you have a defensive mentality, you'll get the ball and take your time with it before getting it to the strikers.
Passing Style-Short.This is so you can pass the ball around yourselves and try to carve out a pretty goal.Dont use it if your opponent has a good defense
Slow tempo-Slow tempo is purely there for taking your sweet time with the ball when you have got it,it enables you to have annoying back passes around your team and keep the opponent away from the ball.Be careful though-if you have bad defenders and a bad goalie,a striker may recieve the ball and round the keeper to score you.
Pressing-Own half.Dont need to expalin this much do I?
Play style-men behind ball-so that you dont get caught by the opponent if they try to break away.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------
there will be more explanations and different tactic syles coming up.
Next I will address a guide on how to get shots in a match i.e how to make sure you get more shots than your opponent.
Please if this resembles sir metz guide tell me,because I was trying to create something different than his and I couldnt read the whole thread as it was huge.
Also I would appreciate help from other forumers on the tactics style as well.
Please feel free to post your opinions on this.
Oh, and I will include the pages where I added updates for your comfort
    Update 1-post 1 - Possession
    Update 2 - post 3 - getting shots
    update 3-post 9 - attacking style
    Update 4 - post 10 - The Defensive Tactic
    Update 5 - post 28 - THe Long Ball

I am continuing to work on providing more updates, and I have set aside 10 teams to experiment with them.
